BW - I've got an appointment with Leah tomorrow, finally. I haven't been since April. I hope you're feeling better.
BeiBei - congratulations on 8 weeks!!! yay!!! Another milestone! I'm glad you're feeling more positive about things - we're all thinking of you and here for you. Take care of yourself. I hope your m/s is still there - I think it's got to be a good sign. My Ob always seemed very pleased that I was feeling sick in the earlier weeks.
Mako - Congrats on 22 weeks - how exciting!! I'm almost 20 weeks and very excited about that. My DH can already feel our little bean sometimes. I can feel him/her quite a bit and every now and then DH feels it from the outside too. I'm sure your DH will feel him soon!! So glad to hear your Nan is ok and the op went well, that's great news. Very jealous of your shopping spree - it sounds like you're very organised! We really need to start... we have to move house next week so once we're in and settled we'll be going shopping!! Woo hoo!!
Monnie - how exciting that you might be holding your little baby in your arms in 3 weeks!!! It must be quite a surreal thought... I'm very excited for you and look forward to seeing photos of your little one. You sound like you've got a bit to do - shopping and work - good luck with it all. And what a bummer about the reno's not being done yet. As you say though - what can you do!!! It will all work out in the end.
Ltl Panda - hello! That's great news that your spotting has stopped. And I can't believe you're already getting comments on your belly - you might find that it goes back down for a bit before popping back out, that's what mine did. When I tell people I'm pregnant they say oh, really, you don't look it! I'm just starting to pop this week though, well I feel that I am anyway! It is so exciting being pregnant isn't it?!
Sazzafrazz - glad to hear you're feeling so good. Lucky you!!
Keen, hi! :)
Well I'm really tired today, I had a really bad nights sleep, well I couldn't get to sleep. I had a ripper headache yesterday afternoon and then felt sick in the tummy as well... I've never had headaches like the ones I've had since being pregnant, they're terrible. I'm not sure if it's from my computer at work. Did you know that being pregnant affects your eyesight?? I read it in what to expect when you're expecting - something to do with the extra fluid in your body??? Anyway, I'm still waiting for that 2nd trimester energy boost - I still feel tired most of the time and headaches are a common problem... BUT, regardless of all that - I am SO happy to be pregnant - and to be hitting the 1/2 way mark on Monday!!!! I'm feeling my little one so much now, most evenings when I lay down and in the mornings in bed - it's so incredible, I love it!! What an amazing journey....
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Sam x
-
Yay for the appointment, Sammi! Leah seemed so much more back to her normal self last night, I'm going to miss her while she's away. I think when she's back I'll be just starting to go less often - while I won't miss the travel, I will miss the sessions! Leah worked her magic on me, and I'm feeling so much better now, even slept better last night! Much less bloated, morning sickness subsided a little... the only thing that's worse is the congestion! Ever since I got pregnant my nose has been so stuffy and I've had a constant post-nasal drip... really goes well with the ms! Does anyone know if there's anything I can take/do?
Monnie - 3 weeks seems so soon! Eep!
I'm spending the day with a friend who's an OB today, so I'm sure I'll have all the answers by this afternoon! :D Although, I'm pretty sure she won't want to talk shop all day!
BW
-
Hey guys,
Sammi...Wow...1/2 way on Monday...how fantastic is that!!! So thrilled for you...I think I had a lot of headaches around that time too...thankfully they subsided after a little bit...and my energy boost probably hit around 23 weeks or so...good luck on the move!!!
How wonderful that you can feel the baby moving...
I was getting so excited last night about our baby coming along so soon...and it was like the baby was equally excited...kicking and squirming away...it's such a special time, lying in bed and just feeling your baby move...I love it!
Sazz...hope you cold clears up really soon...yay for not feeling so tired...
Ltl Panda...yay for the bump! How exciting! And yeah...I think there is alot of stretching happening at around that time...everything getting ready for your baby to flourish!!!
BeiBei...so glad to hear you are doing a bit better...good on you...I realise it must be so hard, but you're a great inspiration in your approach! You go girl!!! I love what Ellie said in another post to you...95 still sounds like an A+...what a great way to put it!
Mako...how you doing, chickie? You inspired me and I went to Toys R Us yesterday and bought some nappies, wondersuits and a change table mat...we probably can't get anything else at the moment (as we don't have the room)...but I'm certainly feeling a little more organised...thanks for the inspiration!
Keen...hope you are doing fantastically, chickie?
BW...have a great day with your friend...glad to hear that you are feeling better too..you are sounding great! Sorry about the nasal drip though!!! I think I had the same thing...especially in the morning...hopefully it will move on quickly!
Anyway...so hoping I haven't missed anyone...
Take care all...
Oh...some exciting news...my Mum rang and told me my cousin (who is probably now in her 40's and was unable to have kids...and had huge hassles with adopting), has just been approved to adopt a little Phillipino boy...he's 3...they are going to the Phillipines in October to adopt him...HOW WONDERFUL!!!! They have been through so much...and this is just the absolute best news ever!!!
Don't you love it when people who have had to go through so much, finally get the fairytale ending...I LOVE IT!!!
-
Monnie Thats fantastic news about your cousin. Its such a tough journey going down the adoption path. Friends of ours wanted to adopt as she is unable to have children and they went through the whole process only to be told that her dp is too old. He was only 42 at the time. It was so frustrating for them as they would make great parents and they have so much love they could share with a child. They are really well off aswell but that makes no difference unfortunatley.
Good on you for buying some baby things yesterday. I also bought some nappies this week too.
BW Its great that you are feeling a bit better today. I hope you have a great day out with your friend.
Sammi Well done for being half way hun. Its great feeling bub move around isn't it? I love it and really can't wait for dh to be able to feel him too. Maybe it will happen when dh comes home from his holiday in 2 weeks?
Sazz Sorry that you are feeling a bit yuk atm. I hope your cold clears up real soon.
Bei Bei I too liked what Ellie said in your other thread about the A+. I think thats a great way to look at it all. And congrats on getting to 8 weeks. Thats a milestone in itself.
Keen How are you and those sweet twins doing hun? I hope all is well with you all.
Ltlpanda The cramps and everything you may be feeling atm is completly normal hun. I remember freaking out alot when this was happening to me too but all is ok.
As for me I'm doing really well. I am getting ALOT of headaches lately but honestly when I think about it I've had many more since becoming pregnant. I did ask about these at an ob appoint a while ago and she said its from the hormones going wild. I'm getting a little nervous about dh going o/s on Tuesday however I'm sure he'll be ok. Its just that where he's going is classed as Indonesian Waters and thats whats concerning me even though its actually 1/2 way between Fiji and Hawwaii so not really Indonesia at all. Anyway I'm sure he'll have a great time. I also have an Ob appointment on Wednesday(dh's birthday too) and I won't be able to talk to him about it until he gets back. I just hope all will be ok.
I hope you all have a great Friday. And I hope I haven't missed anyone.
-
Hey Mako,
My cousins would be in their early 40's, I'm sure...they were rejected first time around...and nearly gave up...in fact, I think they have done alot of advocacy work in assisting others to adopt...as the process was so difficult for them...
They also were weeks off having an Australian adoption fully verified a few years ago, and then the little boy's family changed their mind. It was so sad as from what I understood, the little boy had been living with them for 18 months or so...
Anyway...it's fantastic news! I'm SO thrilled for them...like your friends, they are an amazing couple with so much love to give...
Sorry to hear about the headaches...like Sammi, I had stacks of them too...from about 16-23 weeks, I think...haven't had hardly any since...so hopefully they move on for you too...
Hope your DH has a good trip away...sorry to hear that he won't be around for your birthday or Ob. appointment...I'm sure everything will be okay...and they he will be safe and sound...and home sooner than you know it!
-
Monnie, that is fantastic news for your cousin, great stuff, well deserve a family.
Mako, I am glad you are feeling good, bugger about the headaches.
Sammi Jane, 1/2 way is the best, that is amazing....good on you girl, you sound very happy.
Ohh BW I so know what you mean about congestion..... Ive had it since the transfer.
well feeling really tired, so so tired.
-
I've just had the best day! We ended up shopping for 6 hours and I'm exhausted now, though!
The exciting things - my friend is still absolutely determined, thrilled and excited to be on my birth support team! I'd asked her about 10 years ago when DH and I first got engaged and she'd really only just got started in studying medicine, and we talked about it again when the PCOS diagnosis came through and I picked her brain with all sorts of questions... and now that we are finally here I was terrified to ask if she still wanted to be there for me. She was my maid of honour when we got married, and it's just so special to know she'll be there at the birth as well. In fact, I cried in Big W when we talked about it all today!
Second exciting thing - I've bought my first maternity clothes! I started out looking for some loose non-maternity tops that would go a fair way through pregnancy, and found some gorgeous ones. Then we managed to stray into the maternity section of target... and I picked up a pair of black maternity jeans for less than $12! A couple more tops (one is a proper maternity top, the other isn't), and I'm certainly off to a good start along with the baggy jeans and jumpers and things that I already have.
:hello: too tired for personals... maybe later... have read all the updates, though.
BW
-
Fantastic stuff BW!!!
So happy for you regarding your friend...what a wonderful support!
I've got through most of my pregnancy with non-maternity clothes...just using a belly belt, belly tube and lots of empire lined tops!!! I was surprised how well they have worked out...as my belly is certainly not on the small side now!!!
I did buy some maternity pants from Target though...they are fantastic...were on special too!
-
Hi all,
I have been awol due to work & life in general just being so full on atm, it's crazy.
I have tried to catch up on everyone's news.
Sam - I'm so glad your scan went well, did you find out the sex of your bub?
Mako - hope your nan is recovering well, I too am extremely close to my nan & it's horrible when they are ill.
BeiBei - sorry I don't have any answers about the size for you but I have everything crossed that your bub will be ok which I'm sure he/she will be.
Like the other girls said being so early I don't think it has a huge bearing on things in the long run.
Panda - don't worry I was 'showing' at your early stage & I did think I was just bloated but when I went for my first scan at 7.5wks there was so much space around the bub that it was really just getting ready to make room.
Monnie - 3wks to go, how exciting!!!
Sorry for everyone else who is feeling horrible, it really does suck sometimes even though pg is something we have all wanted for such a looooooong time.
It's just a shame you have all the yucky stuff to go with it, & can someone please tell me - when will I start to glow!!!
So like I said things have been crazy but something exciting did happen I think.
Tuesday night in bed I felt this strange feeling but thought it might be wind, as I do get a lot of that lol.
Then Thursday night I felt it again twice & I think it was our little girl kicking, it felt a little stronger & both nights it was when I was lying on a certain side.
It was extremely exciting.

Ohhhhh DJTTC....that is exciting! I bet it is kicks!
One of the ways I can more likely 'guarantee' a kick, is if I lie on my side...
How wonderful for you!
-
Jo How exciting for you hun to be feeling your little princess kicking. I'm feeling my boy kick lots now and I love evry minute of it. I just can't wait until dh can feel him too. I find if I lay on my back I can feel him lots and we play little games with each other lol. I feel him in a spot and put my hand there and push in a little he'll kick in the same spot again and when I push somewhere else he'll move there and kick lol.
Monnie Have you found the belly belt useful? I have been looking at getting one for a few weeks now but am a little unsure. I went looking at mat jeans yesterday and they were so ugly and very expensive $110. I was also looking at the ones from target but they only had one style there and I really didn't like them much.
I'm feeling rather uncomfortable today. I think bub has pushed everything up under my right ribs and my indigestion is really bad too. Thank goodness for rennie.
I hope you are all having a great weekend.
-
Hey Mako
I've found the belly belt brilliant!!!
I've been able to remain in my pre-pregnancy jeans as a result...
Admittedly, my pre-pregnancy jeans have some stretch in them...but I just use the small belly belt and just make sure I wear a skirt or belly tube over my zip (so you can't see the gape!!!)
One thing to keep in mine though is how you are carrying...I'm very much in front...so I think that's part of the reason I've been able to keep using my pre-pregnancy jeans...
Anyway...best buy of my pregnancy, I think!!! I'd offer you mine...but I need it for a few more weeks yet...you may be able to get them on e-bay...otherwise I got mine at Target for about $30
Know what you mean about being uncomfortable...except mine's at the other end...baby is using my bladder as a trampoline!!!
Take care!
-
Mako - I was wearing the belly belt but still found my jeans uncomfortable & couldn't find anything in target, pumpkin patch as they were all ugly, uncomfortable & bunched up at the sides.
Then I found a shop called mother & me & the jeans I found are soooooooooooo comfortable (on the tag it says mu. mu maternity), the elastic is sewed at the back so you can't tell they're maternity jeans & as you get bigger you just unpick to the next bit of cotton, they are fantastic & I wish I had bought another pair.
They also had some fantastic comfy tops as well.
The jeans were $80 but well worth the money, hope you can find something soon.

Today I find myself having to focus on my words of the other day...
Today I am pregnant, and everything is ok. Today I have reached 8 weeks and 4 days, and that's the furthest I've ever been, and it is amazing.
Last night I had red bleeding. I freaked. DH called the clinic and spoke to the doctor on call, and it appears today I need to try to arrange to get in for another scan with my FS as a matter of urgency. I'm not looking forward to calling the clinic myself.
When I was at acupuncture on Thursday night, I was given a moxa stick and shown which points on my big toes to use it on to help reduce uterine bleeding. I did that last night, and everything has come back to brown spotting. I'd saturated the liner I was wearing yesterday, changed to a pad and nothing has made it through to the pad at all, even over night. There's been no cramping, which is some relief. But I've also noticed a significant reduction in my morning sickness over the last two days. It could just be the fact that I'm now eating normally again and can manage a mug of warm milk before bed which always saw me have a better morning before.
The thing that is worrying me most... I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow for the start of term 3 - and I'm really not sure I should.
Sorry for no personals - feeling very self-absorbed and scared right now. Focussing on trying to keep myself calm.
BW
-
Oh BW...so sorry to hear about your last couple of days...you poor thing!
Like you said, as much as possible, focus on those fantastic words you said a few days ago...but I can only imagine how difficult that is...hang in there!
Good news about the brown spotting...hoping that it's a fantastic sign that your little caterpillar is growing beautifully...
Can you at least take tomorrow off? To me...sounds like you have more than a legitimate reason...and hopefully you can book in with your FS as soon as possible...
What is most important at the moment is you and your little one...
Thinking of you...praying for you...take care!
Monnie
-
BW - just checking in to see how you are feeling - have you had your scan??
xx sending you much love
-
hiya lou - BW had an update in her journal earlier - her Scan is tomorrow at 11.45 i think...
-
Scan is booked for 11:45 tomorrow. Work will be so impressed with me taking the first day of term off!
I'm just so relieved that they can fit me in.
Of course, I'm sure it's just that this child is into attention seeking behaviour already. Spotting has eased off heaps today, virtually stopped almost. Freak me out enough to get a scan booked, then behave nicely... Of course, it could just be the moxa sticks and cooking my toes, but it certainly gives me more confidence that things will be ok.
ETA: hehe, BG's just too fast for me!
BW
-
wasn't sure if you were online hun! am concerned about your state of mind, so being helpful where i can!
glad thing are looking a little better now - take care
BG takes herself back up the ladder to start painting again now so BW can answer her own messages....LOL
-
At this point in time, I'm feeling pretty ok. Being on BB helps - I've been reading a few articles and threads here and there, and they are helping me stay positive. I am sticking with one hour at a time, though... not getting too far ahead of myself.
Thank you to everyone for keeping an eye on me :grouphug: means a lot to me.
BW
-
BW Sorry to hear that you've had a rough couple of days. I'm wishing you all the very best for your scan tomorrow. I'm sending you lots of little "behave caterpillar vibes" lol.
Monnie and Jo thanks for your advice regarding the jeans and the belly belt. I too am carrying more to the front so maybe the belly belt will be the way to go.
Nothing more to report today except I'm still feeling rather uncomfortable. Will try and have an early night tonight I think. Hope you all had a good weekend.
-
Hi BW, I have just PMed you...take care hun...I agree with Monnie, take a day off...you and your baby are the top priority...
-
Hey BW, hope your scan goes well today.... take care hun
Jo, amazing thing that you are able to feel the little one....
nothing new girls, tomorrow I will be 9 weeks. Yay for me.....still having slight nausea here and there but all good.
-
hope everyone is doing brilliantly today...at least Sun is shining...
Just want to pop in to check how BW is going with the scan this morning...thinking of you....
I had a very relaxed weekend and m/s seems have no regularity at all, apart from morning, it could creep in mid afternoon, after dinner...not too severe but enough to keep my hand on my mouth all the time, the only thing seems ok to get down my throat is 'Mango Magic' boost drink....
how is everyone else doing?
-
Hey guys
BeiBei...glad to hear you had a relaxed weekend...well done! I used to find my m/s would start to creep up on me as soon as I got a bit hungry...
BW...hoping the scan goes fantastically...take care!
Ltl Panda...yayay on 9 weeks tomorrow...excellent!
Mako...hope you had a relaxing weekend and weren't too uncomfortable...
Jo, Sazz, Keen (hoping I haven't missed anyone)...hope things are going well...
I'm 36 weeks today...baby is really beginning to grow and grow and grow...getting me very used to waking up 3-4 times a night for toilet stops!!! Thankfully, during the day, if I can catch a 20 minute nap, I'm fine!!!
Big night tonight...my DH has is last (of 3) doctorate recitals (he's a musician)...normally I get incredibly nervous but as tonight's is 'jazz', it's a little mellower...it will be such an amazing relief when it's over!!!
Overall...feeling pretty good...off to get a haircut today...figure it's my last for a little bit! Ob. appointment on Friday so I imagine I'll find out then what's happening...
Have a great Monday, guys!
-
monnie, gees hun, 36 weeks.... so happy for you. Have fun tonight... hope it all goes well. I am already waking up at least twice through the night for the loo, cannot imagine in week 36....
.Beibei, yay for relaxing weekend, I was on the same boat... did nothing. I am glad you have m/s in a wacky way, just because its something you were so worried about (lack of symptoms)a few weeks ago.
Bw, looking forward to your details on the scan.
-
WOW, I've missed heaps, hopefully I don't miss anything...
BW - sounds like things have improved since your initial scare, I hope today goes well and all is fine with your little bub. We're all thinking of you and praying that you're ok. I saw Leah on Saturday, she seems really well now, but sounds like she went through a rough patch. I'm only going to go every 3 weeks or so now.
Jo - no, we're not going to find out the sex of our little one - we decided that we'd keep it as a surprise. So glad to hear you've felt your little girl kicking - isn't it the best?! I just love it!!
Mako - I hope little bubs moved and gave your ribs etc a break! I can't imagine how hard it must be when you're huge!!!
Monnie - how's the bladder going?! You must be finding it very uncomfortable - not long to go now!!! wow, 3 or 4 toilet stops a night?! wow... I'm getting up once or twice and finding that tiring - I've got a lot ahead of me! LOL. So excited for you though - 36 weeks!! Enjoy your hairdresser appointment. And have fun tonight!
BeiBei, glad to hear you had a relaxed weekend. m/s does that doesn't it - sneaks up on you!! I'm with Monnie - mine came on whenever I was hungry - which was always!! Eat or drink whatever gets you through it - I think that's all you can do.
Hi Ltl Panda, Keen, Sazz :) hope I haven't missed anyone...
I had a busy weekend. DH & I went for a lovely dinner on Saturday night for my b'day and then Sunday we had lunch and drinks with friends for my b'day. Birthday is tomorrow... I have an Ob appointment and will be having dinner with my family which will be nice. Exhausted today though, the weekends really tire me out. I'm feeling my little bub a lot these days, lots of kicks - I think we might start calling him/her Thumper. It's wonderful though, I love it and DH loves it too.
Hope all goes well BW.
Sam
-
So sorry BW for your loss of sweet little caterpillar...just such an awful thing to happen...I'm sure you are in many loving arms and I just want to let you know that I'm thinking of you...and hoping that you have all the support, love and care around you at this time...
and to everyone else...take care chickies!
-
Oh BW, I am SO sorry  Sending you lots of hugs...
-
BW I'm so sorry hun for you loss. Like I said in the other thread take care hun and know that we are here for you.
Sammi Happy birthday sweety. How did your ob appointment go?
Monnie I hope you had a fantastic night last night.
I'm really tired now as I've just got home from dropping dh off at Sydney airport. He has gone away for 10 days and I'm already counting lol.
I was soooo very happy last night as dh was able to feel our little boy kicking for the first time. It was such a special moment for us as I kept thinking that he'd have to wait until he came home next week. Dh couldn't wipe the smile off his face which was so sweet.
I have an Ob appointment tomorrow so I'll pop back after that.
Hi to Bei Bei, Jo, Keen, Panda and Sazz. I hope you are all ok.
-
Mako...that is so wonderful about your DH feeling the kicks...what a wonderful bon voyage present!
-
Bw - I am sorry for the loss of your little catterpiller, I really don't know what to say but you are in my thoughts.
Mako - I'm so glad that your dh was able to feel your little boy!
Isn't it soooooooooo exciting especially for them because they can't really relate to anything else with pg so this is great for them.
My dh felt out little girl on Sunday, it was fantastic.
Hi to everyone else!!!

That's so great Jo about your DH feeling his little girl's kicks...gorgeous!
My DH's jazz recital went really well last night...very proud of him...
One of the pieces he played, he wrote himself...he entitled it "it's coming!" which was about our little Ziggy arriving soon...
So lovely...and better still...it was one very cool piece...
-
Jo It sure is great that our dh's have felt our bubs kicks. It makes it all the more special for them too.
Monnie How lovely that your dh wrote a special song for the arrival of ziggy. That is so sweet hun. I have to ask "have you got your bags packed hun?"
My morning has been a disaster. I went to get my car out so I could go to my appointment and the stupid thing wouldn't start  so I came in and rang my MIL to borrow hers for an hour and that was fine. I just made my appointment on time and I forgot to take my list of questions with me and do you think I could remember anything that I wanted to ask. No, Not one single question and the ob also asked me to get some specimen jars from the girls out the front when I was leaving and guess what I forgot to get those too. GRRRRR at me so that means that I now have to go there again to pick them up before my next appointment.
On a brighter note I did get to hear my bubs heart beat today and my measurements are spot on too which I'm happy about.
I have just had the NRMA here and I have to get a new battery for my car so atleast its not anything major.
I hope you are all having a better Wednesday than me lol.
-
Moko.... great news on the OB appointment..... bugger having placenta brains though....heheheh.
Moonie, men can get so silly when they become dads. They talk to our bellies, rubb them, make songs.... just so silly.
-
Sorry to hear about your morning Mako...but sounds like hearing the heartbeat would have been wonderful!!!
Nah...still haven't packed my bags...to be honest, really feeling like I'm running out of energy at the moment...not good, considering what's lying ahead, hey?
Yeah Ltl Panda...my DH talks to the baby every day and asks it "so what are you going to do today?"...very cute!
Anyway...I'm off to have a nanna nap...
Then hopefully will get on to actually doing something!!!
-
Monnie I say you'd better start getting packed hun. You don't want to be running around at the last minute trying to get organised lol. I hope you're having a lovely nanna nap.
I'm trying to think about what I'm going to have for dinner lol. Its not fun when you don't have anyone else to cook for except yourself. Maybe I might go for the take away option. Its dh's birthday and he's away on his trip so I still might make that the excuse for takeaway lol.
-
Hey Mako
Yeah...I think I do need to get packing...I agree! Thanks for helping motivate me!!!
I was trying to remember whether it was yours or your DH's birthday today...happy birthday to the new dad-to-be!!! Yep...if I was you, I'd definitely get something a little naughty for dinner!!!
-
No probs Monnie on the motivation thing lol. Yeh I'm definately thinking about takeaway for dinner. Only problem is I can't decide between KFC or Turkish:dunno: I just wish I was o/s with dh for his birthday and doing what he's doing (fishing). I just wish I could call him but he doesn't have phone service there and there isn't any public phones there either. Oh well, they do say that absence makes the heart grow fonder don't they? I'll probably have to wait until he's back in Fiji next Wednesday night before I can talk to him again.
-
You poor thing Mako...it's horrible being away from DH, hey? My DH goes away from work every now and then and I can't stand it...
The good thing is that today is a day closer to him coming home...and then tomorrow is another day closer!!!
Hope you enjoyed your takeaway...we're having a roast tonight...thought I should try and be vaguely healthy and get some vegetables into me...haven't been eating alot of them later...although my current craving is apples...just can't get enough of them...sometimes I've eaten 2 in a row!!!
Anyway...hope the time passes quicky Mako...
