    Waiting...what did you do?

What did you do to keep yourself bust while waiting for your LO to arrive?
I've been soooooo ready for this baby to come for weeks now and my due date has come and still here waiting.
I've been cleaning, shopping and doing all sorts of other things.

    So - WDYD??

I re-read the Twilight series - only got half way thru book 3 when the LO made his appearance and then it took me a few good weeks to get them all finished!
The last few weeks are horribly slow aren't they?

I had a bath with DD tonight and just sat there admiring the beautiful little princess I have and a little sad knowing that I will have to share her soon. I know she'll be a great big sister but she'll always be my little princess.

Make sure you're out as much as possible so that when your waters breaks someone else has to clean it up only joking.

I spent lots of time on my bottom sadly due to bed rest enforced by my Ob but in hindsight it was a lovely luxury.
I love to cook in those last weeks - both times it happened.
    reading
scrapbooking - both of which didn't involve much movement

    Happy 40weeks Sunshine!!!!

go through all your photos on the pc. Edit/delete the crap ones and actually print the good ones and put into albums. That should keep you busy for awhile....

Do ALL those things now, that you KNOW you won't have time to do when bub arrives.....

Enjoy your last few days (or hours LOL) of being pregnant.... such a special time. Those big kicks and baby hiccups.... so cute.

    Good luck!!

ps I went 7 days over due, that was hard waiting!

have something special planned to reward yourself for every day you go over. eg: go to the movies in the middle of the day, book yourself in for a spa pedicure (bliss for sore, swollen feet), go and get haircut at an expensive salon you wouldn't usually go to.

I had some 'baby projects' to work on - I 'scrapbooked' each of my girls' names with one letter to a frame to hang on their bedroom wall, sewed a cover for the wicker bassinet I had, wrote my baby shower thank yous. It was nice to have 'baby' things to do.

I tiled our kitchen splashback when I was 38-ish weeks with my first DD! lol see if you have any unfinished projects like this to work on.

cook some big meals and freeze the leftovers for after bubs arrives.

Good luck! your LO will be here soon and you'll forget how these last weeks dragged by!

I spent lots of time doing special things with DD1. It was very bitter sweet as I knew those final weeks were the last time it would be just her and I.
I also just enjoyed being pregnant as we aren't sure if we'll have more than 2 children. DD2 arrived at 39 weeks so I didn't have as long as I thought anyway!
    Enjoy these final weeks!

lol.. I am already struggling to amuse myself and I still have over 4 weeks left..
So far I have made all the baby anouncements, I just need to add the photo and fill in the details.
I have filled our massive freezer with food.. that took only one day I've baked lots of cakes + cut them up and froze them for dh when he is at work or hungry
I have re-done dh's baby albums, his were very acidic and turning yellow so I took them off his mum, redid them and gave them back.
I've joined my mums craft group where I just sit there for a few hours, I dont do much but it fills in a bit of time.

Things I still may do will be:
    Clean out the book shelf
Go through storage and sell all my unwanted things on ebay..
Mop and Vaccuum a few more times
and of course, what I have been doing the most of already, sitting in the babies room, staring at the wall.. just waiting.

Just enjoy it hun. I had DD2 a day early, but even that felt like forever! I would keep busy by playing with DD1, or going out to lunch with friends. Just keeping really busy, and making sure I rested as much as possible as well.

Are there any tasks you always wanted to do but couldn't find the time?

I haven't done a wedding album yet - that was my plan while waiting for DD to arrive. But I kept getting distracted - my sister had her first when I was just 5wks pg so I spent a lot of time at her house, hanging out with my gorgeous 7mth old niece, my sis and my mum.

Do you have family/friends that are off work that you could harass? Just go and hang out? Have cups of tea, whatever?

Or go shopping - even just wander around the shopping centre, take as long as you want, look at all the lovely clothes and shoes you'll be wearing again soon. Going shopping uninterrupted will be a thing of the past soon...

Sleep in! Have LOOOOOOOONG showers or baths! Wash you hair every day! Read a book all day on the couch... if you're that kind of person! These are all things I miss from before DD arrived.

I love the photo idea of Lulu's! Wish I had done that!!

If you are trying to get that beautiful little one out sooner rather than later then you can try sitting on a fittness ball and bouncing from side to side (helps with a quick labour as it helps your muscles to open up) have sex a lot!!! Have curries, go for some nice walks. If you dont want to get the bub out sooner then maybe just try to enjoy the time you have and get some sleep and organize the nursery and maybe cook some dinners for the next few weeks for your DH (when you are in hospital he will need all the help he can get and when you get out the last thing you want to be doing is cooking!!!) I found it really helpfull having a heap of meals in the freezer. Good luck!
