    Foot massage in pregnancy

During DS' pregnancy, I was told not to touch the feet... from what I remember it was something about stimulating the uterus. At this stage, that really doesn't bother me!

Is there any truth to this?
Coz I just found a coupon in our junk mail that I'd really really like to take advantage of!

    Hot Stone Pedicure
For those who's feet deserve a break. Starting with exfoliation up to the knee, relaxing leg and foot massage, with hot stones to deeply relax the feet and legs, nail shape and cuticle work and high quality polish

Do you reckon they scrub all the hard skin off your feet too? Coz not only would my feet and legs really enjoy this, but they need that bit done too!

I love foot massages! I had them during pregnancy with a pedicure when I couldn't reach my toes and I wanted my toes to look nice in labour And yes, they will do the whole lot, scrape all the skin off, massage, moisturise, it was just the trick for me!

When I was over due, I did read reflexology may help bring labour on naturally, it didn't

I do believe there are certain trigger points that may help induce natural labour, when you book in, tell them you are pregnant.

I think there are some acupressure points on the feet and ankles associated with labour but I still had foot massages (reflexology) when pregnant and OMG they are the best.thing.ever. The reflexology person always asked if I was pregnant (which was pretty damn obvious) so perhaps they avoided the specific points. Can't see a problem with a pedi, but ring and ask them if you're concerned. Sounds like heaven to me, I am trying to figure out when I can squeeze one in.

Yup there are acupressure points on your feet (and ankles) but they wouldn't touch them unless they were there specifically to do that ITMS? Like, its not just a little rub that they do to stimulate your uterus, its a pressure thing in an exact spot, so I wouldn't be too concerned. DH knows where the spots are and he massages my feet every night. Nothing happening here!

I get a pedicure every fortnight and he does everything they did before. I did however, JUST find out that foot reflexology is allowed in the third trimester!! For me that beats massage even! I am booking in next week. : )

I say do it. You will LOVE it. It is the little things like this that make me feel so gooooood. : )
