Just a general question. I was told this morning at my antenatal visit that my belly was a bit small. The Dr measured my fundal height which i know isn't a sure indicator and it was only 25cm, so anyway i am booked in for another scan on the 24th Oct.
My question is what do they do if the baby is on the small side? The Dr just said we will wait for the U/S results and take it from there.
Any past experiences would be great.
I had a small belly at around this stage of PG...
At around 37/38w preg, I had a MW appt, and they measured my fundal height, which was the same as the previous measurement about 2 weeks before, so i was told to have a US that day. So i had the US and my bubby was measuring a bit smaller than what was hoped. I was told to come back the next monday so we can talk about induction etc etc. That saturday I went into labour and gave birth on the sunday, so didnt have to have the induction.
I know slightly different to your situation, as they probably wouldnt induce you at this stage if your baby was too small, but they may monitor you for a bit.
It is pretty scary hey, i remember that day and i was scared that something was wrong with my bubby (The MW hadnt explained properly, til after the US, i guess she didnt want me to stress out) but i had the US, then hooked up to a CTG for a hour or so to monitor baby's heartbeat and movement...
Isabell was born 48cm long, and weighing 2.8 kilos..
i was hardly even showing at 27 week with #1 and small with #2.
I would be too worried if you scans are ok.
I am measuring 2 week behind with this pregnancy (was anywhere from 3-4 weeks behind with DD). nothing wrong had all the checks just a little bub (5lb 13)... will see what this one is
Hi,
I wouldn't worry too much. I was small with all of my pregnancies and with my last I had a scan at 36wks as my ob thought bub was going to be very small and she actually measured 38wks, so don't stress yourself too much.
