Ok it has been 5 years since I bought breastpads
My boobs are natorious for leaking big amounts
last time when i was feeding I found the Dove Brand of Breastpads really good, but when i went to get some- i cant find them anywhere!!!
So my question is- has anyone seen Dove Breastpads anywhere and if not, what brand of breast pad would you recommend. I dont like the ones with the fake nipples, and i prefer disposables as i am great at loosing them!!
So what works for you guys?
would love to hear your feedback!
With DD, almost 9 years ago now, I used J&J, but found that they stuck to me. I had hoped it wouldn't be the same this time round, but when I used them again this time, I found they would still stick to my nipple..Ouchies!!
I buy the rite aid ones. Love them, they don't stick to me, individually wrapped, so I can grab a handful if we go away overnight, and I know they aren't touching any nasties.
I have to buy a few boxes at a time, as I can't getthem locally. so when I'm near the store I get a few.
I also got some reuseable ones from Maz, which are beautiful and soft.
I tried J & J & didn't really like them, I now use Pigeon premium breast pads, they are a bit expensive but I find them soft & comfortable & I tend to leak a lot too & never had a problem.
I am a HUGE leaker, and I have let-downs mid feed and all sorts of nice things.
So, for the first 6 weeks I usually go with Pigeon - they have never stuck, have never leaked in public etc, and are soft. Yet expensive at $8-$9 for 24 - but they are my pick.
This time round, for the past 2 weeks I have gone onto just the Coles brand - $5-$6 for a box of 40 - and although they are a little bit scratchier around the outsides - they have controlled my leaking, and I am very happy with them - surprisingly.
I tried J & J with DS1 and swore I would never try them again, they sstuck to my nipples too - was the last thing you need when b/f!
About midway through my b/f journey with DS (so early 2006) the dove breastpads disappeared and I couldnt find them again.
They were the best disposable ones that I'd found too so I was not happy.
The pigeon ones were probably next best but i still found them scratchy after a day or so, so switched to cloth ones.
I recomend getting some, even one or two sets and seeing what the difference is cos the sposies are really pricey and if you're leaking a lot you will go through a lot of them.
