    How often are your appointments?

    Hey guys,

I have gone with a public hospital (Mater Mothers in Brisbane) and I just had my second anti-natal appointment with the Ob. I'm 13w3d and he has made me another appointment in 7 weeks time!! That seems like ages away!! I thought with this being an IVF pregnancy I would be closely monitored. Although, there seems to be no complications at all and my scans and bloods have been perfect.

    Does this sound right?

    Thanks

I am just over 25 weeks at the moment and my hospital appointments are 4 weekly... Before this I was seeing the GP around every 4 weeks also. I am not sure what is normal and what is not.

I'm not sure what's "normal" for IVF, but as this is my second pg I've been a little naughty at going to the doc. So I didn't go much in the fist tri, but I had looked up all the things I needed to do & knew by what date I needed what, like scans, glucose test, my injections etc. In my second tri it's every 4wks up until 28wks, then every 2wks until 34wks (I think) & each week after that. This is through my hosp.
Though I would just check about your scans as there is one between 18 & 20wks, I presume you will need to make an apt...has your doc spoken to you about that? As you will be up to 20wks by next appt.

Yup sounds right to me. I'm pretty sure that I had an appointment this time round with my OB at 13 weeks, then 20 weeks, then midwife at 24 weeks, then OB at 28 weeks - then I moved down here.

And I've seen a midwife down here twice so far and are moving onto fortnightly visits now.

ETA - I should have added that the only difference with my other pregnancies was that I had an appointment with my OB's at around 8 weeks first. But then it was like 12 weeks, 20 weeks, 24 weeks, 28 weeks, 32 weeks, 34 weeks, 36 - 40 is weekly appointments.
