On_track...
He hee about your mum babe....I had no symptoms too babe. I am over 5 weeks now and only today did i notice my nipples are starting to change a little. The outside of the areola has a bit of a ring and my nipple is a bit red on the end.
The only other thing that has been a bit different in the last couple of days is that i could fall asleep standing up if that were possible. I have been getting really tired moments. Today i went back to bed after being up for a couple of hours and slept for another 3... Normally i would push through but right now...i am finding it hard to.
Oh, Not much appetite though...just have to force myself to eat more than two meals a day...totally wierdo for me. None of this started until the last couple of days though.
i am rambling now...sorry babe.

Hi all, I am sorry for no personals...but holding my book up right now to read seems like a lot of effort...been hit with a tidal tired wave in the last 2 days.
All is good...Sorry for TMI but bum is a bit troubling. I think the hormones are making this a bit more of an issue. Looks like this pg is going to be plane sailing liked we hoped. I have lost my appetite but we are all feeling good. Hubby is loving the extra bedtime sleep ins...he thinks he is pg too! LOL
Got to go love to you all.

Hi Ladies,

Thanks on all the advice re: listeria. I went to a GP yesterday. He didn't say much.... but kind of gave me the impression that perhaps I am frightening myself. He asked me what if I came across a piece of info that said early signs of HIV are what I am currently describing to him? I told him that is different because the chance of my being exposed to HIV is virtually zero whereas listeria is very high, considering what I fail to do in the past week...

Anyway, thanks BB73 for letting me know that listeria is very uncommon. Apparently I read in a website that there are only 150 cases in Australia per year. But won't you think because it can show no symptom, people who have it might not know the difference? Anyway, the Dr has offered to do testing for me. Gave me a container to fill my stuff in there (Sorry TMI). Don't know if I want to proceed or not.

Question for others - do you tell restaurants that you are pregnant when you order and ask about salad preparation etc. or do you just trust that they do things properly?

I hope everyone else is going well and that morning sickness is staying away.
Buliej, so sorry about your news. Did you get to see your baby on the scan prior or did you just learn that through the first scan at 8 weeks? Must be very heart breaking for you at present.

Just a quick hello,

I'm a newbie in this thread, just got my week 5 blood test this morning and hoping everything is fine with the little one. Whew, can't stop worrying as we have waited for this one for soooo long!!

Does anyone know what the hcg level should be at week 5?

Will try to write more later, have a healthy and enjoyable pg everyone!
Welcome Curlygirl. The levels can vary between person to person. Most important is how it increases. Mine jumped from 318 to 8910 in 7 days.

AFM- all going well, Nipples are starting to change, trying not to think too far ahead, 5wks 3 days now and thrilled we have past our first milestone. Hubby took me out to dinner yesterday and it was lovely...i feel so spoilt and loved.
Go to go. Love to all

Hi HM, Mine hasn't changed but except being more sensitive to touch. Yeah, welcome to the land of tiredness. It is 10 am and I am yawning already.

[Kahlan - I'm interested that you're going to your GP for care, isn't your FS an ob/gyn as well? I guess not because it sounds like you're looking for an ob/gyn?
AFM - 5 week BT today, results tomorrow, still no symptoms yet My Mum asked how I knew I was pregnant if I didn't have any symptoms, WHAT THE? Maybe the multiple stab wounds in my veins have yielded some useful information ????
Hi On trak, my FS does not do delivery and as I have private health insurance I will need a OB which my GP refer to an appropriate person. However, my GP is probably more accessible and she is pretty good too. I go to her for women related things. So I thought of having shared care, between her and the OB she is referring me too. I will see how it goes. If it doesn't work out I will book myself in to see my FS instead.

Sorry if I missed anyone else. Got to run. Got such a busy week ahead. Don't think I will be around much.

HI ladies,

I have been missing in action from the site after being unable to access this forum for some time - don't know why!!

It's great to see so many pregnant peeps after TTC. There are a few now expecting twins which is exciting. I can't believe Mon: congratulations, what a surprise it must have been for everyone!

AFM: I have been a bit unwell, throwing my guts up and placed in hospital briefly. All is ok now thankfully and I can finally eat properly. We are also in the middle of moving to a larger place to accomodate the six of us (including our two burmese cats) and are doing so this weekend. I have my 19wk ultrasound on Thursday and will be finding out the sex of the babies. Will be good to know they are okay after being sick last week. I am growing bigger each day and today was told I definitely look pregnant.

Shannon: Wishing you and DH all the best for Friday, I am nervous about giving birth to twins, but you seem really focused and ready, take care

Kahlan - we had a normal (good) scan at 6+ weeks - heartbeat, everything looked good. The only reason I had another scan yesterday is that I had a bad 15 hours of gastro and got nervous and my OB's midwife offered to do a scan if I came in. We both expected to laugh at me for being a nervous first time preg woman...that's not what happened. I'll never know exactly when it happened - only that it was at least a week before yesterday's scan (they could tell by the size when it stopped growing).

Thank you so much everyone - it's amazing how words from people you don't even know but have gone through a difficult process of getting pregnant helps.

Hi All,

Am finding this no internet access a nightmare!! I can't catch up with you all as I'd like to.

Just a quick post from me.

We had another scan on Mon and we saw 2 little heartbeats...I was overwhelmed and DH was just beyond words too. What an amazing miracle.

My pain has been increasing over the last 2 days. FS said my ovaries are still really swollen and he would expect pain for a number of weeks yet. Kind of feels like bladder infection pain. SO...off for another scan tomorrow to make sure I'm not filling with fluid again at all. Am a bit stressed as I have to go back to work tomorrow at my casual job. Have given up my main job now, as it's too risky with being pg. I work casually in a retail store and they have been really understanding, but we are opening a new store tomorrow and they have been counting on me to work there for months now. Just can't let them down when they have been so kind. Maybe it will be good for me to get my mind of worrying all the time. I am stressing that all this pain is more than the OHSS. Will know more tomorrow. I just don't want to be scared all the time.

Sorry for the selfish post...just feel I can vent to you all honestly as you all get it.

Thinking of you all and sending you big hugs. Am going to stay with my family on the weekend and will be using their internet as much as possible!!

Shannon- Thinking of you and hoping you have an amazing day tomorrow!!

Bel, how horrible to be feeling the way you do right now hun. I am sending you a huge hug and hope it doesn't last. Try not to worry babe...doesn't do us much good the worry business. Is there something you can do for the ovaries at an acupuncturist or herbalist or something??
Don't appologise for a post about you, you dag! You are what is important and we are here fro you hun. It seems you have done the right thing with work and hopefully that will help you feel a bit better. Just take it easy now hun and look after yourself,...and of course concentrate on those miracle heartbeats you heard the other day. They are there and not going anywhere.
Love and hugs
HM xoxoxo
