Smithy I'm still in shock at the 3rd Trimester and how it popped up so quick :) but tiz good.

Grub, sorry I'm probably the vague one :) no deffinate date, I'm just hoping it is after bubs arrives, I don't feel like I can say no to work in the first term. So fingers crossed Squeak (baby to be) is early and Tafe is Late :) Hope you enjoy your time with mum

Bella, so exciting about babyshower, mine is on the 5th of Dec, I can't wait. Sounds like your almost there just waiting for T1 and T2 to apear :)

BOC I'm doing great, I'm back into the frame of mind that if I can't I wont and things seam to be easier. Funny how I go back to "super woman" when I let my guard down and try and do it all. It is a very consious choice to let things go. Glad I could be of help. Sounds like you're being "super woman" too. when I pushed on a hard bit in my belly the other day I got alot of very quick movement so no more poking the baby for me (unless it's up under my ribs, like sunday). I actually had kicking up on the righ side of my rib cage and punching (I assume) on the left side of my lowwer belly the other day. I wonder how big Squeak is? scarry.

ATM sitting at my desk poking in some salad and really enjoying catching up on all the BB goss, I must do this more often.

Oh did I mention, my rings don't fit anymore! so around my neck they go.

Sorry about my rant yesterday:redface:, was having a really bad day. I have just had a day on the couch today so am feeling a little better.

A little depressed right now ( not really) be trying to work out our budget for next year to see if we can fit in a holiday to phuket for our wedding anniversary. Doesnt look like the budget can stretch that far. Oh well a weekend in our camper trailor will have to do it. Shouldnt complain to much we are doing a adelaide townsville run after the baby is born to show off to the family. so we do get a holiday.

Wow I must feel great as I havent done this for a long time, sorry for being a bit self centered but pain tends to do that to you. Not even that sad about not going on holidays. Just trying to stop myself from doing to much because I feel good. My house is a tip but who cares at least I am in less pain today.

Lets hope this works my battery went flat and I had to conect to the power fingers crossed that the babbling stops now.

hey saph - don't worry about the house being a tip and very good advice there on not doing too much. I fell into a lot of trouble cos i was trying to work full time and keep house and exercise and do all the things i would normally. even now when i feel good, i do half of what i would normally and still need a rest. It's hard to tho when there is stuff to be done! especially when all you want to do is vacuum... but i haven't done that cos i know it'll kill my back and will be just too much for me! it's awful feeling ussless and is worse without anyone around to do it for you!

so when my mum comes on thurs, she's going to think i live like a pig lol. at least with the floors! But greenslw lovely, there's a message there for you! take it easy on yourself.

as for rants/selfish posts - seriously lovely, i don't remember reading your posts like that. i think you are a champ - doing all this pregnancy thing, while in extra pain and with another little one! it makes me tired just thinking about it!

oh boc i'm so glad we have an heir apparent to the gasbag posts lol. Murph... look what we did! heheehe, kinda feel like a proud parent lol. ;) But i'm so glad your cookie is kicking you. even now the 'nasty' kicks make me smile.

bella, so glad you had a great bub shower, mine is on nov 15 and i'm super excited. thanks for sharing about how you are carrying and its impacts. I've had heaps of sciatica pain and back pain this whole pregnancy and completely understand. the carrying low explanation certainly explains a lot!

feeling good today... but i did have a 2hr sleep so maybe that helps. Only a few days left at work yiippeeee!!! i'm at the getting way way excited about our new arrival and get giddy when i think how soon it is! i just can't wait!!! and i've realised i still don't believe this is actually happening... we are the ones who can't have kids! who always get BFN - we aren't the 'lucky' ones whose dream comes true!!! and as a result i've been worrying about 'something' bad happening but am trying to put that out of my mind and enjoy all we've been given. I'm so thankful - i know you girls will understand what i mean.

oh, that doesn't mean i'm not going to stop whinging about back pain lol.

Grub - YAY to finishing work!!!! Glad you're feeling a little better. I know what you mean about the arrival of our little ones. It seems not long ago we got out BFP and now our due dates are just around the corner :dance:

Saph - rant and vent away, thats what we are here for. Thats a bugger about your o/s trip next year but some kind of trip away will be good for you all. Glad your pain is a little better. Take care of yourself.

BOC - LOVE the new Avi :D What great news about your job, that must be such a relief!
Isnt it the best feeling when bubs kicks. I cant get enough of it, hehe I too find cold drinks sets him/her off!!!!

Greenslw - thats a bugger about your rings not fitting but its best to not wear them now rather than having to get them cut off later on. I had to do that with one of my rings which was disappointing but it had to be done.

Bella - glad your baby shower went well and you got spoilt :dance: Good to hear your feeling ready for the arrival of your little ones, it wont be long now!

Murph - just in case Im not online before Thursday, all the very best for the arrival of Jasmine. You did beat me in the end after all, hehe I still remember getting my BFP just after you and have been following your progress ever since as I was only a step behind you. Hope all goes well and look forward to hearing all about it. xx

Hello to everyone else :D

AFM, saw my obstetrician for the last time yesterday before the delivery next week. It all made it so REAL listening to him go through the c/s procedure etc. It all seemed straight forward and Im feeling comfortable about it all. 8 days now and counting!!!! Im more worried about how Im going to go breastfeeding etc than anything else as Ive had 2 big tummy ops so know what the recovery/pain is like. I just hope I will be able to cope with it all. Its all very daunting that the sole responsibility of our baby is with my DP and I. But I have been looking forward to motherhood for so long that the anticipation is killing me! Cant wait to know if I have a pink or blue bundle either :D It doesnt matter which one it is, as long as its healthy.

AFM. Well, it's a BOY!!!!!!!! I was very shocked (as I was convinced I was having a girl) but we are overjoyed. No names yet so any ideas would be most welcome.

Miss M: Wow only 8 more days left until you meet your bubba. How time has flown, I remember me, Murph and then you all getting our BFP's close together and sharing our pregnancies together as well. Now with Tara being here, Murph having Jazzy on Thursday and you next week I seems unreal that we have all made it into motherhood. I hope everything goes well for your c/s and my recommendation re: b/f and your wound, if you can take a tri-pillow into hospital with you and when you feed place it around your waist and rest bubba on it to feed. It helps to ease any pressure on your wound, plus it raises baby higher to be at a better high to latch on instead of your having to hold the baby higher. Trust me after a while they get quite heavy to hold in one position and once baby has latched on the last thing you want to do is move the baby to get more comfy.

I look forward to hearing your BA and also look forward to sharing your parenting journey on the flip side as well.

Remember me? I disappeared for a while, cause MS is so gross that staring at a computer is not fun. But lots of B6 and gluco-support tablets are making me feel a bit better. Now I just need to cope with the fatigue - I'm soooo tired.

Anyway, I've just blogged, in case anyone is interested. I can't seem to link the entry, but it's in the BB Blog section anyway.

I will try and be here more often, but that might be second trimester when I can stay awake for longer than an hour!

well C-Day tomorrow and I will go into lock-down mode this afternoon where I switch everything off and wind down for my zen birth experience;) Deep breaths. Tonight we're booked into a motel next door to the hospi on the esplanade and we have to rock up at 6.30a.m even though I'm not up til about 11. Mmm, 12 hours of ice chips, gotta love that. Kelly, yet another good idea the tri pillow. Better get that on the list. Another tip form a girlfriend is look after your bowels or you feel like you are passing watermelons. Well I'm telling family to come bearing prune juice, not flowers!

I'll warn you that my computer has packed it in and I am relying on getting access to DHs every now and then but I hate using it in case I give it a virus or something cos it has 4 years of his PhD work due in January:doh: It's backed up but still, I would die if I lost anything. As for me, I've blown another mother board but this time I was backed up too so didn't lose everything (again). I'm also rambling and had another sleepless night. Soooo, my point is I may not get to tell yo my news for a bit, but there's not much you don't know except size and health..kinda important I know, so I will let you know as soon as possible.

I finally achieved that elusive BFP and thought I might pop in and introduce myself.

We received confirmation on Monday that out 1 little FET miracle decided to stick. It seems that I have been dreaming about being pregnant for so long and now that I am, I don't quiet know what to do with myself. Their is so much to take in and I definitely have a lot of reading to do. I am trying to get my head around what I can and can't eat at the moment. The biggest struggle is definitely lunch... vegetarian sandwiches are going to get boring.

There are a few familiar names in here and I am sure I will get to know the rest of you shortly.

I've only got 7 weeks til bub arrives and i STILL don't believe i'm UTD lol. so don't worry about the whole thing feeling strange and surreal - i think that's pretty normal.

for me it really became 'real' about week 14 after the 12 week scan and into the 2nd trimester. when are your scan dates? do you have a due date yet?

i hope you find this thread as lovely and supportive as i have. these girls rock!

seph - gald you are feeling better with the tabs love. the fatigue is something i've really battled the entire time. i only got about 6 weeks in the 2nd trimester wehre i felt relatively normal, it really sucks hey!

hi greenslwe, saph, miss tania, boc, sammiejam, bella, bdt, smithy, lise and all the other mummies-in-waiting.

afm: home today but am about to head into the obs. we'll discuss last week's scan. made Dh's chrissy pressie! it looks good. i hope he likes it (i made him a recipe book, he had all his 'invention' cakes/muffins on scraps of paper shoved into the book cupboard lol).

work held a little farewell mornign tea for me yesterday - they all threw in and got be a $75 vucher for a day spa! sooo excited. i'll be using that next week! lol. and they had a lovely card too... all going out for dinner on friday, i feel spesh.

grub - thanks for the welcome. It is definitely still feeling quiet surreal. I don't really have any symptoms besides occasional sore boobs and tummy twinges so don't really feel pregnant yet. I don't have definite dates for scans, although my clinic said I will have a scan in about 2 weeks to check the hear beat. Then 12 weeks will be just before Christmas and due date is 5 July at this stage.

7 weeks to go..... I am sure that will come along quickly and make for an extra special Christmas!

ATM HOT! but love the sun, Yesterday was fantastic and agravating. I had a phone call with another manager who said "are you shore you only want 13 weeks off, you may have some mothering feelings after all" OMG :wall: are we back in the 50's or what!
My assistant just patted me on the back and smiled which was really nice. Also my staff are planning a 'secret' baby shower for me :D so nice, My assistant told me but I'm playing dumb (who's kidding at the moment I am dumb).

Did some weeding yesterday and have definatly realised I can't do as much as I used to, at the gym this morning I had to tone it down around the circuit two. Nothing big just a little pain in my belly, stopped when I walked instead of jogged inbetween stations.

It's going to be 34C on monday when did summer happen in November? oh well on with the air con!

thanks to all for the warm welcomes! I got quite comfy in my old LLTTC thread, and with so many in here I was a little overwhelmed at first wondering how i'd keep up with everyone. Although i'm only in the very early stages of pregnancy, I seem to have already developed quite the baby brain...!

Bella - your baby shower sounds great! Doesn't seem like there' much longer for you now - do you have a plan for an early introduction to the world for your two boys given there's two of them? From what I understand they're usually early???

Saph - wow, what a drug regime, I feel for you! I've been struggling with dreadful hayfever, but so far Polaramine seems to be doing the trick, even if it making me incredibly drowsy... I hope you find a way to fit some kind of break in, even if it's a weekend away somewhere.

BOC - thanks also for the advice! We have our first scan next week which i'm REALLY looking forward to (if only to see if there's one or two on board...!). From what I can gather, they might be able to see the heart beat even this early which would be incredible! But I think i'll be the same, and feel much relieved when I know it's all okay.

Greenslw - apologise if you've mentioned this earlier and i've missed it, but you're studying/planning on studying as well next year? I'm full of admiration! I was planning on going back to uni, but i'm not sure I could handle it (well really i'm not sure my brain would be up for it!).

Miss Magpie - I will certainly be asking many questions, i've got hundreds already!! All the very best for next week - what day are you going in?

Seph - glad you've found something to combat the MS. I don't have that one yet (touch wood) but I have been coming home from work and napping every day. DH keeps laughing at me but I just tell him i'm very busy growing a baby at the moment so to shut up!

mitf - although i'm only just in here myself, welcome!!! It's an amazing feeling isn't it to be able to post in here. I'm totally with you - I spent so long thinking about getting pregnant, now that I am i'm not quite sure what to do. I have been pestering a friend who has a baby about what I can and cannot eat. Seems the easiest thing is to remember lunch every day...!

Smithy - I took a peek at your nursery photos - they look great! You must have had loads of fun putting it all together!!

Hoping some of you can answer a question for me - I had two embies transferred, and until the scan next week I won't know if I have one or two on board. Does the fact that I had no spotting or bleeding mean that both stuck? I'm not quite sure how it works if one sticks and the other doesn't, and am wondering if it would like a mini period or something??? What have other people experienced?

Hope everyone is well. I'm searcing for rental properties as we've just found out DH won a new position back in Canberra, which is where we're from. Looks like we'll be packing up a little earlier than planned...!

HI lise...with regards the two versus one thing you may get a small bleed...you may not. we conceived twins and had two embryos which could be seen at the 6 week scan but one didnt develop....it has simply reabsorbed over time and couldnt be seen at the last scan a week ago....no bleeding for us.

Hi everyone else....i am very bad at personals and keeping up with posting but try to read every day and keep up with whats happening.

A question for everyone: Swine flu vaccine....I am so in two minds about this. My ob says yes, part of me says no but part of me is worried what if I get swine flue and risk the baby.....sooo confused. i heard today of one local hospital where four women have had either late miscarriage (2 cases) or still birth (2 cases) all within a couple of days of being vaccinated...so now my head is even more confused....arrrrrgggh it is so hard not knowing what is the right thing to do!

Just a quick answer to Lise. I had two transferred. I had absolutely no bleeding at all. Got to scan at seven weeks and there was only one emby and heartbeat. The other had reabsorbed. They said it happens all the time. I was positive it would be twins due to the lack of bleeding and had got myself all prepared for 'double trouble'! :( Oh well...

Mel - my ob said 'um, maybe/maybe not' to the swine flu vaccine.
My GP said that as a health professional she was oblidged to recommend it, but she felt that if she were pregnant, she wouldn't be keen on having it. She did say that if it were coming into winter and there were lots of recorded cases, then she might change her view, but she said not to worry about it. So I took her advice. No more jabs for me :lol:

Mel - the swine flu injection is a HUGE dilemma. Since Im so close to having my baby, I didnt bother but I too had doubts about it anyway. I didnt want anything "foreign" in my body that could do harm to my baby. I think maybe do some more research and try to ask other pregnant women to see what they have done.

Greenslw - try not to over do it. Listen to what your body is saying!!! As for your manager...grrrr! My boss said the same thing to one of the girls in my office too and she thought well if I was RICH then of course Id stay home with the baby but unfortunately we arent that lucky and with the financial committments we all have we dont have that "luxury" of being stay at home mums! I wish I could stay at home for 12 months even longer with my baby but unfortunately cant afford it. Some people are just so IGNORANT!!!

Grub - glad work did something nice for you and the voucher for a spa treatment sounds FANTASTIC, enjoy it :D

Kelly - thanks for the well wishes and tip about bf. My boobs are so HUGE as it is so I am really worried as to how Im going to go once my milk comes in. Have heard breast care is VERY important especially when they are a bit larger :redface: Hope all is going well and you are enjoying every moment with your princess Tara. xx

AFM, have just been chilling out the last few days. Had a g/f come over yesterday for lunch which was really nice. It was so weird saying goodbye to her and her saying when I see you next, you'll be a MUM! Even my mum was all emotional on Wednesday when she was leaving as I wont be seeing her until next Wednesday after the baby is born. I just still cant get my head around it even can my DP. I dont think it will REALLY hit me until I am at hospital in a gown waiting to be wheeled away to theatre! DP and I will do last minute things this weekend, then on Monday we are both booked in at the hairdressers then Tuesday which is Melbourne Cup day will try to sit back and relax before the big day on Wednesday!!! Am booked in to get my legs waxed and have a full pedicure tomorrow so looking forward to that. My feet are absolutely DISGUSTING!!! We are having major trouble finding a boys name we like and we only have 5 more days, its stressing us both out!

Thanks for the advice re one or two embies sticking ladies, I guess i'd better tone my expectations down so if it's one we're not disappointed. I have to admit I was getting my hopes up, but still, after all we've been through i'm more than thankful for one baby :D

It was DH b'day yesterday so had some people around last night - he has now gone to work today and i'm left to clean up joy! Scan Wednesday and appt Fri so looking forward to that this week.

Hi to everyone else hope your weekend is going great.

DF is away for the weekend and DSS and I are being slack, pizza for tea last night and pan cakes tonight! feeling like it is now really the weekend.

Work was steamy today, no aircon in a north facing building my poor students I let them out at 3pm. I hope next week it's cooler as I'm taping my lectures for assessment at tafe :pray: it all goes ok. I know I can do it but it's all pressure you know.

My belly is huge, now bigger than my boobs. I love it but it seams to be growing daily. I had to pull my fav hippi skirt up to my boobs to fit over my belly. glad I'm at home and not out in public.

Next week is much more cruzy for me. Thank goodness, monday off tuesday tafe and Melb Cup lunch Thursday OB appointment Friday lazy day at work! much happier with my diary this week.

greenslw - that sounds like a pretty good week! and i'm only an occasionaly harry high pants (lol smithy). i prefer the roll-down under my belly.

good on you for cleaning bella! i can't do much these days... but enough to keep the house tidy however the effort requires a good 2 - 3 hr sleep! lol.

lise - i had such a nasty flu this year that they thought i had swine flu at about 20 weeks and was put on tamiflu. they never tested me tho so not sure i actually had it or not. I've chosen not to go the vaccine cos i'm so close to giving birth and we are out of the big peak season for now. after the bub is born i might get it, however, I just don't feel comfortable getting it while preg. I'm sure its safe and all but just not for me. hope that helps.

afm - mum is here and i'm geting spoilt - slow cooked lamb shanks with veg! yummo! lol. went and got a quilt set, mobile, sheets etc all matching today, it's going to look super cute! so had a lovely day. going to finish it off with a movie :) it's nice to have company but i am still missing DH so much! oooh better go. i'm checking in when i can.

Grub, that is my problem with the Swine Flu vaccine. Noone is actually being tested to confirm they actually have swine flu and not just seasonal flu! Since the symptoms for Swine flu are almost exactly the same as seasonal flu and noone is actually being tested, how can we definitely say what number of people actually have or have had Swine Flu? So it is hard to say if it is a pandemic or not. So I am not going to rush out and get what seems to be a dodgy vaccine when I am not completely sure I need it!! Especially when pregnant!!! I read somewhere that there is a chance that the average person has naturally developed immunity to Swine Flu through everyday contact and getting a vaccine would be unnecessary. I just hope that my contact with hundreds of kids when teaching (and their parents on parents evening) in the early days of Swine Flu has given me some immunity already. We are entering the winter flu season so the government were pushing the vaccine for pregnant women but seem to have calmed down now. Weird?? Alot of National Health Service staff came out and said they were refusing to have it when they were told they had to as they didn't trust it. So it seems in Australia and in the UK health professionals are not keen.

AFM - I had a follow-up BT this morning, so the clinic could check my levels. My HCG is up to 8,689! Still don't really have any major symptoms besides feeling a little tired and occasional tender boobs.

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well.

Wanted to put my two bobs worth in on the whole swine flu vac. I asked my gp and he was against it. My feeling was that if the vac is not safe for my 3 year old ( as they are only giving it to children over 10) how is it safe to expose it to my unborn child. No way, will discuss it with ob next week but
I am anti vac.

AFM doing about the same some good days some not so great. Now adding three times a day pannadol to the drug list to keep pain to a minimum. Discussing delivery next week at ob and asking for a few days of work, my boss is being a pain. Gotta go Campbell has just woken up.
