Ok so here's the story.
We were told at 19 weeks with my first pregnancy it was a girl. The sonographer was a high up guy and was very sure. I quote 'if you were my wife Id be buying pink', so of course when the time comes, at 41w6d mind you, we had a little baby boy! We were very happy, always thought we would have a boy first, but one thing that did get to me a little was that everyone said 'we knew you were having a boy', well why did they all buy me pink things?? Lol.
So with this one, as soon as people knew we were pregnant it started. Are you finding out this time? What's the point huh? Etc etc.
So what would you guys do? Our morphology scan is on wednesday, I would like to know but don't know if I will be able to trust what they say, so would it be better to not find out so Im not doubting it the whole time? And if we do find out I've already decided I won't be telling anyone we did.
id find out. you can always get a 4d scan later on to double check
ive had 3 right out of 3 so far and seemingly this ones right too, has been the same every scan. we'll see i guess!
I'd find out too. Like skybie said, you can always get another scan further down the track to confirm. I was told correctly for the first two, and have had scans at 16.5 and 20 weeks with this one with completely different people and told girl by both of them so I'm pretty confident that's right too
If you want to find out, then find out and have another scan further down the track to double check. I found out with my second pregnancy, and had them triple check everytime I had a growth scan done - and it was always a different person so I figured that many people couldn't be wrong
I always thought I would find out... now I am not sure, would love to be able to bond and buy stuff but then that surprise and the big announcement at the birth??
I think if you want to find out then you should and then get a 4D scan later on to confirm.
It depends on whether you ultimately want to know what you are having. If you'd like to know, then I say just bite the bullet and ask We found out with my son at 19 weeks, then had it rechecked at our next two Obstetrician appointments as our Ob has his own machine and scans bub at each appointment anyway. We even checked with our daughter at 19 weeks despite knowing before I was pregnant with her that she was a girl, lol (she was an ICSI/PGD princess).
This time around I don't want to know. I want the "It's a ...!" moment when bub is born so I've chosen not to find out the gender. Hubby decided he wanted to know though so he asked at the 12 week scan. Apparently there is a new technique where they look at the angle of the genital tubercle to a horizontal line through the lumbosacral skin surface (lower portion of the spine) and it's generally over 80% accurate. He asked our Ob 4 weeks later and it was still the same gender, hehe. And then he asked again at the 20 week scan. Still the same
