I know preceed is good for TTC so cant imagine it would be bad for pg?![]()
Does anyone know what are the best lubricants to use for DTD when pg?
I'm guessing water based should be ok, but I've also heard more natural things like olive oil????
Would appreciate anyones advice![]()

We use pre seed if any left, Sylk or KY.
Thanks feeb and Amaki Yeah didn't think of that, we used pre~seed for TTC there's none left though I'll have to order some more.
Still up for other suggestions for in the mean time IYKWIM takes a while for delivery and it's not exactly cheap either so a more cost effective idea would be good too then I could alternate maybe.
Ive just gone online and bought some of the pre seed lubriucant.....after 11 months ill try anything....fingers crossed x
Good luck Amy_jellybean!!!![]()
willow i think Sylk is best!! great stuff, just dont use too much![]()
I got really sensitive to lube when I was PG and couldn't use it. It really burnt![]()
I'm very sensitive to lube at all times. My GYN got me onto Sylk which I have used for ages and then when we were TTC DS Wet Stuff. Wet Stuff is really good and I've had no trouble with it either.
Thanks principessa![]()
I think Sylk would probably be a good option, as this was recommended to me (prior to falling pregnant, though) because I was so sensitive to everything and always had thrush-like rashes, etc.
jakodai that sounds like me thanks![]()
What about sweet almond oil from the health food shop? It is a common ingredient in good massage oils (often with essential oils added) and can be used incooking too! But it is a nice fine oil that is rather lubricative! I use it on bubs' bottom at change time. I get a big bottle of Melrose brand and dispense it into smaller cosmetic plastic bottle for diff uses!
Thanks Kattierabbit I'll check that out
I've just been looking into Sylk and here's what their website says
"Although Sylk is not intended as a spermicide, Sylk's pH balance can affect motility, the movement of sperm and should therefore not be used if pregnancy is desired. (Also true of most other personal lubricants!)
When ovulation occurs, the pH balance changes to around 7 which is a neutral pH state. Sylk has a pH balance of 4.5 - 4.7, similar to the normal vaginal environment, i.e. slightly acidic. This is deliberate to keep the vagina healthy and not alter the balance.
If you're trying for a baby, we suggest Pre-seed - click on this name or see our Links & Resources Page. Avoid petroleum jelly, massage oils, aromatic oils, baby or other oils made from minerals and containing paraffin and fragrances, at all times.
However, once you're confirmed pregnant, you can safely return to using Sylk because it is gentle, healthy and 100% free from petrochemicals like paraben perservative and propylene glycol."
added that last paragraph...sorry I misread the post...thought it was what lube to use when TTC
