Hey I hope you girlies down south are all ok in the heat, I must say I wouldn't want to swap places...we are flooded at the mo. Mother Earth is truely letting us know she is in charge:think:
Wow Sazz I have every finger and toe crossed for you....I really hope it works for you.
I am also starting the second round of pg's and I must say that I am kind of ok with it.....its so completely sstupid but im actually more upset over the possibility of af not coming to the party at all this year. I know that bfing can affect it, but were down to 2 feeds now and even then she isnt really interested, so I wonder if af is ever gonna come back (what a fruit cake spent 20 years complaining about her and now I need her:wall:)
I have to explain myself dh and I have an agreement that we wouldnt try after he was 45 as he didnt want to be an older dad....which I completely understand...(so we started trying earlier than I would have had I been with someone my own age...which turned out to be a blessing and a curse as we found I had PCOS earlier so we had time:redface:)...But now Im down to this year :( so im going to give it eveything I have (granted thats not much, but the old ovaries have done it once) and if at the end of this year we are unsuccessful I must accept that it wasn't mean't to be and I can get on with my life and my beautiful daughter....hum not a bad alternative:loveshower:
Just wish this time I had an even playing field unfortunately I cant blame dh...wish I could:p
Sorry its a bit of a yarn, it been playing on my mind and you ladies I think are the only ones who can understand
ooooooo good luck good luck good luck sazz.... I was wondering when you were starting. Really hope this is a quick trip for you
Damn Liz, deadlines suck! I'm happy not to have af just yet, so i'll send any af vibes your way.
Me too BW! but that's cause I had an infection.
I was reflecting the other day: some people are worried about having another baby cause they had a difficult pregnancy; some people are worried about the difficult birth; and some worry about the sleepless nights. I'm worried about the conception part - that's supposed to be the fun bit! Doesn't seem fair
ETA - I actually lied to my endocrinologist and told him we were using condoms... why are they all so insistent on us going on the pill anyway? (and why did I lie...?)
And why do I have the one doctor who didn't care if I used contraception or not, and was perhaps assuming that we wouldn't when I'm the one who actually needs to go back on the pill?
Now that I have time for a slightly longer post without my mother peering over my shoulder - I have to start some seriously heavy duty drugs for my arthritis shortly. I see my rheumy about it on Friday. It's basically a chemo drug - methotrexate. Some of the reading I've done indicates that it's category X, meaning that if you fall pregnant while on it they recommend termination. They also tend to use it to abort ectopic pregnancies and it seriously depletes the folate levels in your body. I'll need to be off it for at least 3 months and preferably 6-12 months before we start trying for number 2. While a surprise natural conception would be welcome even though the chances of it happening for us are so minimal as to be non-existant, there's just too many issues associated with it that I have absolutely no desire to face, so the pill it is. Of course, the arthritis issues and medication problems do reduce the guilt over not breast feeding. Even if I had slogged through those early weeks to get it established I'd have to stop now anyway.
I should head back to bed. Sam's just had a really good sleep - it was 6 hours since his last one! I've got a 2 hour plus drive ahead of me in the morning. The heat in Sydney was so bad, our house was so hot and Sam was so grumpy that I just had to get out. I've ended up in my parents' air conditioned house in Newcastle and it has meant that I've had extra hands with an unhappy Samuel for the weekend while DH has been working utterly ridiculous hours on an outdoor (:o!!) music festival over friday and saturday. Sam's probably just missing daddy and will be happier when we get home. But the best news is that I have to be home at 10:30 tomorrow morning to sign the lease on a new house which will be SO much cooler in the heat and is a much better house for us all around. No more stairs! Will try to catch up longer at home, but the packing must begin in earnest for the move next week, so I could be scarce for a while yet.
Marcellus, I did worry about an infection or something, but the fact is that with the arthritis I'm a very slow healer. I spent 10 days in hospital with Sam after a normal vaginal delivery and was still very weak and shaky when we left. It was only the first week that was actual bleeding, the rest was just really annoying dribble that just wouldn't go away.

Morning ladies. The twinnies are in bed having a quick snooze before swimming lessons this morning so I thought I would take this time to chill on the computer for a little while  All is going well here. It is funny watching DD & DS trying to crawl. DS is getting up on all fours and rocking while DD is actually moving by comando crawling so she is not yet getting up on her knees. I am hoping that she does eventually get up there and doesn't just keep using her arms to drag herself along now that she has figured out a way to move. Time will tell.
Sazz- Good luck hun. How exciting. I hope this time is a very short journey for you.
BW- Yay for signing a new lease and having extra hands to help with DS at your Mum's place. My DH has also just started Methotrexate. He has a form of reactive arthritis which comes about after he has had food poising or some kind of stomach infection. He has some gene that turns the infection into arthritis  This bout flared up at christmas and has been on a high dose of Prednisone for quite a while without much relief so they are now trying the methotrexate. How many tablets are you having to take a week? DH only has to take one a week because of the strength and had his third week on Saturday and it seems to be starting to improve the pain. One thing to note my DH takes his on a Saturday and it makes him really sleepy. This Saturday he had three little sleeps. Perhaps see if someone would be able to help you with Samuel on the day you take it?
Hi everyone else hope your well xx
Pleased to hear you are going into a new house BW. The little ones do get a bit grumpy in the heat - which doesn't help anyone. We were all a bit grumpy for a few days.
Good luck Sazz, will be hoping things go really smoothly for you guys this time.
There is already another pregnancy in my mother's group - but this one is an accident, although she is kind of coming around to the idea. Although it sounds like a good idea, I worry that with having no family around that having another baby might be hard.
Good to hear from you again Lismith - would DH maybe keep trying when yo get closer to the deadline?
Take care all
Jo
Hi girls, I'm going to attempt some personals here, not sure how great they will be though..but will try :)
Marcellus, I haven't added my success story, wondering if you have? I will have to check them out, reading someone else's first might inspire me to write one out. I keep meaning to do a birth story, but I keep thinking DS is 7 months already, it's probably a little late to start one now lol.
Lenny, Can't believe that AF arrived after you mentioning her on here! Hope the witch doesn't decide to visit me soon...I'm on the look out for her!
Sazz, Hope Celeste is better, poor sweetie having a chest infection. Did you have your FET this Tuesday just gone? Hope all is travelling well.
BW, Great news about getting a lease on a new house! How was Sam when his daddy came home? Hope he is much happier for mum ;)
Kate, That is so cute, about your DS rocking on his hands and knees, and the good old commando crawl..DD loved that move, along with the one where she would push herself along on her back then turn a 180 degree and keep back pushing to get whatever it was she had her eyes on lol. DS does the back push move like DD did every now and then too.
lis, hope the flooding is starting to dry up.
Well, DD got sick over the weekend, a nice little cold which then made her asthma come out as well, and she went to school today for the first time this week lol! I caught it as well, and ended up with it turning into the flu! even my eyes were aching :( DS decided to wake multiple times during the night and the only day I could grab a nap, someone decided that after 2.5 months of having a broken window to actually show up and replace it! I felt like breathing all over him, but it required way too much effort.
Anyway, am feeling better now, just feel a bit dizzy when I'm standing (not good when holding DS)
I was asked today, by a total stranger, when I'm having another! I just laughed it off even though it peeved me... I got home and thought, next time I should say, I'm not sure if I want to go through the sniffing which makes you hormonal and completely off the radar, the injecting, the travel, the wondering, the medication after the BFP...
ok, enough waffle from me, catch up with you later, should go and try to get some sleep before DS wakes...Oooh, almost forgot, DS has his 3rd tooth!! it's just broken through
Hi gang,
Poor you Nic, Hope you are feeling better soon. Dizzy is not good you poor thing. Darn that window man. (tried to write glacier but it looks like those things you get in new zealand, not a glass person lol) Dont you want to slap those people who ask sometimes? I have said sometimes "Well, we are pretty lucky to have had this one...." and leave it at that.
Lenny, my family are 100km away so I dont get any day to day support either. Most of my friends have family around the corner and ready babysitters a few days/nights a week and they just dont understand the difference. You cant just go out without the kids whenever you feel like it. (at least mine are inthe same state as me I guess :) )
Lismith, hope you werent too affected with the flooding. And any vic girls, hope things are ok with you all too. I understand your frustration re: AF all the years we dont want her then when you do she wont bloody turn up. Maybe DH can extend his deadline till the end of his 45th year?
BW, hope your packing is going well. Good luck iwth the move. Why is it everyone moves when they have a baby or are heavily pregnant? Seems to be very common!!!
Sitting here listening to the rescue helicopter take off. It comes from adelaide when required for urgent hospital transfers and its flight path goes over our head to the hospital (400m away). It has been up very regularly the last few weeks sadly.
Celeste's infection has cleared now thankfully.
Thanks so much for the good luck wishes everyone. I am of course annalysing every little twinge, gurgle, etc that my body is doing this week. Yes, the transfer was this tuesday just gone. I am able to have my blood done a day early cause it will fall on a weekend and the transfer to adelaide etc will delay it more. Yay. exactly one week left of waiting. Bought a first response POAS today just in case ;) Have had some little twinges which I am telling myself was the same with Celeste's conception but that was about 21months ago!!! as if I remember that well!!!!!
Sorry no time for personals but I have been reading all your posts. I just want to say that I have absolutely everything crossed for you Sazz. I really really do hope this transfer leads to a very very very sticky bubba.
Ok I'm off now but will attempt to get back over the weekend to catch up on more personals :)
Morning!
Lismith, I missed the part about you being flooded! Hope you're doing alright.
BW - you certainly have your fair share of problems! Glad you've had a bit of a helping had with DS, that really makes a big difference. And yay on some good news about your new house! The new meds sound pretty full on - hope they help though.
Good luck with the move.
Ktgirl - DS dragged himself for a while, then did a caterpillar crawl, and now is crawling 'properly'. How hard must it be with TWO on the go....?
Yep, I have added my story, such as it is. Hope the dizziness has passed Nic.
Sazz - all available appendages crossed.
Think you were looking for glazier...
Hi everyone:p
HEHEHE yeah, I looked at what I wrote and thought "that is WRONG but what should it be?"
Well, after not being in here much for months, I am now hanging around like a bad smell. I caved this morning and POAS but of course it is far too early. the -ve did put a bit of a downer on me but I am really not due for bloods till at least friday so I will try to keep my chin up till then unless AF arrives most unwelcomed.
Celeste is alternating between being a beautiful intoxicating charming wonderful little girl and a tantrum throwing, hitting mummy, spitting monster. Ah the joys. I think the main problem is the change over from two day sleeps to one. I am finding it difficult to tell which days she needs 2sleeps and then sometimes when she only has one she will only sleep for around 45mins which of course is not enough. Today she had swimming at her morning sleep time so she is down now for 1+1/2 so far. she just stirred but I think she has gone back. fingers crossed.
Dont know if I mentioned it in here yet: Had her measured/weighed a week or so ago and she is in the 25% for length and only 3% for weight. The nurse made me feel bad cause she was saying sh thinks the tantrums are because she is hungry? WTF???? I can't MAKE her eat. I am making sure I offer all the different foods she needs and almost all home cooked etc. She told me I had to cut the bottles down to only 2 a day so she eats more but she is still only havieng 2decent meals and one picky one each day. I think it is the age that makes them finicky with food and she is just a slight girl. We were both skinny kids (not that you would know it to look at me now!)
Anyhow that is me for today! Hope everyone is travelling ok. :)
OMG...I haven't been on here in nearly 12 months and thought i'd just pop in to see if any of the crew from the pregnancy forum i lived in this time 12-18mths ago where still about and here you all are...Sage, Marcellus, Sazz, Lenny it is amazing and so great to see you're all enjoying motherhood. I love it, but boy, my DD has grown into a toddler too quickly. She's up walking around smokin up the joint LOL. Where has that tiny bundle that completely stole my heart gone??!!
Anyway, no update but i'm also in here cause DH & I are now tossing around what to do with our last frozen eggy as it's freezer contract expires in June...do we extend it, do we defrost it and check our chances. We just haven't made up our minds.
Anyway, didn't mean to intrude on what must be a life long friendship for you guys now, was just excited to see all your names again. It's brought back some very supportive memories...
Kimbe Welcome back hun. Its great to see you here again. Please feel free to join in whenever you want as we are still just as supportive and friendly as ever before :D
These little bubs sure do grow way too fast hey? I can't believe Jenna is almost 1.
Anyway all the best with your decision making in the coming months.
Sazz PLEASE try not to worry about what the nurse said to you. Just keep doing what you are doing hun and follow Celeste's lead as such. Sage is also very tiny. He's BELOW the
3rd centile for weight and height and is around the 40th centile for his head lol. He is also a finiky eater. He has a great breakfast of 2 weetbix and some toast or crumpet or pancake(depening on what I have) and then either a biscuit or some fruit for morning tea and lunch is a bit hit and miss either a sandwich or some chips(shhh) or yoghurt if I'm lucky he'll eat something otherwise he has a fruit stick or some custard for afternoon tea and then his dinner is vegies or something similar and some custard or yoghurt or icecream for dessert. Our Paed suggested we give him as much "high fat" food as possible ie like creamy sauces or a dob of butter on his vegies. We don't do this too often though. I should add that I had Sage weighed last Tuesday and he is 8.8kgs at 15 and a half months.
I also should add that we DON'T see a nurse as they also made me feel bad. We just keep in regular contact with our GP and Paed and they are happy with how Sage is doing.
Just remember YOU ARE A WONDERFUL MUMMY hun
Hi Kimbe! Nice to see you. I was just thinking about you yesterday in fact, wondering how you (and the other mummies no longer on bb) were doing.
Oh Sazz, that's not cool. not cool at all! Mako's idea about seeing a supportive doctor instead might be good. I'm no expert obviously but she really sounds to me like she's doing just fine. And if you are both slight then you would hardly expect your daughter to be sumo material, now would you?
Oh, and step away from the sticks!! Patience grasshopper.... (as if). We've all got our fingers crossed for you
Sazz - take marcellus's advice - step away from the sticks! No POAS - they are evil. And I'm sure Celeste is fine weight wise. There seems to be no 'genetics' taken into account and they expect all babies to be in the 50%. Not possible. I am over being told Liam is small. I am slim, DH is slim what do they expect?? Thankfully i get great support from my mother's group...there is an even skinnier boy there, and one who is so big he looks like a 2 year old.
Kimbe - wow, good to hear from you. Glad to hear little Jenna is good. On the Parenting after LTTTC main page I had just posted a thread asking about TTC for number 2. I can't stop thinking about it. I just paid for the frosties to go back into storage for another 6 months. I think a while ago monnie said she was thinking about number 2 as well. Let us know what you decide so we can cross fingers and cheer for you too!
Hey guys
Well it's been a long time!
And this thread has really grown...which is wonderful!
Lovely to read all your news...all our little bubs are growing up, hey?
I still look at Felix with tears in my eyes at the thrill of having him.
Life is so different now...but so so wonderful!
I won't write too many personals at the moment...as I can hardly keep up with everyone!
Sazz...wishing you all the very very best!
Mako...hope all is going well!
BW...welcome chickie! Congratulations on Sam! And welcome to motherhood!!! The ride of your life!
Kimbe, Lenny, Nic, Marcellus, KTgirl and everyone else...hope all is going wonderfully!!!
Felix is now almost 18 months...a walking, talking bundle of energy! We're on to our 10th tooth, I think! Molars are through as is at least 1 canine!
Sleep is much much improved!!! Finally getting some decent nights! Ended up making up my own little programme...which seems to have worked! FINGERS CROSSED!
Oh...and I'm no longer BF-ing! We made it through to 16 months!
We are still hoping to try for number 2...but DH is really busy at the moment (He's playing for Phantom of the Opera!) so he's away most nights!!!
Anyway...life is going really well...Love my little boy to bits!
Oops...just jinxed myself...he's just woken up!
Better go!
Having a nightmare time with BB today, but just quickly wanted to know if anyone had heard from Kimnastics recently?
Jo I think Kim is mainly on another parenting site these days.
Hi Monnie! Long time no see :)
So glad to hear how well Felix is going. Well done on the bfing and the sleep! Take care
Hi everyone else
Hi everyone,
I haven't posted recently, but I am reading and following the thread all the time! I'm being a true lurker at the moment
I just wanted to say that I am crossing everything for you, Sazz. I hope you're feeling ok and I'll be thinking of you on Friday :noaf:
Hello to everyone else - hope you're all well :)
Miss C
Monnie Its great to see you pop in here to let us know how you and little Felix are doing.
I'm always thinking of you guys when I come in here. Well done to you on BF Felix for as long as you did. Can I ask....Did you wean him or did he wean himself??? I'm asking because I'm still BF Sage and really want to continue for as long as he wants to but within reason iykwim??
Sazz I have EVERYTHING crossed for you for tomorrow. I really really hope you'll be having a November bub ;)
Sage has been miserable today. He's really not well atm.His temp is up and he just doesn't know what to do with himself. 1 minute he wants a cuddle and the next he's screaming as he wants to be on the floor and then he cries again cos he wants to be picked up. He is cutting his canines I think. He has 4 molars and 4 top and 4 bottom teeth now. I hate seeing him unhappy.
I hope everyone else is ok.
hey gang,
Kimbe and Monnie, soooo good to see you again !!! It's great hearing how well you are all going. Good to hear the sleep issues have finally resolved for you Monnie. Can't believe Felix is now 18months and Jenna is practically 1yr old!!! Come back soon you two :)
Thanks everyone for your support on Celeste's weight. I think she is fine in my heart but every now and then I worry. I think I will switch to seeing the GP for her healthcheck and needles rather than the MCH nurse. A lot of locals I speak to aren't that keen on her. SHe is very "by the book", including when they should walk, talk etc. Funny tonight she had a bit of leftover casserole which I can't really blame her for not liking then she had a helping of my sausage and veg but claimed she was full till I brought out my banana cake with choc icing that I made this arvo. She ate a whole piece the same size as DH and I had!!!! PIG :)
Mako, sorry to hear Sage is not well. Sounds EXACTLY how Celeste was today too with the cuddles thing. She wanted to be doing things but wanted to be in my arms all the time too. She has a cold and is up and down depending when the next dose of Dimatap or nuraphen are due. Dont like giving her much of that stuff but I can see such a difference when I do. Hope he is feeling better soon and those nasty teeth finish doing whatever they are doing.
Tomorrow is blood test day but the results wont be in till Sat arvo when I am at tennis. hate taking that call out in public!!!!! Have to confess something though.... sorry Lenny I can't resist and I did POAS again today.................
......... it was the faintest line ever seen by a human eye but there was definately a second line there!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!
Firstly...Sazz...very exciting! Fingers crossed for fantastic news!
Go Celeste...banana cake with chocolate icing sounds delicious!!! She's got great taste!!!
Mako...I ended up weaning Felix. I gradually cut down the feeds (starting with his least favoured) until he was just having his night feed (before going to bed) and then cut that one out.
I had it in my mind that I wanted to wean him by 18 months...and so started at around 14 months...and he was totally weaned by 16.5 months. He was getting to the stage where he was pulling up my top in public and I just felt that we were ready for it.
Anyway...after one tricky day, he was absolutely fine and has never asked again...even when he sees me fully exposed, he doesn't look a bit interested. He was also drinking cows milk with his meals...so I figured he was okay to no longer BF.
Hope that answers your question.
I must admit...it's lovely being in normal bras again!!! I'm currently losing some weight and when I've lost a bit more, I plan to head down to the lingerie shop and purchase some lovely bras as a little 'reward' for myself for BF-ing!!!
Sorry to hear Sage has had a tricky day...canines were really nasty for Felix too! I've heard that they are the most painful of all of the teeth...not sure if that's true or not!
Hi to everyone!!!
Oh WOW on the faint BFP Sazz!! Is that banana cake that Celeste had a big chunk of the same banana cake you posted ages ago?? Must say, I'm not surprised she had a big piece, it is the yummiest choc banana cake I have ever eaten! Even my DH says it is the best one he has had, even better than his grannies (bet he wouldn't tell her that though)
Monnie, great news about Felix's sleeping.
Big hello's to everyone, sorry for lack of personals, quickly checking out BB before I do the school run and get attacked by mosquito's lol.
Nic
Nic, I can't remember posting a banana cake recipe??? Maybe I did? I'm not sure... this one is pretty yummy though :)
Lenny, your advice is coming back to haunt me now cause I tested again this morning as I had one stick left and it was definately a -ve :( So now I have to wait for the bloods..... *sigh*
Monnie, I agree with the regular bras. Don't you have a much nicer look in your clothes when you can get an underwire again? I havent spoiled myself as I have struggled with my weight and always say I will wait till I succeed but eventually I had to get something.
Ah, off to do a blitz of house cleaning to keep my mind busy for today.... I will let you know when I know.
All the best Sazz!!!! :pray::crossfingers:
Oooo yes, nice, proper bras...!!
Hope Sage is doing better now Mako
Sazz I still have everything crossed for you hun.
Monnie You did amazingly well at weaning Felix the way you did. Its pretty awkward when the little people go for the "grab" in the most inconvienient of places hey :)
Sage is such a booby boy so much so that he doesn't have a least fav feed yet
Sage is really struggling with the teeth atm. He had a shocker last night and hasn't eaten anything since breakfast yesterday. I'm not too worried as I'm sure he'll eat when he's hungry. He is drinking though,so that helps keep my mind at ease. He is on a "****tail" of pain killers atm though. It is a combination of panadol, neurofen, teething tabs. I don't like to give him much either but I hate to see him in pain.
Ok I'm going to bed as I have been up since yesterday morning and my eyes are hanging out of my head
Just popping in to check on Sazz. I've been thinking of you ALL day hun. Did you get your blood results back hunny?
:hello: Just checking in quickly... Moved in now, but still dodging cardboard boxes, and I fear we will be for ages. Sam's doing ok despite having his 8 week check, a renal scan and 2 month immunisations all in the same week as the move and lots of strange people (grandparents) around all week. I'm struggling with new arthritis medication that leaves me pretty wiped out over the weekends (it's taken once a week, not daily)...
But... I have internet access again! Despite only having DH's computer set up so far, I can at least get online once more!
Sazz, I can't believe I've been offline through your cycle. I'm hoping the results were good and the reason we haven't heard from you is because you're off celebrating.
Meanwhile... I need sleep, but must get some bottles ready for Sam first. Damn, I wish I could have breastfed him!
BW
Hi yes got my results but only now feel like facing you all. thanks for thinking of me.
As I suspected I was UTD a few days ago but now am not :( My levels are already down to 9 so my little one died a few days ago and I am now just waiting for AF and dreading her. Extra sad because I was still feeling symptoms today with nausea and tingly bb till around lunchtime so I guess it takes a few days for the effects to wear off.
On a positive note we still have one precious snowbub left but I'm not sure when we will go there as we are still waiting for our medicare money from this one to come back.
Very very sad tonight.
Oh Sazz...so sorry to hear your news!
It is a very sad night.
Take care of yourself.
My thoughts are with you.
I'm so sorry Sazz.
Take some time out and give Celeste a big squishy hug
Oh Sazz thinking of you and sending huge hugs.
Oh no, Sazz! I'm so sorry.
BW
Oh Sazz hunny, I'm so sorry. Hugs to you and DH and Celeste too.
Sazz im so sorry, I hope you are ok.
Im sending you a big hug and make sure you have some time with Celeste.:grouph
Sazz, I'm so sorry to hear your news
BW, Sounds like a pretty full on week at your place! Can I ask if Sam's scan was a precaution due to his early arrival? Hope all is well with your little man...and you too with your arthritis medication!
Nic
Nic, the scan was just a precaution because of his single umbilical artery. We've got some eye tests later which I think are more due to the early arrival and his intermittent reluctance to turn his head to the left.
It's all been a bit full on... I'm sooooo very tired still. Last methotrexate dose daw Saturday being a write off and Sunday being marginally better... This time I'm much worse on the Sunday (after taking it Friday night), but I'm still vaguely hopeful that I'll be back on my feet tomorrow. Just really don't feel up to another visit from the in-laws today - whenever they finally deign to arrive.
BW
Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sazz. I'm terribly sorry that your precious bub grew wings. I'm so sad for you and wish I could give you a big  IRL. Please be very kind to yourself and take things easy for a while. I'm here for you if you need anything hunny.
BW Well done on the move. I hope you enjoy your new home more than the last 1.
I hope Sam gets some great results from him scan. I hope your inlaws aren't too painful ;)
A big hello from me. I hope everyone is ok.
