Pregnancy after Long Term TTC #5 - 2009

Hope you are all feeling well this sunny day!

Poppy: Awesome effort on those persies! If that is what you call a "c#%p" baby-brain effort then WOW full brain capacity must be sensational! You're putting me to shame girlie :p And your "treat me gently" description is spot on I think! If only we could all yell that to every insensitive nincompoop we meet! I must admit though I am VERY lucky, my OB is one that is recommended by our IVF and deals with a lot of post-IVF bubs and she is sooo down-to-earth, kind and reassuring and NEVER makes you feel like a paranoid idiot. The hospital I'll be delivering at is where all our IVF procedures were done and the staff there are great too and treat you with loads of respect, which we all so rightly deserve after all we've been through!

Saph: Congrats on the :stork-boy:! Remind me, is this what you had hoped for? Do you have any names picked out yet?

Smithy: :hooray: for belly bands! I love them! Kmart near us has some on sale and I got 1 for $5 and 1 for $10. I wear them every day, even if wearing longer tops as I find they give a great feeling of support too. How are you feeling these days hun? Any better?

Krikkit: You poor thing! I must admit I'm glad I don't know you or live near you becasue if I did I'm sure I would love nothing more to march over and give your mother a mouthful! How rude! I'm glad you've found a way to deal with it though and from here on it's :crossfingers: for you that everything goes swimmingly!

Seph: How you doing luv? Hopefully no moer probs. How are you feeling? PS feel free to rant, rave, panic & vent all you like. :hug: That's what we're here for and we all do it at one time or another!

Azz: LOVE the idea of the belated 30th! I didn't do anything for mine either becasue it was 3 months before my wedding and all too hard. Wish I'd thought of your idea! Might do it for my 35th! Other than that how u doing?

Hi to Grub, Greenslw, Bridget, BDT, Neptune (wherefore art thou?), Melbel & everyone else I've missed!

AFM: Nuchal scan yesterday. All good, heart 152bpm & fold measuring 1.62mm but still waiting on bloods as in all mybaby brain-ness I for some reason thought I hadn't got my referral yet so I didn't get the bloods done ahead of time. But I had, luckily the OB just laughed. She is soo good, nothing seems to faze her at all. So I had 2D, 3D & 4D scans done and I tell you the look of awe & excitement on DH's face will stay with me forever. It totally blew him away. All night he was bouncing around like a little kid. He's also now convinced it's a boy from the "features". I guess we'll just wait & see. I have some lovely photos to put up on our Photo site, just having trouble getting them off the disk. Other than that, all is good. Just counting down now to when my little goalie starts giving me great big kicks, I think I will finally be able to relax a little then.

Oh I ended up having to go out and buy all new underwear yesterday, I've outgrown everything else now. And I learned a brand new philosophy. I have always been strictly a pretty, lacy, matching lingerie type of girl. Well sadly no more. I've gone up 2 cup sizes, can't tolerate underwires anymore and the pretty stuff just has no support. You know your life has changed when it's full-figured granny bras and big cotton undies all the way for comfort and support because the hot little lacy numbers just aren't cutting it anymore :rofl:.

I am here! Reading and lurking every day but can't contibute much because of my carpal tunnel...very numb and painful hands so typing makes it worse.

38 weeks tomorrow anf having some mild contractions, worse than BH. No other signs though, still could be a couple of weeks.

Room not ready yet, but getting there, and DH working very hard and is motivated which is great. So I'm not stressing about that really, because ot of my control.

Neptune, my gosh you are getting close. So glad to hear things are progressing on the home front, it is my personal belief that things will always fall into place at the right time, I just bet you will have your nursery just in time. Looking forward to hearing your news.

BOC :leap: congrats on good news from your NT scan. It is always so nice and so reasuring to see that all is well in there. I have been doing some of my own gender predicting (obsessing :wall:) myself, there is a great US website called ingender, you can have a look at other peoples NT scans and try to spot the nubby and guess what the gender may be. If you have pics of your own that show the nubby you can also post and have others predict what yours will be. Something about the angle of the dangle. But I have to warn you it can be addictive.

Murph, yikes you were up late, is this what we all have to look forward to? GL with your report, and I am with you, looks like it will be singlets all the way for us too.

Poppy, very interesting re how they work out mat payment in the UK. I think I heard they are now doing 18 weeks mat pay at $500/w here, from the 1st Jan. I will have to investigate, I think this is in lieu of the baby bonus??? Re a winter birth, I have seen lots of cutie baby clothes for winter, a singlet and nappy isn't so glam (which is likely all we will have here in QLD heat). Hope you are taking it easy.

Lilmiss, great to see you on the weekend, hope all is well and looking forward to hearing about your NT scan too. Will be stalking you to hear your news.

Smithy, how are you lovely, has the ms left you yet? And go the belly bands on ebay, I picked up a few myself, though have ended up picking up a few maternity pants and they are really comfy as well.

Saph, big congrats on a :male:, and so glad you are feeling better with the ms.

Krikkit, I checked out your blog, hcg numbers look great, hope you are feeling more confident. Quick question, you mention that with combined prednisone and pessaries, there is a chance to miscarry, I hadn't heard that. I was on both until 13 weeks :D. Is this something your FS said?

Greenslw, I feeling the heartburn now too. Are you taking anything? And how exciting re a new car. :dance:

Grub, great news re DH being home at the right time. And how exciting re your baby shower, your invites sound lovely. Will be a nice keepsake. I will likely end up designing my own, and plan on having mine at about 26 weeks. Just want to make sure I am all organised in case I go early.

Bridget, thinking of you and hope all is well and the spotting has stopped. Let us know how you are going.

Seph, so sorry to hear about your spotting. I too had spotting, thought my cycle was all over, drank a bottle of wine, woke up the next day and POAS and it was + :redface:. But your numbers sound great and we have everything crossed it will continue.

MissMagpie, hi, not long until you finish work, hope you are tracking along ok. I am counting down too, 12 weeks for me lol.

Melbel, so good to see you in here and so happy to hear that all is well with your bubba. I know what you mean re Clexane bruises, my OB has me on them until 34 weeks, ouch! Does nothing for a bikini, but I don't care, as long as things go well. I pray for the same for you.

AFM, 19 weeks today :dance:, I feel like I have really popped out, and love my belly, DH is constantly amazed by it and feels free to touch and rub anytime he feels like it, among other things he likes to touch. Opps, meaning my b**bies, :redface:. Just trying to keep myself occupied in anticiaption of my morphology scan next Tue, I am dying for it, does the waiting never end? I have said to DH if for some reason they don't play ball and I can't know for sure, I will go crazy! I just want to shop now. I have lots planned for this weekend, I have list of all the baby stores on the GC and have planned out my route. Can't wait.

Bridget - thank you, it's nice to hear that I'm not going mad! I hope things are settling down for you.

BOC - yay for granny undies! My bras are already giving me grief, and it doesn't help that they're all old and falling to bits. I'm too scared to buy any new ones just yet, but I'm guessing they won't be frilly and lacy when I get around to it.

BDT - good luck for your scan next week, and thank you for your thoughts. I had what appears to have been some implantation spotting at 9dpo, and told my boss that I was going to have to sign up for another stim cycle - turns out I don't have to, but had to go back and explain that to him!

:hello: to everyone else, I know I missed so many of you but I love reading about your pregnancies and feeling so supported in here. :bellyrubs: to everyone.

AFM, a little bit more spotting but feeling okay about it. I HATE it, it makes me so anxious, but I'm accepting that, at least at this stage, there's nothing to worry about. Plus, today marks my first day of needing to pee constantly, so I now have another reason to rush to the loo all the time. Have also felt a bit 'wet' but it's all clear, not brown (sorry, TMI).

Oh, and DH is making me laugh. He is going to download the What to Expect Pregnancy application onto his iPhone - so cute! He's been very good to me the last few days, taking my meltdowns in his stride and giving me lots of hugs. And when I rang him this afternoon to complain that I was peeing constantly he said "Ugh, yeah I know, me too!" :rolleyes: I told him that he can't steal my pregnancy symptoms from me.

Oh, and funniest of all - I told DH I was interested in a water birth - I've heard good things about giving birth in water and I want to see if I can do it too (I don't think my local birthing centre has pools, but it's just an idea anyway). DH told me that I can't do a water birth because "that's so weird." I was like, WTF? what do you know about water birth anyway? And excuse me, but unless you plan on pushing a watermelon out of your urethra, you have no say in it!

And Poppyfairy mentioned my avatar name - Persephone was the embodiment of the Earth's fertility at the same time that she was the Queen of the Underworld. My real name is not Persephone, but it's the name DH and I thought we would call the belly bump when it starts showing (if it's a girl.) - because it has a deeper meaning but is also quite unique. If it's a boy bump then it will be Aristotle. The baby itself will not be called Persephone or Aristotle, but that's a whole other thread.

I'm going away to a Yoga Retreat for the weekend, can't wait - exactly what I need to relax into the pregnancy and enjoy myself. Will be back next week.

Hi All

Just popping in to say I'm still here and thinking of you all. Had OB appt today and my OB is now on holidays so new OB next week for delivery. I have been told that baby is ready to go any day now and could possible beat my OB going on holidays as he doesn't leave until tomorrow afternoon.... My 36 week blood work came back showing that my iron levels have dropped substantially from 26 weeks so I'm now on iron tablets and a red meat diet until bubs arrives. Was told nothing much to worry about but seeing I'm having a c/s they want to get it up a bit due to possible blood loss during surgery.

If nothing happens in the meantime, I'm at 11 days and counting but thinking I had better not stray too far from home just in case something happens. Although tomorrow is DH's birthday and we are going out for Mexican dinner which I am hanging for, so please little one hold on for a few more days at least.

Kelly maybe the mexican will do the trick.

I have all of a sudden popped. Dh opened the front door yesterday to a supprised look and a big grin as he saw my belly enter before me. Last night my boy (Actually I tell DH it is his son when he does these things) joined the all night rave. But I think it was because I couldnt sleep.
Here goes the family rant. My MIL moved in yesterday. Along with her insane dog (which after one night is being kicked out to the kennel). Long story she had an affair then her husband went and shacked up with her sister. Gross I know. So they after 2 years have finally sold the house and she had no where to go so she and all her house moved in with us hopefully only for a few weeks. Then at 10pm last night my FIL rings and asks if he can move in today because her sister (who is completely nuts) is ranting and raving in the back ground is kicking him out. We have been trying to get him to leave her for 2 years she is absolutely toxic for him. So, yes both of my DH parents who are getting divorced want to live with us at the same time. My party is in two days, there is crap all over my house, I have a cold and I just want to run away. ARRRGH.:doh::wall:
But on an up note I have not had a recent infection of slap cheek so at this stage I am not moving in to the OB's office, but on second thoughts it would get me out of here.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day. I am off to my pregnancy massage now if the window cleaner ever leaves.

ATM. I realised I'm going to be 24 weeks Sunday, Funny another milestone and It's come so fast. DF is off to his place Friday, giving me a night in the bed on my own. Then I'm heading down there Saturday night after work, I'm going to let the little (children) out early so I can leasurly drive the 2 hours to the boat. I hate rushing it drives me mental especially on a long weekend. DF is going to be doing house building and I'm going to relax, bring my scetch book, Latch Hooking and lots of books and food and have some out of the city me time.

I'm so wanting to shop but money is disapearing to bill land so I'm waiting. ahhhh I HATE WAITING!

Neptune, so glad to hear you are still with us, but sorry to hear about the hands giving you grief. You may be one of very few who go to full term, but it's not long now :D. great stuff re your DH making progress with the cleaning up and motivation.

Me+Him+Johnathon:D No offence but I will need to read a lot of good birth stories to make up for yours. what you have been through is horrendous, but always one to find a positive, your story gave me goosies when I read that your stars were all in alignment the night that DF proposed and Johnathon was naturally conceived. that is a beautiful memory and I'm sure you will be reminded of others as time heals your wounds :hug:

AFM: Little Miss Jazz is off to have a Chinese moxa treatment tomorrow (accupuncture) to see if she will turn for us. Next week is my 36 week appt and I guess that's when we'll have a bit of a plan one way or the other and find out if she is going to stay breech. All I know for certain is that I won't consider any kind of physical manipulation so if it's c/s then so be it.

Hello to everyone, but am having trouble with back pain and not up to writing too much after working on and (nearly finishing) my psych report today. I thought I'd need an extension, because I have slept sooo much when I should have been working.

Just a quick one from me my c-section has been canncelled there are no incubators left in the nursery a lady had triplets lastnight how can I be annoyed at that. My OB has re-book me in for tuesday the 13th because she will be going on holidays on saturday for a week. I have a couple of scans booked just to make sure they are doing ok.

Hey there Azz - ahh, what a bummer hey? The race is on now between KellyD (c/s booked for 12th) and you if you don't do something unpredictable in the meantime. What's with those Obs going on holidays right when you need them hey? I hope you are not disappointed, a little more time to cook and like you said, they will be monitoring you.

Just a little note to Greenslw - enjoy that lovely you time, sounds like you have it all planned and i hope it's everything you need it to be.

Azz: So sorry to hear of the delay, that must be driving you nuts! Pain about the OB going away, that is the first thing I asked mine before I booked, and luckily she's not planning any between now & April! Anyway I hope time zooms by and the 13th gets here really quick for you. Until then, legs crossed young lady! :D

AFM All good. Nothing new to report. That's always a good sign! There was a nasty bushfire nearby last night and DH got stuck at a roadblock, had to drive an extra hour or so the long way around to get home. The substation caught fire so we had no power for a while. My mother, bless her, rang me in a panic thinking I was going to fall down the stairs or crash into something in the dark. My only complaint, we have an electronic garage door & I can't reach the override switch so I couldn't get my car out to go anywhere and I was STARVING hahaha. Anyway DH finally arrived home to find me beached whale-esque on the recliner in the candlelit loungeroom having a bowl of Special K for dinner :lol:

Oh yeah, been having some very weird dreams again, including one this morning where a certain friend of mine (who is being a sulky little cow over my pg) went into a jealous rage and stabbed me 5 times with a pair of scissors! Well I'm meant to be seeing her, alone, tomorrow... a little nervous now :rofl:

Sorry I'm a bit me orientated at the moment, I'm reading everyones posts but finding it so hard now to keep up.

Well still here with 9 days to go although I have severe back pain and massive low down pain and I have been having an increase in discharge (sorry TMI) just clear watery stuff and have had to change my knickers 3 times since yesterday afternoon. So going to see how things go today, especially the discharge and if it gets more I think will call the hossy to get an idea from them.

Hi Murph and Jazz, Jazz I hope your turned for your mummy. Goodluck Murph. Not long now :D The me time was great, had bit of a mini meltdown on the couch just feeling overwelmed with all the "stuff" in my life, had a good sook and felt so much better.

oh azz :hug: are you ok with the shift in dates?

BOC bush fires are pretty scary, do you have an "action plan" I lived in a remote part of SA and I know I had a very clear exit plan. Part of living in the beauty of the bush I know but good to have a plan, maybe mum should know it too. Gota love mums that worry.

Smithy being booked in is a nice feeling isn't it.

ATM: well I had me time last night, and today I do feel much better, I had a bit of a cry on the couch, still feeling very overwelmed with work and the staff still being :wall: a pain in the but, with my DF seeming lack of empathy for how tired I am and that I can't do as much as I used too. And the still unsaid conversation about DF wanting to leave the city sooner than we had planned.

I'm hoping that this weekend we can actually talk about it. I think I'm going to come at it from a "best situation" rather than a compromise as a compromise seams like Loose Loose and that's not good for any of us.

My body is being weird, I've been feeling a kind of bruised feeling around my belly button the last week and even stretchy pants are uncomfortable. I think my belly is really popping out now. It's nice but not overly comfortable.

Oh Squeak is flipping all over the place around lunch and when I get home, I love it but it is very distracting.

Hi Girls

Another update... Back from 2 1/2 hours at hossy being monitored. It seems that I am actually getting contractions but just mild ones at the moment, OB came to check me out and have been told that my cervix is softening but still closed at the moment (although he could push it to 1 if he had too). Baby is still fine, so have been sent home to see if anything changes in the next day or so. They didn't want to c/s today as we are only just at 37 weeks so hoping that we can keep her in for a few more days before possibly delivering this week.

Just a heads up, if you happen to get really bad pains around your cervix area and an associated sore bad with BH contractions, you could actually be in pre labour or labour as the midwife at the hospital told me that as your uterus contracts the pain radiates into your cervix (who would have guessed, I was waiting for pains in my stomach).

I'll keep you all updated if anything changes.

Kelly, thanks for the heads up re back pain symptoms. Since I had my moxa treatment, I've been feeling like I should be careful what I wish for and hope I don't make her come sooner. No turning yet but lots of tumbling still. You're so close to going naturally considering you aren't due til a few weeks after the c/s booking anyway hey? Take care and lotsa luck for keeping her put til you're ready.

Feeling crook with reflux, not up to doing much, just up...urghh. Grub, I'll finally answer your comment about the t.v and couch potato hobby. Ihave neither the t.v or the couch...hee hee. Decided against the t.v. I live in the Daintree man!! It's just sacrilage (sp) to invite the Demtel man and Oprah into my beautiful life on the hill. I went shopping open to buying a new one and there was a daytime infomercial and nup...I couldn't do it...so I'm cured So no comfy slouchy couch either as we gave away our gorgeous big fluffy $3000 couch to a friend up the road when we moved here. It was the day bed which is uncomfy but suits the open style of the house or the big yellow yummy comfy couch. We have learnt to let go of a lot to live this lifestyle but well I'm sure I do't have to tell you how much we've gained. It's okay I can brag cos we don't know where we'll be in a few month's time when we have to leave the dream behind us (maybe).

Can I just tell you Greenslw, I cried today too mate and I really have nothing to cry over, just a bit of uncertainty and built up tension I spose, so when I tripped on a dog's bed and hit my head on my brass bell chimes (and it really hurt), I just went outside and buried my face for a bit of a pity party. I just had a bit of a gutful of having my body overtaken and feeling sick and pregnant and trying to balance times when you feel well enough to work on damn uni and blah blah. Nothing at all really but just a build up. You on the other hand have real stuff going on and it's no wonder you're having a mini-meltdown and you're still yet to have the talk about the unhappy DF and future decisions. take care of you and don't rush things

My doctors have let me go out for lunch which was nice. I hope you and you DF manage to have that conversation it might take some of the pressure off you.

BOC my OB has her holidays in the reception area and my DH and I said I hope these boys don't come in october:rolleyes: I hope you are ok and the bushfire doesn't get to bad for you, do you have a plan.

Murph how annoying is that darn reflux omg. When I get it, it burns my throat and it hurts to eat.

Azz: No they gave me nothing to stop the contractions as we are now over 37 weeks and with the c/s scheduled on the 12th we are now just waiting to see if things get moving themselves or if I last until the 12th.

Today has been weird, my back is killing me and it feels like the contractions are happening almost constantly but I am now getting tightening around my ribs as well, so it feels like I am in a corset and getting squeezed. At least I am getting sleep which is a bonus but will see what happens the next few nights. I have an appointment with the OB on Tuesday so will see if there is any change to the plans but if I have to suffer pre labour pains for the week I will be utterly shattered as I just can't get comfy at all. Here was me thinking I would be fine up until c/s date and just breeze in have the surgery and then have a healthy bub. It appears my body wants me to suffer some kind of labour anyway and then I have the recovery from surgery as well..ahhhhhh something I was trying to avoid.

Kelly - I hope something happens quickly for you. That is surely against the Geneva Convention to expect someone to put up with labour pains for more than a week!!!

Murph - your Daintree dream sounds lovely. We moved from the bright lights of London to the country in Somerset recently and also turfed the TV. Our loungeroom is so cosy now without that big dominating monster in it! We found we were paying for a TV licence and cable and were just watching the same DIY repeats or crap soaps. The thing that ****ed me off most was paying extra for cable and it all being repeats and the amount of ads on it. We were paying to watch ads!!! We listen to the radio now. Radio plays are quite good and you can move about while listening to them. There are some pretty funny comedy radio shows on here too. So now we are doing a lot more like painting, drawing, knitting, being creative in the kitchen (I am a king jam, pickle and wine maker now!) and can listen to great music or just switch it off and talk!!! I feel like I am living life now rather than just watching other people on the Tv living it!!!

Greenslw- Sorry to hear about life being uncertain at the moment. Just when you need to have some security! I know all I want to concentrate on is growing this baby and having a home to bring it to. Sometimes my DH comes home saying he hates his job and employer and wants to pack up and move to another county. I hate it! Sometimes they just need to vent and men tend to make big announcements out of nowhere as they tend to stew on things and we don't hear about it until they have got really fed up. We women will talk and talk it out so usually there are no surprises in what we feel about things. Hopefully having got it out into the open air your DH can start to talk about it with you and it may not be as drastic as you fear. Fingers crossed!

Smithy - it is great being able to finally shop knowing what colour is ok! We were buying blue anyway as we thought a girl can wear blue but now we know that pink is definitely out!

Azz - pity about the wait. Sounds painful having two kicking! It is bad enoough with one!

Saph - Happy belated birthday! Hope you got tons of presents for you and not for the baby! I always make a point of giving pregnant birthday girls a very girly 'me' present. Too many people buy stuff for the baby and although it is welcome it must be sad not to get any 'special' presents!

BOC - The pregnant dreams are weird aren't they. I keep on dreaming I give birth to a cat! It starts off as a baby but as soon as it is put on my chest it turns into a cat. the breastfeeding a cat dream has to be my weirdest!!!

Everyone else - belly rubs!!! Sorry if I have missed you!

AFM - DH is unable to get to work as his car died. The scrapper man picked it up yesterday. We are in a remote rural area and it seems impossible to find another car. I am supposed to be looking for a car on the net now. DH has banned himself from looking as he bought a car from a car auction last week (he was trying to get one before his car died as he knew it was about to happen) and it died on the way home. The scrapper man wouldn't even give us 50 pounds for it and it is now sitting in our garage, unregistered and dead after using up a lot of our final savings. DH doesn't trust his judgment so seems to think I can do a better job of finding the next car!!! I have no idea! Last thing I want to think about.
Baby is kicking in response to touch and sound now. We play lots of games with my belly now getting him to kick and watching my belly move!!

Hi Girls
Just wanted to say to those girls ready to be delivered in the coming weeks, i had no idea what was going on what i thought was a case of thruch was actually my mucus plug..oops then felt really off on the friday and cancelled my OB appointment and bikini wax. Woke up with a gush on Anzac day 2 weeks before my C/S date and only became concerned as it was a bit bloody. Got to hospital only to be told i needed an emergency caesarian..2 hours later Jacob was in my arms. My only regret was there was no time for mum to be with me or even know!

So be prepared and try to listen to your body!

Oh and KellyD if you planning on a bikini wax, do it ASAP otherwise your in for the worst shave, I dont think it will be long now!

Azz- Your amazing cooking those precious boys, i would have been shattered but with your usual grace you have accepted the hand you are dealt. Goodluck with everything!

AFM - Not much to report here - last scan showed the boys were happy twin 1 was 1170g and twin 2 was 1000g - so have both hit the kilo mark now which i must say was a bit of an unexpected relief? I'm growing rapidly and getting very very uncomfortable and tired - winge winge! I have begun to get my hospital bags organised although i'm not getting very far :rolleyes:. My blood pressure was all good at last appt so lets hope it stays that way! Next appt and Scan this coming friday when i will be 30weeks - and on the downhill strtch well and truly.

Wow, there is a bit of a race to the end.

I here you Murph about your body. This last part is so hard. No feeling in my hands, can hardly hold a book to read. I"ve woken up this morning wiht sore, red eyes (???who knows what that is) and feel nauseous and gross. I just want my body back.

On the house front, things are a lot better...not perfect...but heaps better. The nursery is not ready, but there is at least room to set up the cot etc if little man arrives today. The main part of the house (kitchen, hallway. lounge bathroom) are clear. This happened in one day becasue my parents arrived from Melbourne. Hehehe it was very amusing seeing how fast DH could actually MOVE when he knew my parents were popping in for a cup of tea.

I am actually past caring now, but can see the light! It feels great to have some space to move and not trip over things all the time. :p

Greenslw, I am feeling the same pains as you, sort of heavy, stretchy, if I walk around to much I feel a bit of downward pressure and my belly feels sore. I kind of want to tense my tummy muscles back in to get some relief but it doesn't quite work. Some people have suggested I look about 26 weeks or so by my size, which is scary, still a long way to go. Hope you are taking care.

AFM, am super excited I have my morphology scan tomorrow afternoon, they have told me be prepared for a 3 hour scan, hope my back does not play up, but just can't wait. Will pop back in tomorrow night with the official verdict!!

Well my party was fantastic, small and interment just like I wanted.

My actual birthday the day after was not so flash. As it was nice and sunny we decided to take DS to the beach. My MS was so bad that I threw up on our way up and then twice more on the way and then I decided to come home and DH could take him to our local beach and threw up when we got home. I ended up with another bout of sinusitis and spent the whole day in bed. (which wasn't so bad but it would have been better without the headache.)

BD good luck today. Our scan for one too over and hour as he wouldn't behave and refused to move. Hope you back is okay. Make sure you as them to stop if it gets to much.

Kelly I have my fingers crossed for you that it happens soon.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about the bushfires.The area burnt was about 3km by about 3km, which isn't huge, but it was close to a lot of homes and even at the roadblock DH said he was worried watching it roaring towards them, which is why he turned around & went the long way. They weren't really that close to our home, about 3km away but that being said, we have a reserve out the back and every school holidays without fail some idiot manages to set fire to it, the fire brigade takes about half an hour to come out & by that time one of the neighbours has usually put it out anyway :rolleyes:. It was a bit of a wake up call though, having no power and our non-electric emergency phone had died (especially bad seeing as we don't get mobile service in the house when my phone rings I have to run out the front to the driveway) and I had no way of getting my car out of the garage so yes, I will be putting together a plan.

Hey can I ask a few questions to you keepers of all knowledge?

1) Do all Morphology scans take over an hour? Why is that? Is it only if you're trying to find out the sex of the baby?

2) Has anyone used a Valco Matrix or a Beema Q Swallow pram? These are the 2 I am down to, had plenty of good feedback on both but always keen for more.

3) I have been given the okay to go ahead and decorate the nursery any way I want (YAY!!!) and seeing as our colour scheme is blue I'm going for an under the sea theme. Anyone know where I can get vinyl removable fish-type stickers other than eBay? ANy other suggestions on what I could do? I'm sooo not creative!

Ok well I better run now, hope you all enjoy the rest of your week! We're off to Sydney tonight to spend a few days with DH's eldest son's 2 older kids, aged 9 & 11. It's great that we're all speaking again and we haven't spent time with the kids in ages so really looking forward to it, & they're excited too. It may also be the last chance we get to spend time one-on-one with them before the baby comes, so here's :crossfingers: nothing gets in our way!

So am linking as you mentioned fish, and this seemed reasonably priced.

Re the 20 week scan, from my understanding they measure everything ie lengths of all the bones, have a detailed look at internal organs etc, officially they don't do these scans for gender determination, it is just a bonus. Have fun decorating!

Murph I reccon the babies are causing an increase in "pitty parties" I am normally a very stong girl, Fight before cry every time but now. Well we had the talk, while DF was screwing and glewing battons to his ceiling I brought up a cuppa and got into him subtally. Boys are always better at talking when they have their hands full (steering wheel, tools etc.) Probably not a chain saw though :D. So we went to the local farmers market early in the morning and saw his former employer and he told them he'd be back at the end of next year. I didn't loose my cool just moved on. When we got home I needed to know, I'm feeling way out of the loop and not coping so here goes. "babe, you know I wont be a Social Worker here right?" and then it lead to "we'll work it out" his thinking is 3-4 days away then home with baby for the rest of the time, I guess it's not ideal but much better than off I go see ya later. Also with DSS still at school I'm not ready for baby + teenager on my own. So we talked and I feel better. I don't know how many times I tell him to "TALK TO ME" because in my mind it's always 100x worse. but he is a man ;) p.s. well done on no tv you are a legand!

Poppyfairy, I second your comments in entirety. I get the sugar honey ice tea with my job all the time and want to move to Darwin, but when you're pg it's NOT THE TIME. Even to vent. here's hoping at some point your DH and my DF get that. Goodluck car hunting.

ATM a new woman, after my long talk with DF I realised that he was thinking of me and I was thinking things were 100x worse than they were, but still (again) needed to tell him to TALK TO ME. I had a great time in the country saw so many people who were all really excited for us re baby to be.

The house was beautiful, nice to sit by the fire and chill out. I planted some treas two years ago and they were a little worse for ware (dam snails) so I did a little gardening and felt really good about it. It rained too and on the tin room it was really soothing :redface: had a reall ;) good weekend

Further update - tried earlier but the site was down.

Well OB confirmed we are still all go for Monday 12th, he did a scan to check the position of the baby and the placenta before the surgery and he said that even though she is head down she has not even moved into my pelvis as he thinks that her head is not in the correct position for this to happen. Basically if we hadn't gone the elective c/s route he would have probably recommended it to us now anyway as he doesn't think she has any chance of coming out normally. Also he advised that the placenta is also laying very low, luckily not over the cervix but still pretty low so another potential option for a c/s as well. It seems I was destined to go the c/s route no matter what.

What this also means is that even though I am getting contractions and discomfort there is little to no chance of it progressing further due to her positioning, so I now just have to tough it out until Monday, but at 6 more sleeps to go I suppose I have waited this long so a few more days isn't going to kill me.

BDT: I hope your scan went well today and that you can feel more confident about your colours and hit the shops.

Got a few lovely 4D pics, they look like pretty princesses already lol. DH is happy, I 'm glad we had the last couple of weeks prep for him to get used to the idea, so he is excited and can't wait either.
