Hey Sush that happened to me for my 1st av, then followed it up few wks later. Her email to BB had gone astray, hence why it hadn't been updated. This time, I just put a post in the 'Avatar' forum instead & whammo, next day had it. Try posting here instead for av changes: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...=242683#242683

Mel - Good to see you back, i have been thinking of you. Glad that the scan went well....isn't it nice to hit the 12 week mark. I don't know about the towels, but I brought some face washers from Big W ages and ages ago and they wash up beautifully, they are still very soft, I see no reason why their towels will not be the same. They just won't be baby ones, but I used proper towels (and still do) with Jack anyway.
-
Sush - way to go on the 10 week mark! Thats fantastic! I would certainly be doing all i could to persuade doc to do a quick scan.... :smt062 ..... ;) Im impressed your neurosis stayed away as long as it did (kidding! .... sort of.... !). Im sure Kat is onto changing you to be a glowing pg av as we speak (I mean type).
Mel - so very happy to also see you hit the 12 week mark. Have you told family/friends yet? Looking forward to seeing your u/s piccie. By the way I saw some beautiful baby towles at Myer the other day...
Shazz - good to see scan went well.
Sal - hope the chook survived ( 8-[ probably best not to ask, I suppose!)
Can totally understand the TTC#2 so quickly after #1 - why the hell not!? We've all done our dues and waited for so long already.
-
Hey Keen Sweetheart - not long for you now, glad to hear your lining and everything is looking good. (Was checking up on you in LTTTC!!)
As for me, had a bit of a sooky day yesterday - so not like me either but I'm blaming it on the pg hormones (why not!!). Just felt depressed and weepy all day and have no idea why. Dh is involved in musical theatre and has a show opening tomorrow night and even though I am involved too I haven't seen much of him. Also, he has a few romantic scenes in the show which normally don't really bother me but at the moment they turn me into a woman posessed!!! Anyway to cut a long story short my darling DH bought me a bunch of flowers and wrote me a very very sweet note about how much he loves me and how he can't wait to meet the baby.. so of course that made me cry too!! Anyway I am MUCH better today and plan to stay that way for a while!!
Hope you are all well!!
Take care
-
Amy,
I wake up and swat DH is I have a dream that he looks at another chick! And that's when I'm not pg!

sushee
-
Awwww hugs, Amy. These hormones of ours are a real pest at times. I'm so glad that your DH brought you some flowers to make you feel better. I love getting flowers, I don't get them that often so when I do it makes it even more special.
-
Good morning girls,
Shell - hope everything is all right and the check up goes well. Your doctor sounds like a real peach and very reassuring.
Keen - thanks for the tip about the towels (DH has some Myer vouchers hanging around coincidentally) so we will take a look there over the weekend. Look after that lining of yours!
Sal - Thanks for asking about the MS ... it's tapering off a fair bit now. It is really only just if I get very tired or delay eating for too long. I've found a fruity ice block works wonders and a squeeze of lemon in iced water is also good for some reason.
Sush - love the new av! Don't think I mentioned that I liked the photo of your kids on your ticker. They're very nice looking kids too. How's YOUR morning sickness? Hope you're hanging in there.
Well my relief at passing the 12 week mark has been dampened somewhat by some disappointing news from a friend yesterday. She has been trying for a baby for several years now. She had a miscarriage last year and it was devastating for her. When I started IVF, I kept her in the loop on everything I was doing and she was the first person I told outside of my family when it worked. Yesterday, she told me that she had conceived twins around the same time I did but both have now miscarried. It is so disappointing and sad, particularly since we have both been trying for ages and it would have been kind of special for the babies to be born so close together. I hope the tests they are having done now will resolve the problems and they can go on to have a live baby next time. She's 39 this year so I hope next year will bring some happiness for her.
Thinking of you all and I will post again soon.
Mel
-
Sush,
LOVE your AV!
Mel,
So sorry to hear about your friend, it will be hard for all of you. Fingers crossed that things get sorted for them really soon.
-
Lol! I have my new av! I love the fact that it looks exactly like my old one but with the belly!
Thanks girls, but I have to admit, Kathryn deserves all the praise for making me look for better than I do IRL. Except for the belly. That's pretty close already! Lol!
Mel, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It's funny how some things seem like kismet (like the two fo you falling pg together) and it makes it even more sad when it goes awry. I hope her time will come and her experience when she finally has her bub will lessen the hardships of previous losses.
As for my ms, all but gone now. Only comes to visit around 8pm in the evenings, and I'm usually nodding off by 9pm, so not long to suffer. What has taken over is the pain in my hips and joints from the stretching of the ligaments, and I have - at 10 and a 1/2 weeks - developed the duck waddle already. This happened with Zaki too and I ended up being nearly immobile by 30 weeks, unable to get out bed, or a chair, or from my car unaided. If this continues, leaving work early may be mandatory, not just a wish.
Aside from that, am also having a visit with my Dr today so :crossfingers: I'll get to see bub again today! DH can't get out of work, which is a shame, but he'll be there for my Nuchal Translucency scan in 2 weeks anyway, so that's not so bad, I guess! Shell, you have nerves of steel to refuse a weekly scan. Don't think I would be able to!
I hope everyone is well! Hearing about all the baby shopping is making me feel like hitting the shops!
love

Gosh Mel, that must be hard for your friend, and also for you, I think there's a sort of 'luck guilt' that us long-termers feel when WE fall pg and we know of other long-termers who haven't made it yet. Anyway, that's how I feel, I just want all the long-termers to fall pg and join us in this thread and have a wonderful pregnancy.
So glad to hear that m/s is tapering off, hope it is for Sush, too.
Sush, your av is cute!
Well a little update from me: my coccyx is on the mend, thank goodness. I have a special pillow to sit on and am now very vigilant about sitting still or in a bad posture for too long. My heartburn comes and goes, seemingly unrelated to what/when I eat. My bump is growing, though strangers would not notice that I'm pg yet. The bump is lopsided, though!! When I went to my last ante-natal clinic (with my new GP) he couldn't figure out the position of the baby, which makes two of us! I feel kicks either up under my right rib or down low in my left side, so that accompanied with a right-sided bulge makes me think my little man is lying at a 45 degree angle across my front! I was complaining to my mum about being lopsided yesterday, and poked at the bulge - she told me to stop poking the baby!
OK I have to get a whole assignment done today...*sigh* it's already 11am and I haven't started. Right-o, must crack on with it.
Hope everyone is well today, I just can't believe that Mel is already 12w (a YAY :cheer: for making that milestone!) and we are all motoring on. Gosh, at some point I'm going to have to come to terms with the reality that I'm going to be having a baby! Yikes!
-
Oops! Posting at same time as you, Sush! So glad m/s has settled down. Good luck for your appt today and I hope you can sweet talk the doc into having another look at your bub!!
-
Keen, oooh goody, not long til ur transfer, & hopefully a BFP.
Mel, so sorry to hear about your friend, hope they sort things out for her & it happens quickly.
Mel & Sush glad to hear that m/s has eased up. I ate a juicy fruit ice block (or whatever their called), the long stick ones, the other day & it went down real well. Also find eating a Tangello helps (also called Mineola), kinda like a cross between an orange & a mandarin, but juicier & sweeter, yummm. Although I haven't had m/s anywhere near as bad as u both.
Sush, yay on the belly av. I kinda got a bit of a belly IRL too, finding some of my clothes just aren't fitting, even wore my maternity jeans the other day (just have to roll the waist down few times), no-one noticed. How bout u Mel? Hope u get to see bub again at your aptmt. Cool, our NT scans & our tickers are 2 days apart.
Amy, hope those hormones ease up soon. Cool, flowers & an emotional letter, DH's can be sooo sweet sometimes hey!!!
Sal, bout the LT TTC'ers, I totally agree. Hehe on poking your bubby. Oooh, only 4mths to go, ur flyin by.
OMG, only 2mths left for Gabby. Hope ur not feeling too uncomfortable & overworked.
3mths for Tiff & 4mths for Sal & Tam. It must be so good to be over that half way mark.

Hi All
Very very busy at work ATM. Just wanted to pop in an say gday and YAY Mel on reaching past 12 weeks and Sush on your new AV!!
-
Sush - I am SO much loving your av preggy belly! Adorable. Glad to hear your ms has all but disappeared. Time to start to relax and enjoy.... (and get shopping too ;) ). Big yaye on getting to see bubs again!
Mel - that is really terrible fr your friend. And must be a bit hard for you too. Fingers crossed that they find some answers very soon.
The lining is being very well looked after - DH keeps call me his little heart-shaped kitten - he thinks its cute that I have a heart-shaped ute, yeah, sure, if you could see it and it didnt make things that much more scary (think he is just trying to make me feel better about the whole thing). Cant believe you have passed the magic 12 week mark - that, my friend, is cause for celebration!
Sal - good luck with the assignment. Im sure you'll just toss it together in no time and blitz it 8-[ .... ;) . LMAO about your lopsided tummy too!
Shell - I tell you I'll be posting in here before anywhere else as soon as I get that BFP.... and I WILL get it!
Im at home sick from work today - last night had terrible (sorry if TMI) non stop violent vomitting from about midnight to 6am this morning. Now have a shocking flu as well - cant believe my luck that I would get them both at once.
-
quick post - late for picking my Dh up from work - scan was great and I got to see the little'un, who was wiggling and squirming. Dr is very happy but accidentally tore through the picture he printed for me! So no pictures, but happy anyway.
Hope you're feeling better Keen, especially before the big day on turesday!

yay Sushee i am so glad the scan went well \:D/
-
Sush - Love the belly, did I miss it last night?
Mel - It's pretty hard to take sometimes all these sad stories about. A girlfriends niece has just been induced at 22 weeks as they found out her baby had potters syndrome(?)(kind of kidney failure) if she had gone full term her baby would only have lived for a couple of hours and they advise to induce earlier in these circumstances. It's very sad and I sobbed my heart out for her, even though I had never met her.
No news here, had a arvo nap today, very tired and very moody again. I've had it up to my neck with my DH and alternativily want to punch him or divorce him. Or possible both? The heartburn is coming and going (thankfully) so i'm pleased it is not a constant thing atm. And my bloods came back saying that my iron levels are pretty low, so now have to take a supplement. I'm already taking a pregnancy/bf pill but have to take the seperate iron as well.
-
Sush glad the scan went well and you got to see your little one.
Hope everyone is well.
I had my OB appointment this morning. I have a low lying placenta but will have another scan at 28 weeks to check it out again. Otherwise everything is great!! Baby girls HB 150 B/P, boys 160b/p, all normal. Blood pressure perfect and no swelling for me. I weighed in at 62 kgs so I have only put on 9 kgs so far, which doc tells me for twins is great. Fundal height measuring 28cm, in otherwords measuring belly size of a 28 week pg but only 22 weeks really. Bubbas both measuring 22 weeks also. So all in all so far so good.
-
sush - Glad the scan went ok, I think i forgot to post about it last nght.
Tam - WOW 62 kg!!!!! I wish I was 62kg, I'm too embarrassed to pop my weight on now, I think I have put 9 or 10 kg on though as well. Great that your appt went well. You have certainly skedaddled that old wives tale of boys hb less than 150 and girls over! Glad that it is all going so well for you.
Has anyone had trouble sleeping lately? I was awake from 3am this morning, then fell off to sleep at 6am, then the alarm went off at 630am. Prior to waking up a t 3am, I was up at 130am for a wee. Needless to say I had to have a sleep this afternoon with Jack.
-
Hi Jo,
I had really bad insomnia with Zaki, and even now, if I don't get to fall asleep when I start to nod off at about 9pm, I then can't sleep until past 1am. Hopefully you manage to have alternate days of sleep so you don't get over tired.
Tam, excellent news about the scan. So nice when everything's going great guns!
Some silly women sprayed perfume all around me in the office (yes I'm still at work!) and now I'm feeling sick to my stomache. Must complain to my boss about it! Lol!

It's been soo quite in here hope every one is enjoying their weekend

Lol, Jo,
Talking about insomnia, guess who couldn't sleep last night until 2am?
Grrrr
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Hello Shazz!

Hello Girls,
Just got home from the hospital (work not baby, LOL), hubby has gone to play golf, my mobile is silent (what a bliss) so I thought I would post and let you know I am alive (just....) and all is well.
I am getting a bit tired with work and all, still doing about 80+ hours each week, 12 days on, 2 days off so I am just not finding the energy to post very much. I am so sorry, because I miss you guys!
I still have not had time to start on the nursery, but we have bought a pram and a cot last weekend. Still have to do the rest, but it is exciting!!
3 more weeks of work.... if I make it that far. I am getting very swollen legs after operating all day, so might have to restrict that if I can...
Hope every one is really really well, I will go and catch up on the last few pages.
Miss you all, hugs and belly rubs!
-
Gab - Glad to hear from you. I know your a doctor and that, but you should really be starting to take it a bit easy. 80+ hours a week is so not good, surely the hospital would understand..............but then again, going with all the crap that is occurring at my local hospital, perhaps not ;)
Sush - Don't you just HATE it. I get really cross with myself and that just makes it worse. Glad to report that I had the best nights sleep last night for ages, only got up once for a wee and woke up another time very briefly. Unfortantly a 2.5 year old woke us up at 550am as he was excited to be going to visit his nanna!
-
Gaby so glad to hear from you but not good about your huge work hours. At least you only have 3 weeks to go - you take it easy girl.
As for me I discovered my first stretchmark on my boob this morning...not very happy about that. Went out and bought some oil immediately and will now bathe in it every day!!
Take care everyone.
-
Amy, Lol about the strech mark. I have got heaps from my first three (when I was young and didn't care) and so I figure what's a few more?
Jo, I had another night of very little sleep last night, but am heartened that you managed to get some shut eye.
Gabby, so good to see you back, my sweet, though your schedule sounds horrendous! I sit all day and I'm still figuring I ain't going to make it to 34 weeks! You wonderwoman, you! Hopefully the next three weeks goes quickly for you, or you decide to chuck it in early. Either way, I'm hoping for some relief for you soon. I cannot believe you're only a couple of months away from seeing Munchy!
I'm off to try to sneak in an arvo nap if I can, but will see you lovely ladies tomorrow!
love
sushee
-
Amy - Oh no........but hey, be proud of them ;)
Sush - I wonder if it's the baby/s bouncing about that is somehow keeping us awake? I had another good night last night, hope it lasts another night or two.
Had my next dr appt today, everything is fine. found the heartbeats again which was great as I was back in panic mode. Another appt in 4 weeks time and my next scan at around the 10th October, but I will probably have it the Friday before. As usual, celebrated by going baby shopping......
6 days to go...........................
-
Gab - so good to hear all is going well with you. Cant believe the hours you are still working - you must be SO ready for a break! But I suppos it probably has made the time fly by much quicker (mind you only feels like yesterday when you announced your BFP)....
Amy - hugs to you on the stretch mark, honey. It sucks, but Jo's right - at least you have good reason to be proud of it.
Jo - glad to hear you heard the heartbests again, bet thats reassuring. Hey 10th Oct is my birthday, so trust me it will be more good news ;)
Sush - Hope you get yourself some sleep soon... you should have slapped that lady with the stinky perfume - thats just wrong!
Well, hopefully for me I will have two little strong embies on board tomorrow.... you guys have to keep everything crossed for me, so I can finally become a permanent fixture in here!
-
Keen,
Good luck today! I figure that as I'm typing this, your snowbubs are already safe in mum's belly! Now is our turn to distract you in the TWW!
Jo, I reckon my insomnia may be from the hundreds of hours I slept in the previous four weeks -nodding off at 7 in the evening and sleeping like a log until 7 the next morning - that my body is rebelling now! I've overloaded on sleep, and now I'm paying! Lol! That's my theory anyway. Yours must be bubs having a party in there at night!
love
sushee
-
I reckon the insomnia comes from the weird-arse dreams you have when pg! Last night was just one freaky dream after another.
Jo great news on the dr's appointment, we have our midwife appt on Thurs and can't wait to hear the dush dush again.
As for the stretch marks, I figure I have and will continue to earn them so I may as well embrace them...Eek.
-
Anyone else notice that if you type a swear word like arse, it automatically comes up with a symbol - arse arse arse!!!
Sorry moderators, I think that is really clever, especially with my potty mouth at the mo.
-
LOL Amy, crack me up. Yep, I have to agree on the wierd arse dreams. As for the stretch marks, yikes, that's 1 thing about pregnancy that I'm not lookin forward too, but it comes from a good cause. I'm using 'Bio-Oil' from the Chemist (was in 1 of those preggy mags & my friend has used it on her back surgery scars) & Vaseline Intensive Care pump pack (Yellow bottle) daily at the moment. Not using very much of the bio-oil though. Hope it helps.
Jo & Sush, I to wake up in the night. End up nodding off now between 9-10pm & every morning seem to wake between 3-4am, only to nodd off again at 6am & to get up 40mins later. Apart from the loo trips in between.
Keen, awesome, your on your way to that magical BFP.
-
Keen - Hope to see you in here in a couple of weeks.
Amy - ROFLMAO, no it must be a new thing as I'm sure I have sworn on here before.......lets try out a couple......bum......bloody......****......bugger
Ah well, small things amuse small minds :)
Sush - Hate to tell you but I had another good one last night. Wonder if it's because I'm out of panic mode atm? Anyway I'm sure it will come back again soon. Hope tonight is a good one for you.
-
-
I got two bubs on board, guys!! Im very excited and hopeful for this cycle.
Start warming up my seat!
-
YAY Keen!!!
Oh I will be keeping everything crossed for you!
-
Your seat's already to go Keen ;)
-
I have everything crossed for you too Keen!
-
GoKeenGoKeenGoKeenGoKeenGoKeen ....
(testing out censors) "bum bum titty titty bum"
-
Nope Mel - not bad enough!! Nice try though!!
Keen - Awww I'm so thrilled it all went to plan, have everything crossed for you sweet.
Shell - I bought the bio oil too and have been covering myself in it every morning.
Apparently I kept DH awake all night with my snoring last night..he he, told him it's probably not going to get any better and it's his come uppance for when he has a drink and falls asleep on his back and starts up like a tractor!
