the all day class was good for us. A lot of it I already knew having delivered children before, but the second half, which covered parenting and coping with lack of sleep and settling baby, I found wonderful. I quite liked doing it all in one day, and though it was quite full on, I don't think anything was left out, nor did the midwife gloss over anything. Quite happy all round.
We even had a little play with the equipment in the birthing room, got a bounce on the fitballs and got to ask some indepth questions about the hospital's policy on active birth (they encourage it) so altogether worth the day.
So if you want to do an all-day class, go for it. Good luck too for tomorrow, I'm sure it's going to be so exciting to see the babies again!
Amy, I can't believe you're still around. Okay, so my 'feeling' was completely wrong! Lol! I can't wait to hear about how you go.
Cailin's little man arriving is wonderful news and I must go post congratulations in the birth announcements.
I think I will go for all day course - not that I know it all or will need but easier in long run. I agree with you the parenting and coping with lack of sleep and settling baby is what I need to know too.
BB has taught me so much and the c/s birth stories - very interesting read.
So hard now fitting in all DS's activities around us and homework - getting there for 5 weeks might be more difficult.
I agree with you. Organising dinners for my kids for 4 weeks while I went to evening antenatal classes was going to be too hard too. One day was nice and quick.
Amy, I'm going to PM you my mobile number. If no one else has offered yet, I'd be very happy to post your birth annoucenment when your little man arrives!
Just sms me back to let me know you received it and that the communication lines are open!
Sushee -
do you know any WA places who do 4D ultrasounds - Tulip from July BB is interested in another scan - I know you are Queen of knowledge maybe you can help her. She is worried too because she hasn't felt baby move much.
Just wanted to wish Trish all the best for her ultrasound today. I know someone else was having one too but now I can't remember who. ](*,) Damn pg brain. Good luck to you as well and I'm sorry it's slipped my mind.
Amy - thinking of you and hoping everything is well.
I will check in later to see how things are going for everyone.
Happy B'day Amy & Mel.
Labour vibes to you Amy. :-)
Congrats to Cailin, I'll go check out the birth announcements. Alicia, hope bub eases up on the strength of those kicks for u. Trish, good luck for ur scan today, hope both bub's aren't too shy. :-)
Trish good luck for your scan today! Justine, you're not far behind are you?
Trish, I went to Attadale Hospital to have my 4D scan, but I do know that you have to be referred there, you can't go privately. The best part was that Dr Murphy at Attadale did the 4D scan without me having to ask, plus didn't charge me extra!
I believe that only Attadale and and SJOG Subiaco have the machines, but don't quote me. I will see if I can find Tulip to let her know.
Ooooh Trish - where are you?? I'm busting to see how you went.
I'll have an interesting day tomorrow. Firstly my scan then straight after I'm dropping DS off for the 1st time at a day care (only an hour to start). He's going to freak out - he's very clingy atm - I'm sure he can sense some competition happening. Very nervous about the whole thing.
We had our scan -we were first up but the U/S guy was late. We were wondering what was happening :-k - then heard receptionist ringing his partner - worrying her from the conversation we heard.
Then she heard him at back door -runs back to tell the person on phone.
An accident had closed one of two main roads and he had to turn around and go long way.
He was same guy who did Charlotte's 18wk scan and others , did our first twin one too. He told us he had been doing lots of twins 2-3 a week (and most IVF). Very experienced guy.
Half way thru had to wee to see if twin 2(or B) would move into better position to see heart - no - so we had to go for a walk and come back in 10 mins. Lucky the lady after us (40wker) had her bub on w/e so appointment was cancelled.
Both bubs kept putting hands in front of their faces - so didn't get good face shots. Maybe in 3-4 at next scan. They even emailed me a few pics but not clear.
.... and it is :boy: :boy: couldn't miss it .
Went back to work. Then I had to wait till after 12 to back home to get my computer - busting to tell you guys.
