Angry Why are maternity bra sizes so small?

I just found the nicest crop top maternity bra, a pretty floral one with lace that you could wear with a V neck top and it would look like a singlet, here I am think crop top style, yeah they will go up to larger sizes, wrong! The sizes available are 10A - 12C and 12C - 16D. I was a 10E before I had DD so as you can imagine I am a size 10Gigantic plus!

I am finding that even if I do find bigger sizes that the are 12-16 D, DD, E, F... size 10 rarely goes over a C but sometimes up to an E, no where near G or beyond.

Has anyone found nice maternity bras in these kind of sizes? I have been in them for 21 months already and I am a bit sick of the 2 designs I have not to mention I am sure I am getting even bigger this time around.

    Any suggestions?

I remember how frustrating this was when I was pg - I went up to a 14-16DD and I couldn't get them either.

BIG W have some nice ones that are normally in bigger sizes, KMART sometimes have them but I never had much luck - no luck with target either

English undies website such as Figleaves will be able to help.

But I don't feel sorry for you. My breasts were so small during pregnancy that I was in teen trainer bras (no normal bras without underwire and a LOT of padding) and then post-Liebling I was using at least two cloth breast pads just so there wasn't too much of a gap between me and the feeding bra.

Online is the way to go, definitely. I've found a site here that carries lots of sizes, both in regular, maternity, and nursing bras. They tell you how to measure yourself properly too, so you can be sure you'll get something that will fit. The site I use has pretty good prices too, and free shipping for me, but it's a North American site, so I don't know what the shipping costs would be to AUS. It might be worth a look anyways. I'm a 34H normally (is that a 10H in AUS?), so nursing bras are a REAL challenge for me. Google Breakout Bras. All the best!

Hot Milk (google hotmilklingerie) have stunning maternity bras but I don't think they make crop tops. Check out their website and go to the stockist section - there are quite a few stockists in Melbourne.

I've bought mainly Berlie bras. They're far from exciting but they are comfy. However I think they only go up to an E cup. Really, what are the maternity bra creators thinking? Surely they know woman get BIGGER during pregnancy!! Good luck with the hunt.

Its awful isn't it. And they always have heaps of the smaller cup sizes - 'cause guess what bb's get bigger on a majority of women when pg & bfing. Why the manufacturers & retailers haven't realised this is beyond me.

No suggestions, sorry, apart from spending ridiculous amounts of money.

I buy all my bras from Bellaforma. They aren't as cheap as Kmart and the like but have an awesome returns policy.

Oh wow. I just had a look at Bellaforma and they have some really nice bras in my size!

I don't think I have ever paid under $50 for a bra, so the prices to me seem very reasonable.

It looks like there is alot of the Hot Milk brand on there so I might go check out their website too!

Last time I went to Bras and Things they only had one bra in my size in a beige colour, no very nice looking but such a relief for my shoulders so yep I bought it.

I have never had much luck in Target, Kmart etc, I don't find they are supportive enough for my liking, thats on the rare occasion that something might actually fit!

DD try BRAVISSIMO. It is UK based but they are much cheaper than anywhere in Aus even when you include the slightly more expensive postage.
