Last night I heard a series of single pop or click noises, a little like when you crack your fingers. I have briefly googled it, and Dr Google is playing hard to get. I'm also trawling my weekly pg emails as I vaguely remember reading about this in one of them.
But what on earth is it? And has anyone heard it?
It was definitely from him (as in, it wasn't gas from me - unless a single bubble was popping at a time!!), and was associated with some very gentle movements from him (no vigorous movements), and didn't seem to be his legs/hips. I sounded/felt like it was coming from his upper half.
Clicking sound? Occasionally, a pregnant woman will describe a distinctive 'click' or 'pop' coming from inside her uterus, usually when her baby is moving during middle to late pregnancy. This is not very common, and it is hard to know what really causes it. One plausible explanation may be the baby's joints rubbing or 'clicking' as they move, but we cannot be certain. In our experience, women who have noticed this clicking sound have gone on to have normal healthy babies, so we don't think it is anything to be concerned about. Perhaps it will remain one of those strange mysteries of pregnancy?
Hi, I too kept hearing a popping noise in the last few weeks before having bubs. Whoever I told either said they had not heard of it, thought it was nothing or that although not common it is normal but they don't know what caused it. I went on to have a happy healthy baby so I guess whatever it was had no effect on anything. Goodluck with your last few weeks.
AHH! thumb sucking... yep, I could buy that one. I've read about the hips clicking, but it wasn't coming from his hips. DH was too sleepy to pay attention & listen to it for me.
