YAY, the nursery furniture arrived today and DH is being a dear and putting it all together cos he knows how impatient I am...!
 How exciting Lise for your funiture to arrive.. It's the best time.. I spend a lot of time in my nursery trying to imagine what it will be like to have a real baby in there.. And yay for DH putting it together for you straight away.. Super brownie points for him.. It's pretty quiet in here ATM.. Is everyone off having their babies??? :o
lise our little girl has soooo many shoes and clothes already too. Its so hard to resist!! Woohoo on the furniture. Thats so exciting. I cant wait to put my order in let alone have it all at home ready to be assembled.
smithy any reason why your photo site doesnt seem to load up? Is it just my computer?
It sure has been very quiet in here. I have been feeling lots of kicks and so has DH. Especially in the morning before we get up, she always has to say good morning. Very cute!
Hello all. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Sorry for the me post... we went away to Alice Springs and Uluru, had a lovely time, although I ate far too much and am going to have to have a very quiet week this week, got back feeling quite tired after the flight. It was lovely to go away, and it really feels like this is the beginning of the last phase if you see what I mean.... I'm glad we didn't leave it any later though.
not sure my ticker will say it until 4pm... but whoop whoop 100 days to go today! Very exciting!!!!
Hope you are all well xx
Lise -=- So exciting that you got all your furniture! And here here on eating way too much chocolate.. I dont think Ill be wanting any more for a while! HAHA! WOOHOO for 28 weeks! They say from that point on the chances of premmie survival are really good :) not that you would want a premmie.. but I found that so comforting to know when I got to 28 weeks! Next milestone 30 weeks hun! then your on the 10 week countdown! :O
lil Miss -=- WOW you are so close!!! You must be watching the clock like a hawk at this point thinking any minute now its all going to start!
Paula -=- Awww on the kicks! we dnt really have many shoes for bubs just lots of socks.. I bought DS lots of baby shoes that he never wore.. but seeing as your having a girl you will probably dress her up more then we bothered too with him :p
LM -=- your ticker says it! 100 days! WOOT start counting down!!
AFM -=- Well the fun hasnt stopped yet! LOL got more painfull BH contractions at 3am the other night.. Didnt bother too call anyone after last time and again they settled down by themselves.. But then when I went in to see my doc yesterday I was telling her about them and she took my measurements.. She decided I was measuring too small again in the tum and sent me up the hospital for a "full evaluation" She told me bubs looked too small and if there was low chord flow they might have to induce me on the day... Sooo me and DH were both :o and were stuck at the shops 4 suburbs away from home with a pram full of groceries no car (I dnt have it atm cuz i cant drive anyway and MIL and FIL have borrowed it till i have bubs) our 3 yo son was with us and all our babysitters were busy that day.. so we ended up organising a babysitter by pure luck my sister had gotten a random day off uni.. bussing and walking it home dropping off our son cabbing it up the hospital and finally were in the waiting room feeling quite shocked by what mightof been happening!
As it turned out everything seemed fine and we got a scan done to check bubs size ( I was worried we might see somerthing but as it turns out you cant see anything at that stage cuz they are too big!) doc couldnt be more wrong about jelly beans size though turned out he/she is 3 kilos already which is perfect smack bang in the middle 50th percentile! So all is well and we were told bubs is still right down there ready to go anytime and to go home and get lots of rest..
since then we've decided as of 37 weeks (tomorow) seeing as bubs seems ready we are going to start trying to bring on labour.. walking raspberry leaf tea DTDing (hubbys happy bout that one LOL) spicey foods. all of them except the oil one.. dnt think Im that desperate!!! Anyone else got any more suggestions?? Anyway belly rubs to all hope we are all well!
Lotsa <3 Ky
Hello ladies
Lise - We have a lot of furniture already, and I had such a ball setting up nursery...Everytime I add to it it still feels very surreal...sometimes I just stand in the middle of the room in awe at everything, and just can't believe a baby will be in there soon!!
Paula - That sounds so cute, I've yet to feel any real definite kicks and it's frustrating!! So glad to hear you and DH get to feel bubs of a morning, that's adorable!
LondonMiss - Woohooo!! Nearly double digits, that's my next milestone that I'm working towards soon too!
Kyra - Wow how exciting!!! I've heard warm baths are good to help too. Gosh that would have been a full on day for you at the clinic/hospital!! C'mon little bubba!!
AFM - We had our April 1st Scan, and turns our McPeanut was a stubborn little thing who was very comfortable down low in the pelvis. We went back 3 times in that day to get a better look hoping bub would move but nooooo. Sonographer THINKS it might be a boy  but not sure. But she said bub was healthy and looking great, and to us that's the most important thing. On the good side I got a rescan!! WooT So I go back on the 14th (week today). Can't wait to see my little miracle again. :D
Smithy the countdown seems to be going very very slow and im ONLY half way!! :wall:
LondonMiss YAY on 100 days to go. Down to double digits tomorrow.
kyrawolfe what fantastic news that bub is measuring 3kgs already!! Way to go! Hopefully some of your tricks work and bub will be here to meet you very soon.
Ninah lucky you with your rescan! Nothing better than getting to see your bub again!
Are there anymore scans done in a normal pregnancy after the 20 week scan? Im having a 4D scan done but was wondering if the Obs will send for anymore?
usually if everything is fine they only do the 12 and 20 week scan :)
Hey - yes, I was told my next scan would be 36 weeks, which is soooo far away!
Ninah - I'm sure it won't work for everyone, but one absolutely certain way to feel Little Miss G kicking is to lay on my back, propped up with cushions but sort of half way. (Imagine the angle of a reclining princess laying eating grapes being peeled for her ha ha ha) Then I stick my legs out, and sort of shuffle my hips so that they are still and flat and quite wide, then put the soles of my feet together (like the yoga move, if you do it) so my knees are really stuck out (it's not a very attractive position, I will concede!). This results in instant kicks, I wonder if it's giving her maximum space and rotation, or maybe it just makes me relax and concentrate. It also helps if I listen to the radio and not read or do anything else, other than rub cream in my belly. But that might be helping me focus rather than doing anything for her!!!
the midwife told me last night.. drinking or eating something sweet then something cold gets them kicking every time :) I reckon do that then lay down like LM said :)
Paula: unless you have gest diabetes or are over/under size then usually no more scans
LM: I found a glass of cold orange juice or lemonade did the trick!
Kyra: good luck bringing on labour! Look forward to your BA.
:hello: to all you other lovelies! Enjoying reading all your posts and looking forward to seeing you all over in the parenting thread!
Hello ladies - glad there is a bit more action in here now, it was feeling a bit quiet there for a bit!
lilmisshavachat - gosh you're so close now, so exciting!!! I'll be checking daily to keep an eye out for your BA!
Paula - glad we're not the only ones buying way too many baby clothes! And glad you're feeling some more kicks nowdays! A word of advice regarding your baby furniture - i'm sure it's much better in Sydney but my stuff took 8 weeks to arrive and could have taken up to 12 weeks so might be worth checking out how long the items you like might take just to ensure they arrive in time! As for scans - we've got a 3D one at 28 weeks, but only because our OB offers one then as a 'growth' scan just to confirm that everything is progressing nicely. More likely to make her some extra money...!!!
londonmiss - your trip sounds just lovely, I haven't been out that way yet but i'd like to. I don't think DH and I will get a chance for a babymoon before the chicklet arrives but I guess we've got Canada to look forward to...!
kyra - yes I can't wait for the 30 week mark, it does seem to be going pretty quickly at the moment so i'm sure it will be here before I know it! Glad that the scan showed jelly bean is a good size, what a stressful time for you and DH though. I don't think I know of any other tips, other than bumpy roads and curries ;)
Ninah - you're so organised having your nursery finished already!! Not good that you didn't get to see your little one well during the scan but very nice getting to have another one!! As for movements - I find sitting on the couch with my feet up mostly works, failing that having a cold drink or some chocolate generally does the trick. Or when i'm lying in bed and i'm lying perhaps a little too much on my tummy - she always kicks then!
BOC and smithy - hope things are going well. Can't wait to join you ladies in the next thread :)
AFM - had a number of different people comment today on how tiny/huge I am. I know it's silly to let their comments get to me but seeing as how I can't really help how big I am I feel like their comments are a criticism of sorts and makes me really cross - why can't they just shut up and say something nice? And these are women with children themselves, surely they remember what it was like???
I'm just sitting at home waiting for DH to come home. We were supposed to finish assembling the baby furniture (we did the cot and change table the other day) but doesn't seem like that will be happening. I'm still feeling so cross towards DH at the moment - I KNOW he has to work long hours but it just seems like i'm the only one he doesn't make a priority. Yesterday he had an email during the day asking him to fill in at indoor cricket with his mates so magically he makes it home in time to get to that, yet when it's just me at home then he takes forever. I'm really tired of being mad at him all the time, but I can't seem to help it. And I try to tell myself that some of you have your DHs working far away and at least mine comes home every night, and it's not like he's out drinking or anything like that, but i'm afraid it doesn't always help.
Anyway, ignore me rambling on, I really just need to get over myself.
night all xx
Kyra - My MW has just told me that evening primrose oil is great for softening the cervix and she recommends it from 38 weeks.. You use 1000mg capsules and on the first night you take 2 tablets and (TMI warning) insert the other 1 and then the next night you take 1 and insert 2.. Add a panty liner or normal pad when you go to bed cause it has a bit of seepage.. I thought it was funny that my MW said to do it only if i'm comfortable with inserting stuff like that and then i pointed out that as in IVF'er we've had to do worse things.. It's really not bad, and she said it acts like prostoglandins to soften and ripen your cervix... I'm happy to do whatever is going to help at this point... You're not far off yourself so goodluck to you.. you might even pop before I do...
Lise - It is super exciting but trying to keep excitement in check as much as possible so it doesn't over take me.. I am analysing evey twinge to work out if contractions are starting but we could be in for another 3 weeks of waiting too...
I hope everyone is well and enjoy it all I say..
:dance:OMG LILMISS... look at you go hun you sure are on the down hill run now hunny gee i cant wait to hear your ba,your so very close now yay..

Thanks Smithy.. I have returned your PM but incase you see this first I think that the very early stages of labour are happening... I have had pains since 8.15am this morning and have started to have a bit of spotting this afternoon... Just want to make sure this is the real deal before my mum jumps in the car to come to my place.. It's only 1 1/2 hours but I would feel like quite a Wally if this fizzles out..
And there is another pain now... It's a lot more stabby than contracty so this has thrown me a bit... we'll seee how it goes I guess...:o
Oooh lilmiss, sending good vibes your way xx
Oh wow Lilmiss!!! Sending smooth labour vibes your way! :goodluck:!
Oh good luck sweetie! Here's hoping you sneeze and it pops out and midwife does her wiping and hands you a weak celebratory GNT. That's my birth plan anyway
good luck lil miss!!!! Hope to hear your ba soon!!! :d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d
Thanks everyone.. unfortunately I am still at home and the pains haven't intensified or shortened in timing at all... I even got a pretty good nights sleep... They are still here this morning so I hope that they get stronger and closer as the day goes on or I could be in for one of those drag it out for days type labour.. We'll just have to wait and see I guess... Take care Ladies...
I'm uploading photos on facebook - at this rate, you'll have given birth before I've finished!!!! ;)
:goodluck::goodluck::goodluck:best of luck lilmiss,im really thinking of you hun and sending a heap of labour vibes your way.
London miss-=- may I add you? Whats your facebook name? Mines same as on here :)
Will definitely have to try some of these kick on demand tricks :D
lise i too have had the "Your belly is quite big already, your going to be HUGE" comments but to be honest, they dont bother me at all as i have been through too much for too long to care how i look or will look.
lilmiss sending you super dooper labour vibes!!
Bought some more stuff last night for our little girl ie: sheet set, mattress protector, wraps, baby head rest which is meant to help prevent flat spots oh and i also got myself a body pillow finally and wow, it really helped me have a great nights sleep. Will be placing our big order today. OMG it all seems so real now!! Oh and not to mention i have started looking at local daycares, now that is surreal!!!
Well ladies we had our 28 week scan today - and I wish we hadn't!! It was done during our regular OB visit, and DH asked her if she could confirm the gender as we've bought a number of girly, pink cloths and dresses (as you know!!). She had a look and said she wasn't sure - she saw something she thought was the labia, but then we could clearly see something that looked like a penis!! She said if she had to make a guess she'd say boy but she really wasn't confident at all. She admitted she wasn't very good at this, and said she'd check next time but i'm now feeling so confused and torn and uncertain as to what to think. Please don't get me wrong - i'm more than happy for the baby to be a boy, but after being told it's a girl and thinking of it as a girl for all these weeks and buying it girl clothes etc., well if I kind of feel like if it is a boy then we've 'lost' our little girl.
I'm off to Google the accuracy of these things - I know that early on the clitoris can look like a penis but is that normal at this stage? She did say if it was a boy then it's boy bits are very small... I'M SO CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!
Hope you are all well - lilmiss, sending some labour vibes your way xx
lise -=- sorry to hear of your confusion :s
if she says shes not very good and the last one was convinced it was a girl id go with the last one... but ive known way to many people who have had them get it wrong nd go through the wrong themed nursery dillhemma after the birth not to mention emotional readjustment that i didnt really want to know this time :) Id rather know for sure at the birth then think its one and get the other..
Hope next time you get a definate answer!
<3 Ky
speaking of which... Im feeling soooo impatient the last couple days!!!!!! especially after being told on the scan that bubs was 3 kilos and ready to roll!
Ive done walking DTD curry chilli doing Rasperry leaf tea tonight.. warm baths and showers. I know I still have 19 days left but hopeing ill go a lil earlier.. I went at 39 weeks and 4 days with DS and they say ur second gos earlier.. so heres hopeing! Oh and I really hope lilmiss is off pushing her lil bundle out as we speak!!! GOOD LUCK LILL MISS!!
Hopefully not all at the same time, Kyra!!! :D I'd be worried about spilling the curry if so ha ha ha
I'm watching videos on babycenter.com. I really ought not do this without DH being in the house as I scare myself!! But I'd rather be prepared... what do you all have for the weekend? I'm starting with a curry (mmmmmm) and a hen do tomorrow, and the cinema on Sunday (you'll note not much study listed here, bad girl!)
(other than those of you who might be in labour, I guess I can work out what you're doing this weekend.....)
Hi Ladies,
I don't post in here very often at all but am having a bad day and knew you'd all understand. :hello: to everyone - it's so good to see some LTTTC girls graduating into this thread, and I feel so privileged to have shared much of my journey with you all. Sending lots of labourvibes to LilMiss!
So... a bit of a rant. One of my friends started TTC about four months ago, and I discovered today that she's 12 weeks pregnant. Quite aside from being very happy for her (truly!), and even looking forward to sharing the experience with her, I'm also really angry with the world and feeling very sad about it. Why is she so lucky? Why did the dice fall her way so easily? Seriously, :wtf: Why can't it be as hard for her as it was for us? I have been very emotional and upset all afternoon and haven't yet returned her call - I will, and I will be gracious and happy for her (because I am), but I am also hurting a lot as well. That's not her fault and I won't make her suffer for it, but I expect that she'll be understanding of why I am a bit reserved around her. I know this is my baggage, and not hers. I'm also quite shocked to discover that my emotions are so strong despite me now being 32 weeks pregnant myself - but I guess that's what infertility will do to you.
Okay, rant over. I do often lurk in here and enjoy seeing you all getting along with your pregnancies. I'm just very bad at keeping up with everyone and keeping up with myself half the time!
Thanks for the ear ladies,
Seph
I'll be honest, the first time I read this, I thought you were being a little bit unreasonable. But then I read it again, and realised you said 4 months and not 4 years which is what my brain read (assumed) as who on earth gets pregnant within in a month... I hope getting it out your system helped.. I don't think the anger of LTTTC ever leaves you. Or the total lack of fairness, however you measure equity.
56 days to go! That's pretty exciting though... are you all packed up and ready to go? It's lovely to hear from you
Well... I'm still here... All activity has ceased and I think that I was having Pre-labour pains... So frustrating.. :wall: Add to that.. I met a lady at the shops who told me that she had pre-labour pains for 5 days and they would come down to 3 mins apart but would stop at night.. Thanks for that.. makes me feel so much more optomistic (Note sarcasm).. So labour alarm is reset and I'm back to waiting...
Thanks for all your labour vibes though and sorry for the false alarm..
:Doh lillmiss your poor girl ,but hey hun dont be sorry;)your little man will be here very soon and you will know when the time is rite.
till then many labour vibes heading your way i dont think its gonna be long hun .smithy xoxo
a big hello to you all girls keep plodding along your all going great.
lise bumma about your scan hun ,but im excited to find out whats really in there lol..
Hi Girls.I have finally finished moving and my internet has just come back on..finally!!
I have gone back a few pages and read what you have all been upto.
Lilmiss~ wow, what excitement, labour pains now nothing? Must be frustrating! Your bub will be here in no time.Try and enjoy the last few quiet moments while you can.It must be hard though not to think of anything else.
Hang on.... had to yell at my cat to get off the damn screen door...stupid moron!!
Has anyone heard from .... forgot name?... Colts mummy? Still wishing to hear if he is doing well now after the whole RH thing?
Persephone~ I dont mean to sound harsh but you shouldnt be feeling that way, especially as you have your baby on the way.If you still hadnt conceived,i could definatly see your point but you have been lucky to have been blessed, even if it did take some time.I believe that what you put out, comes back.I have, for the past year or so,only been happy for those who have conceived knowing that,if i show happiness toward others and not bitterness, then,i will be be returned to the good fortune of my own conception, which i have, luckily.I wouldnt wish infertility on my worst enemy.I really wouldnt want any woman to have to go through what i have been through.I doubt you really would have wanted to see your friend go through that heartache,of 4 yrs trying.Sharing the experience with her and watching your children grow up together as friends,im sure will make you both very close. :)
Hello to everyone else.Belly rubs to all and kisses to the bubs who are already here!!xx
:lol:mmmmmmmm sorry for intruding girls but ive been lurking all day to see if theres any news from lilmiss...and NO theres not so im wondering if this means anything ? mmmmmmm wondering...
belly rubs to you all girls and i hope you all had a nice weekend
Sorry Smithy my dear but still no bub... Still getting the pains but nothing regular just tiring and frustrating... I'll definitely let you know what the real thing starts... If I can work out what's real and what's not...lol...
Morning ladies. I hope you are all well. It's really autumnal here in Melbourne, quite a lovely morning. I had what I think might be a practice contraction yesterday, which seems a bit early, although I might have been imagining it. It felt like someone cracked an egg on the top of my uterus, and a strange sensation passed down it from the top. Is that what they feel like? I was in a taxi at the time so couldn't really investigate with some poking of the belly
I started thinking about my packing list yesterday. You know you are British when one of the first things I packed was some decent teabags in a ziplock bag.... :D When my friend was in the Royal Womens last year, I kept getting given tea so weak, it would have counted as washing up water in our household, so thought I'd better do that. I'm quite sure that their baby delivery skills are better than their tea making though... hopefully!
How are you all? I'll be on here loads this week as I am having an essay crisis. :wall:
Hi Londonmiss~ Im not sure about how the braxton hicks contractions feel....its been way too long since having my son..LOL Im a newbie all over.
A good cup of tea is a must although i havent had one since i became pregnant.I only have had maybe 1 glass of cola this whole time, but have been getting my caffeine dose in the 2 lindt bunnies i have eaten:redface:
Had a trip to the hospital last friday.I think i may have lost some of my mucus plug but when i went to the delivery ward,i had an internal check and my cervix was closed.(Thankfully) so im not sure what it was.I always check when i wipe or anything and didnt notice anything at all until an hour or so later while preparing dinner,i looked in the toilet before going and saw a small bloody mucus bit.The thing is...i had been cutting the bloody yuk bits of the chicken i had been preparing and mum thinks it may have stuck on me and fallen off while i had been emptying my bladder!!:o
So its a mystery....chicken or plug?? Sounds soooo weird typing this...almost a comedy skit. BUT it did scare the crap out of me and i was in tears heading to emergency.I wouldnt DARE to tell my ob that it could have been the yucky chicken bits i had been cutting off.Im sure he would cross me off his list!!The nurses were fabulous and i checked out in a much better state.Bubs heartrate was great, lots of kicks etc and a closed and firm cervix so who knows.I would have died if Peanut had made her entry as she is too small to survive. The nurses said 25 weeks is the very earliest a bub 'may' survive. Its scary thinking we are all dying to get to the 12 week mark, before we think we will be o.k only to start worrying again about preterm labour. Now im madly counting and wishing i could hurry and get to the 28 week mark where survival (should anything happen) is alot better.Oh the stress!! It never ends.
Anyhow i have been fine.no weird feelings,no discharges, lots of strong kicks everyday so am feeling better.I have another app this thursday with my ob.
I have good news too...DH and i have FINALLY picked a name for our little girl.Im so pleased.I just hope we dont change our minds or she is being called 'Peanut'.LOL
Hi girls :) -=-
Wantbaby no.2 I hear ya hun Every trimester theres a new reason to panick and worry! then when bubs arrives you get a whole new reason to wry.. every lil sneeze cough.. funny looking thing on them etc etc etc :) You will be ok tho Im sure peanut is just playing games with you :p
YAY went to my OB appoint today midwife tells me Im 3/5 engaged and not to wry bout going over my due date! :D she said she wouldnt be surprised to see me back in the next few days! Im so happy to hear that my fingers and toes are completely crossed that this will be happening very soon!:dance::dance:
I feel like a ticking timebomb just waiting for that first contraction or for my waters to break like they did with DS :D
Catch up soon just wanted to spread my happy news
