Sushee -LV
Hi all,
I don't know if anyone else was going to update you guys, or even Mel herself, but I know everyone's hanging out for news, so I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds here.
I got an sms from Mel this morning saying that she's been booked in for a c/s tomorrow, which was her choice as her cervix is not showing any signs of ripening.
What a lovely day for Wilmartin to come into the world!
love
sushee
wishing her all the best wishes in the world \:D/ can't wait to hear how it all goes
Yes she told me that she wanted C/S too and I would do same if I was in her shoes and I am planning a C/S myself
Goodluck Mel -thinking of you and HOORAY you get to meet William tomorrow
I am so glad BB is back
Oooh good luck to Mel for tomorrow.
GL for tomorrow Mel
Woohoo Mel, best of luck tomorrow. \:D/
Sushee, how are you?
Afternoon ladies.
We saw bubs last Friday and all is great, we hopefully find out the gender of bubs on the 9th. I have lots of flutters now which is really reassuring, oh and a big (and growing) belly. Very exciting.
Magic,
hoping that bub behaves for you at the u/s and you get to see what flavour it is!
As for me (for anyone who didn't use the test site while BB was down) I saw the midwives yesterday who confirmed that bub is 2/5th engaged, is very firm in my pelvic cavity, with nearly no movement allowing, and because of this, I have been experiencing a fair bit of discomfort when I walk. There's also a lot of pressure on my cervix and bowel, which is causing a bit of pain.
So I've been told to rest loads, lying down to ease the pressure off my nether regions, and to store up energy for labour, which is - hopefully - going to occur spontaneously very soon.
So I stayed in bed all day yesterday, but today decided to stay on my feet, bugger the pressure, to help bub along. Hoping it works!
I knew that between Shell, Mel and me, I was going to be last. Just hoping I'm not too far behind Mel! Lol!

So excited for Mel, such a long wait for Mr WillMartin.
Hope it all goes well, take care.
Sushee, maybe WillMartin coming is your button to start too, your little bubba is just waiting their turn.
Take care all, it's an exciting time for everyone!
Mel - Wishing you all the best for the c/s tomorrow, I know you'll do great! Yay - you'll be meeting your little 'un \:D/
Sush- Hopefully it's not too much longer...rest up!
Excellent to hear a new arrival will arrive shortly! Good luck Mel!
Good luck for you too Sush! You sound more than ready to go.
Sheree - great news on lots of movement from bubs - nothin beats it does it?
Shazz - you're up after Sush I guess.
Then guess who's next - you TRISH!!!! OMG wow  (of course there's a wee lull in the proceedings before you pop pop honey)
Justine the race is definately on i am being induced on the 18 th April and they did a stretch and sweep yesterday so i have already had a show and lost the plug thingy and have been having contractions on and off since about 30 mins after they did the procedure so it a matter of waiting now
Shazz, hunny, you may go before me even! My doctor refused to let the midwives do an internal yesterday as he wanted me to 'go on my own'. I haven't yet lost my show or had any regular contractions, so I think I'm a little further behind than you are!
count your blessing's sushee i am so wishing that they hadn't have done the S&S now even though i was already nearly 3 cm dilated i had another 12 hours of intense 2 - 4 mins apart of contractions straight after they did it i have fully remembered what labour is like now and i must say i am crappin' myself 8-[
Sush, thanks so much for updating everyone. This is the first chance I've had to log in! Have been in touch with Hayseed also so she will let you know all the details after tomorrow's momentous event.
Thank God it's almost over is all I can say. I was momentarily shocked but that only lasted five minutes. Now I'm just relieved.
Thank you all for your good wishes and I'll be back soon with pictures.
Take care till then and Sush - LABOUR VIBES!!!
Love and other bruises,
Mel
Mel,
glad to see that you've managed to get on here and know that we're thinking of you. We will await Hay's update tomorrow with bated breath!

Crikey Shazz! It's all happening isn't it? I'm with you on the labour thing - knowledge is a baaaaad thing....
Hhhmmmmm the S&D doesn't sound like it's "up my alley" (hehhehehe). WOW Shazz you seem really close too LV sent your way. =D>

Sheree - not long to find out the sex then... I get blue vibes from you. Bet that big growing belly is reassuring.
Sush - I reckon the 18th is your day my sweet. And the pink vibes are strong from your sector. Cant wait to see....
Mel - GOOD LUCK with tomorrow and finally getting to meet your Will Martin! Will keep looking to see how you are going..
Skye - thanks for keeping my seat warm. Hope I slide over very very soon, with so many leaving here I plan to drag over several others... I have my eye on Anne and Tam.... Hard to believe you are already past the 14week mark!
Shazz - OMG! Didnt even realise just how close you were! OOoooohhh it is just SO very exciting in here right now!
Hey did you guys hear that Gwyneth Paltrow had a baby boy and named him - no, not banana - but "Moses". Interesting.... not sure what I think of that one....
I promise that I will post AS SOON AS I GET THE PHONE CALL!!!!!!!
I'm so excited!!!!!
Best of luck Mel, you must be absolutely beside yourself with excitement. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!!!! xx
Sushee - Hope the pain/pressure eases up for you xx
Shazz - I'm tipping you will be joining Mel in announcing your precious bubs arrival tomorrow. I really hope so. Best of luck xx
Sheree- Glad all is going well. Don't you just love those movements, it's such a magic time. xx
Well, I had an appt with my ob yesterday and all is going really well. He has booked me in for a c/s on the 14th of June... 9 weeks away. I have made the executive decision to finish work earlier than I first planned. I will work another 2 weeks after this one and then have a year off. It is such a great relief to have that end so close, especially as I have quite a high stress job and am really exhausted.
Anyway, hope everyone else is going really well and I'm so glad that we are up and running again. I've been having withdrawals, even though we had the temp forums, it just wasn't the same.
Love to all and once again best of luck to Mel!!!!!!!
Alicia xx
Ooooooh Sush, not long for you...you either Shazz!! Oh I'm just so excited for the lot of you.
Sush, I was looking at your website and saw your tatts! They look great on your preggie belly!!! I know it was asked before, but did they stretch?? Cause if they did, those butterflies have probably turned into emperior moths!!! LOL :cryinglaugh:
Hello ladies nice to be back :)
Good luck to everyone getting ready for babies! Cant wait to hear news \:D/
No news on Mel yet...............
Thanks for keeping us posted Hayseed!
Hopefully we hear some news really soon :p
I'm a bit excited for Mel!!!
Shazz - How are you going?
Hi Carrie ~ i'm still here hanging in there contractions have slowed right down but Sorry for TMI i'm still a bloody show a bit but we will see how the day goes
thanks for the labour vibes girls keep them coming
Morning chicks,
aww no news on Mel yet? Hayseed, I shall be stalking your posts all day now! Lol!
I'm still here too. Ouch BHs last night 10 mins apart from 5pm to 11pm, then they went to 11mins, then 12mins, then 15mins by 2pm, so I knew it wasn't it and went to sleep. Frustrated and a little over it, I have to admit. I actually am starting to think you may be right, Keen, that it'll be the 18th! Lol! A red letter day for us both!
Seeing my ob tomorrow. Hopefully will get an update on where I am with all this.
Loads of LVs to you, Shazz!
love
sushee
*runs around like a headless chook*
OMG I didn't even realise BB was up & running again! :cheer:
I have been trawling the test forum for news on everyone & in the meantime have missed 3 pages of chatter here
So excited for Mel, can't wait for the news & so glad I made it back here in time!!
Sush & Shazz thinking of you girls! Sush you will have to teach me the difference between a BH & a contraction...I am scared I won't know the difference! 8-[
Waiting, waiting..........
Truckloads of LV for you Shazz.....
And as for you dear Sush - this has to be a quick labour for you, your body has been getting loads of practice in. By the way, has your mum left yet ;)
No she hasn't. But I figure if I have baby tomorrow or the day after, I'll be in hospital 3 days and by the time I'm out, she'll be two days away from when she leaves! <<maniacal laugh>>
Skye, as far as BHs go, when I had Zaki, I had them everyday from 3pm to about 9pm for two weeks prior. I knew they were BHs coz they petered out at about 9pm. On the day I actually had Zaki, XH came home from work sick with the flu at 3pm and the BHs had just started up. He asked if I thought it was the day, and I said no, just BHs again. But then they continued past 9pm. At 11.30pm I got a bout of the runs, and at 12 midnight I had a show. By the time I had the hospital on the phone, the pains were getting to a point where I had to concentrate through them. I had Zaki at 4am that same morning.
So I figure I won't miss the big day, coz the contractions get sooooo much worse before you actually have the baby. Everything before having to concentrate through the contraction are just BHs. ;) My labour was technically only 3 hours.
Justine, I keep telling myself that too, that my body is doing all the preps now and it'll be a short, sharp labour. It's the only way I stop myself from going mad! Lol!

sushee
Hey Sush who is your labour buddy????
Labour buddy? If you mean who's going to be there with me, just DH, who's been practising his 'empathic' face in the mirror lately.
OK girls..... she's delivered!!!!! =D>
Mel gave birth to William Bowles Martin at 6.58am and he weighs 9lb 5oz (a nice size!). I just spoke to Jeff and he said that they are both fine and he got to cut the umbillical cord (he sounded very chuffed!). Both mummy and bubby are resting at the moment. Her c-section went very well.
I've posted in the birth announcements for you to leave messages of congrats for Mel!!
Happy day!!!!
Now.......Sush. Get a wriggle on girl!!
Yay Mel! I'll go post my congrats in the birth annoucements!
And I'm trying to get a wriggle on! Lol!
