    presents for kids

Hey ladies just a thought that i had the other day would it seem silly for me and bubs to buy her older sisters presents to give when they come to visit. There has been alot of attention latley on bubs what with setting up nursery buying clothes nappies ect i dont want them to feel left out so i thought when they come to visit me and bubs in hospital it would make them feel special to have a gift waiting for each of them from bubs and maybe they in turn could come shopping with me to buy bubs somthing. I dont know really i want the kids to feel very much as special as the new arrival. Does anyone have any sugestions that will help.

I've been getting a few small pressies to give to my toddler when he comes to visit us in hospital. I don't want everything to be purely about the new baby and for K to feel left out, especially if we have other visitors who bring gifts for the baby. K will be 22m when our next bub is due so the things we are getting him will probably be quite different to what you might get your girls. We're getting him things like crayons, books, and small toys for him to play with.

    Anyway, I think it's a nice idea

I bought my DD (8yrs at the time) a Tamagotchi from her new brother. She loves it, and still calls it 'the one Blake gave me'.

I got my ears pierced when my sister was born (30 years ago now!). I was so excited at the time...and to this day, whenever I wear earrings, it reminds me of my wonderful little sister!

My mum did this with all of us kids...

And i'm doing it for my lil sis and brothers too... becoz i will be staying with them for a while, i don't want them to feel left out... Expecially my lil sis (3yo) coz she is already going to be one jealous lil girl! Coz she'z been my lil girl for so long, we don't know how shes going to go sharing me... My 3 bro's are 12,12,9 so they understand a bit more of whats going on, and won't get jealous, but i'm still buying them their fav. cd each... And for my lil sis, me and mum have picked up things for her baby born, so she can do the same things to baby born as to what i am doing to blob...

Hi KittyKat. I noticed your due 17th Feb - you should come join the Feb 15-28 belly buddies thread - we always welcome new Mums to be!

I recall when my sister was born my brother got a lego set and I got one of those shopping kit things - the ones with all the groceries, trolley etc. I'm not sure how old your other children are but what about stuff that interests them? Like books, or lego, or a new little outfit for Barbie... I have a friend with a 3 yr old who LOVES taking photo's. So her new baby is giving him a disposable camera and a voucher to get the photo's printed. She knows full well he'll use the film up before he even leaves the hospital so will get a little album he can store them in as his special memories.

My girls are older so Riley gave them each a bathrobe the same as mine from Sussan. They were very impressed particularly the younger one.
