Hi everyone and thanks for all your good wishes!
We came home yesterday and are doing really well. Celeste is a dream baby, settling and sleeping so well but not feeding from me :( We are doing the expressing thing and trying her on the breast each time hoping one day she will get the hang of it.
I have had a tough time of things emotionally since the birth due to the traumatic way it turned out (We could have lost her) but I am getting on top of things now and loving being a mum! DH is great too and wants to help with everything. Physically I am doing great and have even been for a 3km walk last night and tonight! My scar is pretty crooked due to the speed the Doc went in but I dont care! We have our long awaited little girl safe and healthy!!!!!
I will try loading some pics soon when I get a chance.
Hope everyone here is doing well, sorry for no personals as it has been a week and a bit to catch up on.
Enjoy your bellies everyone, the wait will soon be over and you will be mums too! (I highly recomend it!)

Welcome home Sazz...and welcome to the world little Celeste!
Sazz...you sound wonderful, despite everything you've been through...like a mummy in love!!! So sorry to hear what a harrowing experience it was...you poor thing! But like you say, Celeste is here and that's just such wonderful news!
So thrilled to hear little Celeste is doing so well...hang in there with the feeding, I'm sure it will all work out! It really is a 'dance' between mum and baby and it does take a while to get the steps right...I had to express with Felix for a few days, but we then both got the hang of it...I was just figuring out this afternoon that we have done over 1200 feeds now!!!
Anyway...can't wait to see some pictures of your little girl!
Take care chickie!

Welcome back Sazz, and thanks for dropping in even though i'm sure you are very busy.
Sorry to hear that things went a bit crazy at the end, but thankfully you are both healthy and home now. Hope you get a chance to work through it all later. Looking forward to photos!
Pretty sure bugsy is sitting upright with his head just below my ribs and his arms and legs flailing all over the place. Ob said 'you have a really wriggly baby' and smiled at me. No kidding! Didn't need a qualified Ob to tell me that! I guess that's a downside of being tall - he has plenty of room to wriggle around in! But I'm really lucky still, things are going fine, although the days really take it out of me. I had hoped to slowly reduce my hours...but who was i kidding?!
Having capsule vs car-seat dilemmas at the moment, but we bought a cot from Ikea, so we are making progress!
Hope you all have a great weekend :hello:
-
Welcome back Sazz and Celeste. I'm sure it won't be too long before you have the feeding under control. You sure do sound like 1 very happy mummy :D I have to say its the best job in the world(even with the bad days). Try not to worry about the scar though. It will fade in time. Mine has started to fade a bit already.
Monnie wow over 1200 feeds now. I've never really thought of working that out.Maybe I will in the future
Is Felix sleeping better now?
Lenny Try and slow down a bit hun. These last weeks are so important so try and rest as much as you can ;)
As far as the capsule v's carseat that really is a personal choice. We opted for the reversable carseat as we only had to purchase the seat. I did consider hiring a capsule but decided against it as its money we didn't really need to spend and I didn't want to use something that someone else had already used and may have been a smoker(no offence intended to any smokers, just personal choice) or could have been involved in an accident and didn't tell the hire company iykwim?
Anyway good luck with your decision and know that Toys R Us and places like Target and K Mart etc sell seats and the good quality ones too.Ours is a Safe and Sound brand which we bought from Target.
Hi to everyone. Hope you are all having a great Australia Day weekend :D
-
Yep...Felix is sleeping better now...YAYAYAYAYAY!!!
Taking him off the Nurofen seemed to help as well as giving him some Dimetapp to dry up his mucousy throat...poor little thing...he's so used to having syringes in his mouth that he can almost self-administer!!!
I figured out the 1200 feeds at 1am yesterday morning...strange ways to amuse yourself whilst feeding!!!
We bought an Ikea cot too! Really happy with it! We did the reversible car seat as well. I can certainly see the advantages of a capsule but like Mako, we thought it was one of those things that we could probably go without!
I don't think I told you guys...but on Felix's first trip in the car (leaving hospital), I sat in the back with him (partly because the car was packed with stuff as we were moving straight to my Mum and Dad's due to the renovations). Anyway...I said to DH, "Felix really doesn't look very comfortable"...he was all crouched over with his head hanging down and his little chin bobbing on his chest.
It was only a day later that we realised that we forgot to recline the baby seat!!! Oopsy!!!
And...the strange thing is...we took the seat to have the fit safety checked before he was born and they didn't even notice that!!!
Lenny...a wriggler, hey? Know what they are like!!! All the best with trying to reduce your working hours! It's lovely if you can get a bit of time off before baby arrives...
Anyway...hope all is going well for everyone...
Ltl Panda...you doing okay?
Best wishes to all...
-
Monnie How lucky was it that you sat in the back with Felix. I'm sure you aren't they only parents who for got to recline the seat.
I'm pleased Felix is better now and yeh we sure do think about the strangest things while we are feeding our bubs all hours of the day and night lol.
Does anyone know when Lttl Panda is due to have her bub? I know its not too far away but she hasn't been here for a while and I'm hoping everything is ok.

Hi everyone, happy Aussie Day...not that i've been very patriotic myself. A simple movie, grocery shopping and home to read and relax - not exactly too Aussie, but that's cool!
Sazz, so great to hear from you. You sound so all together, walking 3km's already, post caesar, home and expressing, it all seems too much for 1 person, but nup, you're on to it, or at least come across that way. Congrat's and big hugs to little Celeste (and DH too of course!)
We've gone the reversible car seat too, rather than hiring a capsule for now (though SIL swears by the hiring), the $$$'s seem to add up so quickly don't they! But it is a personal needs thing i think. We're picking it up tomorrow when we go and collect the pram (were meant to go today but the memory things kinda deteriorated for both DH and I, so we forgot when we were in town and are too lazy to drive back now).
I think Ltl Panda is due in 2 weeks?? She can't be much more than that as i'm only a few wks behind her...hope all's good there, maybe she'll have a real little Aussie Day bubba, who knows!
One of my close mates is having an emby transfer today and i've told her if it implants and leads to a birth, her bub will be permanently named Ozzi or skip, if you could all send good vibes it would be much appreciated, she's been on such a long IVF journey and this time she's come out with so many viable eggs we're all just hoping and praying for her that one takes!
Anyway, all's good here, bub's moving around alot despite the supposed lack of space by this stage (yeah, whatever!) and the midwife said she's started to engage which is exciting. I start back at work on tues, but have decided to bring mat. leave forward and finish up earlier than initially planned (in 2-3 weeks)...they'll get over it, i figure everyone's replacable and given i'm eager to rush through the month of Feb and meet bubs, my mind isn't going to be focused on work at all is it! LOL
Hope you're all well.

Hi everyone.
Sazz - I hope all is well with all of you. Sounds very traumatic from the sounds of things.
Nothing much to report from here except it looks like I might be getting SPD - the pain started in my pubic region last night whenever I moved so didn't get a lot of sleep. I'm much better off sitting or walking slowly so I'll just have to keep upright as much as possible. Hoping it will go away but from what I've read about it, it tends to stay til after delivery (if that's what it is, could be jumping the gun a bit).
-
Kimbe - sending positive vibes to your gf. We all know what a roller coaster ride this is. Good on you for finishing up early - i'm going to try really hard to do 7 hour days for the next few weeks and see how it goes.
Monnie - thanks for that little car seat story - I guess babies are quite hardy little things and i'm sure that you weren't the first or last to make that little mistake.
-
Sazz - welcome back, so glad your enjoying mummyhood!
You poor thing sounds like you really went through the wringer but thank god your little Celeste is ok.
It took Jenna a little while to get the hang of the boob as well so try & hang in there.
I eventually started using a nipple shield & the difference was amazing, bub actually had something big to grab onto which made it easier for her & I ended up using it the whole way through.
Can't wait to see pics.
Lenny - I know exactely what you mean about wriggly bub, Jenna was constantly moving in my tum & guess what she is still the same now so get prepared for a wriggly bubby on the outside as well. (Jenna never sits still)
Hi to everyone else, hope you are all well & enjoying the long weekend.
Jo - 28 (treated endo)
Dh - 34

Hi all
Hope you and family are doing well Sazz. Sounds like you're loving it no matter! which is great.
How cute is bugsy? He's just sitting there doing his thing. It's cool that he's got so much room still (and yours too from the sound of things Kimbe). Poor Jelly hasn't been able to change positions for almost 2 weeks now... i have a very short waist, which i think is why my belly sticks out so much, and doesn't leave much room for Jels. He's still kicking and punching, but he's stuck on the left now.
What's SPD Satya? Doesn't sound too good...
Hope little Felix, Sage and Jenna are all doing well also.
-
Hi
Well we survived my 1st day back at work
Sage stayed with my MIL for a few hours this morning and he was a good little boy apparently(she wouldn't tell me otherwise ;))
We are doing ok other than that although Sage has decided to catnap during the past few days ie 5 mins here and 10 mins there GRRRR. He also refuses to go to sleep unless he's being cuddled which can be very tiring for me but I'm sure its just a phase and it will soon pass I hope. He's feeding quite well too which is good even with very sore nips. They just aren't getting better for some reason. Oh well we'll just feep doing what we are doing.
Satya Poor you with the pain already. I hope it gets better for you chickie.
Kimbe Wow you haven't got too long to go now. Less than 5 weeks :D
Marcellus I hope Jelly is doing ok even if he's a bit stuck atm. Hope you are doing ok too.
Monnie How's little Felix going? Are you still enjoying being back at work?
Jo How cute is Jenna smiling. Its great when they start to do all these little things. Sage is rolling from back to front now aswell as front to back. He's just getting so clever. I was really lucky the other day. I changed him on the lounge and went to get up to put his nappy in the bin and as I stood up and turned around he rolled over. I was so glad that I was still next to him cause I think I would have freaked if he did it when I was away from him. So needless to say we don't leave him on the lounge by himself anymore ;)
Hi to everyone. I hope you are all staying as cool as possible as its so hot today.
Anyone heard from Ltl Panda or Ktgirl lately?
Take care.

Hi all - here comes a self absorbed post...
We saw our little guy yesterday...and he's definintely a guy! He has his head down - but way over to the right hand side, and it's his big bum that's sticking out under my ribs - not his head. So all this time i've been patting his bum! And his arms and legs are all over the place! The sonographer said he looked truly uncomfortable...but the head was close enough to the right place, and that's all good. He weighs 2160gms which is a teeny tiny bit above average, but completely within normal. He predicted a birth weight (full term) of between 3.5 & 4 kgs. And all the measurements were really good, and average and normal - which is what we wanted to hear.
In a sad way there is no sign that he ever shared 'a room' with a sibling, but i guess that's a good thing for his own health.
He is a real baby now, sucking all the time and breathing too. Quite cool. No picture though - he's too big now to fit on the screen.
Mako - oww, work. What a bummer! At least Sage is in good hands.
DJTTC - no! I ordered a quiet baby! I'm sure i ordered one for you too! What's going on here!
Marcellus - I think my genes are finally working in my favour...I guess I can finally appreciate my body - and thank my mum!
I hope Ltl Panda is going OK - but sounds like another 2008 LTTTC baby might be on it's way! Kimbe - you're next hun!
-
Hi ladies, sorry its going to be a self indulgent post....im getting flogged at work, end of month and mergers.....cant wait till I stop...13 weeks to go :D
You who have popped all sound good and I hope everyone else is still growing strong:bellygrowing:
Had first hospital appointment yesterday, all is good had a very good doc and an obs in training....so was pleasantly surprised to have such a thorough check up. Was shocked at the prospect of being 69kg that means i have put on a kg a week in the last month, and im still growing oh my
Work is sending me to Brisbane next week....seems strange with so little time left, but 3 days in a nice hotel will no doubt make up for some of it.
Keep up those belly rubs :bellyrubs: and big hello to everyone xx
-
Hi lovelies!
Bummer about being back at work Mako, hope you arent too tired?
Lismith, enjoy your work trip if you can... wont get too many more expense paid motel stays for a while I'd say! Take it easy if you can.
Lenny, your bubs sounds like our Celeste. I patted her bum for months and she was almost always on the right side too. It is strange to see him on the screen now, huh, when he doesnt fit all in the one picture anymore. I was a little dissapointed at our 36wk scan for that reason. I mean it is good that he is big now but sad that you couldnt get a good look KWIM?
Marcellus, you sound like you are getting a bit uncomfortable? I was the same, I'm 165cm tall and not much of a waist. Everyone kept telling me I was HUGE! Like I didnt know! Must put up some pics of me at due date... shockers lol
Me, went back to hospital on Tuesday for 24hours to get this feeding caper sorted out. It was truely horrible. I felt like the meanest mum in the world. There was Celeste, going all red and blue from crying and there was me with tears rolling down my cheeks. Even the midwife (who took our class and attended the c section) was almost in tears. But we succeeded! Ok, she only goes on the right boob but better than no boobs!!! I had midwife visit yesterday am and CAFS nurse visit yesterday pm so have been a bit busy of late! Going great now... havent cried all day! lol.
We have the only girl born to our antenatal class so far with 4 boys born and 5 more due to pop soon. Wonder if she will have playmates? Funny cause all the old wives tales were saying Celeste would be a boy but we thought otherwise.
Keep growing those bellies girls!
-
Hi everyone...am i dreaming or was the sight down for a while?? I didn't realise how much i rely on visiting and reading the posts until i went to log on yesterday and my internet just kept rejecting the site address...anyway, phew, am back on now.
You all sound good.
Glad the boob feeds are happening for Celeste now Sazz, you have really been tested in these first few weeks haven't you!
Lenny, I am soooooo jealous you know all that info about your bub from the recent scan, all i got was head circumfrence at the time, nothing else! I had no idea i could even ask those things, i mean, i'd love to know prospective weight etc, it might at least help with the clothes shopping. But i must admit, we were lucky enough to get another 3D image, though just of bubs face!
Lis, glad 1st hospital appoint went well for you, it makes it that much more real again doesn't it! And i love the count down till you finish work, i hope it goes quickly for you. I have 11 days (not counting weekends in between) left at work though some colleagues are predicting i'll be a mum before the maternity leave kicks in...i'd love for that to happen, but i'm sure it's just their excitment with the whole pregnancy too!
Well, i am now having the swelling, my feet/toes have been going up and down, and my hands haven't been able to hold a fist without some pain in the nuckles for a week now, and today, i have lost my ankles for the first time. Sadly, when i pointed this fact out to DH he kindly informed me that my face and neck are slightly swollen today too. Hmmm, I'm not liking it, but i accept that it is all part of this fun loving journey...after all, wont bubs go through those "cute" chubby, rolly polly stages when i wont be able to see her ankles either LOL.
Man i can't wait to hold her!!!!!
Anyway, enough of me, hugs to all, hope your coping with the weather extremes, work demands and physical attacks coming from your insides!
-
Sazz Poor you and Celeste having to go back to hospital. I'm pleased you have the feeding up and running now. It sure can be very difficult hey. Sage and I still have issues and we can't seem to get them sorted out. We just go with it and endure the pain and the tears(from me and Sage) at EVERY feed :( But it is worth it as I really do love BFing him.
Kimbe I hear you on the cankles hun. I had them when I was pregnant too. Not too long left at work now. How exciting!!! Oh yeh don't rely too much on the scan measurments as they told me Sage would be atleast 8lb born and he was 5lb 15oz (admitedly he was early but those results were at 32 weeks) and he dropped weight
Hi to everyone else. I'd better go as the little man is hungry and he's screaming ;)
-
Hi all
marcellus - SPD is symphysis pelvic disorder. I think someone on another thread said some people call it unstable pelvis. I'm not sure it's it as it's gone away for now but I reckon it will come back again.
Lenny - congrats on finding out it's a boy. Now you can confidently go out and buy blue.
sazz - glad you have the BF thing sorted out now.
I think I felt my first kick yesterday morning. It was like a tap from inside and it happened whilst lying in bed trying to get back to sleep. I'm not sleeping well, having to get up 2 or 3 times a night to wee and then can't get back to sleep for ages. No pain now so all's good with that, but I had really nasty indigestion last night and I was burping constantly throughout it. It happened just as I went to bed, I felt so bad and almost threw up, not a nice experience at all.
