Hi :) Thought I would pop my head in here too now that things are getting a bit more settled. Our little boy was born just over 5 weeks ago after 3.5 years TTC including 3 stim and 3 FET cycles - but he was a natural miracle after all that.
Today is my first day completely on my own. DH back to work this week and my mum came to stay for a few days but went home this morning. So far so good. :)

WOW some new faces in here :) Welcome to Nixon,Janie and Megan and of course your gorgeous little bundles of joy.
Not alot going on here except yesterdayI found out that I have a little escapee lol. He was happily playing in the kitchen and I had to go and do something in another room. When I came back he was gone..I called him and no answer. My heart sank like never before. I ended up finding him out in the backyard. He manged to open the back door, climb over lots of shoes at the door on the verandah, down the stairs, over a broom which was laying on the stairs and there he was playing with his ball on the driveway. Oh my goodness I couldn't believe he was out there and he never fell or hurt himself. I'm so pleased we have massive gates that he can't get out of the backyard though.
Anyway I hope you are all doing really really well..BBL for more personals as Sage has just woken up.

Hi and welcome Megan.
Mako - maybe you need to leash that boy ;)
Just so you know, I've banned myself for the next 4 weeks as I have to work again. I'll miss you guys heaps and look forward to catching up in a month's time!
-
Marcellus enjoy your months break. Look forward to seeing you when you get back :)
-
Welcome to Megan (and Noah) & Nixon (and Asher).
Congrats to you and I hope you are all settling in and getting used to mummy-hood.
Mako - your little escape artist is too cute. I bet he was quite happy with himself!
Hugs for your DD nic, she has been having a rough time!
Marcellus - :( I hope you enjoy work again after your break. You will have to make a note on your profile so that I remember when you are coming back. But good on you for banning yourself! I'm still thinking about visiting your way, but it was hard enough flying to NZ on my own, can i cope flying to WA?
Monnie - we can't seem to get rid of our cold either. DH seems immune, but me and DS have had it on and off for a month now.
No news in our house really, except that DS is fully walking now. He only crawls when he is nude? Go figure?! Maybe he likes the added security of all those layers on his bum in case he falls. It's cute though, having him walking everywhere. It does take forever to collect the mail though!
-
Hello new faces!!! Welcome :) We are a friendly bunch so I hope you feel comfy and happy chatting with us.
Mako, how scary for you with your little escapee! That feeling of horror is just about unbeatable. So glad he was safe and happy outside. Celeste managed to open the door by pushing hard enough till the latch opened. Luckily I was just hanging washing under the verandah but she toppled out and bumped down the step. (I was hoping to get it done and back inside before she noticed I slipped out) Scary how far they can go so quickly though. She is very interested in the gate and latch too so I worry she will let herself out soon :o
Lenny, I still get a surprise occasionally when I see C coming in from the other room, walking. I guess she crawled for so long i expect to see it. So much easier being outside now that the ground is damp. Trouble is she wont let me hold her hand and when we go places she is all over the place. Went out yesterday and had to put her cute backpack leash thingy on her. Still all over the place and not going where I wanted her to but at least not far!!
Nothing exciting to report here. C and I both have yucky cough/nose colds. Missing swimming, mum's group, playing squash, kindergym etc because of it this week so pretty boring really!
-
Sazz May I ask where you bought your little backpack leash thingy from? I'm thinking about getting 1 for Sage as he likes to walk everywhere but I refuse to let him when we are out most of the time as he has no sense of direction and he won't let me hold his hand for long either. I always swore I'd never buy a harness or leash type thing for my kids lo as I remember clear as day telling MY mum that "I could walk myself" one day when she had 1 on me :rofl:l. How things change
Lenny Yep Sage was very pleased with himself when I found him...Cheeky little monkey lol.

Well, you wouldn't believe it! After DD having gastro 2 weeks ago, then hurting her neck which resulted in another 2 days off school, she ended up with Gastro AGAIN late Monday night :wall: This is after I had it Friday, and had to call DH and ask him to come home from work (he has worked 2 days the last fornight, not including this week) as I couldn't go any longer than 20 minutes before needing to be sick again. THEN, DS came down with it over the weekend, and DH and I ended up having an arguement as to what to do with him. DH didn't want to take him to the local hospital, but wanted to drive 2 hours and go straight to the private hospital. I said we would be better off getting him assessed locally, and if need be they would get the chopper out to transfer us if he needed.
So in the end i called 13health, who told me to go to the hospital, so I called them, and they said to keep him home, what we were doing was fine, and to call them if he got worse during the night and they would unlock the doors to let us in. He was going red in the face while he was vomiting and kept throwing his head back as well. I ended up in tears watching him, and poor DH was just about the same i think. We managed to get him checked out by a Dr on Monday, who did a very thorough check up and said he was fine. DS stopped vomiting Sunday night, but then started up again early Monday morning. I've had about 12 hours sleep since saturday, and am so very tired. Finally have DS down for a nap, so am going to have my first shower since he chucked up all over me on Sunday.
Sorry for my lack of personals, I have been reading really quickly when I can. hello to all the new mummies joining us.
BW - I noticed another thread of yours about Samuel. Hope the Dr's appointment today is a helpful one for you all

Mako, it was a gift but I have seen them online at bambini pronto for about $35. They don't have the full range of characters though. We have a dog. If you know DD at all you would assume we have the dog.... she LOVES her dogs. We have two and they are both called Jemma at the moment  ALL dogs are called Jemma apparently!
OMG poor you Nic. I hope you are all on lthe mend and getting some decent sleep now!!! You've had more than your share.
Celeste and I have had a cold for over a week now. I am sooooo over coughing. I will be happy if I never cough again in my life. ! C is doing well though considering she fell on the concrete yesterday and has a graze on her nose/nostril area which makes it sore for her with nose wiping. Today she stacked it again and has little cut on her eyebrow, an egg and a bruised cheek. I am embarrassed to take her out with all her injuries!!
I am officially TTC again. I booked on yesterday for another frosty cycle. Praying like mad cause we only have one left - please thaw frostie!!!!! Have booked for a review appt in 8weeks if worse comes to worse and we need to stim again... AAAArrrgh am I ready to go through it all again so soon after feb???
-
Good luck, Sazz. I hope that embryo thaws and the FET is successful. I really struggle with the idea of going through another stim cycle ever again, so I admire anyone who can actually go back and do it all over again.
Yep, Sam's been quite sick this week. We thought it was just teething, but turns out it's RSV and bronchiolitis and the poor little guy has been struggling for breath all week and wheezing quite horribly. He's improving now, but I'm going through the stress of trying to get him to drink more... he's dropped from getting through 240mL in one sitting to going through about half of that. Feeding him more often doesn't seem to help... and who ever claimed that bottle feeding just poured the milk down a baby's throat so they have no choice but to swallow hasn't ever tried to feed my son!
Oh... amber teething necklaces rock!

hi all
just poking my nose in to say hello - will definitely be back to post again in the next few days but just dropping in while DH cooking dinner
we welcomed our precious girl Emerald Nevaeh Rose on May 29 - and i'm loving being a mummy sooooo much!
-
Yay Welcome BG!!!! Soooooo good to see you in here finally hunni. Glad you have DH home for a while and great to hear Miss Emerald is settling in and you are going great guns at your new "Mum" position. :)
Will try to liven things up in here again... I think we have all fallen asleep
C is well again and has stopped the never ending clumsies that come with being sick. I was afraid to take her in public for all the bumps, lumps, grazes and bruises she had for a while there. Poor thing had a fat lip, egg head and nose graze all within 24hours. mending now.
I am going for my transfer on monday which, conveniently, is a public holiday so DH can come without losing work or arrousing suspicions! Hooray!
Celeste has learned a new sign "baby". I taught her cause my friend and SIL are both having babies this week. Went to visit my new niece yesterday but C had performance anxiety and wouldnt do the sign. She does it AALL the time at home.
She has started a new thing lately. When I'm changing her she will run through and list the members of the family. At least that's what I think she's doing. SHe says/signs: Mum, Dad, baby, and Molly and Jemma (the dogs) so I'm assuming she thinks of herself as a baby still. I guess she is the smallest/youngest person she knows. Except for the new cousin now. I think that's pretty interesting and clever!
Willow, Hope your little man's leg is on the mend now.
BW, How is poor Sam? Hope he is breathing easier. Such a worry for you!
Nic, hope everyone in your house is well again finally. You have had a rough trot. Getting some sleep I hope.
Mako, did you get your "leash"? I have seeen some super cute new designs recently online somewhere.
How are you feeling Lenny?
Hello everyone else... where are you all?
-
YAY Welcome BG and Baby Emerald. Its wonderful to see you here
Sazz I did buy a "leash" lol. Its a monkey one as it was the only type I could find at the shops. I haven't tried it on Sage yet though. DH thinks I'm mad lol as I swore for many many years that I would never put a "leash" on my child  Oh well I'll see how it goes sometime in the near future.
Good luck for Monday. I have everything crossed that your transfer goes exceptionally well.
Lenny How are you going? Hope you're feeling ok ;)
I have to agree that its very quiet in here but I'm thinking of you all.
-
Welcome BG :)
Have been quiet as we are having day sleep issues at the moment. Noah is being a little terror and wont sleep in his cot anymore, so we are now co-sleeping. He's so noisy though, so now I don't sleep properly! It's a vicious circle! Night sleeps are a bit better than day, it's just getting him down initially at night that can take around 2 hours. To get more than 2.5 hours sleep straight just once would be fantastic.
-
Megan, I'm having sleep issues with Asher too. She will NOT sleep in her cot - only in my arms at the moment. Don't know if I'm doing the right or wrong thing, but I don't believe in 'crying it out' and I can't stand to hear her cry. It tears my heart out. Night is better than day, she's sleeping thru maybe 4 hours at a time, but hardly getting a break during the day. The baby bjorn is my best friend at the moment - at least I can get a few things done around the house.
Maybe I was spoilt with how good a sleeper she was for the first 4 weeks.....the tide as certainly turned. We're off to buy the "baby whisperer" book tomorrow and maybe "Save our sleep".
Hope you get a good night sleep soon.

Sazz How did everything go today? I hope everything goes really well for you and I'll be keeping fingers, toes and everything else crossed that you get your BFP very soon ;)
Megan and Nic I hope you get some sleep soon. I know all to well how hard it is to function with very little sleep. I ended up going to "sleep school" in October last year when Sage was 1 year old cos I couldn't take it anymore. It was very hard work and heart renching too as I hate hearing my boy cry but it has helped a bit. He doesn't sleep through every night even now at 19 months but atleast he's now in his cot for each day sleep and he starts out in his cot for the night time too but may wake for a feed and a snuggle in our bed. I should tell you that before we went Sage would only sleep in my arms during the day and sleep in our bed of a night. He would scream the house down if I put him anywhere near his cot. Sending lots of "sleep vibes"to you both.
-
Things are much better around here at the moment.. I think DS is teething again! He goes down for his first sleep for about 2 hours, then it's every hour, which can go through to about 4am, then he sleeps till maybe 7. Wearing me out little bugger..The other night he went down for 2 hours then was up till 6.45am! I went to bed for half an hour before waking DD to get ready for school.. BUT, they are healthy, no colds or gastro or anything else, so I just have to make up the sleep elsewhere :)
Megan and Nic, hope your little ones start sleeping better soon.
Sazz, hope everything went smoothly for you today :)
BIG Hello to everyone, hope you are all well :) Just dropping in quickly to try to keep up somewhat with everyone

Nixon, sounds like our bubs are following a similar pattern! Noah was perfect until about 5weeks. Then from 6 weeks his sleeping became a lot worse. I have spent so much of the last 2 weeks rocking him and just sitting with him on the couch for 2 hours so he will get sleep. Doesn't help me in the sleep department, but whenever I would put him down anywhere by himself he would wake and get upset.
He has been perfect this weekend. Yesterday and today he had two long sleeps of nearly 2 hours in his cot during the day. I couldn't believe it. DH must think I am making it all up when I say he doesn't sleep because he's been great while DH was home the last 3 days! lol Nights aren't too bad at the moment. Have had a couple of 4 hour stretches this weekend which has been nice and I'm feeling almost human again. I just hope he can keep it up!
Thanks mako... at least I can see some light at the end of the tunnel now! It is such a relief to get some good sleep.
Nic I hope you manage some sleep soon too. :)
