I got back my ultrasound pics this morning from my 20week scan and i'm so dissapointed. There isn't even one picture of the baby!! All I can see by the description on them is heart/leg bones/placenta etc.
I didn't get a "nice" picture of DD either with her ultrasound and I didn't even get one "nice" pic of this baby!
I see everyone elses ultrasounds and they all nice pictures and can see an actual baby laying there. I don't even have that! I can't see hands/feet anything!!
I'm so dissapointed. I know all is healthy with bubs but i was looking forward to it.
Oh sorry to hear that Jen.... I think it depends a lot on the skill of the ultrasound operator. I got beautiful pics at my 12 and 20 week u/s, but I was going to my ob regularly who had a whizbang ultrasound machine and do you think he could even take one decent photo?? I think that the operators at the us place were just so good that they could hit print at exactly the right moment. Sorry you didn't get nice pics. Did I see you are looking for an ob? You might get lucky and find an ob who uses us and takes a decent us picture.
Hope you got a good look at your new little person and maybe even found out if it is a boy or a girl!
We didn't get a very good 20 week ultrasound of DS either - just a tiny flimsy paper printout, and cause he was in an awkward position you couldn't make much out.
Have you looked into getting a 3D/4D scan done? I don't know much about them personally, but the pictures from them are amazing! You can get video done too I think?
That's a real shame. I know this doesn't help much but sometimes sonographers are too busy with all the measurements and just doing their job that they forget that it's really exciting for you. I found that I had to ask mine for pics otherwise I wouldn't have got any. Like you said though, at least your little one is healthy and before long you be looking at the real thing. Sending you hugs. I would feel exactly the same way.... Is there any way you could get another scan a little way down the track?
It sucks doesn't it. We didn't get any good pictures at DD's 20 week ultrasound either. I had good ones of DS and wanted DD to have good ones to look at when she got older as well so I went and got a 3D scan done at 30 weeks and got some great pictures. I hope you can have another scan or a 3D one to get some good pics.
I know how you feel, I got a crap picture at my 20 week scan that came out half crinkled because it got jammed in their printer! I'm thinking about having the 4D scan but I think its a little expensive?
That sucks that you didn't get a good photo. Where my mum works, if they get a complaint about the quality of the photos, they get the customer to come back free of charge for a 3d photo.
That really sucks! *BIIIG HUGS* We didn't get a decent 20wk scan with DS either, but then we had lots of other scans up until 33+1 weeks due to Braxton Hicks contractions that pretended to be the real thing from 15 weeks onwards... which is really right off the topic altogether lol
The hospital where we had the u/s done also had the 3D scanning combined in it and a free DVD too. It would be great if every hospital did that, most of our scans were free too, so that worked out well.
That's bad. I was glared at during one scan because I asked if I could see the baby's face... no picture from that scan either. Never mind, another 20 weeks and you'll be able to take all the photos you want of your baby!
Actually, I can only see Liebling on the scan pictures because I know what I'm looking for. You can't see it otherwise. Ah well, I have good ones now.
I was pretty dissapointed with my 20 week scan as well..which seems really stupid as our baby has a problem with her kidney and they were looking hard at that and other organs, I guess thats what it is for...BUT... as a mummy you want and need that picture..
I would say go for another in the 3rd trim, maybe even a 3D, but that really depends on bubs position as to whether they can get a good picture as well.

oh how dissapointing for you. Hopefully you can get a 3D scan done to get some clear pics of your beautiful baby.
