First of all i am breastfeeding my 8 month old bub atm but have ben getting symptoms of pregnancy, such as more tender nipples, urinating more frequently, bleeding gums ( had this last time round and about a week or two ago it started up again), massive tooth ache ( always happends to me when i pg), TMi warning...... losing way more than normal moucus ( also happened last pg, which they tell me is normal in subsequent pg's), dizzy spells in the last week or so, mainly after i have been bending down, really tired alot more than normal, there are probably more but that will do for starters.
So anyway i decided to get a HPT yesterday and tested as soon as i got home, so about 3:30pm. Now this test came up +++ within 30 sec i could see the test line and never got really dark but its definately there! So DH and i have been mentally preparing ourselves and then i go to docs today to confirm and their test comes up ---, now this has happened before , but then they send me to pathology for a blood test and it comes back saying threshold!!!! Which apparantly is inconclusive!!
So i am supposed to go back in 2 or 3 days and have another BT. I am so frustrated and would love other peoples opinion as to what is going on with my body!!!! It was not aplanned PG but i hate hanging even for a few days, so if you have any theories i would love to hear them.

The dr's urine test may have been weaker than the one you used at home, hence the neg, everyone has an amount of hcg in the bodies anyway, so I guess it depends on what level they classify as POS. I know most of them classify over 20hcg as pos, put because we all increase our hcg rate at different levels yours may have been lower. It is definetly possible. After my month I think anything is possible. Because your rate should usually double every few days they will just check it again in a few days to make sure that whatever level it was at it has increased. It is very frustrating.

Sounds to me like you already know in your heart what the answer is! You have had all these symptoms before with PG but is there anything else which could cause them???
My home test was really faint +++ but they didnt do a confirmation blood test for about 3 days cause it was apparently too early. could this be the case with you?

Nah this will make it number 7 10longyears youngest is only on ticker! Not that i care about that. This wasnt planned at all but this prob sounds weird but now thinking that i am i dont want to lose it if its there, IYKWIM!!
In my heart yes i do think i am, i can't think of anything that would cause all these symptoms but hey i am no expert!! So i guess i will know in a few days,.
I am going to do another test tomorrow just to see how that comes back but other than that i guess all i can do is wait!

i did a HPT at 4 wks and got a def +. I went to the Drs at 4wks 2days as i am O-neg and had some slight spotting and wanted to know if i was to worry. He did a test and it was neg. He told me their tests do not detect levels until they are about 50hcg and often HPT's are much more sensitive and can detect levels as low as 15-20hcg. My first blood test too came back as inconclusive and i had a repeat one done 3 days later and it was pos. I know the waiting game sucks but i believe you are Pg and in your heart you sound like thats what you believe too. Well goodluck and let us know how you go on. HTH to ease your mind a bit.
It might be that your levels were not high enough for a BT to show positive or it might be that your HCG levels are declining and that's why it's not showing.... unfortunately there is no way of knowing until you get your next BT results.
With my recent pg I had strong symptoms with a HCG level of 20 (anything above 5 was considered positive at the lab that did my test) but 4 days later with a result of 11 (still positive, but a day before an early m/c) I had no symptoms at all.
diff pathology labs rate diff levels as +ve. This pgcy, I had a _ve Bt, two days later two +ve HPT's and Dr refused to do another BT as he said the levels would prob be inconclusive, so I went back 5 days later and it was +ve, but low. I spotted and had to have repeat BT's, but they all showed very big rises so I was def preg (u/s confirmed). Goodluck honey. I think u r def preg and this ones going to be a sticker too...

Well I did another HPT this morning and got another positive result, still only light but definately there!!!!
It was enough for DH and i to say well looks like there is to be another edition to our beautiful family!
I will still of course have BT on thursday and will post in here on Thursday evening to let you all know the results. We decided to tell the kids and they all took it really well, apart from eldest DS saying do you not know what causes it yet?????? Of course the girls all looked at us and then said ooooooohhhh MUM!!!! But they seem ok so thats all that matters to us!

I've got those comments from ppl too. I just laugh and say Nup, we have NO idea how it happens! Or yeah but what else can ya do when the TV's on the blink?! hehehe
Dh's sister told him to keep it in his pants. The funny thing is, with two young girls and house renos and me working four nights a week, we hardly ever DTD and yet it still happened! hehehe

Well i did a second blood test and got a BFP result so now that i am used to the idea i am really looking forward to another little bundle of joy. At least this way Mitchie will have someone to play with at home. DH is quite excited too, i think he actually recovered quicker than i did from the news!
Anyway 7wks by my dates and hopefully go for an early scan in the next few weeks or so.
