Hi Ladies, Im new to this thread... i never thought i'd make it here. I got my BFP today!
Im very shocked but excited and so happy to be here with you all.
x
Congratulations Jaki and welcome!
congratulations and welcome to the thread Jaki!!!
Congrats Jaki,
still reading ladies, but nothing to post, i still just keep it to my bellybuddies thread but god to see you are all doing so well, and that there are so many of us in here.
........now who is next
WantBaby#2 - congratulations on the safe arrival of Ellie :-)
Jaki80 - welcome to the thread, here's hoping you have no morning sickness, and a happy and healthy 9 months.
AFM - DH felt the baby move for the first time last night :-)
Have a great weekend everyone, and lots of contraction vibes to London Miss.
Congrats to wantbaby on your beautiful daughter. Hope you are enjoying this most magical time!
Welcome to Jaki and congratulations!!
CK77 - how exciting, hope he loved it :) I remember my DH had a little tear when he felt it for the first time, I guess we are the ones who experience everything physically so it's amazing for them to feel it too.
Renee - I will keep my EDD as the 24th until proven otherwise! Thanks for doing the list too.
Hi to everyone :)
AFM - Had my 1st Ob appointment yesterday, my splodge on his ultrasound is 4 days ahead of where I thought I was but he told me not to worry or think about it as it's a different machine and was abdominal rather than vaginal so can be different this early (it was a FET but as we also try each month naturally we won't be exactly sure of the date). He was sooooo lovely after my grumpy FS - it was nice to be around someone positive and supportive. Even though I still have two weeks and 6 days (not that I am counting) until my 12 week scan, I feel a little, teeny bit excited now which is nice because like all of us here, I think I deserve to get a little bit happy about this.
Wantbaby2 - that's wonderful news, I'm so pleased for you. Congratulations to you and DH.
I've had a show... finally..... and now I can't recall, is it after your waters break that you can't have a bath or after a show or both? Typically it is the only thing I feel like.... !
Bath is fine :) Hope this means it'll be soon LondonMiss
Wishes, Congratulations on the birth of Casey. Sounds like you had a pretty traumatic time. I hope you are feeling heaps better now.
Wantbaby, Congratulations on the birth of your daughter Ellie Juliette. Love the name you've chosen, too.
LM, The (euphemistically called) stretch and sweep sounds awful! Thinking of you and sending you strenght and positive vibes. Can't wait to hear from you with news of bub's arrival.
Jaki, Welcome to the thread. (I think we've chatted in a different thread before?)
Juniper, Did you like your OB? Great news on your scan. Are you going to an US clinic to have a 12-week scan? We've not had anyone use a doppler on me, so I haven't heard the babies heartbeats yet. My OB has a pretty old US screen. Good news that MS is easing a little.
CK, How exciting that your DH felt the little one move for the first time. Those stabbing pains are horrible, aren't they? Our OB said it was nothing to worry about; simply the uterus stretching to accommodate the babies, so that was reassuring to hear.
Lairdoz, Glad that you like your OB and all was well with your scan. The two-odd weeks will fly by and you'll soon be in having your 12 week scan, which is simply amazing!
MaggiePie, Yep, you were right; those pains are the uterus stretching. Hope you're recovering from your cold and took the advice of LM and simply rested. I read in a PG book that tomato is one of the many foods they recommend for the 1st trimester, so your body obviously knows that is what it need. Funny how the body works, isn't it?
AFM, I was 18 weeks on Friday. Yay! Our OB appt went well. Saw both heartbeats and got a rough measurement of the twins as well as a guesstimate of weight but can't remember now whether it was for each twin or the combined weight of both. My belly has really, really popped and I am only just fitting into one pair of work pants. Soooo ... today I bought some maternity clothes and also started looking at nursery items. Can't afford to go crazy as we have to buy for two, but god there is so much stuff out there that they try to sell you! I'm sure if I had the $$$ it would be very hard to say no.
Hi and belly rubs to anyone I've missed. Have a good weekend.
Hi Brunette, yes we have chatted in the LTTTC 2WW thread i think. I steered clear of that thread this time as it made me a little nutty and obsessive on my 2nd cycle (last Nov). I found the 2WW went so much faster this time!
LondonMiss good luck with your impending birth!
AMF- still very scared, its so early and i want my first scan to hurry up! Im crampy all the time which i thought was normal but i worries me a little.
CK & Brunette i'm glad to hear that you guys are having those stabbing crampy pains at the moment. Mine are quite low and were beginning to worry me but hearing you guys have the same thing makes me feel better about it.
CK -How beautiful for your DH, i am still only feeling flutters nothing that i can recognise as definate movement yet, can't wait, hopefully won't be too much longer.
Jaki - I had quite a bit of cramping early on as well, it definately is nerve racking!!!
Lairdoz - Glad you felt more comfortable with your OB it makes a big difference when you do.
LM - I hope that your bundle of joy arrives anytime now, can't wait to hear the news.
AFM - Well i have not been physically sick for 1 whole week !!!!! YAY!!! Still really get nausea till about 11 in the morning but then it goes. Touch wood that it is finally over. Not much else is happening, still 2 weeks till 20 wk scan. Trying to clear out what will be the babies room so i can actually get started on it! Enjoy your Sunday ladies :)
Jaki, as long as the cramping isn't painful and you've got no bleeding, it should all be fine. I had the same thing and I'm still getting it at times.
Renee, good to hear you're starting to feel better. Ugh, don't remind me we have to convert our storage room to a nursery. I've got no idea where we're going to put everything.
Brunette, I hope you can shorten the shopping list to the essentials. We have friends with twins and they certainly had a lot of stuff. We're quite fortunate that they plan to give us a lot of what we need (eg cot, etc). Actually, her response on Friday when I sent an SMS about our scan was "when can we start bringing stuff over?". And all of our friends have a few boxes of baby clothes that do the rounds, so we shouldn't have any shortage there unless someone else has a baby at the same time (only one likely couple who we haven't seen for a few weeks and last time they waited until 2nd tri to tell, so it's possible). There is some advantage to having had to wait so long for this...
LondonMiss, I hope things have progressed quickly since your show.
Lairdoz, I'm glad your OB appointment and scan went well! I don't know about you, but I was kind of excited to be able to keep my pants on for an u/s for the first time!!
Hi Jaki, congratulations & welcome!! :)
I had mild cramping and stretching feeling up until my scan last week and all was good at the scan. I actually took it as a reassuring sign that things were going on inside my uterus and bub was growing......
BUT..i have a question for you all please....since my scan the stretching feeling has GONE? no twinges or cramps for signs or anything! its like i'm not pregnant. I still have sore boobs and bit tired but other than that...nothing in the last week. Am worried now that something has gone wrong.
Can i ask if the other ladies who have been through or going through end of 1st trimester....did you always feel like there was a "feeling" (stretching/presence/cramps etc) in your uterus?
I am having another bt on tues then another scan on friday, am just so scared that something will go wrong. embarassing to be such the worrywart on this thread...sorry
Thanks again ladies, you really are a lifesaver and i'm so grateful for your ongoing support :grouphug:
Yogi bear i think we will all be worryworts until our babies make their appearance!
x
Jaki, and then we'll keep worrying for the rest of our lives... ;)
Yogi, I recall there were a couple of weeks there when the cramps were gone. I think they lasted until about 6 or 7 weeks and then stopped. They started again recently. Honestly, you don't sound like any more of a worrywart than I am. I get positively neurotic at times. I suspect every single lady here will tell you they've worried exactly the same way. Have you joined a Belly Buddies (due date) thread? I find it quite reassuring at times when we were all getting similar changes (symptoms starting or stopping) at similar times.
LondonMiss, I hope the lack of posting means your wait is over!
Hi everyone,
Firstly big congrats to makebaby2, hope you are enjoying your little girl!
Juniper, Lairdoz and Brunette, glad the appointments went well.
Welcome Jaki80 and congratulations!
Yogi Bear - I think it is normal to worry, especially when you have invested so much emotion already getting to this point.
AFM - can't wait until we can do that first scan, it seems so far away. I have to admit if this pregnancy drags on like the last week I will feel like I am 80 by the time I have this baby! Went to DH's work function last night. Usually I will have a drink with the other wives, so had a few questions about why not. Luckily still on antibiotics for sinus infection so used that as excuse, and several people weren't there as sick with the same thing so I think all but one believed me. But she didn't have to scream it out in front of the whole room 'oh your pregnant aren't you!! I just know you are'. I was so annoyed I just said 'no we have been trying but I have issues down there' and left it at that.
Why do people put you in this position??? We have decided we won't even tell family until 13 weeks and here is some random announcing it for us at a party - ahh! Don't know how I will get through the next few weeks as have several functions to go to.....
Anyone have suggestions????
Oh, Maggie, I'm so sorry to hear you've got a nosy parker putting you in that situation. I've had a problem at work where I keep getting people randomly asking me how our IVF endeavours are going the day before a big scan. My boss asked the day before our first one and one of the other managers asked on Thursday (the day before our first OB appointment). I flat out lied to my boss the first time (and felt terrible about it and told them the next week after we'd told our families). I didn't feel the need to lie last week though, so I just said I wasn't answering his question and he wished us luck. Thankfully there's no-one else that knows about the IVF, so hopefully that's the last one.
I don't know how your functions are run, but is there any way you could sneak a bottle of non-alcoholic wine in with you and fill your glass where no-one sees? Otherwise, (if you're comfortable with it) I think you're probably stuck with the lying option. If you really want to put someone in their place you could tell them all you've been through with TTC and then say you don't appreciate them adding to your stress, but I've never gotten angry enough to try that option myself and it'd probably cause quite a scene. ;)
Hi there Yogi Bear, don't worry! I felt lots of cramping and stuff generally "going on" in the uterine area from the TWW onward through, oh, I don't know, about week 8 or so. Then I felt nothing for a few weeks and, like you, was wondering why not. But we had our ultrasounds and everything was fine, and now, wouldn't you know, I'm getting lots of twinges and stabbing pains on the sides of my uterus which my OB says is just round ligament pain as the uterus expands and moves up into the abdomen. So don't worry, you'll likely be getting lots more feeling in a couple of weeks!
MaggiePie, sorry to hear about the loudmouth at your husband's party. I had a few similar situations at work functions where people were asking questions since I'm usually right in there having a couple of glasses of wine. Luckily, a few friends of mine (who are NOT pregnant) had just finished month-long alcohol free months, so I told people I was doing that. I got a few people asking why, but I just said a bunch of my friends had done it for health and weight-control reasons and I thought I'd give it a try. That worked until my DH and I went out to dinner with my boss a few weeks ago and I still wasn't drinking. I told him that I had decided to extend the alcohol free month for another month just to see if I could do it because I liked the idea of doing an extended detox. (I think it helps that my DH and I really do try to do alcohol free weeks from time to time, so it wasn't total bull***** when I was trying to explain it.) He didn't really understand but I think chalked it up as one of those weird girl things. I think it would be harder, though, if it was women who were paying attention to you at all these events. But I do think that the AFM story is good, b/c quite a lot of people do do that, apparently. (In fact, apparently a magazine wrote an article about "Dry February" or something, with regards to detoxing after the holidays. You can say you had just heard about it and wanted to try it.)
Also, glad to hear of those of you whose appointments and scans went well. I met my OB for the first time this past Monday and was so pleased, because I loved him! Now I can understand why he's so hard to get into!
Finally, LondonMiss, I hope that we're not hearing from you b/c you're off having that baby. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
KitKat72
Hi all!
Jaki80 - A big :hello: and welcome to the thread! Congrats on your BFP, so exciting! Try not to stress about the cramps, I had AF-type cramps quite frequently up til about 7 weeks, from memory? Very unnerving, I know.
CK77 - thats so wonderful that DH felt the bub for the first time. What a special moment!
Lairdoz - Yay for the nice OB! Glad that you like him, it makes such a difference when you like your carer, doesn't it? And HELL YEAH you deserve to be getting excited! :D Hope the (just over) 2 weeks flies by for you.
LM - oooohhhh, sooooo exciting... got FX that that baby is out!
Brunette - I can't believe you're 18 weeks already :o It seems like yesterday that we were celebrating you reach 12 weeks! Didn't even think about how much extra stuff you'll need for twins  Do you have many friends with stuff to offload?
Juniper76 - you made me laugh with your comment about keeping your pants on for ultrasounds! I thought exactly the same thing...
YogiBear - welcome to the first trimester! After the scary cramps disappear, and you're not feeling weird stretching pains, and (hopefully) there's no MS - you feel... nothing! Your belly's not big enough to look obvious, the bub is too small to feel it kick, so you just feel normal. Very frustrating. Hang in there, hopefully time will pass quickly til your next scan, and you can have a look at the bub!
MaggiePie - isn't that so annoying when people scream out stuff like that?! I had no issues lying point blank to them, if they're gonna be rude, then I could too! Had it happen so many times. As for the not drinking, could you try the "designated driver" line? I would use that one, or the old "I'm trying to lose weight" (to which noone ever said "but you don't need to!").
Hi to anyone I've missed!
Congratulations and welcome Jaki!!
CK77 great news on your OBS appointment. Definitely great when you are happy with them.
Renee hope the MS eases up for you!
LondonMiss where are you?? Holding you precious bub i hope!!!
Hi everyone,
Thanks Juniper, kitkat and Leabie for your great suggestions. I tried the designated driver thing but some people were like 'you can still have one or two', so I have decided that the alcohol free month thing could be the go, especially as I am still trying to get over the sinus infection I am just going to say that I want to detox to get back on track. I think the trouble is I have a few things coming up where I would normally have a few drinks (I am a two pot screamer so seriously a big night for me is 2-3 drinks) and the other people going are big drinkers who tend to think you can't have a good time unless you drink so why would someone not be drinking??? And it also annoys me how you might say at the start of the night 'no I'm not drinking tonight' but they keep on being really persistent all night asking if you want a drink. Anyway thanks to the suggestions I have some ideas up my sleeve, and have decided that I definately shouldn't feel bad for lying to someones face if they are rude enough to ask me straight out if I am pregnant! After all we are not ready to tell even our family yet and people shouldn't be so rude!
Yogi bear - I am having one of those 'I don't feel pregnant days' today. Feel a bit tired but had a great sleep last night thanks to kids sleeping through and so have achieved alot of housework that wasn't done last week! So even though I'm feeling good, kind of wish I felt even a bit of nausea so I still knew everything was ok. So you are not alone in that feeling, hope your belly pops soon (in a good way)!
LondonMiss - hoping bub is out by now and you are having some nice cuddles!
hey girls, just had some sad news. One of my friends has just been through her first round of IVF, she got the call today to say that her BT came back neg. She's not pregnant. I feel so bad for her. The only other to members of our group who have used fertility help have both got pregnant with their first round. Me with IVF and our other friend who's 21 weeks, with IUI. DH told me yesterday about a girl at his work who has just announced she is pregnant after her 11th round of IVF. Things like this really make me feel guilty that we fell first round. It seems so unfair when you hear other people's stories. They deserve to be parents just as much as we do!!
glenny, I don't think you should feel guilty for succeeding first try. I just think you should feel grateful (and I'm sure you do). Unfortunately it's not a question of who deserves it, it's just luck. All you can do is offer your friend a shoulder to cry on if she wants it or a bit of space if that's what she needs instead.
Thanks Juniper, I will be there for whatever she needs and I know that may include understanding that she may want nothing to do with me for a while. I am incredibly thankful for what I have, don't get me wrong and I know she is happy for me. My heart just breaks for her, the whole thing is just so random, it seems so unfair. I'm OK, just venting! Thanks though!!
xx
All,
I am delighted to say that Charlotte finally made her appearance at 00.02 this morning, having had a very short 1.5 hour actual active phase. She was spine on spine and had the cord round her neck, so she was whipped out with a ventouse by the most attractive doctor I've ever seen (whom I think my birth partner took quite a fancy for) after only 12 pushes.
Nothing at all went according to my birth plan but she is the most perfect little thing. I'll come back in a couple of days with more details, but for now, am anxious to jump in the shower whilst I have a visitor.
xx
A massive CONGRATULATIONS to LondonMiss for the arrival of Charlotte! :confetti: So pleased to hear she finally arrived! Such a beautiful name too. Hope you're recovering well, look forward to hearing more about your adventures (and the spunky doctor)!
Congratulations Londonmiss - glad to hear it all went quickly and hope you are enjoying this time with your beautiful daughter.

CONGRATULATIONS LondonMiss on the birth of your daughter Charlotte!
Have been thinking about you all morning. Glad to hear that it all went really quickly for you. Definitely looking forward to hearing more details and as Leabie said, details about the spunky Dr too :D. How funny that she was born two minutes into today!! Must have really been holding out for the 27th July!!
LondonMiss, I'm thrilled to hear she's finally in your arms! :confetti:
Woo hoo, congrats LondonMiss!! Hope all is going well and you are enjoying cuddles xx
Congratulations LondonMiss on the birth of Charlotte. (Love the name BTW; it's on my shortlist if we have a girl). Can't wait to hear more about the birth - and the spunky doctor!
Leabie, Unfortunately we don't have many friends/family with secondhand baby furniture/clothes to give us, as in the main their children are a lot older and they've either given it away or sold it. I agree with you that time is flying by, but then when I'm the size of a house I may feel it's going a lot slower LOL!
MaggiePie, I agree with the others, an alcohol-free month is a good suggestion. Or you could try the detox line for health reasons. Some people are such busybodies, aren't they?
KitKat, Great news that you met your OB and liked him!
AFM, I felt (proper) movement last night and this morning. I have felt little bubbles for a while but this morning I felt two soft little jabs or kicks. It was so cute. We have our morph scan this Friday, when I'll be 19 weeks! Yay!
Hi to all the ladies I've missed. Belly rubs to everyone.
Congratulations Londonmiss on the safe arrival of your beautiful little girl. Love the name!!! Hope you are both doing well. I agree with the others we need more details about this hot doc :)!!!!

"Welcome Squishie to the world,
a.k.a
Thomas Edward.
Born at 17.59 on 21.07.10
Weighing a sweet 2890g, HC 34cm, Apgars 8 and 9. more details to follow.
We had our NT scan today and thankfully got good results. Risk for Downs is 1:6630. Risk for Trisomy 18 and 13 were 1:16835 and 1:52631, respectively. Very happy. :D And today was the first time in around 8 weeks that I ate 3 meals! Admittedly, breakfast was only a museli bar, but still, I'm counting it... Also went for baseline bloods today and had a lovely chat with the phlebotomist as she extracted about 8 vials of blood. Turns out she had twins with IVF (now 18yo). Big day!
Congrats LondonMiss- Beautiful name!!!!
Thanks for doing the list Renee. It's so strange to see myself move up. I remember when I first went on the bottom of that list and people were amazed that there was a 2011 bub on the list already!! he he
Congrats to Londonmiss!
afm- Having another BT today as i was not happy with my starting HCG at 107 9dpt, even tho my FS said it was perfect. I hoping my numbers have at least doubled 3 times to 800, but heaps more would be better ;)
If my pg symptoms are anything to go by it should be up there.
x
Congratulations LondonMiss! Hope you are recovering well and bub is doing well also. Love the name - it is at the top of my girls list, however I think DH will take some convincing....
Glenny C I hope your friend is doing ok, I am hoping she gets some good news soon and that her IVF journey isn't too drawn out. And don't feel guilty about falling first cycle, just consider yourself blessed!
AFM - I am getting used to lying point blank to all the nosy people (work mainly) who keep asking am I pregnant yet. Now I don't even bat an eyelid. Talked to a close friend the other day and felt a bit bad for not telling her but she will understand when I do that I wasn't yet ready. DH and I are gloating that we have this little secret that no one else knows (apart from all you of course). And I think I must be having another girl as my libido has increased dramatically as it did with DD, but it was decreased with DS (sorry TMI!).
Take care everyone
Jaki80 - try not to stress too much about your first beta, if it makes you feel any better, mine was 97 at 11dp5dt!
MaggiePie - good on you for lying bald faced! Its kinda fun sometimes, isn't it? Noone will be mad at you once you tell them the good news.
Juniper76 - congratulations on your brilliant NT results! Its such a relief, isn't it?
Glenny_c - KWYM about moving up the list... we're a third of the way up already! :o
AFM - soooo excited, we've just booked our babymoon in October, going to Hervey Bay for a week  Got an awesome deal on Wotif, I love that site. I'll be 27 weeks by then, just at the end of 2nd trimester, hopefully I won't be too big to enjoy it!
