    Surgery in second trimester

Hi my names Nat and I am just over 13 weeks pregnant with D? #2. I have got a very large tumor on my right ovary and the specailist said that it needs to be removed and that 16 - 18 weeks is the safest time for the baby. I have been in and out of hospital and hospital to which the doctors have wanted to do the surgery but I have told them no and that they are to wait until it's safe for the baby. The surgery will be preformed in approx 3 weeks and I'm petrified!! They have done some tests called tumor markers and one has come back positive so there is a chance that it's cancerous so that in itself is a concern as I won't be able to have chemo if needed as there is no way I'm 'getting rid' of the bubby as it has been suggested in that event. I am so so scared for my baby and am concerned about the 8 - 12 weeks bedrest / recovery. If there is anyone out there who has any helpful hints or positive stories that would be muchly appreciated as I am really worried and need to calm down. Thanks for reading! Take care.

Natwantsababy, I had to reply to your post. I have not had a similar experience. What you are going through must be terrifying. I am sure there is someone on here at can relate to your post and give you some information.

I will hold both you and your baby in my thoughts and prayers.
