    tummy bug

i know that having a tummy bug doesnt usually affect your baby (unless you get dehydrated) but i have had the runs since friday afternoon (it is now sunday morning). i wouldnt be worried expect for the tender and painful abdo i have at the same time. that part of it does seemed to have gotten better since i woke up this morning but i am wondering if i am still sick and still getting the painful tummy should i see a GP? it is sunday too so i would have to get a call out GP (who are usually crap) or go to the emergency at the hospital and wait all day. what do you guys think?

Can you call your obstetrician or midwife? I think I'd do that, if I had a sore tummy for whatever reason.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Holly, hun... I had one a few weeks back and they suck!!! My doc said that they usually last between 48 and 72 hours, so you're still within that range. I would get some gastrolyte or hydrolyte from the chemist though and have that which is perfectly safe. It will replace salts and minerals you are losing and rehydrate you better than water on it's own.

Hope you feel better soon hun.

well i was fine all sunday then sunday arvo became nauseous and the mid to upper abdo pains came back so i thought stuff it and we went to the hospital. sat around forever, got told it was just the tummy bug. they did a wee in a cup and blood test but havent heard from them yet so that means it all came back normal. they used the doppler and bub seems fine so thats a relief. when we got home i did a massive vomit and have felt heaps better since then. ahh, pregnancy, its such a time of worry. oh ihad one of those hydralyte ice blocks, they are absolutely disgusting! LOL
