For the women who have successfully used castor oil to induce, what is the dosage you used? Also how long until it triggered labour? I asked the former question in Labour and birth but it is a little quiet over there and I only got a few answers.
At 11:15am I took the 3 teaspoon dose although I was silly and put the oil in the glass first so I only got 2 out of the 3 teaspoons at that time. I took a 3rd teaspoon at 6pm followed by a hot shower. I have had one BM but it was not soft and I feel like I will have another BM within the hour but I am not feeling loose yet. I just had a 4th teaspoon but I am worried about overdoing it. Any tips??
For me it was 3 tsp, but it doesn't always trigger labour...most of the time it doesn't from what I've read. It took 6 hours. But I was 2 weeks overdue and it probably was a big coincidence anyway.
I wouldn't have anymore tonight if it were me, 4tsp is probably the limit I'd go to.
Just remember, it often doesn't work, but that doesn't mean anything, always tomorrow, or the next couple of days I know that's the last thing you want to hear though
Hahaha my waters broke and hour and a half after the last post. At home again to get some sleep and back at the hossy at 8am to deliver a baby!!! The midwife assured me that it couldn't have been the castor oil though
