Question Maternity evening wear- know any good online stores?

    Hey guys

I need a dress to wear to SIL's wedding (I'm currently 29-30 weeks pregnant and it's very soon eek). I have been looking in the shops but no luck finding what I want. So, was wondering does anyone know of any good online maternity clothing stores that sell dresses?..I'm kinda after a full length one.

(Sorry mods if I put this in the wrong place).

    Thanks!

Hi Lee I know how you feel I have a wedding to attend on the 18th of October and I am searching for a dress aswell, I also want a long one. I live in country Vic so there are no decent maternity shops. glowmama.com.au has a couple of nice long dresses, I love the mary alice silk halter but I wish I could try it on.
    Good luck

Lee - have you checked out the maternity store in Subiaco? Its on Barker Road, almost on the corner of Rokeby, heading west. Its in the same little block as Maurice Mead and what used to be the old Duck Inn (showing my age!!). Anyway, tiny little store with everything crammed in but the woman who owns/runs it is brilliant, its very reasonably priced and they have some gorgeous evening stuff there.

Perhaps try ebay also, for something someone else has prob only worn once & much cheaper. I have the most stunning dress I wore to a friends wedding when I was 34wks with DS...I got it on ebay & it was just perfect.

Hi Lee, what size are you? I boiught a beautiful long dress to wear to a wedding that was 1 week before my due date in November last year. It's Pea in a Pod maternity brand. It's been worn once for a few hours, drycleaned and now just hangs in the wardrobe. It's black and gold and is really beautiful. I tried many many dresses before I chose this one, I didn't want to look like a big whale and it looked lovely. I had many compliments on the night. I wore a little pair of black and gold flat sandals, had a pedicure so my toe nails were beautiful and simple gold jewellery, and a gold clutch bag, easy really. It cost me $180 but will sell it to you at a drastically reduced price (how does $50 sound) if you're interested. I was going to have it altered but the cost isn't worth it as i don't go to many formal functions anymore! I am quite tall - 5'9' and it's ankle length so keep that in mind and its size 12.

If you have a look at mackaymaternityweardotcomdotau and look at maternity dresses number 51 that it!

Lee, did you find anything? I have been looking also and its all horribly expensive. I will be 37 weeks pg when i have to go to a wedding - the dress code is Romantic Daywear and i was hoping to get something long to cover my cankles. I did ask the bride if i could wear a toga Might check out ebay.

Another option if you have a bit of time is to get a dressmaker to make something for you.... Can work out a bit cheaper if you find a great one...

    Try bridal stores?

I know bridal stores aren't first to come to mind with maternity dresses, but I've made a surprising discovery in that a lot of them have very nice maternity options for bridesmaid style dresses, and it's possible to find some gorgeous things. Look for some bridal stores near you, <a href="http://www.gatheringguide.com/ec/bridal_shops_dresses.html">http://www.gatheringguide.com/ec/bridal_shops_dresses.html</a> is a good way to search, and visit a few to see what you can find. I was surprised.
