Congratulations BG :D Hope the m/s doesn't give you too much grief. My GP prescribed me maxalon but found I couldn't take it in the afternoon when I really needed it as it made me really drowsy. Not a good thing when you have to survive at work until 5 and then drive 45 minutes home. So I was just taking it at night when i got home as I seemed to suffer from afternoon and all night sickness the most. It has eased off now though. As awful as it is, it's reassuring while it's hanging around!
-
:)Hey BG...welcome here...congrats!
-
Just a quick post because I'm at work and on class - just wanted to bounce around a bit because BG is finally here with us!
When it comes to maxolon - I found that half tablets would take the edge off without knocking me out too severely...
And Devon, munchkin's room is FULL of mess which needs to be cleared out. I suspect the cot will stay flat-packed in its box for a while yet. Clearing out the room is my job for these school holidays... one more day to go...
BW
-
BW - I'm so excited that BG is here too!! School hols sounds like a great time to set up munchkin's room. We've got a long weekend in WA this weekend, and DH and I have tomorrow off too - so I'm hoping we can get some clearing out done over the four days.

TL - All the best for the scan sweets. I've just heard that Lucky Strike has had a BFP, another one to join the band of merry LT-ers in this thread.
I get so emotional over the slightest things these days. I had tears when I read about LS's BFP, wathcing tv shows like "find my family", reading sceince fiction books, after DH and I have 'grown up cuddles' - I need to pull myself together.
Hope you're all doing ok today.

-
thanks for the warm welcome ladies!
i'm sure i'll get myself in here a bit more as time progresses - for now, i'm just kinda flitting in and out. hormone levels are reassuring that all is going ok - but i think i'll need to see a heartbeat to feel a bit better about it all!
and yeah, MS is reassuring - but it's NASTY! i am supposed to spend all day talking - very hard to breathe deeply through waves of nausea when you have to keep talking lol
-
BG - Great news Congrats
Bw - What a great school holiday project remeber to post some pics :)
Devon, Nxion, Possums Megan and Janie thanks for the feedback and good luck I really appreciate it 8.15 tommorrow is the scan time so should have something to post early morning

BW - Enjoy your last day of school, and then woohoo school holidays, good luck with the nursery!
Devon- Great news on the movements and good luck with the Doula.
Megan - Not long now until that scan! Cant wait to hear your news
Huge :bellyrubs: to Possums, Nixon, BW, Queen... and hopefully i haven't missed anyone!
Well we had our 30 week scan today and babies are both going well lots of kicking and carrying on, they are both doing really well and thanks to gestational diabetes have fattened up, the boy is weighing at 3"13 and the girlie is 3"8 so above average for their ages now, so i can completely understand why i am feeling kinda over it with 7 + pounds of baby in there! Somehow still managing to lose weight with the GD and now at 30 weeks have only put on 3kg. And manageing to keep my sugar levels ok with diet so far... oh and the best news of all......... 11 days of work left before maternity leave!!!! Woohooo!!

Scan went well bubs slept through most of it :) NF measurment of 1.1 so all looking good will post pics and more later

Hi everyone,
Have been MIA as have not been able to post for some reason, however have been keeping up with the thread. Glad to hear your scan went well TL and sorry to hear about your earlier stressors which I hope have now passed. I also had my 12wk scan and all appears to be going well for the babies. They look like little people now.
Wow Shannon that must be great to know your babies are growing well and glad to hear you are handling the gestational diabetes okay, albeit an extra hassle. Your maternity leave is well earnt! Enjoy.
Welcome to Brissygirl and Possums. A big congrats on your BFP, you must be quite relieved after all your efforts! Wishing you both a healthy and =) pregnancy.
Hi Devon, Nixon, megan and BW, hope you are travelling along well.
Had some great news regarding my mum who had a lump removed from her breast yesterday, it appears it has not spread anywhere and they may have caught it in time. Such a relief!
Anyway need to scoot off to work. Catch you all again soon.
Queenh
-
hi queenh- great news about your mum
tiggerlinda- thats wonderful- bet it was great to see your little one on the scan!
shannon- glad things are going well...maternity leave soon for you...wow, thats exciting and not too long to go for you
devon- hope things went well booking a doula
afm- all going along ok, feeling happy, bit crampy and tired...no MS (yet) :)
-
I am mostly well, but in a foul and grumpy mood, so this won't be a long post. My OB appointment yesterday went well and she's really happy with the munchkin... I find out how unhappy she is with me next appointment (4 weeks) when we re-check the iron levels! I'm also seriously annoyed that I have to do another GTT (full on 2 hour torture regime) very soon. We'll re-check the iron levels then and if I don't hear from her I'm good... if they're really low, I'll have a phone call from her... ugh!
Anywah, headache from hell and there are so many teachers out that I can't go home. I've been sent away from assembly to sit quietly (and so the maths teacher that complains most about the noise in the staffroom yet won't shut his bloody mouth today) sneaks out of assembly and joins me! Seriously not happy (and in extreme pain!)

Hey ladies you got room for one more.
Finally DH and I got our BFP last Thursday on our second IVF cycle and I think we are both still in shock!!
There is still such a long way to go and hope this little one is nice and sticky...
I went this morning to get my levels checked again as I had a small spot around 3am this morning and HCG is at 427 and Progesterone is at 422 so far so good.
I am so excited to join you all and have seen several of you post in the AC threads in the past and want to wish all a H & H Pregnancy.
Looking forward to chatting with you all in the following months.
-
Nic :cheer: great news hun so gald to have you in here :)
-
Great HCG numbers!! Congratulations
Yay to you and your hubbie
:loveshower:
-
Congratulations Nicole, and welcome! :)
-
Nic- welcome here! yay, we've both made it over here in September...levels sound good
afm- having my levels checked again on wednesday, just to keep tracking things for now...only 2 weeks now until our first scan...yay!
-
Thanks ladies, I still can't believe it...I must still be in shock.
Quick question, I had another light pink spot on the toot paper on Sunday and this morning did any of you get this??
Possum, yeah for your scan in a couple of weeks.
I think mine is in 14 sleeps time...not that I'm counting or anything :p
-
Congratulations Nic :dance: So wonderful to see you here.
In regards to the light spotting, I didn't have any, but I know a lot of women who did and continued with perfect pregnancies. I think that if it is light/occasional then there isn't too much to worry about. If it is heavy and red then you need to get to the doctor/hospital. Your levels sound great! If you are worried, ring your doctor/nurse and check with them. It is better not to sit and stress about it.
Wishing you a H&H pregnancy.
Janie xxx
-
Congratulations, Nic! The shock wears off about the same time the nausea sets in... May the rest of your pregnancy be happy and trouble free, and the spotting can nick off! Afraid I don't have any experience with spotting like that, though.

Hi Everyone
I will attempt to do personals  Im just so happy that this thread is soooo busy
BW: Hope you REALLY enjoy school hols and find some way to relax and pamper yourself!!!
Nicole: Big Welcome. Yes i had some spotting around 12 weeks and it is quite normal to get a little when your period would have been due, the dr told me as long as its not heavy and not accompanied by alot of pain. In any case its always worth getting checked out to put your mind at ease!
Possums: hope the next 2 weeks fly by, V exciting!
Tl: so glad all went well with your scan, sounds like you have a very well behaved little
bub!
Poppihome: hope your doing ok, thinking of you
Queen: so so happy everything was good with your mum, that is just so scary and a stress you and your mum definately dont need with your little bub on the way.
Shannon: i really cant believe you are still working, you must be totally exhausted with 2 big bubs kickin around in there, hopefully these last few days they'll let you slack off abit i think you deserve it!
BG: Just so great to see you in here, so sorry your feelin so ill though, but like you said its so reassuring, but hopefully the edge will be taken off by the seabands they are really good, but leave you with just enough nausea to know everything is good. Hope the next few weeks fly by till you can get to see that little :heartbeat:
oh how excting we have new smiles!!!
Devon: hope your enjoying the long weekend and the awsome weather, bring it on i say.
AFM: Feelin good espicially with this great weather, roll on summer, but bubs is sooooooo busy i actuall feel very very sore today, did some gardening yesterday and dont know if that brought it on, but my lower abdomen is just aching like i have been kicked (which isnt surprising) DS was never this active, she just doesnt seem to stop! Well it all feels a little boring at the mo with no appointments or scans or tests i hardly know what to do with myself and DS has gone to spend the week with his grandparents, so im lost, will be ok once im back to work wednesday.
Well really hope i didnt miss anyone. Have a lovely day (probably week by the time i get back on here) Good luck and tonnes of sticky vibes to you all
-
afternoon all!
Nic - welcome - looks like we'll only be a couple of days apart!
not alot of personals today - still trying to get my head around who is where!
just wanted to pop in and post - got a referral from my clinic for u/s today, so called up, and they've slotted me in on Friday - i asked if that was late enough (given i'll only be six weeks or just over) and they said it will be fine - so viability scan on friday! woot - that's so soon! i got the shakes when i hung up - i think scan is the first of the big milestones to get past! DH was so sweet - rang his boss and said "i've gotta be home on Friday for a few hours" then gave me a big hug. he's very excited! took me shopping yesterday (can i say, the gremlin HATES shopping as much as mummy - was so tired and blurgh last night!) - bought some little jump suits and a teddy bear for the baby. he's embracing this so much - it's very cute! he's such a big scary looking fella (BW would probably attest to that) - but he's such a big softie!
-
scooby- hi there...glad things are going well and you are enjoying the warmer weather
briggsys girl...wow scan so soon, how exciting...good luck... mine is not for another two weeks.
nicole- yay, not long until your scan :D I haven't had any spotting, but I know it can happen and all be OK
tl, nixon, queenh, shannon, janie and butterflywarrior, hello, hope you are all doing well :) (hope i didnt miss anyone)
afm- all going along well....another BT in two days to check levels are ok. Feeling very bloated and some work pants are tight. Have others experienced that in the early days? when did you find your belly started to show?
-
Possums, I noticed very early on that all my clothes were uncomfortable. It changes on a daily basis though how bloated I feel. From about 6 weeks I couldn't handle the waist of my pants sitting on my lower belly so when I sat down, I had to pull them right up harry high pants style to make them more comfy! I can't wait to get into some comfy stretchy mat clothes!
BG, good luck for your scan on Friday. :)
Nic, I had a tiny bit of spotting the day before AF was due but that's it. It seems very common for people to have spotting, but I agree that if you think something doesn't seem right, or you're concerned to get it checked out. No point worrying yourself silly (easier said than done I know!)
AFM - finally over my bout of tonsillitis...and just when I thought the m/s was gone, it's back again today with a vengence. I have been sick ALL day today and for the first time all pg I have a metallic taste in my mouth. It's horrible. NT scan on Monday and I am now starting to freak out about that, and have been having nightmares. One of them had me on the bed getting scanned and the Dr came in and yelled at me because I wasn't pregnant, and what was I doing here wasting their time?! lol I think it's going to be a long week!!
-
Hi Everyone
I finally got my BFP last Thursday 25/9 after my first IVF/ICSI cycle and I am ecstatic!
HCG levels were 290, but b/c I had some red clots come out of me during my 2WW, we did a followup test today and levels were 1633!
So the last few days at work, I have done absoluteley nothing as I have been too busy day dreaming :)
I have a 6 week ultrasound next Thursday with my FS, and am due around June 3rd, but I guess that might change after my U/S.
Its been a crazy couple months but I am finally here -
Congratulations to everyone here for making it this far, it's an exciting time for all of us!
I will start on personals another day as its late and need a rest.
-
Luckystrike :dance: so great to see you here! Congratulations on your BFP and welcome to the thread!
Janie xxx
-
Woo Hoo Luckystrike.....BIG congrats again my TWW buddy
-
Luckystrike- congrats again and welcome to this thread! A few of us now from the same TWW  I spent the first week daydreaming too and looking up baby websites and stuff....not much productivity at work...lol
megan- thanks for saying you felt the same with the bloating. Hope you aren't feeling too sick.
afm- just waiting for tomorrow's BT and now exactly 2 weeks until our 8 week scan  bit nervous actually thinking about it. I so hope everything is OK
-
LS :welcome: and :cheer: excellent news
Me had a big day at work a bit tired and I gather there was nothing bad with the NF results as the midwife said I would get a call yesterday if there was from the OB on call so :cheer: Next move 20 week scan :)
-
TL- glad all's going so well, great to hear.... 20 week scan...how exciting does that sound!
-
Hi Girls
Sorry i have been MIA my beautiful labrador put her foot through my laptop screen!!
So many new people in here too, congratulations to you all for finally making it, i hope you have happy healthy pregnancies.
AFM- Had our 8 week scan today our bubbie is 1.23cm long and its little heart rate was 154 so everyone happy except they think i may have diabetes so got to have more tests for that too. My EDD is 14th May, 2008 and i meet with my OB in like 2 weeks...starting to feel real now.
Anyway beds calling talk to you all soon!
Love Bee
-
Bee- great news about the scan, you must feel happy!
afm...just got today's BT results.... I am now 31DPO and they are 8630.... at 23DPO they were 3860...my IVF nurse says she's happy with that as they don't have to exactly double every 48-72 hours for everything to still be going OK. To be honest, I am worried though as I gues I expected the levels to be a lot higher. Does anything else have any experiences with these type of levels. Also my progesterone is 80 and last week was 120...but she said the drop there isn't a concern, because as long as it's over 30 they are happy. Still, I am worried.
-
TL, great news to hear that your next scan is at Week 20....
Possums, I'm not too sure on levels but am sure if they were concerned in your levels they would get you back for another test.
Bee, Woo Hoo on 8 week scan and bubba being 1.23cm long. I actually got out my ruler to see...amazing how small we all start out.
AFM, well it's self confession time..I wasn't going to post as I am so .
Well the so called spotting actually wasn't from me over the weekend.
I used the loo and looked at the toot paper and noticed small light pink spots on it ebfore I even too it off the roll. I would never have thought that there would be any marking as they are white...so it must have been a little over spray from the factory.
I can't believe I stressed over the weekend over nothing...I guess getting this far you just don't want anything to go wrong.
It still scares the crap out of me knowing that my first scan is in 13 sleeps and I have no bloods tests in between.
Anyway ladies so sorry for the long post and hope you are all having a great day:grouphug:
-
Nicole- great that everything is OK!! You know, while I was in the TWW I used loo paper with pale pink flowers on it, and of course after it was wet, the flower colour was darker, and I panicked a few times, thinking I had light spotting...and then i would realise it was just pattern on the paper... !!
-
Nicole - we used to get printed loo paper but i realised how much it was going my head in cycle after cycle, so now it's boring old white all the time! don't fret hun, you're not alone!
Possums - if your clinic aren't super stressed about your numbers, don't allow yourself to be stressed either. i know it's easier said than done, but the last thing you want to do is put yourself under further duress. if they think it's a problem, they'll get more testing done sooner rather than later
sorry about the relative lack of personals - am seriously contemplating sleep again! had a shocking sleep last night, and feeling decidedly seedy today from it! am also a little annoyed with my family being so damn judgemental about the choices DH and I are making. we've essentially been told it's a waste of time and money buying new furniture for our little Gremlin, and can't seem to understand why, after going through what we've been through, we want everything for our baby to be perfect! yes, it's going to cost a bit more, but WE are paying for it - WE have paid for everything so far in this journey, so why do they need to judge? it's not like we've asked anyone else to pay for anything! i don't want to have a room full of unmatched furniture! we've furnished our house the way we want it, why should the Gremlin's room be any different? Why, simply because it's not the eldest grandchild, should it be subjected to 9 year old second hand stuff that's been used for three other kids? i don't care if it's in "good condition - we want this to be perfect! i don't want a heap of toys that are kinda good, but been used as chew toys for at least three other kids! i'm happy for our bub to play with this stuff at their place, but i'm not filling my house with second hand stuff and not allowing our child to have anything new and special of it's own! am i being unreasonable?
-
briggsy's girl- nope perfecly reasonable i think...you've been through a lot to get here...if you want to by brand new stuff for your little miracle why shouldn't you? if you can afford it, go for it. They should respect, and really should understand, your decision and the reasons why.
thanks for your reassurance to me. I am trying not to worry...I think I just had in my head that it would have doubled every 2-3 days and therefore be higher...but my nurse said it can fluctuate and go a little slower sometimes.... I just want my scan to hurry up. I actually called my Ob and he was away until friday (saw him last time..but my first appt this time is for after our scan)...I just wanted another opinion. His receptionist said I can call again friday when he's back anyway.
-
possums, if you're in need of reassurance, call to speak to the FS on Friday - even if it's just another set of bloods to put your mind at ease that things are continuing to increase kwim?
-
Sorry girls, I haven't been around much and there's a lot to catch up on!
Queenh - wonderful news on your scan, and so glad to hear that your mum's op seems to have gone really well. Keeping everything :crossfingers: that she continues to do well.
Nicole S - congratulations and welcome!! I apologise, but I did have a tiny chuckle over your toilet paper news, it's wonderful though – no spotting! You shouldn't be embarrassed, I'm sure we've all done the same thing. I usually get recycled toilet paper, and it can have coloured specks in it, and I have freaked out loads of times over them. I started buying non-recycled to put an end to it.
TL - really glad to hear all went well at your scan, bring on 20 weeks hey? Can't wait to see your new av.
Scooby - I hope you're getting a break from the big kicks! I know what you mean about it feeling a bit boring with not much going on, but I guess that's also a good thing! I think we'll look back on this period fondly once we're well into the third trimester!
BG - not long till Friday!! Can't wait to hear you've seen the heartbeat! As for your family hassling you about baby gear - it's your baby, your money, you do whatever you want!! I definitely understand your wanting a matching nursery. I've been fantasising about being in a position to decorate a nursery for over two years, so I figure I can have whatever I want (if we can afford it!!)
Megan - I hope you're feeling better today and feeling OK about your NT scan, but perfectly understandable to be freaking out. I felt so much better after mine, so you just need to get through the next few days, and then you can hopefully relax a bit more. The early weeks are just so hard  but it will get better!
LuckyStrike - Congratulations to you too! Wonderful news, and glad to hear that your levels are looking good. Best of luck for your scan next week.
Possums - I'm sure that if your nurse said she was happy with your levels that everything is fine. It's so hard not to worry though  I hope you can get through to your FS on Friday - why do they have to go away at the most inconvenient times??
Bee - Great news on your scan, you must be so relieved! Really hope you don't have diabetes though, good luck with all the tests.
AFM – I'm getting stressed out, as usual. Now I'm getting myself worked up about the birth, wanting to have a no intervention or low intervention birth and scared I'm not going to get it in my hospital. Have been interviewing doulas, but it's just making me more worried and more fixated on it. Need to chill out a bit I think. On the upside, I'm getting a lot more movement, which is very reassuring. I just can't wait to meet our baby! Oh, and DH and I are off to an active birth workshop this Sunday – I can't wait!
Geez, this thread is so busy now - it's wonderful!! But much harder to keep up with everyone. For everyone I've missed, I apologise and send lots of :bellyrubs: and hope you're all doing well.
Devon

-
Have to agree BG, you are being perfectly reasonable!!!
After such a long journey I say knock yourself out....give the credit card a good work out
This is your first long anticipated baby and you should NOT have to think twice about spending money on anything new for baby.
As possum said they should really understand your decision no questions asked!!!
....and on a Safety side standard do change and I wouldn't trust anything that was 9 years old no matter where it came from
-
Don't worry Devon, I too was laughing out loud...poor DH thought I was going nuts when I finally worked out what it was...
