Our boy name was going to be JASPER WILLIAM so if anyone likes it and hasnt got a name,there is a boy name on offer. Just a thought!! x

Mindhugs - so sorry to hear that news, its absolutely awful when you've had nine weeks to get used to the idea. I know it's probably an old wives tale, but when I miscarried, I was told that it was easier to get pregnant again once you've done it once. I had a month off, one BFN and then a BFP next month. Here's hoping you get the same luck. Very best wishes and hopefully see you in here soon x
Mindhugs~ Having read what London Miss just wrote i have a friend who's daughter miscarried at 5 weeks last month.She is pregnant this month already!!! She was also using the nasal spray as she was ready to start ivf but now the cycle is cancelled because she is pregnant naturally.She has a down syndrome baby and is desperate to have a 'normal' baby which i dont agree with....she has caused a lot of people to frown upon her since she announced 3 hours of her daughters birth that she was going to try for another baby immediately....anyways.... i have heard its common.It didnt happen for me when i mc 3 yrs ago but i also had blocked tubes so it could have?
Best of luck with everything.It will happen.Most of us on these forums,have been what your going through and most of us now have had or are having our precious bundles.It has taken me 6 years to get here but well worth the hard work.Hang in there.xx

Had our scan this morning and all is looking perfect! We also found out we are having a little girl. So very excited! Cant wait to meet our little lady.

Exciting news!!!!!!!
I am having CONTRACTIONS!!! They are 9 minutes apart so far (although there are weaker ones despersed between the 9 minutes) and not so painful I cant talk but seem to be increasing very slightly every half an hour or so.
DH is about 5 1/2 hours away but has turned his truck around and is on the way back so I am PRAYING things slow right down til he gets here.
OMG I am absolutely SH**TING myself! (not literally haha - yet)

oooooh how exciting! tell DH to break more speed limits, if you can't get a police escort when your wife is in labour I don't know when you can do.... How much are they hurting on a scale of one to ten? When does your mum get here? Lets hope it's not long till your BA.... good luck :dance:
Mama isnt going get here until wednesday. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would say about 3. I am still not sure when I should go in. If DH was here I would go now just to see whats going on down there. I guess when the contractions are 5 minutes or less and I am in alot of pain then I should go. In the meantime I will just HANG ON like grim death lol.
All my friends who have had babies have said eat something now and have a bath... cos you won't have time later! Have you got someone to get you there? If you were in Melbourne I'd come and get your myself!!!

But the midwife said that the 6 minute contraction stage can last for AAAGGGGESSSSS. Fingers crossed.

LondonMiss - re the placenta being at the front, I'm not sure if it will mask the movement the whole time. I hope not. I am pretty sure that I felt a kick tonight after dinner though. I was sitting on the couch with my hands on my stomach and I'm sure I felt a kick. Hopefully the movement starts to pick up soon.
Lise - Hey how are you? Yes it took me a while to come into this forum, but I'm glad I'm here now. It's nice to go along this journey with other ladies who have gone through the same as me to finally fall pregnant. Hope your nursery items arrive soon and you can decorate like crazy.
Paula - Congrats on your scan. How exciting that you're having a little girl. Seems like girls all round at the moment.
Hi to all the other gal in here - WantBaby#2, Kyrawolfe, Smithy. I have no idea if I've missed anyone else as I've only been able to scroll down the last page of posts. Sorry in advance if I have missed someone.
AFM - Well I feel very boring because nothing really much has happened in the last week since I posted last time. Other than work being super busy which sux. The plan is to take DH to the baby shop this weekend and we can buy our first baby items, which is a bit exciting. Nothing major to report on the baby movement front, but I do think I felt a kick tonight (felt it from the outside of my tummy, not the inside), so I am really hoping I will start feeling more soon.
I am definitely feeling a little left out with all the "baby girl" news in here, as we are expecting a little boy. But then again, I have four girlfriends in real life who are all expecting boys in the next 4 months, so I guess it evens out a bit.
We have another OB appt next week, and I am hoping I can get him to do another quick scan, just to confirm it is a boy. I am very much someone who needs to see to believe, and at the 20 week scan, I just couldn't seem to make out what the sonographer was seeing, so I only have her word for it that we're having a boy. I would really like to see some evidence for myself, so here's hoping for next week.

Hi girls,
You're all so precious with your support. Has uplifted me immensely.
At the 9wk scan they found no heartbeat. Was hard to see that flat line on the screen, especially since there was a strong one at 6wks. We were completed blind sided by it. DH almost collapsed at hospital, which killed me.
So I am going in for a curette on Tuesday to have it all removed, unless I miscarry naturally before then. The worst bit is I am still getting horrible morning sickness and sore BB's.
Wantbaby#2 - 6 years is a long time. I just know there are worse stories out there than mine. I suppose it's the knowledge of another laproscopy for my endo, following the curette coupled with my age (37) and DH (45). Just feels closer to the end of our options too. Gosh and who wants to go through the dreaded TWW again, that is def the hardest part of the journey.
Your stories are so inspiring. Your pregnancy and birth stories give me hope and keep me going.

hope you're all going well and had a good weekend. I tried twice yesterday to post and both times something happened - in the end I had a tantrum and gave up!!

Wishes - now you've started feeling your little one moving it won't be long before you feel him every day. The chicklet is kicking away merrily as I type this, although she's so very stubborn and if I were to draw attention to her movements to DH she'd stop immediately, I don't know how she knows... ;)
Wantbaby - I hope the house moving is going okay for you. It's such a stressful and tiring time isn't it? Just make sure that you don't do any heavy lifting and/or moving, and take plenty of breaks.
Londonmiss - I hope you can easily ignore your mum's 'medical' advice - I guess this is one aspect where it's better to be living far apart!
Kyra - your hammock time sounds divine :D I don't have one any more but I do have a papasan in which I love to curl up with a book outside.
AFM - well I was very excited today to get the call that our pram had arrived! I left work early to pick it up and have spent the last two hours putting it all together. It looks fantastic, but i'm a little annoyed that we seem to be missing a few things (the safety harness and padding for the chair, although we'll be using the bassinet part for the first few months). I'm going to call them tomorrow and take it in on the weekend to show them what I have and tell them what I need so I hope I don't have any problems...
Otherwise, going okay although my back has starting hurting a bit so i'm going to have to add a few more pillows to the mix when I go to sleep! Poor DH, the bed is pretty much taken up with my pillows as is...
Oh, while I think of it - now that BOC has had her little one we'll need someone to take over the list. I'm relying on my phone at the moment don't think i'll be able to take over - is there anyone out there with a computer that actually works (you seem to be few and far between at the moment!) who is willing to take on the list?

Just in case any of you are being told to eat more dried fruit (it seems that dieticians are obsessed with it for vegetarians) (that and broccoli).. here's a recipe I typed out earlier. I know it's nothing to do with pregnancy strictly but you might like it nonetheless
1 orange
1 lemon
9 fl oz unsweetened apple juice
6 whole cardamon pods lightly crushed
6 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
13oz dried fruit whatever you like. I used some rather dismal-looking (black!) apricots, left over cranberries, raisins, pears and peaches
3 tbsp sugar (reduce a little if you used apple juice with sugar in)
Cut the rind off the lemon and orange and add to pan. Add the juice of both. Add juice and 750ml of water. Add the fruit. Bring to boil, then turn the heat off and leave it for an hour. Return to heat, add the sugar and cook for five mins or until all the fruit is soft. The recipe says to remove the fruit with a slotted spoon and simmer the juice down for another five mins, but I don't bother. Remove cinnamon stick. Serve warm or cold, lush with natural yogurt. Just don't crunch down on a cardamon or you'll know about it!
Keeps for at least a week in the fridge covered. Makes a large bowl full.

Lise~ Yeah,moving house again is not fun.DH is working 4 hours away over the past 3 weeks so he is only home on weekends so DS and I are trying to pack the light things together,such as clothing,linen etc. Was the pram you got,the bugaboo? I cant remember who,on the forum,ordered one? I bought a Love n care Nova with the bassinette attachment on sale for $399.The in laws bought the car seat on the weekend which was on sale for $405 from $490 and the only things i have bought are clothes,wash products. The best thing about the new house we will be renting is that its 3 bedroom so our little girl will have a nursery.I always wanted a nursery so im going to have so much fun decorating!! I hope you get the parts you need for the pram,without any drama.:)
London Miss~ My DH is away for work too! I woke at 9.15 today but was awake most of the night with sore hips so it was a disturbed sleep.I also had to get Connor ready for school at 7.30.Its 11.30 now and after packing some clothes into garbage bags for our move,im ready for bed again. LOL.
AFM im enjoying my babies movements.Some are so strong they startle me! Im sure she is a kickboxer in the making...i hope not as i am quite a non sporting,girly girl who makes dolls for a living.To have a tom boy would be very different from what i expect..:o
Apparently my mum was sure she was having a boy with me beacuse i was so rough with my kicks.
I had a dreadful weekend with the in laws.I was in tears because of my menopausal MIL and her insensitivity!.Lucky they live 2 hours away and as DH said "just agree with her and when we get home and the baby is born,we can do as we like so dont worry"
She had an opinion on EVERYTHING!! AAARRGGGHHH!!!

I have the flu :( aparently I spent a lil too much time on the hammock chair in the breeze lol..
Its so hard trying to be the super sweet mum to my sick lil man when I myself feel like death warmed up on a stick!! Ive been trying to do all the nice things for him that I remembered my mother doing for me when I was little and sick.. Like giving him lots of warm baths with lavender and bringing him fruit juice in bed reading him stories stroking his hair and singing him to sleep.. The poor lil bugger even when he was sleeping hed be tossing and turning looking miserable..
wishes -=- Its true about boys though they really do love there mummies :) My lil man always jumps on my lap when Im sitting on the couch and snuggles into me.. When hes feeling down or sick or tired it always has to be mummy cuddles and mummy time :) with every accomplishment like building robots or makeing puppys out of playdoh mummy has to come and see :) you will love it, it truly makes you feel like the most special person on earth!
I cant believe I have the flu so close to Jelly Beans arrival :( I feel miserable.. Sleeping at night is disgusting with the razor throat and the blocked nose, and my stomache is so sore from being sick ontop of the usual crowded feeling.. Going from feeling so cold i cant get enough blankets to throwing them off me in th pool of sweat.. Doc says both me and DS just have to wait it out.. Im actually jealose my son is allowed to have cold and flu medicine and I cant! LOL
JB seems unnaffected still prodding me everyday and rolling around in the little space she/he has left.. DH has been amazing at least.. hes been taking on everything he can when hes home so I can try to sleep it off..
Well hope every one is doing well :) I ll do proper persies later on when I start to feel a little better.. belly rubs to all my girls <3

Luckily it's not anything we need straight away but I'm still a little annoyed considering how much we paid for the thing!!! Anyway, Bugaboo will post us the parts and we should have them soon. I'm glad DS is able to help you pack , I think that's the worst part!
Paula - glad you can feel more movements now, such a nice feeling isn't it? I could sit for hours feeling/watching the chicklet move. Although I can see my belly move she's too little still for us to see feet/hands etc but looking forward to that!

AFM - at home today. I've had a headache the last few days and although it's not a bad one I just decided I needed a day at home. I think my body is responding to the stress of my work at the moment since I usually get sick when I'm stressed. I'm working in a different part of my department and I just don't really like it. But my substantive position ceased to exist so to return to my usual work HR would have to place me somwhere znd who knows where that would be. So I'm thinking easiest to stay where I am for another 7 weeks, but sometimes it seems so far away...
Anyway, enough whingeing, time for a snooze. Hope you're all plodding along nicely :)

Just a quick question to anyone 20 weeks plus who has experienced this...
..... Im getting this weird pinching feeling about 2 inches from my belly button.Sometimes it feels like a pinched nerve where you get that 'burnt' skin type of sensation.Peanut keeps kicking in that same spot too.I have made my next ante natal app a week earlier so i can get it checked out but still have a week til then.
I have googled but cant find much.Any help would be great.xx

So sorry for keeping you all hanging. Right now I am sitting in my room at the hosp in the pitch black darkness with a laptop my fav nurse smuggled in for me from the nurses quarters to use for half an hour. She took pity on me as I have been without internet since I last posted on friday night! I broke my lapy charger as a HUGE contraction hit as I was packing it up and I snapped the little thing off that does the charging.
So first things first - HE'S HERE! His name is Colt Jesse-Trapper and he was born by emergency Ceasearean just after midnight last friday night (so that was saturday morning). He weighed 2450g (5pound 8) and is a gorgeous little thing.
Unfortunately he has been in NICU since then and things have been very rough. *deep sigh* but he is a FIGHTER and is getting better and stronger by the hour.
What happened is absolutely crazy and VERY VERY RARE, so I dont want any of my preggo girls worrying.
The first issue was what happened when I got to the hosp. I arrived at 10pm and my contractions were 5 mins apart and I was 4cms dilated. They put the monitor on me and noticed that with every contraction, his heartrate stopped. TERRIFYING. So they called the OB in and the decision was made straight away to get him out. His cord was wrapped around his neck 2x but was also around his mouth, like a gag. The OB said it gave him a terrible shock as he had not seen that before.
Anyways they got him out ok and although he seemed small, he appeared to be ok. Everything went as normal and he was bathed and weighed and taken to my room for a feed. It was all good.
Then the blood results started coming in. I am A neg, Colt is O+ but I had the Anti-D so everything SHOULD have been ok. But its not. As most of you know, I had 3 ruptured ectopic pregnancies which necessitated IVF. 2 of those ectopics happened in NZ where not many people do IVF due to the costs involved over there. Well the NZ doctors decided that since I wasnt going to have any more babies because I had no fillopean tubes left, the Anti-D injection was not necessary for me and they DIDNT give it to me after either ectopics. This would be UNHEARD OF over here. So, because of this, I am one of the very very VERY rare women that has the rhesus negative antibodies and they have passed into my darling little baby :( :( :(
His tiny wee body is filled with blood cells that are a seek and distroy mission for positive blood, which he has :(
This would have started in-utero but my liver and the placenta was able to keep the levels right down and he was ok in there (but that could contribute his small birth weight) During the birth, my blood which is chock filled with those search and distroy anti-bodies flowed down the umbilical cord, straight into him and there was nothing to protect him anymore. After about 3 hours he started to go downhill badly. His blood sugar levels were horrendus which caused his blood pressure to drop dramatically and his bilirubin levels were absolutely THROUGH.THE.ROOF. They knew that we had different blood types and that can cause some of the symptoms they saw but NOTHING like what he experiencing. This is because situation is so rare now days (due to the anti-d injection) and the fact that my notes CLEARLY showed i had the anti-d shot at 32wks, they did not in a million years expect me to have the actual antiobodies. It took a few hours for it to be figured out where Colt just got sicker and sicker and sicker. Finally the bloods came back and the antibodies were discovered and things moved quickly from there.
Colt has been under 4 blue lights for the last 4 days and was fed via drip and my milk through a nose line. His biliruben was hovering at 280 and has been going steadily up every day :( He was expected to have a total blood transfer when the level hit 300 and it was tentatively scheduled for tomorrow morning.
Today however, HE DROPPED TO 240 AND CAME DOWN TO 2 LIGHTS! No one could believe it, he seemed to just turn a corner. I think its my milk :)
I held him, changed him and gave him a quick breastfeed FOR THE FIRST TIME. It was SO amazing. I am crying typing this.
We are praying his levels will continue to drop and we will be able to take him home early next week. I am sooooooo excited to just be able to hold him and look at his face whenever I want. (his face has been covered to protect his eyes from the lights)
He is a wonderful little munchkin and doesnt cry or complain about all the drips and tubes and lights and 5 heel *****s a day, or any of the other godawful stuff he goes through every day. I cannot tell you all how much I adore him. (you all know though, cos you feel the same about your wee ones)
So thats the update. I am well, c-section healing, holding up and trying to stay strong for my little Colt.

Oh Sammie, big hugs to you :hug: what an ordeal. I'm glad Colt is on the mend and you can hold him in your arms, fingers crossed he continues to get better so you can take him home ASAP.
I'm O neg and DH is A pos so I'll be praying even harder the chicklet is negative like me.
I'm at home again today, I think it's gone to my sinuses, this is how my last sinus infection started, with a few days of headaches, so going to stay hone and hopefully prevent it from turning into a full on attack.
Wantbaby - I haven't had that but are there midwives at your OB clinic you can ask? The ladies at my clinic are great and happy to answer any questions.

Bloody hell Sammie - what a stressful few days for you and DH. Did he get there in time? My heart was in my mouth reading your post, I'm so pleased to hear he's turned the corner and should be able to come home with you.
I give thanks and praise that we are born in this century and in a Western country. If we lived in a hut in Burkino Faso or in 1810, it would be awful to think about what would happen in anything other than a standard birth. Although having said that, none of us would be pregnant without IUI/ IVF so.... But I'm so grateful for you, the medical attention sounds like it was great when you really needed. Phew. Give that lovely baby a cuddle from us all.
Lise and Kyra - hope you are feeling better now. It's rubbish not being able to take anything for it. Hope you get well soon x
