Tell Me About Your baby Showers...

I know im getting ahead of myself ...

Im wondering who planned your shower?
How long did it go for?
    Did you register somewhere?
    When did you have it?
How many people did you invite?
    What activities did you do?
    What food did you serve?

LOL so just a few questions...

There are a lot of interstate people that i would be inviting so i want to get invitations out in the next month or two to give people plenty of time to make travel arrangements if they wish to come. Id like to have a part in planning my own (just so i can do up pretty invitations haha) ... So any info you have would be great

    TIA xo

Im wondering who planned your shower? My friend planned mine with DD. This time we are just having lunch and whoever wants to come can and whoever wants to get something can.
How long did it go for?I had had enough after 2 hours. I was heavily pregnant, sick and had a horrible night I just couldn't wait to have my own house back!
Did you register somewhere? No - just had a poem about needing essential stuff.
When did you have it? 7.5 nearly 8 months pg.
How many people did you invite? hmmmm about 25 i think?
What activities did you do?Pin the dummy on the baby, pin the DH on the sheep (DH is kiwi, was to have a bit of fun involving him LOL), nappy relay.
What food did you serve? slices, little cakes, cheese, fruit, dips.

Just from a planners point of view

who planned your shower? I never had one but have had fun planning 'surprise' ones for loved ones
How long did it go for? 2 - 3 hours
Did you register somewhere? no...I sort of sussed out what the person needed...even suggested cash as a pressy to go towards a big item. We evne had a cloth nappy deomonstrator at one
When did you have it? at mutual friends house
How many people did you invite? 20 approx
    What activities did you do?
    - ice cubed babies (little babies are frozen in water and given out...first one to 'give birth' is the winner)
    - got the pg woman to get up and race each other to put a cloth sqaure nappy on a doll
    - had some letter that I pulled out one at a time and made people tell me a baby product with that letter.
    - most of the time we chatted and laughed.
What food did you serve? Everyone brought a palte as it was a lunch thing...yummy

All fantastic info here ladies!! Thanks!

Cash is a great idea Maz, i think if i were to go down that path id make it completely annonymous so if people couldnt afford it they wouldnt feel bad IYKWIM? Plus im not too fussed on the actual pressies i just cant wait to get together with all my family & friends & ooo and aahh over the bubba

I always go overboard with food didi will try my best not too, am thinking of making it in the arvo so might just do cakes & things like that

Im wondering who planned your shower? My sister in law
How long did it go for? about 2 and a half hours
    Did you register somewhere? Nope
When did you have it? I was 37 weeks
How many people did you invite? Approximately 20.
What activities did you do? We did guess how many jelly babies in the bottle, guess the melted chocolate in the nappy (funny watching everyone say it looks like real poo!) Saying letters of the alphabet and you have to say answers to do with pregnancy/babies, whoever has the most letters at the end wins. And how big is the mum to be's belly, measured with string and they guess by cutting string to how long they think it is.
What food did you serve? Chocolates, mini donuts, a platter with dip, carrots, cabana etc, and sandwhiches.
