When nesting makes you do insane things...

So I'm in the process of doing home improvements without DH knowing... Not that he will care, but it's this uncontrollable urge to just do stuff, mainly stuff that has been bugging me for years.
I will let you know if I'm successful... Cause it could all turn pear shaped =\

But what insane things have you done in the name of nesting??

I attempted to stock the freezer with meals but it took me 2 days to make a spanakopita.

I made curtains the day I went into labour with my first. I hung them 3 hours before my water broke.

I lay awake all night obsessing about my dirty Venetian blinds - got up at 5am to start cleaning!

I built new yards on the stables and a new room on the back of the house (well a builder did that). I did paint said room only a month before I was due. We also got new rainwater tanks at the stables and one new one up the house.
    Weird ...................yep!

Re: When nesting makes you do insane things...

Baby number one I found myself reorganising the hard drive at work - shared files of 28 staff and it was annoying me that nothing was filed consistently. Never bothered me before... but suddenly at 34 weeks pregnant I was staying late just to fix it. Baby was born the next week.

Baby number two I washed windows (in defiance of pelvic instability), emptied, sorted and repacked the walk in robe, linen cupboard, pantry and laundry and cooked till I was having to store stuff at mum's house. I washed the car, cleaned the car seats and had the laundry empty of any washing at all.... (I know!). I said to the receptionist at work that I finally felt on top of things and could now put my feet up... went into labour the next day.

Baby number three I was obsessed with the garden which hadn't been touched in years. I had the worst pelvic instability of the lot, but in just couldn't leave a weed if I saw it. I remember talking to my neighbour over the fence and losing concentration on what he was saying because there was a weed in the path next to my feet and it was bugging me SO MUCH.

    Nesting makes me craaaaaazy.

One of my babies I was on my hands and knees with a knife cleaning out the grooves of the floorboards in the WHOLE house just days before she arrived. I had a vaccum going to suck up the stuff coming out as I scrapped... they were unfinished boards and the grit in the cracks drove me nuts... they looked awesome when I finished! With baby number four I washed and waxed all the blinds and windows in the whole house, along with scrubbing all the walls in every pregnancy... there were many things I did.. I am sure more will come back to me!

I've a list in my head ...I would really love to have the whole house repainted inside. The couch professionally cleaned. All new and matching storage containers for every cupboard and wardrobe. Carpet ripped up and wood flooring laid. Seriously doubt will do any of that, it's all driving me batty though!
