There is second trimester screening that is done from a blood test: it gives you your risk figure for T21, T13/18 and neural tube defects (like spina bifida). The blood is collected between 15 and 18 weeks of pregnancy.

Most people in Australia are now having screening during first trimester (blood test and ultrasound), and therefore don't need screening at 2nd trimester.

You only have one lot of screening using blood test, either 1st or 2nd trimester screening but not both.

The 20 week ultrasound (that can be done from the 19th week) looks at the bub's organs and limbs and checks that everything looks ok.

Can you remember having a blood test at around 10 weeks, and an ultrasound at 12 weeks? Were you given the results of screening?
Hi Kate07

After reading all post I am relieved there is not need for 15th work blood work.
