    welcome frostys mum!!!

    IM UNDER 50 DAYS YAY!!!!

omg today was sooo bad its my 2nd day on my placement and i went to watch a procedure done where they insert a catheter through the femoral artery up to the heart to take a look, all was fine then bubs kicked me so hard in the guts i had to run holding vomit in my hands to the toilet while trying not to contaminate all the sterile fields as it was in theatre! i also wet myself with the force of vomiting and had to throw my undies out haha! sooo embarrasing! one guy said to me " i dont think this is the career for you" i didnt say anything but i dont think anyone thinks im pregnant unless i tell them, i kinda wish i had a big bump but he has never truely "popped" ive never had anyone ask me when im due oh well! i cant wait to have my baby!!!

Hi Neptune: So much to deal with and the delivery suite trip must have been really scary as well. I hope all goes well with your procedure.

MHB: OMG, how embarrassing for you and to be sick whilst in theatre must have been scary. Your little boy certainly is a trouble maker if you ask me.

AFM: Well what a couple of days I have had. Indegestion 2 nights ago and last night baby decided it would be huge fun to spend the whole night pressing down on my cervix. It was so painful and no matter what way I turned or moved she wouldn't budge. I'm sure that she has already flipped over and is head down already. I thought about calling my OB to find out if I should do anything, but decided to have any easy day today and monitor the discomfort as I have my appt with him tomorrow at 9.45am and hopefully will get checked out to make sure that my cervix hasn't started to dilate (too early). The only positive is that all this trouble she is causing me doesn't seem to be effecting her, I think she is a little sadistic as when I am in discomfort and pain she seems to enjoy kicking me like mad. Today I have been getting those huge kicks that can be seen through my belly and she hasn't stopped moving today. Have any of our other girls had cervical pain especially moving into the 3rd Trimester?? How am I going to cope with such discomfort for another 12 weeks?? DH & I are certain that she will decide to come early, be that her choice or the OB making the decision but we just think she will become so big for me to carry.

Thanks for the warm welcome. It's great to find a bunch of people who's been through the hoops to finally become somebody's mum. I've been cat's mum for 4 years and frosty's mum since the misc in March. Now finally we're having a viable pregnancy.

I get really constipated with Elevit, so I'm taking Megafol on the alternate day, that seems to help, and anything with tomatoes at dinner time sure guarantees a night of heartburn. Grrr.....

Ange hope the camping went well, enjoy the alone time

Neptune. Glad you're back ache is better that must be a load off.

    MHB wow under 50 congrats

KellyD goodluck for 9.45 tomorrow hope bubs lays off the sore spots

Frosty's mum tomatos are a no no for me too.

Well I did It I told my boss and she was happy gave me a hug and everything. Then it came to the "how's this going to work" chat and she said that my job was secure and we'd try our best to make sure I get as many entitlements as possible. I said I want 10 weeks off and she said "as much as you need" so i'm in a much happier place now.
    thank goodness it's done!

Tell the big boss Thursday, my boss wanted to but said I could then they'd speak and get back to me on the plan. Fingerscrossed.

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well.

Have sick child at home at the moment so will be quick as he is crying. At the moment I have extremely sore feet. I am what you call hypomobile which means my joints move further than they should. With the pregnancy hormone relaxin helping out I am in extreme pain, just waiting for the first trimester to be over and hopefully it will get a bit better.

Quick question started reducing progesterone support today is there anything I should look out for. Didn't get any information from OB they forgot to tell me when to stop support I had to ring midwife and ask.

hi saph - i didn't get told to keep an eye out for anything when i came off the crinone. but i wasn't on it for taht long. Good luck wth it and hope your other bubba feels better soon.

yaya greenslw - that's great. it's so nice to see genuine reactions from people you respect or whose opinion does matter to you! my GM nearly jumped over his desk to give me a hug... lol.

hi frsoty's mum = i don't think i've welcomed you! glad to have you here. i love this forum cos it's so positive and everyone so supportive. except like everyone is saying, this is a bumper AC year and so there's heaps of girls here... but hey, more the merrier! lol.

kellyD - oh lovey. remember you are so much stronger than you think you are. look at all you've come through to get this far... 12 little weeks, ha! you laugh in the face of adversity! okay maybe a little overly dramatic, but you get my drift. treat it like ivf - look at the little milestones, not the full race ahead. i hope it gets better for you... and you just know if bubby wsn't booting the crap out of you, you'd be worried sick! it's a double edge sword hey!

MHB - of all the girls on here, I think its your bub that should arrive a week or two early or on the due date... he's probably goig to be a complete angel when he arrives cos of all the terribe trouble he's caused for you. i really feel for you lovey. hang in there.

so good to hear from you neptune! and it sounds like you are taking the bleeding and op all in your stride, although it must have been heaps scary. Oh, and Happy Birthdday! big kudos for getting that back fixed!

murph - enjoy your camping trip. sounds great, just getting away and kicking back, very jealous lady!!! but that's one of the advantages of FNQ living in 'winter' lol.

afm - home sick today. I'm pretty sure it's just a head cold but am booked to see the doc at 8.45am tomorrow. had a major freak out last night that it is swine flu (goddam internet) and then broke down and cried for abot 20 minutes. i think i nearly made my darling darling Hubby cry too. I soooo don't want to be sick. i feel so awful, was already struggling. anyway, just feeling a bit down and out. the only thing i could get from the chemist was panadol and some strepels (at least they're medicated). but only want to take them sparingly. on the up side if it is that nasty-nasty SF, then, according to my research which freaked me out last night, i'll be seeing the doc in the perfect timeframe for the tamiflu shot and hopefully have been proactive enough that it won't be a horror story.

okay sorry bout the long post... but you know me!

hi to all the girls i haven't mentioned. I think the rule is keep posting even if you can't get a persie for everyone. I know we are all reading and keeping track of each other's journies. oxoxo

Crap! Passed a huge clot this morning, I'm in freaked out mode. I still got a heartbeat on the Doppler earlier, then the battery decided to die. Gynae can't fit me in till this pm, I think I'll go get some more batteries. I haven't had bleeding for 3 weeks now, why is this happening again? Far out.

Saph: My FS told me to stop the crinone at 10 weeks, like just stop it, no need to do step down or anything. The theory behind the 10 weeks is in natural conception, the corpus luteum (the follicle that The Winning Egg was expelled from) will produce progesterone to support the placental growth and endometrium thickness until about 10 weeks, when the placenta is firmly established and anchored, and the CL will naturally disappear after that as it's role is finished. As for us who went the IVF route, there is of course no CL, and no extra progesterone except the ones produced by the placental unit, which some FS believes is enough to sustain the pregnancy if it's going to stay anyway, hence some FS don't use extra progesterone support.

Grub for you......the really big difference between a cold and swine flu is the very sudden onset of swine flu/and or normal flu with high temperature.....a cold is more gradual. So hopefully you just have a rotten cold. I feel your terror though, I work in a bloomin hospital with swine flu all around me.......my DH wants me to take maternity leave NOW!!!!

KellyD - GL at the ob today I hope you get some answers for your pain. I'm sure the little devil will move to make you more comfy soon

    WElcome Frosty!

Hello to everyone else, hoep youa re all faring well

AFM: I have my colposcopy today at 2pm - a bit nervous frankly. Will see what they say and let you know later on.

thanks neptune, that's a great reassurance. Yep, I'm pretty sure it's a cold but i'm not really up on my cold/flu differnces (plus i did get the seasonal flu shot with my OB said would afford a limited measure of protection agains SF).
I think my little boy was also pleased to read your words - he's have a little dance
good luck and let us know how you go... oxoxo

Neptune, GL for your procedure today. Great that the physio was able to find a solution to your back pain. Must be a relief to be able to move again!

Frosty's Mum, any bleeding is scary. Hope your Dr can give you some answers this afternoon.

Grub, poor you! A cold is the last thing you need. When I was sick a few weeks ago it zapped all of my energy. I ended up going to see the GP for worries about it being swine flu too. She said as long as I haven't had a high temperature for a few days in a row then it doesn't fit symptoms of SF. It did eventually pass but takes so much longer to get rid of the cold when you can't take anything. I really hope it nicks off soon and you're feeling better.

Greenslw, well done for telling your boss. So glad it went well. GL for telling the big boss tomorrow. I'm sure it will all go fine.

Kelly, hope your appt this morning went well and your little girl is behaving herself. It seems like such a long wait to get to full term when the discomfort kicks in early. I guess at least if she's kicking up a storm then at least you have reassurance that she's happy inside you... just not so nice for you to put up with!

Murph, hope you have a great time camping. You're a bit of a trooper, camping in the middle of winter!

Hi to Jen, Saph, MHB, BDT and all the other girls who I missed. Hope you're all well.

AFM, ob appt this afternoon. Will let you know how it goes.

    Hi lovelies

Greenslw - so glad it went well telling work. I was crapping myself when I had to do it too. I hyperstimmed and was in hospital and sick as a dog for months, then finally got back to work only to have to tell them that I was going to be going again. But my boss was super excited for me too. It's so lovely when you get a genuine reaction like that isn't it. I'm so happy for you.

MHB - far out, you must be seriously tiny. I just measured myself around the middle - 92cm!!!! I can't believe it. I've started to waddle

Grub - hope you feel better and get reassurance at the dr. You'd have to have really rotten luck for it to be SF, and you're right - it's totally treatable within the timeframe. I asked my ob about it too, and he said it is a really sudden onset marked mainly be a raging fever and very very sore throat.

Neptune - so glad for you that the back pain has gone. I am longing for that day

Frosty's mum - big big big hugs to you. I hope everything is ok. Pls let us know. We are all thinking of you.

Kelly - I haven't had any cervical tap-dancing (thank god by the sound of it), but I am sleeping terribly. The problem is that whenever I need to get up in the night to go to the loo, the boys think I'm up for a party, and start kicking and rolling and generally having the time of their lives. Then I can't get to sleep for about 2 hours, finally falling back into a fitful sleep until about 10am, which of course puts my entire body clock out of synch, so the cycle keeps going. I've decided that tonight I am going to stay awake for as long as I possibly can and hopefully exhaust myself into sleeping through.

Kaydee - hope your appt goes well this afternoon. Let us know!

AFM, well have growth and well-being scan this afternoon, and can't wait to see my little beans wriggling away.

DH is taking me to Byron Bay this weekend for some pampering and bit of us time before our cozy little lovenest of 2 becomes 4! I can't wait.

Hi to all you other lovely things.

    Hi everyone

Just wanted to update you all that everything seems fine. My OB did a speculum exam to make sure that my cervix was still all fine as I was also experiencing some "leaking" so was getting concerned.

Can I just say having a speculum inserted when everything down there feels like it has gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson, is not the most pleasant... Ouch...

Well anyway the leaking is normal as the doctor advised that it was not amniotic fluid, but he advised that as you get further into pregnancy that the CM becomes more like water and can be confusing thinking it is fluid. The pain was just the baby being in a most uncomfortable position so all is normal here. Next appt in another 2 weeks, geez it is getting close now, on 2 weekly appt makes it seem like she will be here so soon.

Forgot to add that BT results all came back fine after fainting episode last week and no GD for me... Yay...

Hi Girls - have been away and I can't believe how exhausting this all is at this early stage! I don't know what i was expecting!

Smithy - hope your MS has slowed down good luck with the scan.

Jen77 - hope your scan goes well this afternoon

Kaydee - hope your appointment goes well today

Grub - how exciting a boy. I know try not to worry is not going to help - but hopefully it is just a cold - the media is not helping to relax mothers!~

Neptune - hope your procedure goes well today. I'm sure it wil.

Frosty - welcome - I hope all went well with your scan this afternoon.

Saph - wow hypomobile - did your FS say why you have this?

Murph - the morning sickness part sounds awful. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Babydreams - yeah I am having a scan next Monday (6 1/2 weeks). How come they are leaving yours until 8 1/2 weeks? Or is it they are really busy and can't get you in until then?

    AFM - just tired

    Good afternoon lovely ladies,

I'm so sorry i haven't posted for ages - i'm very slack but i did want you all to know that i lurk every other day and love keeping up with everyones progress!

Kaydee - you are so close and still sound so positive!! Hope your appt today went well and both bubs are playing nicely.

Jen - Byron Bay - i'm soooo jelous!! Hope your scan today went well.

Azza - hello to you - hope your travelling along well i caught up with your last scan results in the twins thread - when are you due for another?

Grub - sorry to hear you are sick - rest up and look after yourself. Oh and congrats on your blue bundle!!

Kelly - glad to hear your appt went well and you have the all clear as far as your recent scare goes.

Neptune - hope you got through the procedure today and i will be thinking of you while you wait for results.

Hello to every one else - hope eveyone is taking special care of their precious bundles!

AFM- had a scan almost 2 weeks ago - one of my boys is much smaller than the other - this may be because his umbilical cord has latched on to the very edge of the placenta whereas the other is smack bang in the middle and taking most of the good stuff. So we are going back for a scan this friday and they will be keeping and extra close eye on them - nothing to much to worry about and won't really know anything til the repeat scan friday - only 2 more sleeps yay! I'm still not feeling any definate movement which concerns me a little so will discuss that as well. Other than that i am growing huge! But i feel fantastic and am loving shopping etc. I finish work in 3.5 weeks so only 13 more shifts to go
Anyway better go we are out for dinner tonight so i better go and get organised.

    Take care everyone
    xxxxBella

Becc - being hypomobile is not a fertilty or pregnancy thing it is just the way I am. Pregnancy just makes it worse.

Smithy hope the MS gets better, you sound like I was with DS.

Thanks for all the advice on stopping progesterone support spoke to midwife again today and she didnt say to watch out for anything.

AFM Spoke to midwife today, they rang me. I am not immune to rebella so just have to watch out at work. We also have a non confirmed case of swine flu at the school so might be taking a few days off soon. I told my class today about the baby as I had 7 kids away sick today, so they would keep there germs at home. Like that will really work we are just a badly paid babysitting service most of the time. Sorry just venting over parents who send their kids to school sick because they have to go to work. Well guess what so do I and I dont want your kids making me sick. ARRRRGH

Jen, Byron Bay... sounds like a fantastic getaway for the weekend! Lucky you. Hope you have an awesome time. So glad you've started to waddle too!! Quack, quack!

Smithy, GL with your appt tomorrow and your scan on Friday. Hope all is well and your MS disappears as you near the 12 week mark.

Kelly, great to hear your GD results are clear. You must be relieved all is ok with your little girl after your appt today. Yay for fortnightly appts!

31becc, first trimester is exhausting. If you are anything like me, you'll have to record all the good shows on telly because you'll be asleep just as they're starting at 8:30! Take care and try to rest up when you need to.

Bella, GL for your scan on repeat Friday. Hope it brings good news on your little ones. I didn't feel movement until 21-22 weeks. Being my 2nd pregnancy and with twins I was expecting to feel movement so much earlier. Bring on the end of work!

AFM, ob appt today showed protein in urine again but blood pressure is fine so they're not too worried. Apparently as my kidneys are working hard to filter for me and both bubs, a bit of protein by now is to be expected. Just told to increase water intake. Planning on inducing me at 38 weeks which is Friday next week... but ob thinks I may go in the next few days Bub1 is engaged and ready to go. So exciting!! Back to ob on Monday for another appt if I'm still around. Woo hoo!

oh kaydee how exciting!!! this time next week you could be a mumma!!! good luck lady.

saph - i am hearing your gurrrrrlllllfriend! i got this bug i'm in bed with from work cos people are inconsiderate and think they are being a martyr by coming into the office hacking and spluttering all over. Not happy jan. One of the girls in my dept decided she would come to work despite her cold turnign to bronchitis and being told to stay home... boy did i guilt trip her; dobbed her inot the boss and she ended up leaving after 30 mins lol... but i feel for you... you can't do that with kids! bbrrrh.... people are so inconsiderate, thus my reason why "i hate people''.

bella - wootwoot for the 13 shifts left! you've got as many shifts as i have weeks oh dear. hope the other bub is all good despite a guts ache for a brother

bec - lol kaydee's comment about taping shows that start 'late' ie 8.30pm. In the first trimester I would go to work at 9am, finish at 2pm (my boss rocks) for a 2-3hr nap. DH would come home and make dinner by 5.30pm, then i'd be asleep again by 7pm, waking up 12-13 hrs later It did get better in the 2nd trimster for like 4 weeks, but you never return to prebaby wakefulness lol. I have been really really really tired over the past month and find even going for a walk exhausting. But some girls just glow and thrive in the 2nd trimester. Hope you start to feel better soon love. and take it easy. I have found that I can do 1 major task a day ie work or exercise or shopping etc. once i figured that out i was much better. Are you working full time??? do you get any slack in terms of early finishes etc?

kellyd glad ot hear it went and well and yaya for no GD!

    good luck today Neptune!

AFM: got a vaporiser yesterday and it really helped me sleep last nigth but am going to the gp this morning cos i think it's gone from my head to my chest
BUT on the baby front - Bluey is kicking up a storm. He just didn't stop yesterday and last night instead of watching TV we watched my belly move... very exciting. DH also felt his 2nd kick so that was just fabulous. Just a fortnight ago i was like you Bella, unsure whether it was movement or what, but now it's very definite. And when daddy got up at 6am, Bluey decided it was time to also get up hmmmm so at the moment i'm loving all the movment... but who wants to bet me within a few weeks I'll be complaining! lol.
