    Weight loss after the baby

I am having bubs in less then 6 weeks. Now I know I am a bit early in asking this but better early to get started on the motivation.

I am feeling huge and being my normal size seems so far away. Would love to see some before and after pics so I can have some hope. Yes, now.. feel like I need it.

Now I am not looking for diet advice.... I am having a C section so it will be all about my diet before exercise starts at the 6 week mark.

I am just looking for a few websites or pics that show that yes it is possible. I gained like 5 kilos with my first dd. This one has been like 15!!

Thanks for looking and HUGE thanks if you can help. : )

Hi - how exciting, only 6 weeks to go! I can't show you any photos but can share my story - I put on about 13-14kgs with my pregnancy and had a c-section too (breech bubba). About one week after the birth I had already lost 10kgs, and by about 4 weeks had lost the 'baby weight'.
Currently bubba is 6 months old and I weigh about 23kg less than when I gave birth - so about 10kgs less than when I fell pregnant (I was carrying a few extra kgs due to IVF).

So yep, you can get rid of the baby weight hun!

    My tips:
    - breastfeeding if you can
    - drink lots of water
    - try to eat healthy
    - gentle exercise

but I must add that a lot can be due to good genes

    Good luck!

eta though I've lost the weight I still need to tone a LOT, so really need to do some weight bearing exercises!! Must.. find.. motivation....

I don't have before and afters, but I hit close to 94kgs with DS, and now I'm back to 74kg, have been for yonks with little to no effort...

Advice from one sista to another... breastfeeding is your friend

Breastfeeding does help as it burns up calories but at the end of the day it's only up to an extra 400-500 calories that you need so if you're eating more calories than you burn you won't lose the weight or put on more even. So yeah enjoy the treats but don't go overboard, just stick to healthy eating, healthy snacks and gradually build up your exercise. The main tip is to drink LOTS of water!

I put on weight after having DD even though I am breastfeeding because I snacked too much and the snacks were bad like chocolate, biscuits, sweet bread, etc. Once I cut that back and started exercising I lost the weight I put on plus a few extra to take me back to my pre kids weight.

I put on 25+ kilos with DS and was back to normal by the time he was 9 months old - that is WITHOUT any exercise or special diet. I was breastfeeding fulltime though. With DD i put on 15 kilos and i'm back to normal with no exercise or diet and she is 15 weeks old, again, i am breastfeeding full time. I will add that this time around, even though the scales say the same amount i'm definately a bit "looser" around the middle. If i can find some pics i'll come back and post them for you. xx

I gained over 30kgs with Jacko and lost 16 of that in the first week... the rest is slowly but surely coming off and I have 6kgs to go before I'm at pre-bubba weight. He's just turned 5 months and I haven't been doing anything in particular- I joined WW, but I haven't followed it very well BFing weight loss has just kicked in now I think
