morning ladies,
Feel like crap! had accupunture on Friday and she sent me home with needles ( small ones) and I do feel a little better but not 100%. Going for my 6wk scan tomorrow and feeling very nervous. Going to ask the doc if he will treat me in a public hospital. I am happy to pay him (no private cover) but have no real clue how much i am up for. Will it be more for twins? How much will a csection cost if nessecary?
All will be revealed.
Big hello to everyone.
Racheal

have my final IVF scan tomorrow. i will just over 9 weeks. really scared but i guess its normal to be. i have had a LOT of cramp type pain, but i guess its probably my uterus stretching. well i hope it is...
-
HI everyone sorry its going to be a quickie. as im on my way out, but i'll b back
Goodluck Sonya and Zap with your scans today
And has anyone heard from Mako??
Its stinking hot up here in nth qld at the moment, which isnt making me feel the best....but everything is pretty good.....im just exhausted and I still have to put a full day in at work, damn the real world for interfering with my sleep time lol. :D
Off to work I go...Happy Monday everyone xx
-
Morning ladies. How was your weekend?
Sonya and Racheal good luck with your scans today. I can't wait to hear all about them. What time will you be back?
I feel like rubbish this morning. Had my first spew today :ms: It is kind of good though. Makes me really think that I am pregnant because I still can't believe it and that hopefully bub is doing well.
Anyway I have to start work so I will be back in later.
-
Zap & Sonya1 - good luck with your scans today!!!
Sonya1 - I had a lot of cramp pains throughout my pg too & obviously it was just the uterus stretching.
So I am still here waiting patiently, Saturday I had a little leakage & thought it might be waters breaking but have nothing since so it mustn't have been, then last night I was getting little tummy pains & felt like I was going to get my period but that has gone now as well.
My b/h contractions are much more frequent & last longer now so I'm sure she's not too far away although I have been having funny symptoms for a few weeks now so who knows???
Hope everyone had a nice weekend, we finally got most of our front garden done after nearly a year of being in our house (not that I did a lot though).

omigod omigod omigod Jo... almost there! Could the leakage be show? I just read that sometimes it's watery and mistaken for waters breaking (don't ask why I was reading that, sometimes i just open the book at a random page and read).
Good luck with your scans today Zap and Sonya
I had lots of cramping at times too Sonya, so I'm sure it's normal.
Aww, poor ktgirl - that sucks. But, as you say, it is a good sign.
Cost-wise Rachael I have no idea as we're covered by insurance, but it'd be several grand I guess. Some private docs also do public patients - not yours? Wait, are you having twins!?... ah, rereading posts I see you 'might' be... how exciting.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and is doing well. Wonder how Mako and her family are doing...
-
Hi girls,
just a quick one from me to say a very big welcome and congrats to Ktgirl. Well done chickie and you deserve all the happiness in the world.
Well we came home today and are doing really well after a very rough start.
Sage William arrived via emergency c section at 2:50pm last Tuesday. He weighed 5lb 15oz and was 47.5cm long. He spent the first couple of days in special care nursery but is doing really well now. He had very little fluid around him and the cord was wrapped tightly around his neck 3 times.
We are very lucky to have him with us and will cherish every moment even when he is screaming at 2 in the morning lol.
Hope you are all doing well and Jo it sounds like things are starting to happen for you too.All the best hun and i can't wait to see your b/a when the time comes.
-

Hi everyone,
I felt bugsy last night for sure. A kind of fluttering - a funny feeling. I have felt things before, but i'm pretty sure it was always wind!! Now i'm sure that was him last night. DH is working this week, so it's a moment i had on my own. I'm not sure when i'll feel it from the outside, but for now he's just tickling me from the inside.
The dog got spooked at 4.30am and wouldn't stop barking, so i got up to him (to spare the neighbours, and my sister). He's crashed out now - of course, and i am tired already and it's only 8am. It's all good practice, I'm sure.
Jo
-
Congrats on feeling bugsy Kotare - it's great isn't it?
Had our 20-week scan last night - we're having a boy too. Afterwards we realised we were a bit disappointed - didn't realise how much we wanted a girl. But we'll get over it. we rewatched the dvd twice after getting home and started talking about 'our son', which just sounded so weird to begin with. Now we just have to think of some names. had a really nice girl's name picked out... damn.
catch you all later
-
Kotare - yeah on feeling bub, just you wait it wont be long & you wont need to wonder if its bub or not & when Dh feels for the first time it's magic!
Marcellus - Congratulations on finding out your having a boy.
We were the opposite thinking we were having a boy & picked the name as well then surprise it's going to be a girl.
Disappointed wasn't the word as it didn't really matter what sex it was but for us it was just that we thought we knew so we had expected a boy & that is why I'm glad we found out well in advance because we are so ready to welcome our little princess into the world now & couldn't be happier.
So I have been having constant contractions every 10 - 15 minutes for the past two days now but hospital says it's still probably not real labour as they're not painful.
So the waiting game continues although I have a feeling it's not going to be too far away!

Jo It sounds like things are getting ready to happen hun. Make sure you go to the hospital to get checked if your are concerned about anything at all hun. Can't wait to see your little princess's birth announcement ;)
Kotare Those little flutters are amazing aren't they. It won't be too long before you'll be feeling those on the outside too ;)
Marcellus Congrats on baking a little prince. I'm sure you and Dh will come up with a lovely name for him too.
Ktgirl How are you doing hun? I hope you are taking things easy!!!
Thanks for all your kind words to welcome my little man.
Sage is doing well. He slept for 4 1/2 hours last night so I was able to get some sleep too.(He was awake every 1 1/2 hours the night before). He's feeding really well too which is great. I just can't believe how fast the day goes by either. Such little time wasters they are lol. I could spend all day just watching him
Hope you are all doing well and those tummys are growing nicely. Take care.
-
Kotare - Well done on feeling Bugsy move. That is so exciting
Marcellus - Congratulations on expecting a little boy. I am sure you will find some great boys names now you are looking.
Jo- How exciting that it isn't too far away. Rest up (well as much as you can) and keep us updated.
Mako- Give Sage a really big kiss and hug from his Aunty Kate lol  Good work on getting some sleep last night.
I am not feeling very well at the moment. Morning (or all day) sickness has set in from Monday and I am finding it hard to keep anything down. Today has been my best day so far and touch wood I have only been sick once but the other days I have been sick a few times. I just have to keep focusing on the end result. What morning sickness remedies have worked for all of you? I have the sea bands on, I am drinking ginger beer and just trying to eat plain foods. Last night I had to take some Maxolon just to get some food down. Have you got any good tips?
Hi everyone else. I hope you are all having a good day.
-
Well after a few days of studying, I come back to some good news and some bad.
Mako, Congratulations on the birth of your Soon Sage William, it must be so overwhelming to know what could of happened but did not and you have him in your arms. Truly amazing, great story to tell him later on in life, just remind him how special he is.
Sonya, my heart goes out to you, like many here, I simply cannot comprehend what it feels like to loose something to special and dear to the heart.
I wish you all the best.
Ktgirl, just remembering the good old first trimester day and totally feel for you, hope you get over it sooner than later.
Jo, my goodness, your baby really wants to stay in there, I hope the next time we here from you its about the lovely birth you had…..good luck hun.
Marcellus, Congratulations on a wonderful positive scan all the best….
Kotare, so happy that you got to feel bugsy kick, it’s a wonderful experience.
I was spooning DH last night and the baby kicked him in the bum 3 times, the third one was a really good kick, hubby told s/he off for being disrespectful, it was very cute.
Lismith, hope you are doing well…..
Hello to everyone and hope everyone is doing well.
Well, one exam over, one more to go…..than its all focus on the nursery and baby stuff.
-
Oh Sonya I am devestated for you!
-
Sorry i have not being around lately I have being so wrecked.
Went for my 6wk scan on Tuesday
Guess What?
WE ARE HAVING TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going to change my ticker now!
-
Zap - how exciting for you congrat's on 2 little beans hanging out in your belly together growing away!
DJ - the contractions thing sounds overwhelmingly exciting and nerve racking all at the same time, it gets my adrenaline going just thinking about how you could possibly be feeling with the contractions! Good Luck on the count down, hope the hospital takes you in soon!
Kotare - so stoked you can feel baby move, everyone has said how quick it will be now till you see the movements and feel them really regularly. I totally sit each night just watching my belly move around, it's so much more exciting than anything T.V could produce! DH was watching me last night and from silence interrupts my belly movie to say 'Babe, you can't spend the next 4 months staring at your belly, you'll go nuts!' It was quite funny.
Marcellous - Congrat's on your little man, isn't it just so wonderful they can give us a good idea these days - i'm guessing the disappointment you initialy felt is/has subsided?? Little boys are great fun, i have 3 step sons and they're just wonderful young men.
Ktgirl - Yuck for you matey, i found Dh bringing in a fruit cup 1st thing in the morning really helped to settle things, particularly the syrup and then when that stopped working i moved to jelly (which i still have now despite being m/s free),i'd then be able to get down a piece of vegemite toast. I also carried plain salada biscuits around where ever i went, they were my real saviours! Don't stress about keeping food down too much, I wasn't eating well and couldn't handle meal time (though didn't go the maxalon!) and lost several kilo's in the 1st trimester, but both the Dr's and the midwifes told me that it was common and not to worry, so long as i try to eat healthy when i can! Good Luck with it, mine passed around 14 week mark.
Hi to everyone else hope all is well!
-
Hey Zap, good to see you back - glad things went well with your scan. Doubly well in fact! Congratulations x 2.
Can't wait till Jelly starts giving me shows like that Kimbe - i can see my belly move a little when he does 'big kicks', but it's not often. And I reckon you can spend the next 4 months watching your belly if you want to!
Your little girl is so naughty Ltl Panda - Cheeky indeed!
Poor you ktgirl. I think ginger tea (rather than beer - maybe bubbles are not so good...) is good for settling the stomach - but I was lucky not to get m/s so don't really know any good remedies.
Congrats on getting some sleep already Mako! And staring at your son is not really time wasting....
Anyway, yeah, disappointment is over ;). i think a better way of describing it was just a readjustment, like you say Jo. But we're already there using 'he' and 'his' all the time... no way are we going to keep this a secret for long. oh well.
Hope you are all doing well (ish for those in 1st trimester)
