LG! Haven't seen you around the traps for a while! I can't answer your question but I'm about to start pilates, only 'cos I enjoy it more than yoga anyways. For me pilates is good cos it really stregthens my lower back which is what I need. Hope all is well
hmm i do both... i think they do similar but slightly diff things...IMO pilates is more toning workout, core muscle strength, will help with keeping muscles toned and general fitness etc. I like the reformer bed and the mat classes for that.
Yoga - I like this for the relaxation and stretching, breathing and ideas for positions in labour to ease pain. i guess it also helps with general toning etc, but to behonest I have found pre natal yoga classes quite 'light on' (i usually do bikram yoga which is quite a full on workout when not preg) and more focused onmaternal well being - which is great but not an intense/fitness workout. There are active birth yoga classes that are def about prep of mind and body for natural birth.
That's my opinion and experiences with the classes I have done.. both are worthwhile so go with what you think you will enjoy.
