Swine flu vacine

Hi, I am only 8.5 weeks but went to my dr/shared carer during the week for ususal check up and he mentioned that I will need to have the swine flu injection when it is released shortly (I heard it on the news/radio that morning also).

Im confused whether we have to have this as have had conflicting advice from some people saying yes as the risks of not having are too high and then others saying no to never vacinate with a flu injection whilst pregnant.

im starting to really stress about this and what to decide when the time comes.

Does anyone have any postive information on this to help make a more informed decision.

You don't have to have it - it's entirely up to you. I don't know much about it, so I can't really help there. I know I am not getting it, because I am too far along in my pregnancy now to bother with it. If I was considering getting it though I would want to know the full list of possible risks and side affects.

This is up to you & if the doctor doesn't give you enough information perhaps look into it some more yourself. I myself would NOT be getting.
There is actually a thread on this started a couple days ago if you search it.....I believe the majority said No.

Hi lesh3 here is a link to the thread Erin_25 was referring to.

I personally won't get the vaccine I feel it has been released too quickly and just don't think enough research about the effects long term and short, it could have specially for unborn babies.

I said it in the other thread and I have to say it again, i believe the reason my DD2 has severe allergies is because I was given the flu vaccine whilst pregnant. I have read up on it and there is an ingredient (thermisol) that is linked with allergies/asthma/autism/adhd which is in flu vaccines. Not sure about swine flu vaccine though. but from my research I am convinced this is the reason. So definitely read up on it.

Thanks so much, I have read the other thread. Have no idea what to do will do some more research and see but the main feel I have from everyone on here is not to get it.
