Red face Would u do it???

well DH has come up with the idea that he wants to take DS to luna park tomorrow...
im excited as i know my ds will luv it too pieces just what he needs a day out with crazy rides and lots of kiddy things to do..
my concern is im going to be walking all day long trains ferries etc.. plus the whole day at the park.. i have been having braxton hicks alot lately and had a scare not long ago.. and alot of bearing down down there iykwim.??
i cant walk long due to having spd n a tilted pelvis ...
i also get alot of pressure n stuff when i walk alot also..
so basically do u think i could go into labour from all this???
i know i sound like a sook and everything but i just wanna know wat u think??
and would u do such a big physical trip at this stage in ur preg.?

I guess it depends how far from home or hospital your are? Are you leaning towards yes or no? Sometimes it's best to go with your gut.

I'm not sure that I would but it depends on how you feel, I'd say that if you're asking the question, you're not feeling very confident about the idea, Could DH go on his own with DS? Make it a boys day?

that's a tough one hun. I guess you could agree to go but make sure that you talk to DH about your concerns tonight and make him aware that there may be times when you need to sit down at a cafe or something for a bit while they go do some rides or something
    Good luck with deciding

Well at the moment it is about you, and for the good of the family you need to be healthy and safe, the newest part of the family is inside you at the moment Maybe you could ask Alan on here what he thinks?

I work with primary aged kiddies & we recently had a trip to lunar park, I opted out because I've got SPD, I know I couldn't be on my feet all day, but then I'd have been dealing with 50 + kids.
If you go maybe just take a seat when you can, take some lunch & maybe have an hr lunchbreak somewhere, walk slowly & try your best not to overdo it. Have you got a support belt? And really comfy shoes?
Or could the boys go on their own?
Only you know what you can and can't manage hun

I had SPD during my pregnancy with DS2. Knowing how it feels, I wouldn't be having such a big day. I don't think you would go into labour from such a big day, but it could really hurt you in terms of the SPD.

Ultimately it is up to you and if you think you would be okay afterwards. Have you thought about letting your DS loose somewhere like Lollipops Playland? We love to do that for my DS2 as he just takes off, mingles with all the kids and has a great time. I sit there and order a milkshake and read the paper while he wears himself out.

Having had spd and early labours don't do it to yourself. Even if you don't bring in labour the strain on your hip could put you onto bedrest.

I agree send your dh and ds for a daddy and son day while you rest ip.

DH and I took our DD to the Melbourne Aquarium when I was about 33wks pg with our DS. I was exhausted by the end of it and he was doing all the running around after DD!

    And I didn't have SPD!!!

I'd be thinking seriously about it... don't let your DH guilt you into anything. As one of the PPs said, you need to think about the newest member of your family!

well i spoke to him dh that is and he said he will look after him and has asked his lil sister(14) to come with us too so that way i dont have to chase him, i have my support band and belt lol...
its very rare for dh to have a day off on the weekend so im guessing he wants to make it a special one, still not over the moon bout walking etc but i suppose one day wouldnt hurt soo much but i have made a deal with dh that he is doing nearly everything as i cant and if he whinges at all there is going to be issues and he said deal...
i will take it easy and prob just sit every chance i can n try and take it the view i guess...
but thanks ladies i appreciate ur input alot!!

I did 12 hours walking at the easter show when i was about 36 weeks, it was exhausting but so nice to see DD have so much fun and it was one of our last moments as a little family of 3 so its a nice memory.

DD is currently busting a gut to go back to Luna Park, DH took her there one day quite soon after i had DS and she has been talking about it every day since. In fact, it was less than 20 mins ago that she asked if we were going there tomorrow! Hahaha...

I would probably go, you will get lots of rest time whilst your DH takes DS on the rides, and Luna Park isn't all that big once you are in there. It is a short walk uphill to get back to Milsons's Point station, which will probably be your most difficult bit, could you drive instead?

I would go. Can you drive in? when we have we have parked over on King George st / bay view st. Over that side anyway. There is a path way down to a walk way that takes you around the waters edge to Luna park. Parking is free but limited as it is street parking. Or you can just pay for parking at Luna park. Also there is a lovely picnic area at one end & really luna park overall isn't a big place you could walk from one end to the other in 4 or 5 minutes. Its more the standing around thats the killer. Being the last weekend of the school hols I would pack a chair! But if you are able to you could go into coney island & just sit while the kids go nuts. When went out kids spent most of their time in there. Take food!! the food is crap & expensive LOL
