sounds like you will have a degree in dealing with bureacracy! what a jib to have to go through that! my mum had to have heart surgery in Brissie a few years ago as they did not do that type of surgery in NQ and it was pulling teeth to access the govt remote travel allowance scheme! i hope you get the hang of it soon as i don't think the system will improve - only your ability to see the loopholes. And don't forget to google! you might find a forum where the members have some good tips for you. Have fun with your mumma!!! and your fam! how exciting

Smithy - YYIIIPPPEEE! good luck. no neighbours! sounds devine. I think ours have moved bedroom as last night for the first time in 5 years i heard them coughing, sneezing, snoring at night!!! it's like they were in my bedroom. it freaked me out in my sleepy haze so loving no neighbour plan! lol. When could you move if you took it?

saph - i think the guidelines are to let them be, but don't wrap them if they are rolling onto their belly as they can get tangled or the wrap can bunch under their face. with the cooler weather maybe the time to invest in a sleeping bag thingy. I tend to think let him be, what else can you do that would have him sleeping happily? not alot me thinks. I think that really is the best advice for any mum - whatever they want, just go with it, even if it's against the "rules". and yay yay yay for hips!!!

oh kelly, i'm feeling for you. what you feel is pretty understandable love. But look at what you have! I know it doesn't make it any easier, but we all are on this path for a reason and I believe, for us anyway, its made us stronger and closer in our marriage and more able to treasure DS (not that those lucky for normal conceiving don't treasure but ykwim). And maybe if we didn't have this battle our relationship wouldn't be as great as it is! I really do think it's a case of "door closes, window opens".

Personally i never felt any aminosity to my friends or family who were able to get preg at the drop of the undies because i wouldn't wish anyone to have to go through AC BUT the preg smoking 17yr olds with a snotty, dirty baby in a trolley and a bottle of wine ready to go makes me mad beyond comprehension. and yes, they actually exist out the front of our shopping centre. But also remember your friend will have her hands full! 2 under 2! oh god, now that sounds like a nightmare (says the lady considering doing the same lol).

marcellus - i like your words that it waxes and wanes. I think we'll definitely wait til August to see how we are feeling. Never know, if ash weans himself early then we might just go for it. atm we've decided to enjoy our baby for at least 2 years and then come back for the embies. but doc says i have to go back on metformin a few months before we start to try YUK YUK YUK CACK CACK CACKY. hate that stuff!

neptune - how is ads going? are you running with him in the pram? i've been sssooo slack, after hyperextending both my knees repeatedly i had to stop runnign for awhile and now can't find the motivation to get back out there! boohoo. still have lots of weight to lose too.

green - our unused frosties would go to research. but we are going to use em as we figure we paid for them (read that as "dh is a tight bum and wouldn't ditch anything we'd paid for. yes we are the doggy bag people at the restaurant). But if we happened to have left overs we have opted to give them to research. Like someone else said, I coldn't handle the thought of a little child or ours was walking around with someone else, if they are going to live, then it has to be with me! WE had to choose what to do and fill out forms for our clinic before we started ivf. WE figured research would be helping others still.

did he continue the sleeping extension? i hope so!

All is well here. were thinking of camping for easter but need a portacot; want to go where there's fresh water and no people; and it's raining - so staying home and going another time.

one of my BFFS had a baby boy, named him Augustin - unusual but quite like it :)

Ash seems to have fallen into a pattern at night - goes to bed anywhere from 7.30pm to 9pm and needs me to cuddle him to sleep (i don't mind :) ) then no matter what time he goes to bed wakes at 2/2.30am for a feed and change and then sleeps through to 6/6.30am and then back to bed again!

lovin the rain and can't wait for easter. wonder if the Lindt bunny will visit me :pray:

YES!!! LOTS!!
i'm loving every minute of it, but it makes keeping up with people and persies so very difficult! we are in the midst of a wonder week (yup, she gets the teeth through that are giving her grief, has ONE good night, then the WW kicks in!) - will sleep on me, will sleep in her cot during the day. but at night, try to settle her, she goes into a deep sleep in the bed beside me, try moving her to the cot so that i can sleep comfortably - not a chance! she wakes up, kicks her legs, flaps her arms, is as chipper as anything - no matter how late it is! last night she didn't want to go to sleep so i took her to bed at 9.50 - 11.30 she finally crashed into a deep enough sleep we though we could move her (this was after being put in her bed twice and ending up coming back to feed again and again) - nope! ended up cracking the poos, putting her between us and just closing my eyes. no idea what time she eventually crashed, but she got put in her own bed about 3, slept til 5, had another feed. woke again at 6.50 (10 mins before i was getting up to try and get a shower before DH left for work), feeding for 20 mins, then fighting sleep while i had a quick dunk and DH was still around to resettle her. she has now been asleep since then, but it's not a deep sleep - she is stirring a lot. won't get her up til she wakes properly though as we're going shopping with mum today - the more rested she is the better! lol

this is kinda the pattern for most nights for us - which is getting very tiresome. DH and I have a theory that she wants to be an only child and is trying to put us off the idea of another (or is trying to prevent another happening in her own way!) - she is such a beautiful natured little girl most of the time though - her master plan isn't working! we had a bad morning the other morning when she was tired (17 tanties in just over half an hour) - but episodes like that are so few and far between.... she has moments where i wonder what is going through her brain cos she seems so much older and frustrated with her limitations - but mostly, she is a happy, smiley, chatty, engaging little girl. ahhhh mummy is in love!

so, with all this going on, and keeping up with a couple of friends that have had some issues, helping DH find his place in life now that he can't drive trucks, organising E's birthday and getting ready to go back to work, i tend to read, but just not have time to post persies - it's not that i don't care, i just run out of time!! this thread and my baby buddies stay open all day some days with the intention of getting back to it to post - and nothin!

argh - best away - might have time to post in baby buddies before e gets up! or maybe a hot cuppa... decisions decisions...

lol BG glad to hear she is well. and Yes, this mummy is in love too! I hope she settles down soon regarding the sleep.

Ash was doing something similar... rock him to nearly asleep put him in his cot... screaming awake. so i just rock him til he is good and passed out, then dreamfeed and then put to bed. it means i'm stuck on the lounge for a couple of hours at night, but i'm a tv addict and saw a great doco about the heart last night :) But he usually only does this once a day - mostly the first night sleep and usualy (fingers crossed) once he's down, that's it til the wee small hours.

I can't believe E will be one soon!!! Whenver you get the chance to pop on again, i'd love ot hear what you are planning for her birthday?

And anyone else - what are you planning or did you do for your child's 1st bday? Theres a possibility we'll be on the road driving to our new home for Ds's 1st bday so i'm not sure what we'll be doing. :( i really really wanted to make him a cake tho. we'll see.

he's still asleep! it's so dark and miserable here, i think he thinks its nighttime! lol.

Grub my Dh is the same re use of things paid for and lots of things sort through scavenging (from friends etc). Thanks for sharing your frostie story too :hug: Yes DS sleeps 3x4 hours now at night 7-11 11-3 and 3-7 :leap: happy mummy (15-30min feed in there too). Then apauling during the day. Oh I had a lindt bunny for Nanna but last night it disapeared ;)

Marcellus my sore bit is at the front on the side were a stitch was. ouchy still but a bit itchy so fingers crossed it's healing 7 months is ages, I hope not.

KellyD pg at the drop of a hat has down sides, 3 under 3 4 under 5 (that's my friends) they are so tired and would do anything to have had a little more time in there, before DS I was so envious but now I'm happy it's my call. Well done on organising mums group too.

Saph Linc sleeps in a woombie (sleepsack cos he get's out of wraps) inbetween wedges on his side (I know I know not SIDS recomended but with a windy baby it works better) in a bassinet (for a bit longer) dark room radio on LOUD. Great about Xaviers hips too

OK yesterday was a horror. DSS was suposed to watch Linc who was stiring for 5 minutes while his dad got home and I went for a wax, well I gave him instructions about it's time for a feed etc. DH got home DSS went to his room said nothing. DH though Linc was due for a sleep and when I got home an hour and a half later Linc wasn't feed histerical! OMG. We fed Linc ASAP and DH ripped into DSS, I was so mad but just stayed quiet. He said "I was only going to tell DH if he asked!" because that's what I said. OMG. Did you not hear the screams and did you not think to open your mouth.

So no more baby sitting for DSS and notes will be left for DH. I really was ****ed off though. I also think DH needs to chat to DSS NOW re his feelings I do think he is jelous or something, this is so out of his normally helpful nature.

Linc then was up from 4.30-7.30pm didn't want to sleep, so I just went with it put him on his play mat, he ate double and spewed up but was still hungrey I guess over hungrey. But then got back into his pattern of 4x3 hoour waking. 7am is so much more civilised.

He also seams to go down like a dream at night pat pat out like a light but during the day OMG pat pat sleep, then ahhhhhhhh in his bed, dummy in then ahhhhhhhh with the dummy in, pick up pat pat etc for about 5 mins then out. Who knows what's going on in his head.

Oh how long does it take to change our avitars?

:Doh green your little boy seems to be settleing a lot now ,what a good bubba boy any sleep is better than none hey lol:) AND DSS wellllllll :shakehead: i think to me it sounds like he really needs a swift kick up the back side (how old is he hunny ?) jelouse or not there is no exscuse as im sure you and dh would give him just as much attentions as linc so maybe he just needs to grow up a bit as this is the boy linc will be looking up to his big brother;)hope dh has a chat to him hun and all calms down a bit with him

Grub, E's invites got printed this week ready for me to put magnets on the back and send them out. we had loosely bantered the idea of rainbows for a theme. E has no specific obsessions yet (thankfully) so i thought rainbows would be nice and bright and easy to achieve. i won a half price photo manipulation on FB (gotta love pages that give stuff away!) and gave the girl free reign to do what she wanted - she put a scene together that incorporated E as an angel in a boat, floating in a boat, the earth in the background with a rainbow across it and unicorn as well. it was just perfect - so now we're taking the rainbow/unicorn theme together and using that for her birthday!

we're having a get together here - we have a reasonably sized house and large carport, will set up here, just having a light afternoon tea (homemade sausage rolls, savoury scones, quiches etc), unicorn balloons and stuff. her cake is a present from my ex-boss (who i have remained good friends with) - two layers with a unicorn and rainbow. bottom cake is going to be a swirled choc/white choc mud cake (i hope!), top cake a lighter vanilla type cake (though it will be swirled with chocolate and pink cake as well) that we can remove and freeze to use for a cake smash photo shoot (unless we can arrange photographer for the next day - or i get brave and take them myself).

E's birthday party will wind down and those who want to hang around will be able to hang here for a bit of a late celebration for my 30th. i can't justify putting on two parties in a month and seeing DH is insisting on doing something for my bday, that will do! i have my bday and first mothers day together - why do i need a party as well.

argh! there she goes - better go get her! late nap today cos we were out with mum!

Grub - i read your birth story hun - sounds like a very positive experience for you - well done hun!

and a big hi to everyone else today im off to get some easter shopping done though not much as i find it a waste of money so all the kids can have a new pair of winter pyjammas(sp ) and a small egg,we also seen the house yesterday and we love it:D so hopeing to be mooved in there in 3 weeks time,i really just need to get my head around the thought of snakes :redface:im petrified of them:shakehead: but i suppose ill be ok i mean its the bush what didi i exspect lol.

Hi Girls - just wanted to jump on and wish everyone a happy Easter. Like Smithy, I'm not sure if I will get a chance to get on again.

BG - Jazzy also went through the same thing about a month or so ago - around the time that 3 of her top teeth popped through... must have been in agony poor thing. Hope it improves soon. E's birthday sounds wonderful!

Smithy - got my fingers crossed for you to get that house!

Green - how naughty of DSS - it does sound like a heart to heart is needed. My advice (which you don't need to take) is that your DH take him somewhere to do something that they both enjoy and try and get him to open up about how he is feeling. As the child of a broken marriage and a remarriage I can understand the way he may be feeling, but that does not excuse the behaviour. Blended families are wonderful things, but they do come with their own set of challenges. Hope that you can all get it sorted out and get DSS back to his normal good self.

Hi Marcellus, Grub, BOC, Murph, Saph, BW, Kelly, Neptune and all those that I have forgotten.

AFU - well MIss Jasmine is still sick. We thought she was getting better and then she developed a cough. Took her to doc on Tues and she said the good thing is that everything else is looking better - temp, ears, throat. So it is just the last stage of this virus. But she is not well enough to be a daycare - mainly because if any of the others are sick she would catch it as her immunity is low at the moment. DH stayed home with her yesterday and I am home from work today. One good thing is that the doc is impressed that the virus has not developed into anything more and that although it is taking a long time Jazzy's immunity is fighting the virus on its own with no help from meds. Hopefully this will make her stronger for the future.

Its Jazzy's birthday tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, I still cannot believe that it has been a whole year. She is definitely not a baby any more. She is taking increasing steps on her own which is just amazing. We have not put on a party for Jazzy this year as most of our family are o/s. So we will have celebrations with them when they make their trips over in the next couple of months. We as a family (Me, DH and Jazzy) were hoping to go to Melbourne Zoo and have a picnic tomorrow, but it is really going to be dependant on how well she is... we can do that any day over the long weekend if she is not well enough tomorrow.

Smithy I agree with the easter, we all get new PJ's and a small egg, especially since Campbell shouldnt eat chocolate.

Well Xavier had his needles yesterday as did Campbell and I. Background for you here, Campbell has never cried having his needles he just gives the nurse dirty looks. well Xavier screamed the surgery down. I have never heard anything like it. It was a cross between a baby cry, cat scream, violent fit noise. He was quiet unsettled but then he always is. Doc also gave us a script for losec. Campbell had this when he was about 8 months old and it helped no end. So lets hope it helps Xavier as well. Didnt help last night but then he had the biggest power chuck every. (Also finding it hard to get it into him as he spits it out.) I was sitting in the nursery covered in it calling for Dh as i didnt want to stand up because it would have gone all over the carpet. But he didnt hear me so bundled it all up in my clothes and went to find him. Nice having to have a shower and one o'clock in the morning. We are starting to stretch out the feeds at night Last night it was 9pm, 12.30-1.30 (had to do it twice as I wore the first lot) and then 5.45 its just that I have to resettle him three or four times inbetween these. I am not worrying about trying to fix it at the moment as we go away in 11 days for two weeks. All those of you in Adelaide and Townsville you are about to be invaded. It is our 10th wedding aniversary and I have organised for Dh to be a Zoo keeper for the day at the Adelaide Zoo and I want to take Campbell to see the Pandas. Well this was a bit of a ramble. Hi All

Just wanting to wish you all a very happy Easter as well and a special happy birthday to Jasmine for tomorrow.

I've been really busy lately and with a grumpy baby it's been tiring. We have been getting teething symptoms and Tara has also been getting a bit colicy as well with the solid foods (lots of stinky farts :shhh:) so have had to give her some colic drops as well to get things moving for her. She has also gone back to being a very chucky baby again... She still has the extra thickener in her bottles and even if I thicken up the solids we still get vomits up to 3 hours after feeding, so my washing machine has been working overtime lately with lots of changes of clothes for Tara for me and also having to change her bed linen as well. Don't know if this is because of the teething, the colic or just her being a pig and overeating but it is so yucky especially if we have to go out and both her and me end up smelling of sour milk. I can't wait until she can sit up properly as hopefully this will help to keep everything down for longer. I'm also having fights with her at the moment to have her day sleeps, as she no longer has the dummy she will only fall asleep sucking her thumb and during the day she will only do this if she is put on her side to sleep. Only problem is that once on her side (in the safe sleeper) she still manages to get onto her tummy which wakes her up again and I have to go in to her and start the whole process again. At least at night we are still o.k and by 8pm she is falling asleep on our lap if we don't put her to bed and generally don't hear anything from her until 8am the next day.

Anyway DH has today off work as a public service public holiday so 5 days at home to give me a rest, he is even going to do the full time mum thing one day while he is off to see it is not as easy as it seems. I'll have to let you all know how that one goes.

Janie, DSS is great to me, very helpful and we've always got on like a house on fire, since he was 12. DH and he have been chest beeting on and off for a year now, I guess it's the roster thing :doh: I've said similar to DH but we'll see he seams to focus on what DSS has done not the reason behind it. MEN. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JAZZY

oh saph :hug: Linc had his needles today :cry: it was awful but two nurses so only one pain he loved the oral stuff though (lucky me) but he was hungrey so I guess that helped. wow what a treat for DH I hope he loves it. wonder what you'll get? what is it? copper? (I'm only at 4 here)

KellyD sorry to hear Tara's belly isn't the best and I sympothise with the washing. what drops are you using? DS seams to work best on Braurer for me.

ATM Linc had his needles and is very sooky and sleepy. So loads of cuddles and sleeps. I got a hamock on ebay WHY DIDN"T I GET THIS SOONER. Link is about 3 inches from being too big but he loves it, He hasn't slept like this during the day for weeks, he actually slept an hour before stiring then down for another 40mins. I'm hoping this might ease the horror of Mr overtired at the end of the day (yesterday only a 20min nap 3.30-8.30pm)

DH was happy Linc woke up at 5am I'm not happy cos he didn't go back to sleep till 6.30am then up at 7.30. oh well can't complain really.

Ash rolled over!! twice! He was supposed to be having a sleep as per the little routine he'd settled into over the past 2 or so weeks. but instead cried out a lot so i got him up and he laid on the ground and happily rolled over and played with his hands! His feeds and sleeps have been all over the shop today... he's been awake for a lot longer than usual (which is normally 90mins MAX) so maybe he's finally decided to extend his waking times.

I was getting worried as some days he'd be lucky to stay awake an hour at a time, including feeding, changing times!

i really wish they'd give us their plans a day ahead so we can plan our day too! lol.

mmm choccie choccie. i bought DH some chocs but i think he forgot to get me anything :(

I agree with you about the plan but I would just like it to stay the same for more than one day at a time. we have started on the losec doesnt seem to make a difference but then we are having trouble getting it in. He either spits it out or he throws it up. Still not getting any sleep. Oh well it is very over rated.

by the way , my boy slept from 8pm to 4.45am :) then 5am to 8am, and i got him up and dressed when he calledout, fed him... he fell asleep again! so back to bed at 8.30am. He missed his morning kip yesterday tho so maybe he's a bit tired.

Hi girls!

I'm back in Sydney, trying to keep up the momentum with study, and enjoying Adam at the same time.

Bit of a me post. Having a few probs with DH. I love him so much but he is an obsessive compulsive hoarder.....he has never been officially diagnosed, but I can vouch for the fact we live in a hovel and it is very unsafe and I'm afraid for when Adam can crawl or even be old enough to remember this. We are getting along okay mostly, except I keep breaking down crying which DH gets very upset with me and keeps saying that he is trying to fix it. It is just getting worse and I think that I will have to leave. It is the last thing I want to do, but I have tried everything and nothing works. He won't go and get help because he thinks he has a storage problem only!!! Don't know where to go, might have to get a lease on my own. I'm in the process of writing him a letter to get it all out, because he just shuts me out if I try to talk about it. I'm going to offer for us all to go and rest somewhere, but I know he won't come and he will see it as me abandoning him. I've lived here with him for 10 years and I know he won't do it.

Just a vent, I don't except anyone to come up with magical solutions. I don't want to break up our family, and I don't want to be on my won without him, but it's awful here.

Thanks Smithy and Grub, your thoughts mean heaps. Letters have worked temporarily in the past, so it's worth a shot. After 13 years together though, I think he is overwhelmed but won't ask for help and anything he does to try and clean up is just an attempt to deflect me because he knows that the job is too big. All complicated by the fact that he feels that he needs to fic it himself therefore won't ask/pay for help. If I try to do anything proactive like paying for storage etc, he gives me the silent treatment for days (I do not cope well with this) and I just abandon plans. I think he needs a big shock, but I feel to weak to do it!

Oh neptune, just know we are hear to lend an ear for where ever this bumpy road ahead takes you. It is delicate situation you dont want to alienate him but you do want to kick him into gear to get the help he needs. Big hugs to you.

Oh Neptune :hug: you poor thing, I remember from before Adam was born too, oh I hope you get something sorted out soon, for all your sakes.

He sounds like my FIL.... he's had longer to accumulate stuff and it is scary bad but he really has no idea. I don't know how my MIL has put up with it for so long - I do know she has little breakdowns every now and then. Gosh I do too and DH only has slight tendancies in that area.
He does need a kick in the pants somehow or other so he can get his priorities straight! All the best - we're all here for you however we can be. I hope you can get through to him.

I am on my third change of clothes for the day, Xavier is on his forth, I have changed his bed twice the washing machine has been going all day. DH has just come home from work I am going to bed.

oh saph look at your beatiful boys :D how are you coping with the lack os sleep. DH and I slept in shifts not very romantic but mummy needs sleep too.

Grub linc didn't give me any extra sleep :(

:hug: neptune, hun I'm so sorry it hasn't got any better re DH did you think about talking to someone yourself? I know that's what I'd do. At least you can vent to someone and maybe talk through your options re lease on your own, I know my mum cops all my vents but a professional is good too. Also lifeline? :hug:

Saph (2nd) Xavier pee or vomit? Linc peed like 4 times one day I cried. Now we're in bigger nappies and I check. Bloody boys I don't understand the pee in ANY direction. Hope you slept and slept and slept.

ATM feeling FAT! after baby I felt so good, flat tummy etc. then 6 weeks of no sleep and huge amounts of sugar to keep awake have ended in me probably being hevier and fatter and just feeling like a big detox.

I joined Curves pre baby and will go back starting tomorrow (DH in the door Me out) and I'm trying to limit my sugar intake, (easter is hard) I used to run so I could eat but I'll have to work up to that again me thinks, also the pram I've got is lighter and smaller but not a jogger. Although the thought of doing something without DS (sorry Linc) is good too.

My good night sleeper has left :( Linc now sleeps 8-12 then 12.20-2.20(resettle) 2.25-4 4.20-6 the up up up. BUGGA BUGGA BUGGA! It's wind cos he's screaming and farts heaps, Grrrr I'd love this to end and soon. Wind shouldn't be so painful. He's still only sleeping for an hour or so three or four times during the day but I fig it's not worth making him sleep more during the day, but out the window with the feed play sleep, he's much happier feeding prior to bed. Ruitine when will you join my family?

:shakehead:oh green im glad im not the only one as my girls isnt sleeping at all either :wall: im not sure why ,she was going so good then bang no routine at all i even broke down in tears last night and said to my dh im so ready to go to sydney to try out trisilien,im at my wits end ,so tired.night times are the worst,i dont mind through the day if charlie wants to stay awakw but you would think by night time shed be tired NO WAY :shakehead: trying to get her to sleep is a battle on its own ..fast asleep in my arms then i put her to bed thinking oh yeh shes aslepp nope as soon as i close her door shes awake crying,put the dummy in works for 2 mins put dummy in again leave the room NOPE dummy again this happens 5-6 times by this time im just laying on her bedroom floor waiting cause its a waste of time leaving the room grrrrrrr.
not before 10.30 11pm do i finally get her to sleep then 3-4 hrs later shes awake again,feed her put her back to bed,then up again 3hrs later if that GGGRRRRRRR
im so bloody tired seems like im up and down all the time and trying to do everything else is so draining DID I MENTION IM TIRED LOL..
anyways thats my rant for the day im so sorry for the ME post but im so upset and did i mention tired :D

Green I think our boys must be twins, Its the vomit and no we are not sleeping either. Struggle to get him down during the day as well. Finally at 2pm today he crashed. He also prefers to play feed sleep.

Our boobie fed boy wont take a bottle. Still trying to get him meds into him so tried giving it to him in a small amount of expressed milk in a bottle he wouldnt take it. Took him 20 min to take about 30ml from a bottle and 15min for a complete boobie feed. So much for my idea of leaving him for a night.

Hope evreryone had a lovely easter. Green after we get back from our holiday I to am cutting out the sugar and getting back to exercise.

Smithy - its ok guess what I AM TIRED TOO Xavier has been asleep for 2 hour now but do you think I get to rest nope to much to do and my goodness I have the noisiest 3 year old in the world.

Smithy, Green & Saph: So sorry about your lack of sleep, but just wanted to let you know that there are Wonder Weeks at 8 weeks and again at 12 weeks and the horrible periods are generally from around 7 1/2 weeks to 9 1/2 weeks and again between 11 1/2 & 12 1/2 weeks (based on due date not birthdate). Just when the routine gets into action a Wonder Week seems to hit. We are supposed to be slap bang in the middle of the 26 week one which runs from 22 1/2 weeks - 26 1/2 weeks, but I'm lucky I only get cranky times during the day.

Neptune: sending you a big :hug: I wish there was something I could do to help.

Hopefully I'll bbl for more of an update.
