Aw thanks Amy. I have to admit I was surprised by how big my belly is! Lol! And here I thought I wasn't growing! Had a squizz at your website. You've the most gorgeous proportionate bump. I feel huge compared to you!
And you're so wonderful to say that you can't see the stretchies. Hopefully they stay pale enough not to look like a map of North America!
Well, Dr's not in his office (what's new?) but have asked his receptionist to get him to call me back urgently. It's funny, I'm sitting here at the computer, and the stitch-like pain is starting again. I'm not even doing anything!
DH has just called me from work for the 3rd time since leaving this morning, wondering if I've spoken to anyone yet. Bless him, I think he's going to have a panic attack. He wants to come home and take me to the hospital if Dr doesn't call in 30 mins.
Sal, finding it hard to leave the computer without knowing what's going on. What's happening??

Sush, I second Amy - I see no stretchies, just a lovely rounded preggy belly with nice tatts! And Amy's belly looks like it's staying that nice rounded shape too, quite compact.
Well, contractions are getting to 5mins apart and quite painful, then they ease off for half an hour or so. DH is getting off work and coming home soon, so we'll go walking (in the rain) which seems to keep things happening. The spotting I have had the last two days is more approximating bleeding now. It's hard not to get excited, but I know that this stage could just go on and on. If things keep going, it may be that I join the Sushee club of 'on EDD' birth LOL.
I have a mobile number of another due in January gal, so I'll be SMS'ing her to let her know what's happening. I don't think she'll post in here, though, so you may need to watch the Due in January Buddy thread. The system falls down if she goes into active labour the same time as me, though!!!
Trish, not sure what time your appt was/is, but am thinking of you.
-
Actually, if you have a mobile Sushee or another Platinum Aussie-based gal (and are online now), if you PM me your number I'll SMS you, too.
Edited to add: my Jan buddy has just broken her waters and found them greeny and dark, so I'm worried she won't be around to bother with updating on how I'm going (she was planning a homebirth, but I'm wondering if meconium changes things for her labour).
So if someone wants to PM me, then you'll be able to find out how I'm going.
-
Thanks Sushee, I've sent you a txt back.
-
Sal, I just PMed you my mobile no. I was coming online to offer that very thing! Lol! I reckon the girls here will die of the suspense if none of us had a line to you!
Well just got a call from my Dr. He reckons as long as bub is kicking and I'm not bleeding, leaking fluid or had a change in discharge, that it's likely my round ligaments having a hard time coping with my (his words) "impressive girth". He reckons, yes, I'm growing at a rate of knots and he's not surprised that I'm experiencing discomfort. He has advised me to stop long walks, to try more gentle water exercises, maybe a support belt and wants me to see the hospital physio. He also thinks maybe after all that, it may just be one of those things you have to put up with, which may mean little sleep for me for the next 13 weeks.
DH is on his way home now. He won't let me drive myself now (oh dear) and he reckons he can't concentrate at work knowing I'm feeling under the weather.
Sal, just got your sms. We're cooking with gas now!

Sushee, I forgot to mention that I got those stitchy pains too, they wind me! And also only on the left-hand side. I'm sure you don't need to worry, but it's good that you'll see your obs for reassurance.
Oh and I got hold of Jillian's mobile number, so she will keep the Jan gals updated. I'll SMS you both.
Ooh DH home now, lots of walking so that we get things really moving!
-
Oooohhhh - this is getting exciting \:D/ \:D/
Sush - I'm sorry to hear about your pain. I'm sure you don't want to be hearing how you may have to "just put up with it". And I think your girth is gorgeous - I've looked and looked and can't see any stretchies.
-
Sal - LV to you honey - this is so exciting I will be glued to computer rest of day. I hope you friend is okay. You might be birthday buddies.
Sushee - ouch at the stretchy pains - will go to check out your gorgeous belly pics asap.
What time do you go to bed ? or will you be staying up late to post us Sal's news if bub comes today.
We had 12wk scan today too and all is well .Thank you everyone for thinking of me. I was so anxious I could ahve cried when the first thing she showed us was heartbeats -said that is what everyone wanted to see first.
The sonographer was excellent (maybe being pregnant herself) and took heaps of pics for us and explained and showed us everything on each bub - heart/brain/ each arm/hand/ leg/foot etc. Showed us in 3D too - we could see one twin sucking their thumb.Amazing the detail.
Then told us not to show anyone the pics in waiting room because normally only print 2-3 pics.
Can't video tape at Hospital so maybe will have 18wk privately and they will left you videotape.
The d/s risk was lowered considering my age the measurements were great.
Had the bloods done too.Now to wait for BT results -not that I will ever consider an amnio - plus DR today said an amnio was difficult with twins. My scan was good anyhow so not worrying.
-
Just having a sneak peak at what is going on in here. Sounds like some exciting news with Sals birth being just around the corner. Trish, I am so glad to see everything is going really well and I can only imagine how anxious you must of been having the u/s.... i think of you often, and hope I can leave the 'dark side' of bb to make it to the bright side (here) and join everyone else...
Love to everyone

Hi there,
I haven't posted here for a while, feeling a bit ambivalent still. I have my first u/s tomorrow, will be 6wks and 6 days, and am now starting to worry that something will be wrong. Everything so far has been good, except for the all day sickness, would rather just throw up ](*,) but no unusual cramping or spotting.... I can't wait until I find out. Anyone else go through similar feelings prior to their first u/s?
Cheers,
Didge
-
Didge
good to see you in here - and yes I put my hand up - I worry every time I have a scan.
The all day sickness and no other symptoms is GOOD !
Thinking of you for tomorrow -when you find out how many bubs on board too.
Leis - hope you will be joining us very soon sweet - [-o<
-
Trish, that's wonderful about the u/s result. Hoping to see bub pics.
Didge, yep I was a wreck before my 6w u/s, I was sure I had a blighted ovum (for no particular reason). Good luck for tomorrow, not that you'll need it. Please feel less ambivalent after the u/s and keep posting with us here.
OK I'm having some more ouchy contractions, but they are still 5mins apart, so am not going to hosp just yet. I couldn't bear to drive all the way to Lismore (30mins on highway) to be examined and told I'm only 1cm dilated and to go home and come back later!
Hi Leis, good to see you around, I sort of lurk a little in the LT TTC forum and know you are going to have an op fairly soon. I really hope that that is all that is holding you back from taking your (being kept warm) seat in this forum.
-
Sal - have you called them just to ask ?
mind you I have no idea :smt102
I am going to have c/s - so I will miss all this - keep us posted
I have to find old, ancient scanner and see if can work it on one of my computers (since changed computers)
Our other excellent HP scanner/printer went to repairer for a 'printer' problem and came back totally b*ggered - after 4 months. The printer part was too expensive to fix but he stuffed the scanner too while he had it.It was only just out of warranty too and we had paid a fortune for it.
We bought another printer but I would have just kept other for a flatbed scanner - it could scan/ resize / reduce etc and very good quality.
I don't think digital camera would work taking photo of prints. :-k
If that doesn't work :smt102
-
Thanks Trish and Sal,
Thank you for your reassuring words, I've been worrying that they'll find nothing in there. I've been reading a bit too much on blighted ovums I think.... 8-[
Thanks again,
Didge
-
Trish, bummer about your scanner. You've got to get those pics up somehow!
Didge, if you've been surfing the net about what can go wrong in early pg, you'd be as nervous a wreck as I was! I found something at every stage of my pg that could be going wrong 8-[
Yes, DH called the hosp while I was having a strop about the contractions slowing down. Apparently for a first birth it's textbook. I just have to wait for them to start up again. I suppose I should just count my blessings that something is happening, albeit not as quickly as I'd like it.
-
YAAAAAAYYYYYYYY TRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best news ever!! You must be so relieved.
Didge - I was wondering how you were going. Don't worry ... I so understand the morning sickness and the ambivalence. Mine bordered on downright disinterest for a while actually to the point where I thought there must be something wrong with me because I just couldn't get into this pregnancy thing at all. I know it is not much help to you at this point, but these feelings do pass eventually. I hope your scan brings wonderful news and that you can relax a little afterwards.
Sush - You poor thing with the pain. That must be terrible the way it is at the moment. It's good you're going to the physio though. I saw one this week and she was great. She's given me one of those elastic brace things and taped my back up (literally) and it has made all the difference. I hope it works for you too. I love your belly shot too and not a stretchie in sight.
Sal - I would have offered you my mobile but I'm living in the dark ages and don't have one! Now that you are in touch with Sush, we know we will be kept up to date on all events. Events which sound rather ... imminent!
Humphrey - I hear you on the egg and bacon sandwich. I used to crave one every morning when I got out at the train station. There is a cafe at the top of the escalators that did quite a lot of business with me in the first trimester, I can tell you.
Leis - there is a seat here for you whenever you need it!
Love to all ... hope you are all travelling well.

Hi all,
firstly, congratulations Trish on a great scan! I'm trying to think of a way to get your pics onto your puter without a scanner....
Secondly, Sal this sort of pre-labour may be horrible, but every little bit helps and it means when you actually hit established labour, it's not likely to take hours! I am being vigilant with my phone, girls, and I promise I will post something as soon as I know myself.
Mel, snap! I called the physio for an appt and the first thing they also suggested was a support belt. DH was sent out for one and I put it on as soon as I got it. Initially bub hated it, it seemed, kicking at the belt until I adjusted it that little bit looser (heehee!). Then, miracles of miracles, with it on, I actually managed to sleep without pain for 2 hours! Only on my right hand side though, still twinged on my left hand side, but omg I got some sleep!
I don't know if this relief is temporary (please god no) but I'm accepting any rest I can get while I can. DH has ducked out to the gym but has promised to bring me home some lovely dinner and wants me to just rest. I could get used to this life.....
didge, good luck for your scan, my sweet. I nearly cried from relief when the Dr reckoned he could see that little heartbeat on my first scan. Mind you, I couldn't see a thing! I'm sure everything will be just fine. Stop surfing the internet!

Hi all,
I just read in "messages from BellyBelly" that this site is likely to go down sometime tonight for 12+ hours, so Sal, if you sms me I'll try to get on and let everyone know, but depending on the probs with the site, it may be much later than when I'm told the good news, everyone!

Scanner won't work on computer - tried downloading drivers and all.
Will check out a new one - since most of my scans I will get same pics and not allowed to video them. It is our wedding anniversary in 3 weeks and I think it must be an electrical present this year.
Glad you are getting some relief Sushee at last
You too Mel relief from back pain
Sal - bring on the Labour Vibes for you - due date tomorrow and all.
-
Sal, can't wait to hear more news.
Jo, hope ur doin ok.
Sush, ouch on the pain, but good to hear bub is ok & the belly belt is giving some relief (preferably more). Yay on the preggy belly, like the others said, where r these stretch marks? :-)
Trish, great news on ur scan, can't wait to c some pickies. For my first scan, I took digital photos of a photocopy, was a bit blurry, but did the trick.
Didge, ur definitely not alone in worrying, actually if u weren't then u might be the only one, hope u get some fantastic news... :-)
Amy, not long til Amy watch starts... :-)
-
Trish ~ i am so glad your scan went well \:D/ i am so excited for you
if you check out my www all the photos of bub are digital photos taken of the scan pictures including the one in my signiture hope that helps

Hi girls, well a torrid and sleepless night for me. The contractions slowed down during the night and so did the bubs movement, so just got back from the hosp and having bub monitored. He is fine, they sent me home, they expect me back sometime in the nearish future (though they did say that this stage may take a couple of days for a first-timer, so I may have a wait yet). Sushee, I hope you're right about established labour coming on more quickly...I figure my body parts have warmed up now LOL. Not sure about this bub being punctual and arriving on due date...will keep you posted or will SMS Sush if I can't come to the computer. Two sleepless nights in a row...I know I should get used it now, as that's what's in store for me pretty soon in any case!
-
Hey Sal - You must be a bit frustrated but I agree he's probably just slow and steady, you'll get to the business end no probs and he'll just slide out cause you've done all this work now! Positive vibes to you and waiting very patiently for your wonderful news!! Sounds like you're coping great.
P.S. My hypbirth cd's arrived today so I'm going to start on them.
Trish - Great to hear your wonderful news, hope you can relax and enjoy your precious bubs just a little bit now. Looking forward to seeing the piccies, sounds like you have some great shots of them.
Sush - I need to update my belly shot, I am starting to feel pretty massive though. Maybe you've just done all your growing early and from now on you'll just stay the same size?? Either way I'm so glad to hear you're getting some relief from the belly belt, I'm finding it impossible to get comfortable most of the time but no pain. Yay that your DH is looking after you so well though, that helps ALOT!!
Didge - I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we've all felt that fear before the first scan, it does get a little better though! Hope you join us in here permanently!
Shell - Yes Amy watch is not far off!! We have to go off to Dunedin (3 hour drive) next week to have a scan with the specialist as apparently they still couldn't see part of the placenta so hopefully all will go well there.
Love and hugs to everyone.
-
Hi there!
Well I had the u/s this morning, and it's :baby: :baby: !!!
We saw their little heart beats, so tiny. Good news is that they're on track at 6wks 6days which is reassuring.
Thank you to all you girls yesterday who made me feel more positive...I won't be surfing the net about any problems from this point on, too hairy ;)
Trish - That's excellent news about your scan results - glad you had a lovely sonographer as well.
Sal - May I ask when you're due? Sounds like it's soon from what I've read - best of luck!
Hi to everyone else, I'm sure I'll get to know you all soon enough!
Cheers!
Didge

Didge,
congrats on the twinnies! How exciting!! OMG this place will be filled with them soon!
Sal, I slept like a log again last night (Yay!), and woke up this morning with a start thinking I missed your sms! I've been told on many an occasion that the longer your pre-labour is, the shorter your established labour will be. My mob phone is near, as I expect that soon things are going to hot up for you, and how!
Hello all you lovely ladies and hope you are all well. You guys are so nice to say you can't see the stretchies, but trust me, they are there. Just not dark coloured this time, so probably not as obvious on the photo. Amy, can't wait to see an updated belly shot! Also can't wait for Amy-watch to start!
Jo, thinking of you and really hoping things are okay.
Better get to work but will be lurking all day.

Sal, more LV, hopefully today is the day.
Didge, awesome, double congrats. Now lets see, that's 6 sets of twins (hope I haven't missed anyone): Tiff, Tam, Jo, KellyW, Trish, Didge.
Shazz, u'll be down to double digits Mon, wow, thats great.
Hmm, no real BH today for me, been getting 1-4/hr usually for last few wks, so long as not 5mins apart, obgyn said.
-
Didge - that's so wonderful!!!! Congratulations honey. Gosh, I feel a bit boring with my little lonesome bub.
I do hope you're not suffering too much Sal. Lack of sleep is a killer when you need every ounce of energy you can get. Hopefully it's all (or nearly) over and you are holding your precious boy in your arms.
-
Didge CONGRATS on twins!!! Awesome, and even better that you're going to stop surfing the net to find out what can go wrong, just try and relax and enjoy your pg as much as possible! Oh, I'm due today. Not going to happen.
Well, I am still having contractions (quite ouchie ones), some lasting up to 90s, but there is no steady pattern of timing, so STILL have not gone to the hosp. Grrrrrr if I have another torrid night like last night then I will be one grumpy mum-to-be tomorrow. The midwives said this can last a couple of days...well, it'll be a couple of days come 2am...
Amy, that's great that you're starting the hypbirth cds. I haven't put my training into active use yet, but I'm hoping that I will get good results. Anyhow will let you know soon enough (if the bub decides to fully dislodge himself).
-
Wow Sal, the time has come! Doesn't seem long ago since I ws sharing your excitement of the two lines on a stick.
I stayed at home for about 36 hours having irregular contractions and went in when they got too much and to my surprise I was 4cm dilated! They said I had done all the hard work already! Not quite true, but they say those first 4 cm take the longest. I agree with what Kelly said in the other thread - stay home as long as you can, as the whole hospital thing is much less more stressful.
I will be thinking of you and sending strong labour vibes to make it all happen soon.
-
Didge, congratulations! What excitement! This place is right little twin factory at the moment! Glad you feel a bit more reassured.
Speaking of twins, I wonder how Jo is going? Hope everything is okay.
Sal - I hope that Anney is right and that you will get a pleasant surprise when you do get to hospital eventually! I've been thinking about you all day. Hope you are bearing up well.
Anney - how are you pet? Hope things are well with you.
Sushee - yay on the full night's sleep!
Amy - good luck with the hypnobirth CDs and I hope your scan next week is all good re the placenta.
Babydreams - will check out your photos. Those 3D ones are amazing ... what a bonus!
Would you believe I'm having a Suimin for dinner because I was just too knackered to cook? It must be nearly Friday ...
Love to all,
Mel

Hi Everyone,
I have an update on Jo.
She is still in hospital being monitored as her bp is up and down at the moment and I think they are still finding that pesky protein too! She is a bit restless I think but all in all, they are keeping a very good eye on her and the twins.
The twins are doing well, still safely tucked up inside mum and the smaller twin has put on about 1lb this week so that is really good news. They are hoping they can stay put for a while longer but it sounds like they are all doing as well as they can be.
Thought you would like to know! Will keep you informed of any further updates.
-
thanks for the update on Jo, Yvette - let her know we are all thinking of her and the bubs
-
Trish try your local photo shop. They'd be able to scan it onto a cd for you but it may be a bit pricey.
Didge congrats on the twins =D>
Sal hope you have babe in arms very soon!
-
Sal - how are you today ?
-
Hi all,
I got an sms from Sal last night about 6pm WA time (what's that? About 9pm EAST?) to say they were on their way to the hospital. I was out so couldn't log on to let everyone know. So far no news about what's happening, though I'll have my phone near!

Didge - congrats on your twins!! You're sure to get heaps of very helpful advice in here as we have precious twins everywhere!
Well just awaiting Sal's news!!
