CK77 - How fun is setting up the nursery!!!! I really want one of those angel care monitors there's soo many on the market I am not sure which one I should choose!!

Wantbaby - I had the same problem with MBF I added DH to my cover and they changed my cover without me knowing so he went down and let them have it as we weren't going to be covered for the baby at all and we went in twice before IVF and after ET and were told we were so they waved all the pregnancy waiting fees effing retards I tells ya!!! And YAY for bubby being perfect size! And not long now then! I hope all goes well for you let the countdown begin

Leabie - Hows everything going for you? Whens your next scan? And yes red meat is unattractive!

Londonmiss Bummer about your laptop!!! And not long to go either wahoo!!!!

Ninah Glad everything is going well for you and ouchies on the slip!! Good to know bubs still moving around I had an image when you said front image and that was trying to put a shoe on without loosing balance hehe!!

Lise I would have felt a bit weird with a male being there breastfeeding a doll :/ Though I know DH will prob wanna come with me to understand that side of things because I am very forgetful!! I hope chiklet moves down more for you, not long till that little miracle will be in your arms

Paula I cannot wait for antenatal classes! I think they would be fun, I wish you could do something early in the pregnancy instead of having to wait soo long to know whats happening etc lol!

Brunette I am not keen on the new changes either, it'll make it hard for alot of people I think relying on that! And as for antenatal classes give them a call and ask them they may ask what hospital you're going to etc... And yeppers I am considering the supplements if nothing changes!

AFM Well not alot happening here! Told someone a while ago what our bubs name would be if it were a boy and she had a baby today and called it what I said to her not just first name but middle also!! Not happy jan!! So back to the drawing board for us such a shame though cause thats the only name DH and I agreed on and the middle name is DH's middle name... And considering she told me she was calling him another name I thought it was safe to tell a few weeks ago obviously not!!!!

Hello to all you beautiful girls I have missed I tried my hardest not to miss anyone so big kisses and belly rubs to you all!

Brunette, congrats mate on hitting 12 weeks!! So pleased for you. How is the spotting going now? I'm sure your NT next week will be fine. Just on age alone I was 1/571 but then combined with my blood results it went out to 1/11500, so I'm sure you wont have anything to worry about (you've only got a couple of years on me!!). That horseshoe necklace has helped you get to 12 so I'm sure the luck with stay with you for next week too.

Miss K - the monitor was on sale for $260 at BabyZoneDirect, with $17 shipping. There's a colleague at work who's wife is a few weeks further on than I am, we ordered two then split the shipping. I've seen them for $330 on other sites so we got a bargain (has the 2 x parent monitors, so can have one in the lounge and the other in our bedroom).
So, I am so p*ssed off at that person who stole your baby's name!! ****!! Is she a friend? WTF is her caper??? We've only picked a girl's name so far, and after hearing that I am totally not telling a soul. Did you have it out with her?

Leabie - thanks for mentioning the baby bonus stuff, I'll have to check it out. I actually will be made redundant in about a month's time and my redundancy will fall into the new financial year and also within 6mths of the birth. It's pretty substantial so I'm hoping that doesn't impact the baby bonus

Lise - FX that the cramping and back ache is a sign of a beautiful baby arriving shortly!! How exciting!

Paula, looking forward to hearing about DH's reaction to next week's scary birth class, ha ha ha!

Ninah - hopefully that is your one and only fall for the pregnancy - I'm a small build so I'm not sure how I'll go if I end up with a big belly in front of me!!

WantBaby - I know what you mean about DH's going out adventures costing more than yours! DH is off to the races tomorrow for a mate's birthday. $160 for all you can drink/nibbles and a marquee with private toilets. $160!!!!!! Meanwhile I'll be at home washing clothes.

LondonMiss - sorry technology seems to be working against you at the moment, but NEVER resort to ironing. Neeeevvvvver!!

AFM - off to Tasmania on Monday, to assist the staff that have taken my staff's jobs here in Brissie (and left us all redundant) - as well as babysit the person who will be taking my role. It's not their fault, it was a company decision, but honestly if they want my assistance down there they could really have put on better weather for me! someone told me it was 0 degrees at 7:45 the other morning. I'm from Nth Qld, I don't do well in the cold.
I got home from work earlier and had a 1/4 of a cheesecake. (DH is having a few beers at a mate's place so there were no witnesses). I just don't seem to have an appetite for proper healthy food still, oh well baby apparently is growing well so there must be some nutritional value in all the crap I am eating!

To everyone, big belly rubs, enjoy the weekend and stay safe :-)

Hello all - hope you are having nice Fridays. Yes, I claimed back loads of medical bills on my tax return. I only work part time and if you choose, you can have your taxes separate so it shouldn't matter if your DH is as rich as Donald Trump, it's your tax return. I discounted hundreds of dollars, made a big difference.

In terms of "what can you do" well, damn right we can do something!!! Next election, I will be quizzing each candidate on their policy on this. There are bloody loads of women out there in exactly the same position as all of us (lets for the moment skim over the fact that I'm British and don't have a vote.. .lets not let fact get in the way of a rant) and I don't see why people with fertility needs are discriminated against in terms of rebate. You don't see me complaining about the rebate for people who smoke and get cancer, or people who have stomach ulcers and eat meat, so why shouldn't we get the same fair deal? Why should we get a lower rebate just because it's "optional" fertility treatment??? It sucks, and any politician that comes near me will be hearing about it with both guns. It's sexist, ageist and completely out of order, not to mention counterproductive once they realise how many women in their 30s are going to have the same probs, and guess what, we all have a vote. Well, bar me anyway

Just eaten a natal curry - mmmmm. In three weeks, we're going to make it with the number of chillies set out in the recipe and see if that does the trick. We had a bit of "lise" practice this morning he he he

the $75K taxable income threshold in the 6 months prior to the birth
Aaaarrrgggghhh, you freaked me out for a minute. I was sure last time I read it it said it was the taxable income in the 6 months after the birth of the child but I checked and that is what it still says. It's the difference between us getting it and not getting it.

have adjusted taxable income of less than or equal to $75,000* for the period of 6 months from the date of birth of the child or six months from the date that the child entered into your care
Even so, with my paid maternity leave we'll go just slightly over if I'm not careful.

Juniper - thank you!!!! 6mths AFTER the birth is so much better, as I'll obviously have time off with bub, not sure how long at this stage, but a minimum of 6mths, so this should mean that we fall into the $75K or less in 6mth bracket. Phew! Thanks so much, I feel heaps better now.

LM - hope the practice was fun and did the trick!

Figured while DH was off getting trolleyed at the races I would go get a manicure and pedicure. Ah bliss. I only wish I knew what they were talking and laughing about in their asian language!

Hope you're all having a great weekend.

    Hello Again

    Hi Ladies,
I haven't been on here for a little while but thought I'd check in tonight. I've done very little in the last week because of the extreme nausea that hit me on Monday. I could barely function that night. Since then I've had to force myself to eat (bread with cheese, yoghurt and bananas are about all I can stomach). I've tried the ginger and the B6 and constantly eating and they only help a little, I'm still consumed by nausea 24x7. The idea of food and the smell of it repulses me. DH has had to cook meals for himself and mum's been a godsend sending us home with a couple of meals worth after every visit. The thing is, this is really getting me down, it is so relentless.
I've been off work for the week ( a few sick day because I also have the runs and then a scheduled day off work) but am starting to get really scared about going back and having to concentrate and function through it. At the moment the only relief I get is when I sleep (which I seem to do for about 12 hours each day). My GP and FS say that these are great signs but I just want someone to tell me how to feel better.
Accupuncture on Tuesday night might have helped a bit but I'm not sure, I just want it to stop.
Sorry for the long rant but I needed to get it off my chest. DH has been very sympathetic but I feel like no one really understands just how awful this is.
Has anyone else here felt this bad as well?
    Any stories of hope?
Sorry for being so negative but this has taken away all the pleasure I had in this pregnancy.
    Maggie

Hiya. Afraid I have nothing useful to tell you - sounds like you are doing all the right things - other than to give you sympathy and hope. The symptoms I had in the first trimester wore off really quickly week 12-14 and I hope yours do too. Hang it there, it will get better x

    Hello everyone!

Excited to be on a dedicated Pregnancy after LTTC thread. I'm a member of a few other forums but the usual Trimestrial chats seem so foreign and remote with people who do not understand what we've been through.

We don't yet live in Australia but are getting ready to move over so I thought it would be best to get to know you guys, hope that's ok?

Finally about LHB (Little Human Being) we still don't feel we're out of the woods and relax that this is happening till the 12 weeks scan at least -on the 21st- but doubtful we will do so even then... It's been many years, much money and even more pain in the making.

Maggie - Sorry hun, I can sympathise with you. I have had chronic nausea and vomiting since week 5 and i am now at 12 weeks. I have tried everything and nothing has worked for me. Sorry to sound like there is no hope but i have found that it is just something that us unlucky who get it have to deal with it! Mine seems to be getting worse (which i didn't think was possible) but sometimes the more you sit around and think about the worse it can seem. Sometimes I found it helped to get up and go for a short walk or just get some fresh air. Of course these things didn't get rid of it but sometimes it would help it fade into the back ground. Hopefully your case will be temporary and will fade soon, I am praying that anytime now mine will magically just stop!!! Sorry I couldn't give you anymore positive advice but just hang in there, and do try the advice people give you, something may just work for you everyone is different. GL with it.

Hi to everyone hope you are all doing well. Sorry i read back through a couple of pages and by the time i got back to the start i had forgotten lots!!!!

Nothing new with me, same old! We did buy our cot yesterday though. I know it is early but we saw it at Babies R us and loved it. The best part was it is a $900 cot which was half price, so we picked it up for $450!!!!! That was the only reason we bought it so soon. It won't come out of the box for awhile, till the room is ready. So i think that makes it ok

Morning ladies, hope you're all enjoying this lovely sunny long weekend Monday

MissAma - welcome on board!! Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy! You've certainly come to the right place if you're looking for a bunch of fellow worrywarts

Maggie - sorry to hear about your MS. If you look back through this thread we've probably gone through all the MS relief options we know - hopefully some of them are of some benefit to you

Renee - glad to hear you've bought the cot, very exciting, and half price too, even better!!

Chrissy - glad your manicure and pedi were good - i'm going for a pedi this week too, looking forward to it. I hope Tassie isn't too cold for you and that the trip goes well. I imagine it could be an uncomfortable experience training people to take over your job...

LondonMiss and Juniper - glad to see you getting into the politics of the financial side of having a baby!! DH and I, as I assume everyone here has, have spent loads of money this financial year on IVF and other expenses so for the first time ever I might have to enlist the help of an accountant to do my tax for me to get the maximum return. Mind you, it doesn't take much for me to be confused about our tax, i'm still not sure how the whole negative gearing things works on our rental property so I leave it all to DH and I just fill in the blanks...

MissK - what total rubbish about your friend taking your name - I hope you say something!! We haven't told ANYONE what our names are so at least I know if someone takes them they didn't too it deliberately. Nasty friend!!

Brunette - I think the thing with antenatal classes is it depends on where you take them. Mine were just through the hospital so didn't cost anything, but I know the external classes (like Calmbirth etc) cost quite a bit so might be worth checking before enrolling in anything.

Paula - glad your antenatal class was good, and a good size class too! Ours had about 25 couples in it so very hard to talk to others. As for the birth video, DH confessed later that during the 'gory bit's' (his words, not mine!) he trained his eyes at the top of the TV screen so not to look to obvious that he wasn't watching, hehehe!

Leabie - hope all is going well

AFM - well after the two nights of cramps and a constant sore back i've pretty much had nothing. Mind you, on the first night my sister gave me a back massage, and on the second night i'd been googling and found some acupressure points to stimulate contractions so they could have had something to do with that...!! I see my acupuncturist again tomorrow and will pretty much be pleading with her to do something though I already know what she's going to say (insert big sigh here).

Hi ladies, hope you're all having a lovely long weekend.

Welcome to MissAma. Here's to a healthy and happy PG!

Lise, my antenatal classes are attached to the hospital so hopefully like yours they're free I used to have quite regular massages and mentioned to the masseuse one day how we were TTC. She told me then that it's very important to let masseuses know as you said because there are pressure points that will bring on a baby's birth. How you hanging in there? Gosh, really not long now.

MissK, I would be totally spewing if a friend of mine took not only the first name but also the middle name. How rude! Is it back to the drawing board, then, or do you and DH have some other name/s that you both really like? We don't know what we're having yet as it's too early but if there's a boy my DH will simply not budge from one name, and I liked it first but have since gone off it. Aaaagh!

Maggie, sorry to hear about your MS. One of the things I've been lucky to escape has been that. As Lise says, scroll through the thread b/c there has been quite a bit of discussion on it. Hope you find something that might ameliorate it.

CK, Yep been wearing the horseshoe necklace every day without fail. Sorry to hear about your redundancy and also that you have to train your replacements! That sucks big time.

Hi to Renee, LondonMiss, Juniper, Leabie and anyone else I've missed.

AFM, I'm supposed to book into the hospital from week 12 to week 15, but I'm waiting till the scan is over on Wednesday first. I am a bit confused about this scan + bloodwork. My FS said to have the combined screening but when I booked at the sonographers I was told with twins it was impossible to have bloodwork + scan. On a different thread I have just heard from a lady (from Sydney) who found at 12 weeks (scan missed twins at 7 weeks!) that she was having twins, and she was able to do combined blood + scan. So I suppose I'll just wait till Wednesday and have it out with the sonographer. I've been weaning off the drugs last week, and this Monday marks the second week of weaning off them even more. It's a bit scary!

Hehehe Brunette, that's why I had the massage, to hurry the chicklet up! Mind you DH was very cross at me for even looking at the acupressure website because he thinks (rightly I begrudgingly admit!!) that the chicklet will come when he's ready and doesn't want me doing anything to induce labour ( he's REFUSING to DTD with me!!!). Still, he's not the one with the big belly who can't get comfy so what he doesn't know can't hurt

Lise~Sending labour vibes your way.You must be EXTREMELY uncomfortable as i already am and im not as far as you.I cant bend, put on shoes or shave my legs.(Had DH join me in shower to shave them for me.LOL)
Miss K~DH and i had chosen only 3 names for a boy and about 15 for a girl.Unfortunately DH didnt like ANY of the girls names i chose so our baby girl is being named one which wasnt even on the list which we both love.Im sure you will come up with something just as nice.We have only told my mum the first name, but nobody else.Good luck with the name search.
Miss Ama~ Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome
Londonmiss,Leabie,Juniper,Renee etc Hello and hoping you are all well and growing perfect, healthy little ones.
AFM i have had a argument with DH lastnight as he spent $270 on a pub crawl through the Rocks and city. That was money he said he was saving for my birthday.I was sooooo upset.(He didnt get me anything for past 2 years and said he was making up for it this year) I told him over the phone i was over it all and that i didnt want to be with him anymore.I just wish he would 1. Stop wasting money (he went to 3 bdays in 6 weeks spending $130-$270 each time) and 2.Stop his disgusting habit of smoking!!.I dont think these are huge sacrifices to make for a healthy baby, happy wife and overall, happy marriage?
Anyhow he left 30 minutes ago to fo away for work til next weekend so i can have some peace! Before he left though,he went into the nursery and hung up the mobile above the change table, hung a picture and set up the nappy wrapper......sucking up i think!.
Anyhow im doing nothing today. My son is in bed watching tv with a chest infection and im sitting on the couch.I went out 3 days in a row shopping so im truly exhausted. My hips are still killing me at night so i tend to rest through the day when i can.It seems as soon as i got a date for delivery everything seems soooooo slow.Usually the weeks go quikly but not now.I bet everyone in the last several weeks think this way?

Hello all. Wantbaby - there's no symbol for kick-up-the-bum but I send one over the electrickery waves to your DH. Spending your birthday money is rubbish and I hope he makes up for it with something (albeit cheaper) but with loads and loads of thoughtful effort put into it. I'm glad that DH is an economist by trade and stopped smoking years and years ago when he worked out how much he was paying in tax. I think they should make it $30 a packet but then I've never smoked

Lise - not quite sure how to put this, but one book I read implied that you can achieve the same thing with.... fun for one? Apparently its the female orgasm that does the trick so ..... if DH is quite insistent about not doing it then perhaps time for "alternative measures"....? I'll stop now before I completely lower the tone.

DH looked at me last night as I levered up my whale-like proportions in a series of engineering style movements off the sofa, with accompanying grunting noises (think Argentinian ladies tennis player and you're half way there) and said "you are absolutely enormous, aren't you?" with a look of sort of fascinated interest, a bit like you do with a nature programme. Well, I've been needing a bit of organic matter to put on the garden for some time so he's under the patio now...

Apparently I've started "snortling" during the night. I think this is a sort of combined shuffling/ snoring/ snorting/ shifting technique of sleeping which explains why I wake up more tired than when I go to sleep... I am now so excited about finally meeting our little girl that I think I'm becoming increasingly delusional about the practical side of delivery... I'm being all blase about the whole thing, one would think that she was coming by DHL rather than being pushed out my wotsit. Lise - are you the same? It's like it's finally got too scary and real so if I just pretend it won't be like that, and I'll push a few times, be handed a g'n't and a nice clean baby, that's what actually might happen?

MissAma - a big welcome to the thread, and eventually Australia. When do you move here?

that's enough rambling for now. Big belly rubs to you all and I hope you are all well and enjoying the Queens bday. Happy Birthday old girl!

Brunette - hope you get things sorted with your sonographer about the scan/blood tests, sounds a tad confusing really doesn't it? If only people were consistent...!

Wantbaby - sending some hugs your way hun I would kill my DH if he did something like that. I assume you've spoken to him about how you feel? Would writing things down in a letter/email help at all? I know sometimes it can at least take some of the passion/emotion out of the equation long enough to get the message read???

LondonMiss - my DH is an economist too! We have spreadsheets galore in our house though thankfully we still have separate bank accounts so I can still do what I want with 'my' money!! And yes, I KNOW i'm in denial about the birth as I get excited when I have cramps cos I think it might be the start of something. Very silly...

Well ladies - i'm warning you in advance, basically all my future posts are going to be my complaining about something (lack of sleep, getting up every hour in the night to pee, cramps etc) so feel free to skip the AFM section of my posts Acupuncture today, fingers crossed...

Hope everyone is well, belly rubs to all xx

MissK ~ What a nob stealing your name!! I'd be so angry. Especially taking both names too. Is this a friend of yours? Best of luck on the reselection. Although I'd just be a stubborn ***** and still go ahead with that name, if it's something you love then why shouldn't you!

CK77 - Brrrrr you stay warm in Tassie. I'm from a colder part of NSW so we're use the freezy weather, although one wonders if you ever get "use" to it lol. Cheesecake sounds good...mmmmmm

LondonMiss @ Snorting!!! I know exactly how you feel. DH says I do that lately too, or sometimes I let out little "moans"...haha I said "You try rolling over at this size and see if you don't moan too"

Maggie - Oh hun, so sorry to hear about the nausea...Sounds horrible. When I had it, it wasn't that long, but I found dry crackers (like SAO) seemed to help, the old trick of having one beside the bed and eating it before you even get up helped too. *hugs* Hope you feel better soon.

MissAma - Hello Stranger!!!! Guess who No really, lets see if you can guess. It's so wonderful to see you here. Means your move to Aussie land seems more of a sure thing!!!

Renee - Oh a new cot!! You will have to show us some pictures when it's all assembled, sounds lovely though - and what a bargain!

Lise *hugs* hopefully with continued use those pressure points might get the ball rolling. I've heard good things about nipple stimulation too, constant - like pumping with a breast pump.

Brunette. - Lots of luck with the scan, not sure what the protocol is with Twins....How you feeling with the drug weaning? *hugs*

wantbaby#2 - So sorry to hear of the tiff with DH hun. Although that is a hell of a lot of money for one pub crawl . Let him suck up though, make sure you get some things you want done in there - Hope your son is feeling better soon.

Gosh thats a lot of catching up, so sorry if I missed anyone!

AFM - Had a nice weekend, got a lot done around the house. We got some very cute Winnie the Pooh wall decals put up and they look adorable!! Also picked up our Steelcraft Cruiser infant carrier and had it installed in the car. I swear when I drive around every time I stop at lights I turn to look at it in the back seat in awe It's so weird but so cute having a baby capsule in the back seat!! Need to organise what I need for my hospital bag soon so I can start to gather the things for when I decide to pack.

4 more weeks of work left....
