What do you class as plus size?
I fit here too. I'm about a size 18, though I often need a size 20 cause of my big, wobbly belly :(. I also have a huge H cup (.)(.) which doesn't help.
I'm due late April next year, and we'll be finding out the sex for sure.
I definitely don't look pregnant yet - and so far haven't put on any weight - if anything I may have lost a kilo or two from morning sickness.
I didn't have any problems being overweight and pregnant with DS, so am not anticipating any this time. I am hoping to keep up some level of fitness by swimming though, once I start feeling less crappy.
Oh.. Well. Count me in then :)
Welcome Ladies :-) give me your stats if you'd like to join in our tally at the top :-)
Jaki how did you find out so early what gender baby your having :-) I'm so impatient, another 8 odd weeks to go before I can have my scan.
I'm going to be getting my swimmers from Maternity Wear Online dot com, the tankini - I love the top and how the back is... saves from embarrassment with the young man pulls on your top when you pick him up lol I've seen them in person and just waiting until the bank account allows me to purchase them...
On the swimwear subject, Plus Maternity has just brought out a tankini that starts at a size 18 as well. Not sure on cost though, sorry!
Danielle: I'm due 21st April 2011, though my scan next week may change that date. Will be finding out the sex. And we've nicknamed this bub Twinkle :).
Count me in lol, since I seem to be a size 18-20 these days :)
I'm due March 28th, and we will be finding out the sex at our 18-20wk scan whenever that ends up being :)
Those talking about the growing (.)(.)'s... I grew from a 16DD to an 18DD prior to getting preg... and now I'm a frickin 20F! They are sooo huge and get sooo sore during the day when I wear a bra, it's extremely frustrating... I'm living in sprts support singlets most days lol
Hope everyone else is going ok :)
Details for the top: I'm Jen and we're having a little girl. DH has nicknamed her his little M&M.
Thanks for the tip on the website. I'll check it out. I'm always a bit nervous about ordering clothes online given the shape issues I normally encounter when I'm trying stuff on. How do you deal with that part?
Juniper - haha, I'm Jen too lol seems to be popular with us preggy ladies lately, I know another 3 Jen's who are UTD.
afm - I forgot to add that I am Jen as well... or Jenna... or even JJ, whichever suits you best, I answer to all of them :)
I've got to be honest, I've never ordered from them but I am a plus size model and I've been doing a little maternity modelling for them. I found their sizing quite generous, but then when you wear 'proper' size 16+ clothes (ie cut to fit a curvy figure and not just straight up and down but with more material) they are normally a little more generous anyway. I LOVE that I can wear a size 1 :) I am not sure of what their returns/exchange policy is, but you can request a callback from their website and the lady that runs it is brilliant - she will be able to advise on sizing etc I imagine. If you're in Sydney they're at a Baby and Toddler Show this weekend. I'm pretty sure they have more details of it on their facebook page but that's all I really know.
Danielle I had PGD IVF. We know the sex of all our embies :) providing he put the right one in it is a boy. 'his' heartbeat is 182 tho, thus my concern.
I'm not a huge fan of shopping online but with my swimmers I really had no choice, I just bit the bullet and did it. And couldn't be happier. But like I said the boardshort were very badly sized, so instead of paying postage for a return and buying a pair twice as exy I gave the to a workmates daughter who is UTD and not in a good place finacially.
I have just bought 3 pre- loved tops off eBay, cheap as. If the don't fit they will go to her as well.
On a happy shopping note we are spending this weekend in rockhampton so I can do some maternity shopping. YAY!!!! K-Mart here I come!!!!!! Ohhhhhhh and pumkin patch! Excited much ;)
My name is Rhianon, and baby (it has no nickname) is due March 9. Baby will be surprise!
I am always skeptical of buying clothes online, as I can go to the shop and try on the right size but my hips don't fit, or it doesn't look right etc. When I get paid next, I'm gonna drag my dh to some maternity shops. There's a 2nd hand one just down the road from us, and one over the side of town that's fairly cheap... I'm getting desperate!
Yarrawin, thanks. Sounds like a good idea to measure myself up and speak to her.
Jenna, lol, yep, one of the downsides to having one of the most popular girls names in the 70s. I visit another forum and about a dozen of the ladies (out of about 150) due the same month as me are named Jennifer or some variation there of...
Hey, I live in Emerald so it's a 6hr round trip, which we usually do in one day but being preggo I put me put down and we r spending to nights :)
I've only been to rocky twice. When we lived in moranbah we always went to mackay.
Can I join too? My name is Jo, bub is due 24th Dec. Sex will be surprise, only cause bub didn't really want us to know.
Hey everyone, welcome to the newbies ! :D
Is anyone else having a problem feeling their baby bump? Even when I lie on my tummy I can't feel much, not even a hard lump, and I would have thought that at nearly 17 weeks, I would have felt something already!!! I've never been quite this big at the start of the pregnancy before, so I don't really know if I have so much fat on my gut that thats why I can't feel it... or if something sinister is a'happenin!
