How much weight should I have gained?
My OB says baby is small enough for 'concern' as he put it but baby is steaming ahead and has a very strong heart beat
but apperntly my breasts havent changed size and i still fit into my size 10 jeans without stretch and weight gain is minimal.
How much should i have gained?
I'm anaylising every aspect of this pregnancy because tigers my first but I can't help being concerned.
thanks girls
At 8 weeks, probably very little. The recommended weight gain in the first trimester is only a kg or 2 (so that's up to week 13). Some women lose weight in the first trimester because they have such bad nausea and vomiting. The weight begins to really go on mid-second trimester and third trimester, and the total recommended gain is around 12-15kg if you were around your optimal weight when you began (if you were underweight, you might put on more. Overweight, you might put on less).
I'm now 24 weeks, and I only put on about 2kg up to 16 weeks. It's all coming on now then.
I think if your doc is concerned about size, it's not to do with how much you are eating or how much weight you have put on, but more about the whether your bubba is developing at the right pace.
I didn't put on anything in the first tri and didn't start showing until about 19weeks.
Breast size didn't increase at all until after the birth when my milk came in. I was able to wear all the same clothes and bras throughout most of my pregnancy.
I have lost nearly 8 kgs, so no weight gain here! Combination of continual vomiting and loss of appetite have made me fit into my 'thin' clothes. Doctor is not worried as baby is doing fine.
hahaha i have not stop vomiting
and hardly ate with my scare.
probably very bad but ive been like pedantic today and with my cooking background am preparing a delicious healthy dinner.
No doubt DF will complain, his ideal dinner is a 1kg steak no veg. Such a bloke.
I lost the only kilo I gained in the first trimester by 16 weeks and at almost 23 weeks, I've only put on 3kgs. I'm 163cm tall and currently 63kg and had a pre-preggy weight of 60kgs. I expected to weigh a lot more by now given I have a decent bump already, my boobs are bigger than ever and I'm sure my butt has 'developed' a bit more but nope, only 3kgs. My OB and midwife are not fussed at all as Tarko is growing, is healthy and the right size and that's all that matters.
I'm still confused how I've escaped significant weight gain but hey, I'm not complaining
That early you shouldn't really have put any on. I lost weight in the first tri and at 20 weeks was my pre pregnancy weight then I started to put it on after 20 weeks. According to my OB that was perfectly normal.
