Does anyone else feel so unorganised for baby?

I know I'm still only at 31 weeks, but I feel there is still so much to do in prep for this baby. The room still needs to be set up and I really need to go through DD1's old clothing to see what I can reuse and wash (that is a huge job in itself!!).

Then I havent started thinking about my hospital bag or what I want to bring with me for pain relief and distraction. This is worrying me alot.

On top of the baby, I have so many other things to think of. I have uni exams starting this week (why I decided to continue uni while pregnant no one knows, stupid stressful idea) and I have to decide when to finish up at work.

I really feel like this baby will come earlier this time, I cant explain it I have just felt this the whole way. My belly has dropped like no tomorrow as well and thats scary.

To top it off DH is so relaxed about it all, I wish I could be the same but I am actually starting to panic!

Anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all at the moment!!????

Actually... I'm kinda bored with how I have nothing left to do for now I folded all the clothes tonight that needed putting away - though they all need to be washed once we get a proper washing machine (must get hubby onto that!)

Then again, I don't work or study, so I have nothing to do in the days anyway but obsess over what needs to be done for baby. Plus we already had a heap of stuff for Ianto so it was just about getting it all into the right places rather than buy stuff, etc...

Darling you will get it all done!!
I also am bored because I have finished the nursery etc but still feel like you!! I don't feel like I am ready but if she came now we would be fine! Such a strange thing!
It'll be a LOT easier once your exams are done and work is finished... Then it'll only take a few days to prepare everything!! I finished exams about 2-3 weeks ago and had to ration out the stuff I had to do for bubs so I didn't get bored!! Lol, didn't take me long at all to have it all done.

So don't stress! Just wait until uni is over n then worry about it!

    Xx

AT 31 weeks I felt pretty disorganised; had packed a very basic hospital bag but not much else. The DH's nesting instinct kicked in one Sunday and it all got done in one day, the biggest of the stuff anyway. And it was only about 2 weeks ago that we could say we were ready - when the curtains were up in the nursery.

It'll be fine though. Get through your exams; the rest will fall into place.

Yep, I feel terribly disorganised. We are still yet to paint the baby's room from the horrible yellow colour it is at the moment. Baby has no change table or chest of drawers and I'm not sure when we will be able to afford to get those, so I still haven't washed his clothes because I have no where to put them besides in his cot. He doesn't have a car seat yet because DD is still in it, and I have to get her a booster seat to swap them over. We don't even have a car to put it into, which is why we haven't done anything about it yet. I havent even thoguht about buying nappies or anything for hospital, or what to pack yet. Though I'm not quite 30wks yet, I just feel totally disorganised.

At 37 weeks I had nothing organized much to my concern and frustration at DH. He kept telling me we had a few weeks. At 37+1 my waters broke so I immediately sent DH off to pick up the car seat and get it installed. Whilst he was doing that I packed my hospital bag.

DS is now almost 14 weeks and his room is still not ready but he's in a basinette in our room so it's working out fine.

Good luck with your exams and then focusing on your babes arrival.

I didn't have a room for DS, I just had DD's cot in my room but we ended up co-sleeping. As far as packing I had 3 or 4 of both 00000 & 00000 suits in a bag. Everything else for hospital got packed when my waters broke.

ETA- we put DD's new carseat in the car 2 weeks before DS was born because she vomited in the convertible one & I had to take it out & wash it. We put it back together & back in the car just before we left for the hospital

Yes i'm only 27wks but feel very disorganised. I think i'm also stressed about everything being more crazy this time round ie having a 2 yr old to clean up after constantly as well. i'm trying not to let it worry me to much but can't help it. I'm still working as well and with xmas and new yr taking up so much time it feels as though i won't get everything done. Having said that i just want dh to do the moving of furniture etc and get the main stuff done so that when i give up work i can spend time on the finishing touches such as washing and folding clothes. I don't want to be totally bored at the end. Dh is away until next monday though and by then i will be in the third trimester so will definatly be trying to achieve some major stuff then.

Lucky the only thing a newborn REALLY needs is milk and somewhere to sleep, lol! Oh and clean clothes I guess, hehe!

Eek! I am 31 weeks this week and wasn't worried at all until I read this post and realised, I have no idea when I should have my bags packed and everything ready by?!
    :-)

And we are moving house in a couple of weeks too so I can't do anything about bub's room until our settlement is done and we get our keys. Then have to get DH to paint it and set it all up etc. (tho I do have all the clothes washed and only 2 things left on my shopping list)

Not to mention having whooping cough or Bronchitis, I won't find out which I have til I get my results this week!

So I know how u feel xoxo

Hun, the most important thing for you to do is rest by the sounds of it. If all you need is a couple of things for baby then I wouldn't be at all worried. As for hossy bags, with DS I didn't pack mine til about 38ish weeks. As I said before all a newborn really needs is boobys or bottles, enough clean clothes to wear and a place to sleep (which can be your bed!). Just rest up for now, it sounds like you have a really big few weeks ahead, not mentioning a new baby coming!!

I have a room full of empty cardboard boxes. With a pram in it. So, nope, not organised. We do have clothes but they either need to be seriously washed or still have tags attached (and still need to be washed). I finished uni a couple of weeks ago and we moved house that weekend so it's taken a while to get the house organised. I still feel like I have aaagggeeeesss to go though! But I guess it's not really that long!

This is totally us. Planning a HB we've had stuff we had to get sorted, like the birth pool, and we've managed to do that. I've finally got all bags packed and clothes and things pretty well sorted though I think this baby will need more clothes... but I'm planning on just waiting and seeing what we want/are given now. We haven't set up any baby space- they willsleep with us so that's that really I've focused on having loads of meals in the freezer, and my post-natal care sorted instead this time!
