For those of you that grew extra facial hair while pregnant....

....did you get rid of it?

I grew a sort of beard (so attractive) while PG with DD. It was blonde, longish hair under my chin on my neck. It really annoyed me but given I was PG over the cooler months, I decided to leave it be and it disappeared once DD was born (within 3 months).

Well my beard has returned this pregnancy but there are a few dark hairs now and TBH, I'm not dealing with it very well. It's not obvious all the time but on a nice sunny day, there is no hiding it I need to get rid of it but I'm so scared it will be something I'll have to upkeep.

I get my eye brows and lip waxed every 6 weeks so I'm not new to waxing but the thought of waxing my neck freaks me out despite my beautician assuring me it will be fine.

Has anyone else been faced with this during pregnancy? How did you tackle it?

I got loads of chest and tummy hair as well as facial hair. Still have a gorgeous little goatee that I pluck: I had it lasered too (along with my moustache) which made it less noticable, but didn't get rid of it entirely.

Waxing sounds ideal! I plucked and it could get pretty painful, I have had waxing done and it does not hurt as much as plucking. If it's just 2-3 hairs then plucking should be fine (which is my goatee now), but more than about 7 (ie my moustache) you want waxing.

Mine gets worse each pregnancy. I usually just tweeze it (although it can take a while to get it all cometimes). Another option would be to use one of those hair removal crams for sensitive skin.

Thanks girls. It's a tough one to deal with! The random few dark hairs are easy to tweezer, it's the blanket of blonde hair on my neck that really worries me (ok, blanket is a slight exaggeration but there's quite a bit of it!).

If I wax 'hormonal' hair, will I have to do it forever or is the extra hair likely to disappear, as it did once DD was born, even if I wax it?

I know I've got to do it this time I guess I just want to prepare myself for the aftermath, so to speak

If it's a pregnancy related thing (which is pretty common) is should go away once bub is born like it did with your last pregnancy. It's a myth that wax/plucking makes hair grow back darker and/or thicker.

Try not to wax if you can, it pulls on the skin and can cause sagging later in life. I would go with plucking...

Yeah, this, I have a patch of permanently wrinkled skin on the underside of my chin from waxing. It will never go away.

Laser or Elios. both probably cannot be done until bub is born though.

Really?! Well I certainly don't want that on my neck! I'll end up looking like a turkey! Maybe I'll just use a hair removal cream. Are they safe in PG?

TMS - yeah, that's what my beautician keeps telling me. I should know better given I've been waxing for so long and it definitely hasn't promoted hair growth or darker hair. Don't know why I'm so worried given that

Glad to hear I'm not the only one!
I'm currently pg with #3 and I am shocked at the rate the hair is coming this time around!!
It has definitely got worse with each one . Tweezers are my new best friend.
