I hope I have good news too for mine on Monday (only slightly freaking out now!)
Possums that is great news! You must be so releived everything is OK.
Its hard not to worry though, I am constantly worrying that everything is OK. I am trying to eat & and drink and take care of myself and do everything right! I'll feel much better after my 6 week scan too.
Well congratulations again and have a great weekend! You and BG should be very happy after such a positive day.
Wow this thread has picked up some pace
BG & Possums congrats on your fantastic scan results its so nice to see that little babys heart flickering away!
Megan - Good Luck on monday i am sure bubs will just be perfect! Is this 12 weeks?
Huge :bellyrubs: to everyone and i will try and stay more upto date!
Things here are good i have one week left at work which is why my posting has been minimal i have my replcement looking over my shoulder everyday and by the time i get home all i want to do is sleep!
We had a check up yesterday and babies are perfect, belly is measuing at 38 weeks :jawdrop: which is why i am so uncomfortable and am getting braxton hicks all day everyday ranging between 10 - 20 mins apart and they do bloody hurt whoever made up the rumour that they dont! Our presenting twin is head down so we are now slightly getting the chance to think about a vaginal delivery which is a little daunting thinking i have to push these two out in the next 6 weeks! Its too late to turn back now!
Have a lovely weekend!
Shan
Wow what a great day for scans and checkups well done everyone :leap: and :bellyrubs:
Shannon, yep this is 12 weeks. I can't decide if it's gone fast or taken forever to get here!
Wow, only a week left of work :) It's getting so close to when you will have two little bundles keeping you busy :)
Meagan Good Luck for Monday sweetie I know how you feel over the has it gone fast thing I know at one stage if someone else had tole me it had gone fast I would have screamed. Yet sometimes I look back in disbelif ;)
Congratulations Possums and BG! How fantastic to see your little one's HB... It is truely something to remember.
Hi everyone else... hope you are all well.
Janie xxx
Thanks Janie. :D see my Ob tomorrow to discuss results and the next step etc.
megan- good luck for your scan
hi everyone else.... hope you are doing well.
Just wondering ladies...if you had an early scan (6-7 wks) did you have another scan before the 12 week mark too, or wait until then? Not sure what to expect happens next.
Hi Possums... I am going to a private OB and he does a scan just in his room each time I go. So after my early 6 week 3 day scan with FS, I then had an 8 week scan with OB. Next was the proper 12 week scan and then on Monday next week we have our 16 week appointment with OB who will do another quick scan.
So I think all in all it depends on your OB. I hope yours does the scans each time you go... it is truely amazing to see how much they change. At 6wk3day, mine looked like a little worm, at 8 weeks it looked like 2 round blobs, and then at 12 weeks - a real baby!
Janie xxx
Thanks Janie. I am going to a private OB from tomorrow onwards now too, and I hope I can have another scan before 12 weeks too.
Sadly I don't have the option where I live of a private birth. From 12 weeks on, my Ob has to refer me to the clinic at my public hospital and all remaining checks will be there. I am a bit upset about that, but there is just no choice here. I had thought I could at least see my own OB through the pregnancy, but have now found out how it works.
I had my NT scan this morning....and there is a baby in there afterall!!! :D As I hadn't seen a heartbeat at all and had no idea if things were progressing well, it was a long sleepless night last night. Nuchal fold measures at 1.2mm so all good. Will get my actual results combined with BT at my next appt I think. Buddy is measuring 3 days ahead at 12w6d but we're sticking with the dates we already had at 12w3d. He's 6.9cm long and heartbeat was 154.
I still can't believe I am actually pregnant! It's still so surreal. :)
Megan waht wonderful news I must admit I am surprised at ecah scan to see bubba too. Good news on NF reading
Great news megan- what a good result, you must feel so happy and relieved
TL- like your new avatar...
Thanks TL :) Love your new av by the way!!
I can organise to change mine now finally!! :)
Thanks Possums! :) Relief is definitely what I'm feeling!!
woo hoo Megan - fantastic result hun!
Go for it Megan I love my new one
Congratulations Megan, that's wonderful news. It must have been so exciting to see your baby! NT measurement sounds really good too!
TL - love the new av!
How's everyone else doing?

Hi everyone, hope you are doing well.
I had my final BT today to track HCG levels, so I hope this week they are where they are meant to be. Am seeing my OB this afternoon and very much looking forward to that, just to discuss the scan results, BT results, and ask questions etc.
Love everyone's avatars...I should get one too...
Possums good luck with the OB sweetie sure everything will be fine
Thanks TL...hope you are feeling well this week
Well... I'm back after several days away for a wedding and a surprise 70th birthday party out west and another two hour GTT this morning...
I knew about BG's news, but I'm so happy to come back today and see good news from Possums and Megan. It's such a huge relief!
I've got a lot of catching up to do, and a lot of resting and recuperating - I've had a severe hayfever flare up while we were away (half the family was having troubles yesterday), and the drugs I can take for it leave me feeling very dopey and sleepy.
I feel pretty ordinary, but Munchkin is happy as anything - all that sugar with the GTT and he's been kicking up one hell of a storm!
BW
hi ladies
possums - gl with OB appt this arvo - hoping you get some answers to your questions
as for me - was thinking yesterday that ms was supposed to get worse, not better, so early on - i'd had mega queasies early, but seemed to have to pretty under control - all i've had is low grade nausea... hmmm - WHY? why curse myself like that?? haven't actually been sick (due to luck and good control i think!) but have been running to the loo/grabbing a bucket so many times today! woke up fine, mildly queasy during shower, ate toast on the way to work like every day. ended up having to take maxalon at work after less than an hour - which was a bad omen to start, and just after i took it, got a tickle in my throat that just wouldn't quit! every cough was like a precursor to being sick - and for someone with an upchuck phobia, that's really not nice! spoke to my supervisor to get alternate duties (i work on the phones in a call centre and had been forced to hang up on someone to run to the loos just in case) - and while i was talking to her was nearly sick all over her, so i flexed off for the day, came home to bed for a while. feeling mildly more human now, but not much! doesnt help that i was struck down by the constipation fairy on the weekend, and yesterday finally got movement again, but went to the other extreme, so i'm paranoid about being sick and the pressure causing an oopsie! i'm so glad i'm pregnant, but not loving all this stuff going haywire with my bod!
Possums - GL with the OB today... can't wait to hear all about it!
BG - you poor thing! I had MS pretty bad from 6 weeks 3 days through until just before 12 weeks... so I feel your pain! I was also having to take Maxolon on a number of days just to make it work. Make sure you eat regularly even though you probably don't feel like it. The midwifes put me onto eating icy poles - which helped keep my sugar levels up when I wasn't able to eat. Also I was told that the main thing in the early part of pregnancy to ensure is that you are keeping hydrated. The OB told me that even if you are not able to eat much - that is not a concern. The little one will take what it needs from you, it just means that unfortunately you may feel like crap! But he said it is important not to get dehydrated. The midwifes told me to drink diluted juices (1/2 juice, 1/2 water) as for some reason I got an aversion to plain water early on!
And above all remember - MS is a good sign that things are going along well. And it does get better I promise you. I now feel on top of the world and very rarely even feel nauseous and have not been sick since about week 10.
:bellyrubs: to all you wonderful ladies!
Janie xxx
Possum, good luck with your OB today...how exciting!!
Janie, I just looked at your ticker and saw you over 15 weeks know...amazing
BG, no MS for me but the thought of throwing up always makes for me to call out for my mum. You would think at the age of 30 I would have grown up a little by now
Hope you are feeling better soon....
TL, love the new Avi
BW, welcome back and am glad to hear little Munchkin is kicking up a storm for you!!
Megan, congrats on your scan sounds like everything is going on schedule...
AFM, nothing new only 6 more sleeps till my first scan. I should be 6 weeks 3 days by then. I am so worried I feel like I can't get truly excited that I am finally UTD until I see a that heartbeat.
I don't seem to feel PG. I get some cramps from time to time during the day and the thought of chocolate and coffee still makes me want to gag!!
Anyway betta fly and do some work
:bellyrubs: to everyone :bellyrubs:
i've still been eating (thankfully) - just not loving the nausea side of things - i know if i could just throw up, i'd prolly feel better, but i can't seem to! i figure i'm almost 7 weeks now, so i have to expect to feel a bit crap - just wasn't expecting it to hit so hard so suddenly - a slight increase with some warning would have been nice! came home and slept a while this morning, have had some steamed rice, and about to go and find myself some toast for lunch. think i was asking for trouble when i agreed to have dinner with bro and his family last night - we normally have meat and three veg - but he decided to have pizza! uh oh!! pizza is definitely a no go for a while!
poor DH is at work, and worrying about me - i can't help but get upset when i feel sick - i hate throwing up! so i was talking to him and he could hear how distressed i was, and kept saying he felt so bad being so far away. he's called me twice just to check on me since i've been home...
can anyone suggest any other ways to keep ms at a minimum - at the moment, i have sea bands, blackmores ms tabs, and maxalon (this is the first time i've needed it in a fortnight). have ginger bikkies at work, wholemeal crackers, fruit tingles...
ETA - nicole - i called in at mum's for comfort on the way home! don't get along that well with her, but i needed SOMEONE - but she was getting ready to leave, so i stole a bucket for the car and had to drive the rest of the way home feeling all teary! d'oh!
I'm with Janie on the icy poles for m/s. Although not that appealing at the moment with the Melbourne weather! I had a bit of a Callippo addiction for a couple of weeks because it always helped settle my stomach after dinner when I have been feeling the worst. I have also heard lemon juice in water first thing helps the m/s. I have been having that for months before being pg though, so can't say if it's helped really...but I am rarely sick until the afternoon.
BG - other foods that helped my nausea were fries (potato), potato crisps - basically anything with potato in it - there were times when the only thing that got me through was potato... must be something to do with the carbs. The other was green apples - I have never eaten so many of them in my life!
Nicole - I know I can hardly believe it myself when I look at my ticker... I'm only 5 weeks off half way! My work trousers officially no longer do up over my belly as of yesterday! In some ways it seems to have taken forever, and in other ways it is just flying by. Don't worry about the no MS thing at this stage... mine hit me on the day of my first scan which was 6weeks 3 days (same as you!)... but hopefully you will be one of the lucky one's who doesn't feel sick at all. I agree with you about that first scan... I felt exactly the same way. Once you see that HB then it all sets home that it is actually real... It truely is one of the most amazing moments of my life seeing that HB for the first time.
Lots of :bellyrubs: to you all.
P.S. Loving how busy this thread has got... Come on all the girls in the LTTTC thread, lets keep up the recent trend of BFP's... we are dying to see you all over here... lots of :bluedust::stickyvibesgirl: to you all.
Janie xxx
Thanks for the nice words everyone...
BG- sorry you are feeling so sick, but at least it's a good sign that things are happening in there.
Janie- i too can't believe how far along you are...it seems like yday we were in the TWW together
and yes, come on LTTC ladies...get those BFPs happening and get over here :D
nicole-- not long now until your scan which is exciting and a bit nervewracking...
afm- just working and trying to get organised at work before i head out for my OB appt.
Also worrying because I don't have MS! lol I also find my BBs are more tender some does than others...do others find that?
funny you mentioned spud Janie - one of my friends had twins a few years ago, and she said that she only survived with thanks to potato! hadn't remembered that until you mentioned it... i've always been a bit of a potato girl, but had to back off with the low gi stuff - i figure i might see how i go with them again now - if it's something i can eat, i'll be happy!
Possums - with the boobs thing - some days (like today) mine hurt like hell - other days, i barely notice them! i seem to find they hurt worse on the days when the MS is worse - but i think that's just cos i'm feeling more sensitive on those days... i have had to go up a size in bra already, and yesterday i grabbed a couple more crop tops just so i'm not in underwires that don't fit properly!
BG- ...yes I bet everything hurts more when you feel so sick. Sweet that your DH is so worried about you. I hope your MS doesn't last for too many weeks.
Hi girls,
I hope you all had a great long weekend...mine wasn't so good.
My granny was diagnosed with bowel cancer a few months ago. She was operated on, recovered quite well, went home, backto hospital, started chemo (spelling?), cancer came back, ended up in a hospice.
I spent Friday and Saturday with her. Watching her unable to move on her own, barely able to speak, in pain, and still trying to crack jokes.
She died on Sunday morning.
I'm feeling sick and sad and i don't know how to make it better for the baby. I don't feel like eating and I'm worried that I'm hurting the little one.
Sorry to be a downer, but I'm just so sad at the moment. DH knows and has been great, but he's so busy at work and I don't want him to worry about me more than he already does.
Nic
Possum, on the BB thing. Mine are really only hurting when gravity hits them.
Mostly when I take my bra off and get in and out of bed.
As for the no MS i'm in the same boat as you maybe as Janie said we could be one of the lucky ones.
Nixon- sorry to hear that sad news...it can be so hard to see somoeone we love suffer, and still try and be strong and joke etc. It's really upsetting. Hope you are OK.
Nicole- yes, maybe we are the lucky ones re the MS...I guess we will all experience our pregnancies differently...will see what happens in the coming weeks. I suppose we are just always looking for signs that things are happening and OK.
Nixon, I'm so sorry for your tough weekend and the loss of your beloved granny.
BG, when it comes to pizza, I think it's pretty much off the menu while pregnant. Bad morning sickness in the early stages, bad heartburn/reflux in the later stages. I had a night of pizza hell while we were away - ugh!
One thing I forgot to mention earlier (but meant to!) was that with scans they are happy as long as you measure a week either side of your actual dates. Different babies tend to grow at different rates - we were spot on at 6 weeks, 4 days behing at 10 and 12 weeks, and are back to being spot on for size at 24 weeks. I've got a feeling that we'll start measuring ahead fairly soon judging by the way the bump seems to increase in size every day!
BW
BW- i figured as long as we were within a week - and had a HB, it's a good sign! the guy doing the scan really wasn't interested - he was p!ssed that he had to do an internal i think, cos i was watching him measure things (like the size of cyst on ovary) and he wasn't real accurate marking the borders... so given i noticed that, i don't really trust his Gremlin measurements
Nixon - i'm really sorry to hear about your Gran - remember you don't have a choice but to take care of yourself - even if you're just chowing down a piece of toast every few hours. it's emotionally draining (i lost my last grandfather at 99.5 a couple of months ago) - but i can guarantee your Gran wouldn't want you to neglect yourself in your grief.
Nicole and Possums - DON'T wish ms on to yourselves!! one of the girls on another IVF forum is due same day as me - she wished for mild nausea and ended up really sick yesterday - i then thought "ooh, why is she sick and i'm not" - hmmmm bad idea!
Nixon, I also meant to say our little babies are strong in there and in the first trimester especially they do OK even if we don't eat much (ie lots of people have severe MS but their little ones are fine, and I read that it's OK in the first trimester)...so if you feel too sad to eat too much, don't let that add to your worries right now. At least your gran is in a happy place now. Sorry again for your loss.
BW- interesting info re the scans thanks for sharing that...
Ladies- I am pretty shattered right now. My nurse just rang to say my HCG levels have not risen much this past week. She said she is very worried about me and the chance my baby will survive...a miscarriage is likely at this point, although she said sometimes hiccups can happen and things turn out OK...but she is still very concerned...she has already rung my OB with the results and he was also concerned. I'll probably have another scan again.
I can't bear the thought of losing this little one. I am at work and a mess. :crying:
Possums - GO HOME!! there is no point sitting at work fretting - if you go home, you can do your own thing, and not worry about how everyone else perceives you. contact the nurse again - find out what happens next. living in limbo of "we might need another scan" is a PITA - you need answers as to the next step, not maybes!
thinking of you hun
BG
Am going to OB at 4.15 pm today...he will tell me what next.
I just can't bear the thought of losing our baby
