Hi all...has anyone taken Ausran during pregnancy? I have started getting reflux in the last week or so and my OBS put me on Zantac for the first week but just gave me a script for Ausran yesterday...I read in the leaflet though that it's not recommended during pregnancy. Does anyone have any experience with this one?? I took one tonight because the reflux has been horrible but want to do some more research tomorrow...
i got a heap of heart burn when pregnant, (not sure if its the same sort of thing) but i found the quick-eze liquid satchels worked well for that.
if your really worried about it, try calling 13 health you get to speak to a nurse, its my most popular 'help' number.
good luck.
(the things we go through for these kids!!)
Yeah I've had heart burn for months (same as last time) but the reflux is much, much, much more painful and the quickeze/mylanta etc don't do anything for it.
I have been perscribed ranitidine which is the generic name of ausran and zantac (they are brand names it should be written on the box the actual drug name. Ranitidine must be safe as my GP prescribed it for me in this pregnancy and in my last, I am a nurse and it is categorised as B1 which just means that only a limited number of women have taken it during pregnancy but studies have shown that in that small amount of women it was safe and lab tests showed it was safe. It is up to you though whether you take it or not. Maybe check it with your GP.
