Pregnancy after LT TTC #10

I had that type of pain in my left side which would be in my ovary and travel around to the back.Mine was due to the fact that the left ovary was where they removed my 5 eggs so it was tender up until about 10 weeks when the placenta started to take over.i also have PCO so may have had some small cysts.No pain since then though.If worried,give your ob a call to reassure you but sounds like that is what it is.

Sammiejamm~ My heart goes out to you.I have suffered from anxiety and depression since i was 14.When i had my son Connor,i was 19 and although my pregnancy was fine,i ended up with minor PND and didnt bond with him til he was 4 months old.I am so worried it will happen with this bub as i have days where i feel out of control.I went to slap my husband the other day in the carpark,because he was arguing about the stupid car!I cry and am very emotional and yet i,like you,am completely in love with my baby and desperate to hold him/her but feel like i want to kill my hubby.Yesterday i was staring at him and he said 'why are you looking at me like that'.... you know what i said?.... 'you have put on so much weight,your head is the shape of a butternut pumpkin!!!:shakehead:

I dreamt lastnight he ran off with his receptionist,Miriam....He doesnt even HAVE a receptionist..he is a builder and doesnt know any miriams.
Hormones make us all a bit nutty.Try and focus on the positives when things get you down or go and do something which is relaxing.Sitting in the sun,reading a funny book and even some meditation should help.Hope your feeling better today.xxxxx

AFM I have my 19 week scan this afternoon.The fetal anomaly scan.Im praying that bub is well and that there arent any problems.We are going to find out the sex today too,thats if the cord isnt in the way again. Im guessing Peanut is a boy...Omg im so in love with him/her.I love watching and feeling him kick.Im amazed.

Sammiejam -=- Sorry to hear your going through depression.. I went through antenatal depression with my son and just felt like every day dragged on and like I was so alone and angry at everyone. I think one of the best things to do is get out of the house as much as you can and surround yourself with all of your family and friends as much as you can too.. The more distracted you are and more you enjoy your friends and that the more you might start to feel better.. At least thats what helped with me. The anxiety is the worst and the nesting becomes like this huge job that is never done right and it feels like the house is soo dirty even when uve spent all day scrubbing.. Good luck hey I really hope the feeling starts to lift soon and Im glad you have ur family and friends and of course DH's support now..

Miss K -=- I had the same sort of pain in the early weeks.. and it made me crazy after having two misscarriages previously.. But Im still here :) hope all is ok hun xx

London Miss -=- Oh you poor thing sounds awful. I had a bit of a tummy bug yesterday but its completely lifted now.. Get loads of rest and take care of yourself and your lil bundle! <3

AFM -=- I had my baby shower on Sunday. It went so well and we all had so much fun. All my gfs were so thoughtfull we went out and bought all this food and then each of them turned up with a dish as well! They brought such yummy things too like chocolate rolls with ganache and cream through the middle, and homemade mini quiches and zuchinni slices, bikkies dohnuts.. I think I put on about 3 kilos that day HAHAHA!!

We got heaps of stuff too bub now has this beautiful thick sleeping bag with little girraffes and hippos on it.. a fluffy snuggle blanket with a lamb at the top to cuddle and teething thingys on the sides.. an adoreable lil self propping up silver album that you can flip through like a calender sitting on our microwave.. some cute lil frames, toys, outfits, about 7 litres of baby soaps and shampoos and a kilo of cotton buds hehehe.. 4 boxes of wipes.. even DS got a big brother present (which was really for us too haha) it was a lil monkey bag he wears on his back that has a little strap at the back i can put around my wrist or the pram so if he pulls his run out in the carpark habit when I have newbie in the pram he wont be getting too far!

We played baby bingo and this necklace game where throughout the whole day you wernt allowed to say the word baby.. and if someone does you have to catch them out and take there necklaces.. It was so funny cuz by the end of the day one of the girls had just about all of them and she said "well im going to go pick up my baby" as she was heading out the door and another gf scored them all HAHAH! Everyone wrote down there guesses as to what the sex is/ birth date and weight. Funnily enough there were 15 guesses and not one of them thinks its a boy lol so either they are all right or not one of them is :p

I highly reccomend a baby shower! It was sooo much fun and really got us excited about having bub. I washed all bubs hospital clothes and blankets the next day and the bassinet matrees covers then I packed my labour bag and the hos bags for the stay so everything is in place now and it really is just a waiting game from here on in :D

Cant wait to meet my lil bundle :) We've decided to get out groovey nappy collection with some of the baby bonus as it starts to come in :) and probably a new fridge seeing as ours is one step up from bar fridge and were about to be a family of four! Five if you include pups! I couldnt believe it i got sooo clucky this last weekend I found myself even considering having a 3rd!! Have to keep slapping the thought out of my head as DH is dead set on stopping at two and we've already been through the fact that it will be our perfect number.. I know in my head that its true and I am probably just thinking irrationally cuz of all the cluckyness but I just keep on thinking about it hehehe.. But i musnt Im stopping at two for sure definately surely......

Well this is my first time in this thread, despite the fact that I am now 20 weeks pregnant!! I had every intention of moving over to this thread when we finally got our BFP, but for one reason or another, I just didn't. I lurk every now and then, so I thought it was probably about time that I actually joined in.

There are a lot that I don't know, but a few that I remember from LTTTC (Lise, LondonMiss, Mitf, Emerald Star), so I'm glad to see some familiar names.

I'm not even going to attempt personals as I will have to get my head around where everyone is up to first. So I will hopefully be able to contribute soon enough.

A bit about me - finally got our BFP in Nov 2009 after our 5th IVF cycle. I am now 20w2d pregnant today and I still can't believe it. We also had our scan yesterday and found out we'll be having a boy!!! DH and I are both very excited.

Think I might leave it at that for now, but will hopefully get to know everyone soon.

Well everyone...i had my BIG scan today.Bub is healthy and average sized.The feet are 3cm long and bub was giving us the thumbs up :thumbsup:before proceeding to suck its thumb...it was soooooooo adorable.My mum and DH were there and am so glad everything is looking great!!!

Anyhow....... I AM HAVING A LITTLE GIRL!!!!!! I am sooooo excited.I cant believe it! I thought Peanut was a boy...now i need a girl name.I only had a boys name chosen..LOL:dance::cheer::stork-girl:

Gee, i've missed out on alot...we are reloacating our business ( retail clothing store) and by the time i get home i have been to bugged to get on the computer...we had our scan on Monday and saw the heartbeat..it was amazing! now i have to move on to my OB..sad to be leaving all the nice ladies at the IVF clinic.

I secretly have always wanted a little girl but always thought i would have boys so it was a fantastic surprise.We are over the moon.peanut will be the 2nd girl in DH family's side.The first girl is almost 20 so it will be great news when she is born.(we are planning on keeping it a secret).

Regarding 3d/4d Ultra sounds,i thought this was interesting....
..... during my scan yesterday i asked i they did the 3d/4d scans and was informed the following:
The sonographer stated: 'those scans are highly frowned upon as there is not enough eveidence to prove they are safe.2d scans have been used for so long now and no reported side effects have been shown,wheras the 3d/4d scans are relatively new so there is no way of knowing of their safety.They only do them in very strict circumstances such as when they think that there may be an abnormality or defect.They are only for entertainment purposes and are not recommended for those reasons.
..... I thought it very interesting and decided against having one done.She said she could give us a 'quick' look,if we were really adamant,but she really disagreed with the idea.We didnt feel it was worth the risk.
I thought this was info that should be shared as i had previously had no idea that the scans can alter the growth/development of the fetus' cells.
I was very surprised about this.Just thought i would share xx

I feel so much better knowing that I am NOT the only one and that I am not losing the plot.

I did some research yesterday on what husbands go through at the end of a pregnancy. Aparently it is a very weird time for them. They are very in tune with the mothers emotions and start to mimick them ie, get very needy, want to be looked after themselves *sammie rolls eyes - TYPICAL * and this can play havoc on the mother. This is very common in couples that have been infertile prior to the preg. It even has a name, couvade syndrome. I think this is exactly what has been a main contributor to my depression. The man has been driving me nuts. Anyways, my sister called him last night and told him about what her DH did at the end of her pregnancies (he just totally lost it and was COMPLETELY USELESS) and my DH finally got a clue ;) He asked me to write a list of things that I want him to remember every day and he would do them. I think my sisters DH getting on the phone and saying to him "Its going to get ugly. More ugly than you can imagine. Just do EVERYTHING she says and smile while you do it. And dont ask her if you can stop for a burger on the way to the hospital. Whatever you do, dont do that." ( LOL this nearly caused a divorce)

I feel so much better today. I think maybe yesterday was a bit of a turning point for me. You girls were a bit part of that so again - thank you all so very very much.

Oh and TMI but a some of the plug came away this morning... should I do anything or just wait?

Lise - how in the name of God is your flight costing so much???? Are you going by private jet or something?! Via London and Paris and Monte Carlo? All I can say is make sure you get a points card before you go on that flight... if it's qantas you'll fly for years on that!

Sammiejam - that's actually quite scary. I think mine might have it already. On the subject of a show - I have no idea how much of a show a show is!! Did you ring the hospital? What did they say?

Wantbaby - I had an official scan last week and we had a short 3d scan without us asking for it or being told that info... I'm coming to the conclusion that insurance companies rule the world and that's why we're all getting so cautious about anything. I bet people said the same about 2d scans in the beginning! So I'm not sure, but interested if you hear anymore.

BOC - how bloody exciting! Only a few days to go... it's funny when I started here and I was 5 weeks, I simply could not comprehend being 20 weeks let alone 38. It's dead strange to be half way there already! Look after yourself for the next two weeks won't you. No running around!

Wantbaby - congratulations on your news.... that's wonderful. You must be pleased!

AFM. Well it's been a bit of a week for me. After the gastro/tiredness incident earlier in the week I've been taking it steady. Started getting pains in my stomach yesterday and still had them this morning, so I rang the RWH, and they told me to head in. I did, having sent off fussing DH who was on his way to the airport, and they checked me out. I was TOTALLY impressed with the hospital, and worth going for that reason alone! They had my file ready, I was in and out in an hour and my mind completely at rest. V glad I went, especially now I know that my pain is "normal" and I should just suck it up (that's not quite what they said but I paraphrase Biggest Loser style!). Then just been out with the team for lunch and we had a curry. I think I managed four mouthfuls before realising that 'the issue we don't mention' might be resolving itself .... in a curry house. Oh well. Even four mouthfuls have got little Miss kicking so that's good :redface: now I'm looking at the underside of my desk which looks very tempting for a two minute kip... hope you are all well and have lovely weekends ladies x

Wantbaby - How exciting that you're having a girl. I also have secretly wanted a girl for a long time, but am also very excited to be having a little boy. I'm sure I will be hoping and praying like crazy that for #2 baby, we have a girl.

Emerald Star - Congrats on the scan this week. It is so unbelieveably reassuring to finally see that little heartbeat so you must be ecstatic. Hope you are feeling well and not suffering too much from morning sickness.

BOC - How exciting that you only have a couple of weeks to go. Wishing you all the best.

Sammiejam - You are most certainly not the only one losing the plot. I have also had plenty of negative thoughts throughout the pregnancy so far. I'm just really paranoid in general, and am terrified that something bad is going to happen. Take care hun.

AFM - nothing much to report actually. Still plodding along. Have just started looking around at baby shops, and will hopefully look to buy the big things (pram, car seat, nursery furniture etc) in the next couple of weeks. It will be pretty exciting to get those things though because it might just start to feel real. I know that sounds pretty strange, but even at nearly 21 weeks pregnant, I'm still thinking that it's not really real. I was hoping to have being feeling a lot more baby movement by now, which probably hasn't helped my paranoia. Apparently my placenta is at the front though, so I've been told that could impact on the level of movement that I feel because basically the placenta could be in the way and may be cushioning any kicks from the baby.

Well anyway I'd better be off. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend.

Wishes~ Regarding the movements and the placenta,the fact that it is in the front WILL cushion your bubs movements.your little one will be kicking away so try not to worry.My peanut has been going strong since 17 weeks and my placenta is at the back so i feel everything but some days she is quieter so i just use my rented doppler to reassure myself.
Secretly wanting a girl too? I already have a son so now i will have one of each which is nice.My son is 12 and is my world.he is very,very close to me and i have heard that girls are closer to their dads until they are older.I look forward to making dolls for my daughter (im a doll artist) and sharing that interest with her,as i have had many years of matchbox cars,football,soccer,cricket,ant farms etc...hahahha.

LondonMiss - we're basically flying all over the country - from here to Vancouver to Calgary to Toronto to Halifax (so I can go to Prince Edward Island!) and then catching the train back through Montreal and Quebec City and flying back again to Vancouver. So a few flights there...!

BOC - wow, can't believe you'll be holding your little (or maybe not so little!) one in just over a week, so so exciting!!! Must be quite a surreal feeling to know the date your baby is going to be born!

Wantbaby - more pink :) There's certainly a few of us now after the big run of blue. And yes, there are so many gorgeous pink clothes out there, even DH likes buying little dresses etc!

Wishes - welcome on board, I wondered where you were!! Hope you have fun doing your big ticket item shopping! I'm still waiting for all my items to arrive, can't wait to set the nursery up.

sammiejam - it certainly helps a little doesn't it to know there are plenty others out there experiencing the same as you. Not in a nasty way, but just so you don't feel so alone and a bit crazy and abnormal.

Emerald Star - I was a bit sad too at having to leave my nice IVF clinic, but I like the staff at my OB just as much so you'll be fine ;)

kyra - hehehe, how can you be clucky when you haven't even had this one yet?! We'll remind you of this in a couple of months and see if you're still feeling the same way!

Hello to everyone else - apologies if i've missed you. Still no computer and scrolling back on my phone takes ages...

I've got my next OB appointment on Tuesday which i'm looking forward to as I have a few questions for her. Mainly, the last couple of days I haven't really felt the Chicklet moving around/kicking much which of course has had me completely worried so i've been Googling like a mad woman. Did anyone else have this at this stage? I'll be 25 weeks tomorrow. She has moved a little, just not much in comparison to before. But then I have an anterior placenta which I understand is supposed to 'hide' most of the movements so not sure what's going on. Anyway, i'll be glad to ask my OB and see what she thinks.

Otherwise i've been busy playing with my new camera! You might remember I was lusting after one recently, and with DH working incredibly long hours the last couple of weeks i've had heaps of time to research, and last week decided to bugger it and buy one. I lurve it, though I really don't know how to use it properly so i'm tring to read all about it!

Morning all. I'm back at work (all together now BOO HISS) but on the up side I am feeling fine this morning, and even better the boss isn't here. Thank goodness the doc was right about the temporary pain! I could not have done that for four more months.
Not too many personals, but Lise - what camera did you get? I'm definitely going to get a new one before Little Miss G arrives and am interested in any feedback you have. My mum's just bought a new one and it's broken after three months, so def not that one!!
Now def tmi alert. I just don't think it is possible that I could fart much more than I am at the moment. It's as if 95% of my total body weight is made up of it at any one time... PLEASE tell me that it's not just me... are you all being polite??
Lise/ wishes - must be a bummer having the placenta at the front, although better than being at the bottom I suppose. Will it always mask the movement, or just to begin with? DH felt his first movement this morning and it really freaked him out. I must admit it's wonderful, although marginally less so when she's booting away for an hour between 1-2am. I read somewhere (but can't remember where) that they have quiet weeks where they are growing and that takes up all their energy so they kick less. I feel a bit like we have 2 quiet weeks and then one growth week, and so on, and I'm conscious that I eat more in that week esp carbs. Maybe just me though. Hope the ob puts your mind at rest. Hope you all have a good week to follow a good weekend.

Just popping my head in to say :hello:. Hope you all had a great weekend! I had a good one, DH is back home now and I had my baby shower on Sat. Got lotas of lovely little things and *shock horror* I've actually cleaned them up and put them away already :rofl:

While I was at my baby shower my Dad finished off the nursery for me, so we're all done now! I'm totally in love with it, could sit in there for hours just staring at the walls :lol: Here are some photos, although they don't do it justice. We went with an "Under the Sea" theme as our house is blue throughout and I didn't want to change just one room so wanted a kind of neutral theme. Log In | Facebook

Hello ladies

It has been some time since i posted in this thread but i now have a bit more time on my hands so am looking forward to keeping up with you all.

Plodding along here at 18 weeks. Have my scan on Friday and really really looking forward to finding out if we have a pink or blue bundle of joy!! Have had a nasty cold last five days so trying to get over that but other than the cold, have been feeling brilliantly which i am very grateful for.

wishes -=- Getting all the big things is so exciting! Especially when you have the money for them ;p hahaha! I bought jelly beans cot and it took nearly a month to get to us.. But when It did I couldnt help but force hubby to put it together straight away and make it up with the sheets and blankets then stand over it imagining our next lil bundle in there hehehe.

BOC -=- So close now! I went to have a peek at your pics but it wouldnt let me in :( I saw your profile belly shot tho very cute!!! Anyway I added you if you were wondering haha Arnt baby showers the best! I pigged out so bad at mine and the amount of cute lil things you get you cant help but organise them all the moment everyone leaves!

AFM -=- Im really feeling it this last week.. So tired and big.. been peeing like crazy and sleeping every chance I get.. I swear hubby went through a nesting phase yesterday!! (which was fantastic for me btw cuz the whole house got cleaned and steralised top to bottom while i slept!) I think our son is clueing on alot more now too.. hes been acting very strange lately very clingy to me and almost sookie like.. It keeps occuring to me just how close we are and I get so impatient and excited at the same time :)

thanks for checking up on me LondonMiss, all was fine at the OB. The chicklet was moving about normally from yesterday but I asked her about it anyway and she said it had probably just moved into a different position etc etc. But I also asked her what I should do if it happened again and how long I should wait before allowing myself to panic (well not in those words but you get what I mean...!) Anyway she gave me some info so feeling much better now. I'm booked in for the glucose test and my anti-D at 28 weeks, not looking forward to either of those.

LondonMiss - we got a Canon, it's a 'bridge' camera so not an SLR (don't know how to use one!) but has lots of the same features and can take great movies! Now I just need to learn how to get the best out of it, lucky we still have 3 months before the chi klet arrives!

Kyra - very nice of DH to do some house cleaning, hope he continues to look after you like this!

I just CANT BELIEVE Boc and I only have a week and a half to go!!! I remember way back in the day when we both got our bfp's and it really doesnt seem like long ago at all! I am excited and nervous and relieved all at the same time. My depression has lifted alot, thankfully, and I finished the one last thing I needed to do for Lil Blue's room which was paint the bookcase. The nursery has a cute bumblebee theme, I will post the pics as soon as I take them.

Do ya know what? I STILL can hardly believe this is all going to end with a BABY. The IVF finally worked! Its a freakin' MIRACLE! I look around sometimes and it doesnt seem real... I never thought I would be so blessed. My mama is arriving from the states next wednesday and she tells me she is already armed with her "good ole southern mid-wifery skills and a bottle of castor oil." I think it may finally sink in THAT ITS REALLY HAPPENING when she gets off the plane. The castor oil will never make it through customs thank god LOL.

I am so thankful that over through all the trials and tribulations of the last year I have had all you lovely girls right here at the end of my fingers. Each and every one of you is an angel. Thank you all so much. The intewebz can be such a wonderful thing ;)

Sammiejam - I'll do you a deal, I'll tip off customs to the castor oil if you do the same to my mum when she brings her British "remedies" with her... ha ha ha I'd like to see that customs tv programme do a "mother knows best" special, they wouldn't stand a chance! She told me this morning that I shouldn't be taking panadol, even though that is specifically what the doctor recommended to me .... I should note my mother is a school administrator not a medically qualified person, but that's never stopped her...

Seems odd that you two will have babies soon, and we all step a little closer to the top of the list. It's a little bit scary... Today, I'm going to spend an hour investigating this nappy business.(it's all fun fun fun in my house:D) and I think I've decided we're going to get one of those cots that turns into a baby bed. Not that DH agrees with me, but as he hasn't offered an alternative opinion, I'm counting that as agreement .... te he he

Kyra, if your DH still has any energy left, could he nip round here? I can lend him a duster ;) it's good of him to do that, most men would think "argh peace and quiet, tv on" and sit on their arses for hours. My DH got up at 5am this morning unable to sleep "quietly". Turns out his definition of quietly is about as quiet as a couple of bull elephants charging through your bedroom. He'll learn when he wakes a sleeping baby up....

Sammie thats amazing that you will be having your baby in a week and a half. I can just imagine how surreal it must all feel. Probably wont feel real till you are actually holding your baby in your arms.

Just re-read my post from yesterday - certainly not having any lovely thoughts about DH tonight! He's still at work and god knows what time he'll be home. I know it's an incredibily busy time for him right now but i'm feeling a little ignored really. If I didn't make the effort to call/email him during the day we would see each other in the mornings before work and that's it. I'm just cross that he doesn't put some limits on work and that he doesn't seem to care that we don't really talk during the week. Grrrrrr.

Anyway, enough of my rant, i'm sure pregnancy hormones aren't helping (i'm allowed to blame them for most things right?!). Hope all you lovely ladies are doing well, apologies for the lack of persies tonight.

Lise - I totally agree. I wish the person who invented a blackberry could be shot (not fatally, just enough to stop them designing anything else). They don't add to your work life balance, they simply extend your working hours to all those when you aren't actually sleeping. And sometimes, they even disturb that if you work with complete idiots in the UK who can't work out an 11 hour time difference and ring DH to ask him about his IT problems or tell him to update an HR form or something obviously critically important! GRRRR
On the upside, I've just done a big order of stuff from an eco store and bought some seventh generation nappies (I'm not persuaded by all the celebrity endorsement, no really) for travelling, and some baby beehinds for everyday. And DH has fixed my wireless on my laptop so hurrah hurrah.

No, no updates :( Just a KILLER painful lady-area and swelling everywhere. Lil Blue is not really moving much anymore, he just kinda rolls around and occasionally tries to dislocate my hip-bones and snap ribs. I think he's totally outta room.

Omg LMiss, your idea for a "Mother Knows Best" special of Airport would be FANTASTIC. My Mama is a crazy little ole hippy artist who lives in the desert and knows EVERYTHING about birthin' (according to her) She also, like your mother, comes up with these insane theories about things and gets mad when i gently try to debunk her ludicrous suggestions. I mean this is a woman who PUT COFFEE IN MY BOTTLE AGED 5 WEEKS! and sticky-taped ribbons to my head from the day I was born. The other day she suggested that we have damn HOMEBIRTH and just cancel the hospital. She was dead serious too... this was after i told her about the very strict visiting hours at Sunnybank Private. I am actually concerned. There is no way on GODS GREEN EARTH they are going to be able to keep this woman away from her grandbaby between the hours of 1 and 3 without restraints and security. She (and her sister! my Aunt) HID in cupboards and under beds to elude the staff when my cousin had her baby a couple months ago. My DH cant wait. He is looking forward to the "show" as he calls it and her cookin'. She goes crazy in the kitchen and its non-stop gorging. I am hoping he will be soooo pitiful at home without me that she will be distracted and will have to stay home and look after him. I can only hope and pray lol...

Lise - MEN. *sammie rolls eyes* I wish TO GOD that pregnancy simulator suits were more available. They just DONT GET IT sometimes. They think its all fun and games when we are lying around on the couch watching tv and such. They dont seem to grasp that we are INCUBATING HUMAN BEINGS and its lonely and painful at times. We need someone there to fetch things and find the remote when it gets lost under cushions. I hope yours was sufficently sorry when he got home and that he spoilt you rotten (just like you deserve). :)

Kyra - Dont be jealous hun, you will be here soon enough! I am wish I was back where you are, still able to move without shrieking in pain, plenty of time to relax and get things done. I feel like I am in a mad rush against time. Its the nesting thing kicking into over-drive. For some reason I get these crazy ideas in my head like "The baby CANNOT BE BORN until the driveway is free of sticks." or "This child CANNOT MAKE AN APPEARANCE until I have wiped off the laundry shelves". Its lunacy!
Today I am going to try and wipe down all the kitchen cupboards and then clean the second bathroom for my mother. FUN! (not). How are the nose-bleeds etc? I got them as well. SOooooo bloody annoying. Not much you can do but wait it out. I think its caused by all the extra blood volume. Again, FUN!

Boc - omg. We have a week to go. A WEEK!!!!!! I just got the nursery finished too. I am trying to figure out how to post the pics here. I havent been able to view yours yet, the album is empty? I do love your profile pic. You are as cute as a button :)
