Oh Murph your pram sounds so nice. Enjoy the baby explosion in your home. Shopping is awsome.... :D P.S. thanks for the pep talk re test I talked with DP and cancelled it this morning. I'll wiat for my 18-20week scan to see little one again
Mels wow only 50. I can't wait for the 100 and 50. Got everything organised?
Smithy yaya on 9 weeks.
Kaydee another great milestone :D
Welcome wavegirl enjoy every minute.
Azzrenae I bet you're starting to feel full, so many arms and legs. It must be great.
Kelly D, I hope you found an outfit that will grow with you and the funeral wasn't too stressful.
ATM: Humph, I'm at work...... Doing the night shift because EVERYONE IS SICK or at a CAN"T MISS Party. I'm not happy. I worked 1-4 teaching, and 9-5 tomorrow teaching now with a nice filling of sleepovershift at work. We have a ready to pop young mum atm so I thought I'd better be here just in case. I don't feel that overwelmed now but when I found out I could feel my Blood preasure climb. Maybe this extra work was a bad idea. Oh well hopefully no more friday night fill in shifts. On the up side I'm making nachos for tea and get to sit and watch what I want on the work tv. Only down side is I need to stay awake to phone the oncall person at 11 to say AOK.
Have a great weekend all, I'm looking forward to mine when I get to it.
Oh brother SIL and the two cutest nephews in the world fly back to Canada Monday  I'll be a mess.

GreenslwI'm glad you are happy with your decision. You are really patient to wait until the 18 week scan but it will be so worth it and if you crack in the mean time, you can always just have the growth scans done as KellyD suggested without the nuchal. Good on you.
To all the new girls I have just updated the EDD (on the first page of each new thread, we keep track of your estimated due dates). If you don't see your most up to date details, it's because I either don't have access to them on your ticker or your signature doesn't list it. You can either PM your details to me or just put a note in your signature block of when you are due. I can't do the maths and count back if your ticker only says how many weeks pg you are iykwim (or if you don't have a ticker). Let me know if you need help.
Congrats on your special milestones this week...huge shout out to Ella'sMum...12 weeks today, how are you feeling?
Cheers,
Ange xo

Hey girls,
How's everyone doing, so many bellys in here it's lovely to see!
Hey murph, 12 weeks I got here and am so relieved, had 12 week scan on Thursday, it was amazing and such a weight off my mind those first few weeks are a nightmare of worries. MS is all gone too, so hopefully it's smooth sailing now...
Scan showed I had a healthy BIG baby with long legs (I assure you that is not from 5 ft nothing me), little one is measuring about 1 week larger so as I'm sure of dates, I'm just getting a biggy!
I'm so glad jazzy is keeping you busy with all her moving around, the movements are the best thing about being pg and can't wait for that feeling myself again.
Gotta ask some advice/opinions girls.... I play club netball, I'm know to be quite a physical competitive player, (that hasn't changed since being pg), I'm also known to fall over every now and then but it's usually more of an army roll with hands and legs taking the impact. Today however, I collided with another player and was knocked hard straight back flat on my back... Now I'm a little cautious, should I keep going or stop playing. There's only 6 games left till finals,by gf day I'll be 20 weeks. I feel I'm not being fair on my team mates (it was a teammate I collided with and she was nearly in tears). But on the other hand I love to play, we will most likely make the gf, I'm still playing well, my fitness is good and I haven't put on any weight yet which I think is thanks to netball. Any thoughts or advice would be most appreciated.
Take care girls, xx.

Ella's Mum - that's a tricky question and to be honest I think you just have to do what you feel comfortable with. I was a very full on runner prior to getting PG, and my plan was always to keep running as long as I could. I did A LOT of research on exercise and pregnancy and I think the main points that I gleaned from everything that I read was that you could keep doing what you are fit at as long as:
a)You don't overheat
b) Stop if you have any pains, cramps, dizziness etc
and c) Be careful of contact sports, especially ones where there are unpredictable movements etc.
Also, you are far more prone to injury because of the softening of your ligaments.
For me, even though I planned on running thru my PG, in reality I couldn't muster the energy in the first trimester, and by the time I felt better I had lost my fitness and just made the decision not to run until bubs is here. It was difficult not doing something I love and relied on, but I knew it was temporary! Plus I now walk for an hour every day and swim once a week.
If you want personal opinions, then I would be very wary of a sport where there is lots of falling and collisions. But it is up to you!

hi ella's mum
congrats on reaching the magic 12 week mark.
I too Neptune had grand plans of running through my pregnancy like some glamoursly fit preggy lady. HA!
I just could NOT phsyically do it. Have been walking on the treadmill and the other week thought i'd do a light jog at 8 speed --- I found my stomach muscles really really hurt afterwards. like they were strained/stretched from teh bouncing movement.
So ella's mum i've had to cut my exercise down completely to walking and fit ball pregnancy stuff plus pilates and swimming.
the advice I had was that if your body is used to it, it should be okay, however, I think contact sports require a bit more thought. YOu also might find by 20 weeks that you just cannot play 100% so you may be better off letting the team adjust now rather than pulling out at the most important time iykwim.
but if you are comfortable with it and your doc says Okay then you should go for it. Personally, however, I wouldn't play such an aggressive, hard-hiting game but I really think it's personal choice. Do take care of your knees and ankles tho as neptune said, everything is bit more prone to injury... and good luck!

I asked DH for a man's perspective on this one Ella'sMum and as I read him your question, he was cringing with each sentence. He took a philosophical view and said, that he really thinks you know the answer to that question deep down and need to look deeply inside yourself to find the truth. It's hard to tell people the truth if they are reaching outside themselves for an external solution, when the answer is inside.
Oh dear, and I thought I was the one studying psychology. My view is that I wouldn't do anything to risk the babies' health (and I know you don't want to either). It's just that netball is contact and unpredictable, plus there is your knees to think about. Your next fall could be on your tummy or you might get an elbow to your belly or worse. Gotta say I agree with Neptune and Grub. You will get bigger and fit or not, you are still carrying extra cargo and stretching your muscles. I couldn't even think about running (just couldn't afford to buy 5 bras to wear all at once!!!!):D Kidding, but even two is hard enough.
Hope you find the answer without feeling persecuted for your decision and there is always next year when you can return to the court and work off your baby weight.
-
:rolleyes:oh hun i would not be doing this in my own opinion wow all sounds very dangerous to me one fall and that could be it and why risk it when youve tried so hard for bubs ?oh hun im worried about you i think murph husband has a really good point .

Ella's Mum I am with smithy on this one. One wrong move and the outcome could be possitively horrific. I am not saying to stip excersing just stop the netball. I continued on at the gym with DS until I was 32 weeks and physically couldnt do it anymore. This one at eight weeks I am having enough trouble walking now as it is but will be ask Ob if it okay to start walking again on my treadmill. When My levels were all over the place at the beginning the clinic suggested I stop excersing and rest. You can only make a decision that is right for you and that you feel comfortable with.
AFM been having a little morning sickness, just feeling sick not vomiting so for me I am not even counting it as ms. With Campbell I threw up everything i ate and drank for six months and then just couldnt eat for the rest. (Best diet in the world) Very excited put new pram on layby I saved over $200 the mst expensive quote I got was $970 and I payed $658 for the pram and toddler seat.

Morning Girls,
Thankyou all for your thoughts and opinions.... I know you are all right, it's only going to take one bad fall and that will be it.
So, I'm going to let the girls know this week.
Thanks everyone again, I hope you all have a lovely week.

oh ella's mum, it's so hard isn't it! even when i'm walkiing on the treadmill, it takes all my self-control not to ramp it up and go for a nice long run :)
good on you for making a decision that you believe is best for you.
but don't give away all the fitness!

Ella'smum - I am so glad to hear your decision. Take it from someone who had a fall, and is now having to cope with a really serious pelvic injury. And I was only walking along the street! I think you've made the right choice, as hard as it was for you I'm sure. These little precious bundles of ours need us to be strong and healthy.
Wavegirl - yay! welcome, and congratulations. When is your head count? Maybe you have two little ones in there, and you can join the growing number of twin mummies to be!
Murph - sounds like you won the lottery with all that stuff! Bless families.
Smithy - hope the vomiting stops for you soon. Make sure you stay hydrated and fed.
I have finally sorted out the clothes into sizes, and have lots of cute onesies, but practically no singlets, socks, mittens or little hats. I can't help myself - every time I see something cute I turn into zombie-shopper and find myself shopping bag in hand wondering how on earth that happened!
I had a horrible dream last night that I was in the hospital going up to the nursery to get my boys and they weren't there. I couldn't find them anywhere. I was breathing funny and making all sorts of weird noises because DH woke me up to see if I was ok. It was horrible! I think that must be what they call maternal instinct.
I saw my GP at the end of last week and he told me he didn't think I'd put enough weight on yet. Which has upset me to be honest. I know I shouldn't listen to him as much as my ob because I really am under the care of the ob. I just happen to be seeing the GP because of my pelvis thing. But I am seriously sick to death of people gaping at me in disbelief when they find out I am 6 months pregnant with twins. They are either just incredulous and ask me if I am sure there are two, or they get quite personal and practically ask me if I have an eating disorder. It makes me feel like crap and I just want to tell them to get ********. So rude.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll explode before long. And the main thing is that the boys are a good size, growing well, and doing just fine. Ok, end of my whinge.
Hope you all have lovely weeks.
Jen

Jen as long as the boys are growing you dont have anything to worry about. I was so sick with DS that he weighed more then what I put on during my pregnancy and I was 7kg lighter than when "I started straight after having him.
Smithy hope the vomiting stops> I havent vomitted yet but not far off it in that last few days.
-
Welcome wavegirl I hope your first 12 weeks goes fast for you:clap::clap:
Jenc whinge away your boys growing nicely that all you have to worry about. some people carry twins differenly Im the opposite to you im hugh looks like triplets everyone gets a shock look on their face when I tell them my due date the say twins and their face still looks shocked but I just laugh it off. Hope your pelvic hasn't been giving you to much trouble.
Murph that great that your happy with your pram that one less thing you have to worry about and your bag of goodies sound great to.
-
Good afternoon girls,
Hope you all had a GREAT weekend! :D
Wavegirl - Congrats and Welcome  Hope you have a H & H pg! The first trimester is very hard. Hope it flies by for you. Ask as many questions you as like There are LOTS of lovely girls here to help.
Murph - how exciting about your pram!!! Its funny how a house can turn around so QUICKLY from no baby things to HEAPS, hehe. Family are great! My place exploded over the w/e as well.
Jen - you poor thing. Dont worry about what people say, as long as the boys are growing well is all that matters. Lucky you that you havent put much weight on, wish I could say the same
Smithy - hope your M/S subsides soon, its not a nice feeling.
Greenslw - hope your doing ok with your brother and family having left today. Take care.
Mels - WOW 50 days to go and counting! Getting close now :D
Hello to Grub, Kelly, Neptune, Azzrenae, Saph, Ella's mum and everyone else :D
AFM, went to my future SIL's house on Saturday and got all the second hand stuff from here. My nursery is now starting to take shape, VERY exciting  Picked up a second hand capsule as well yesterday and also won a bumbo baby seat over the w/e on ebay too, I have gone ebay CRAZY!!!! Am feeling well except for my back which is now starting to ache alot especially after doing housework or standing too long. Still not feeling any movement :wall: I am really hoping I can feel something soon. It doesnt help having all my extra padding as well as having the placenta sitting at the front.
Take care all,
Tania

sorry need a bit of advice myself today.
I stopped my IVF meds yesterday, no more progesterone pesaries or estrogen pills but now I have this overwelming dread that I'll MC cos the plecenta isn't making enough hormones. I know rationally I'm being stupid but what does everyone think?
I'm so glad not to be on the meds cos they're ewwww but scared my body wont pick up the slack.
MissMagpie thanks for you thoughts yesterday. I was a mess really hope they arrive home safe around 8pm tonight. Will miss my SIL heaps esp while PG.
-
Oh Greenslw I know that feeling so well. I was in a right state when I stopped at about 12 weeks. All I can say is to be calm, and trust that your specialist knows best. You wouldn't have been told to stop them if they were still needed.
Sending lots of hugs your way.

hi ladies
welcome to wavegirl!
thought i should update
well i had my appointment still got a fast pulse and my liver function is through the roof so have to get tested for them weekly as they think it may be obstetric cholestasis so i have to go to ED if i get jaundiced or itchy feet, strange! oh it also didnt help when the ob said that it can cause stillbirth and if the LFT's dont go down il be induced at 38 weeks! i have a scan on July 23rd (our anniversary) to check on the little ones growth and have a biophysical profile of the bub done so i hope all is well especially on that day! if not he may come even earlier due to his distress and lack of movements. I can barely breathe blocked sinus chest infection and a big baby inside me! i cant wait til this part is over! im such a sook!!! i remember thinking while TTC i cant wait to be glowing and pregnant and happy BUT boy was i wrong! also my boobs have become sooo sore suddenly, lost a bit of mucous plus this morning and have the runs quite bad so i hope he isnt deciding to arrive early on his own!
